The Crime Victims' Rights Act (CVRA) was supposed to guarantee fairness and transparency for victims—making sure they were informed, included, and respected in the legal process. But when Jeffrey Epstein came along, that promise evaporated. Federal prosecutors secretly cut a Non-Prosecution Agreement that protected not only Epstein but also his “potential co-conspirators,” violating the very law designed to stop such backroom deals. The victims weren't told; they found out months later from the press. The same Department of Justice that preaches accountability deliberately hid the deal, broke federal law, and then argued that the CVRA didn't apply because no federal charges were filed—an argument so twisted it turned their own crime into a loophole.Instead of punishment, Epstein got 13 months in county jail with daily work release, while the prosecutors who betrayed the victims got promotions. The courts sided with the government, ruling that since the feds never formally charged Epstein, the survivors technically weren't “victims” under the CVRA. The result was a legal farce that showed how easily the system bends for the powerful. The law that was supposed to protect victims ended up protecting predators, proving once again that in America, justice isn't blind—it just looks away when the wrong people are involved.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Eric peels the curtain back with how other teams are looking to move location and why, and applies that to why the Stars would move. Then Eric explains how politics comes into play with decisions like this and how the City of Dallas doesn't want to lose the Stars and Mavericks. Why are so many healthcare providers burned out, overworked, and underpaid—despite dedicating their lives to helping others? In part one of this powerful two-part conversation, Dr. Lauryn sits down with Kiera Dent, CEO and founder of The Dental A Team, to uncover the root causes of financial and emotional burnout across chiropractic, dentistry, and other healthcare professions. Together, they dig into why so many doctors feel “broke,” overwhelmed, and disconnected from their purpose, and what needs to change in how we approach business and balance in the healthcare world.Lauryn and Kiera dive deep into the shared challenges facing modern clinicians: massive student debt, a lack of business training, and the generational shift in what work-life balance really means. They discuss how to identify where burnout truly comes from, why profit margins matter more than ever, and how to reclaim your sense of purpose without sacrificing success. Whether you're a chiropractor, dentist, or any healthcare entrepreneur—this conversation will remind you that you're not alone and help you start rewriting your professional story.Key Takeaways:Burnout isn't just emotional—it's financial. Many healthcare professionals are struggling because their businesses lack healthy profit margins and sustainable structures.Generational shifts are reshaping success. Millennials and Gen Z are rejecting outdated scripts of overwork and redefining what true balance and fulfillment look like in healthcare.Business is business—even in healthcare. Doctors need to learn core entrepreneurial and leadership skills to thrive, not just survive, in private practice. You're not alone. Whether you're a dentist, chiropractor, or vet, the struggles of burnout, money stress, and purpose fatigue are universal—and solvable.About the Guest:Kiera Dent is the CEO and founder of The Dental A Team, where she and her team consult with hundreds of dental practices nationwide. The Washington Roundtable discusses how this week's government shutdown can be best understood by looking at the background and influence of Russell Vought, the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Vought is a Christian nationalist who served in the first Trump Administration. He was a chief architect of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, and has written that the country is in a “post constitutional moment.” Amid the shutdown, Vought has threatened to lay off federal workers en masse and to withhold funds from Democratic-leaning states. The panel considers whether these moves are not just an expansion of Presidential power but a fiscal “partitioning” of America. This week's reading:“Donald Trump's Shutdown Power Play,” by Susan B. Most people think wealth is about earning more. The truth? It's about the patterns you repeat every day. In this episode, we break down 10 specific patterns that predict whether you'll be broke or wealthy 10–20 years from now. These aren't obvious mistakes like “don't buy lattes.” They're subtle, sneaky habits that quietly lock people into financial struggle… or quietly compound into freedom. Here's what we cover: Why overspending on status is a trap (and what to do instead). How shopping without a list bleeds your bank account. The single most profitable investment you'll ever make (and it's not the stock market). Why living in the wrong location costs more than you think. The mistake of copying successful people at the wrong season of their life. This is the episode I wish every 20- and 30-something could hear. But truthfully, even people in their 40s and 50s are still making these mistakes. The Miami Herald's investigative series “Perversion of Justice” became a turning point, laying bare the sweetheart deal Epstein received and how officials swept his crimes under the rug. By digging into court records, interviewing survivors, and pressing local authorities, these journalists exposed the corruption and failures of law enforcement in a way that reverberated nationally. This week on the Journey to Launch Podcast, I'm diving into the money rules that have guided me and the ones I've intentionally broken along the way. Rules are meant to serve as frameworks, not prisons. Over the years, I've adapted, reshaped, and sometimes completely tossed out rules that no longer served me. I want you to walk away from this conversation inspired to define your own rules, question the ones you've been following, and give yourself permission to evolve as your journey unfolds. In this episode I share: ✨ Why I treat my financial goals like mandatory expenses and how that mindset changed everything for me ✨ The role of automation in reducing stress and keeping me consistent with saving and investing ✨ The importance of building a safety net and FU money, and how it's given me the freedom to take risks ✨ The rules I've broken, like budgeting every penny, never using credit cards, and saving every last dollar and how shifting away from them actually helped me grow Other related blog posts/links mentioned in this episode: Apply to Share Your Journeyer Story, here. Localized journalism played a pivotal role in breaking through the silence and inertia that surrounded the Epstein investigation for years. National outlets often overlooked or downplayed the story, but local reporters—particularly in Florida—kept pushing. Survivors later credited these local stories with giving them a voice when no one else would.Localized journalism played a pivotal role in breaking through the silence and inertia that surrounded the Epstein investigation for years. About two dozen passengers went at it outside the cafeteria, with one shocked bystander yelling, “Over chicken tendies is crazy!” as fists flew. Security eventually stepped in, but not before the internet got hold of the footage, making the late-night snack attack instantly legendary.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Insurance isn't boring—it's the foundation of your wealth plan. Most people treat it like an afterthought, only glancing at benefits during open enrollment and hoping nothing bad happens. That's exactly why so many families end up scrambling when life hits them with the unexpected. In this episode, I sit down with Maxwell Schmitz, a disability insurance and income protection expert, to rip apart the myths and excuses around insurance. We cover the psychology behind why people ignore it, the real risks you're facing, and why disability insurance is more likely to impact your life than death during your working years. We break down the most common myths:“I'm too young for that.”“I've got coverage through work, I'm good.”“Insurance is a waste of money.”Max exposes the flaws in that thinking with numbers, stories, and blunt truth. We also dive into why group plans don't cover nearly as much as you think, why cost isn't the real barrier, and how insurance fits on the defensive side of your wealth strategy. You'll walk away knowing the exact policies to check before the year ends, the one question you should be asking your advisor, and why your emergency fund is the first move if you do nothing else. This is a raw, no-BS conversation about protecting your income, your family, and your peace of mind. Kristen (30) and Josh (36) married just last year, but their honeymoon phase is buried under $40,000 of debt and a sense of being “trapped.” Kristen is meticulous, tracking every dollar and carrying deep guilt around spending—even on herself. Josh, meanwhile, shrugs off the stress with a “we'll figure it out” attitude, though his impulse purchases and nicotine habit don't help. With 82% of their income tied up in fixed costs, they're left with almost nothing for fun, savings, or their dreams of a bigger space for pets and cars. Kristen is exhausted from budgeting every penny, while Josh wonders if more discipline is really the answer. Can Ramit help them break free from the cycle of guilt, fear, and deprivation—and finally learn how to enjoy life while paying off debt? In this episode we uncover: • Why Kristen describes her daily life as feeling “trapped” by debt and second-guessing over small purchases • How Josh's role as the “ignorant reassurer” undermines their partnership • The moment Kristen admits she feels like the “manager” of their household finances, while Josh feels like an “employee” • Why 82% of their income goes to fixed costs • How Josh's nicotine habit consumes nearly all of their guilt-free spending • Kristen's pride in maintaining her cars and what it reveals about her resourcefulness • The trade-offs Kristen faced leaving a toxic job for lower pay • How Josh's childhood poverty and lessons in “patience” continue to shape his money mindset today • Kristen's upbringing in a family of secrecy and mixed financial messages • The deep guilt Kristen feels about spending and the quiet fear Josh carries that he'll “never get ahead” • How Ramit challenges them to imagine freedom beyond budgeting and debt payoff Chapters: (00:00:00) “I feel trapped by $50” (00:19:44) Ramit breaks down their numbers (00:36:45) “Zero interest… but still stressed” (00:43:45) “We packed coolers instead of eating out” (00:51:54) “When money gets hard, I just work harder” (01:06:08) “I want a partner, not an employee” (01:13:31) Turning side hustles into new income (01:19:45) “What do we do with too much money?” (01:28:44) Choosing how to design their Rich Life (01:36:03) Where are they now?
