This season, we stand shoulder to shoulder with teachers, parents, and communities across the nation, fighting back against the tech giants, profiteers, and bad actors who want to see our schools shuttered, our classrooms emptied, and our children turned into data points. They want kids to learn from screens, not people. From algorithms, not relationships. They want to strip the soul from education so they can monetize it. But we won't let them. On Teach Me, Teacher, we believe in the power of real educators, real communities, and real learning. Join us as we expose the threats, elevate voices on the frontlines, and champion the future of public education—one episode at a time.

Read OnlineSomeone in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell my brother to share the inheritance with me.” He replied to him, “Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?” Luke 12:13–14Many things in life are not fair. Children are keenly aware of this any time they sense they have been cheated by a sibling. They complain to their parents, just as the person in the crowd quoted above complained to Jesus about his brother. We want justice and can become quite upset when we feel that we have been dealt an injustice. The passage above is interesting because Jesus gently but clearly refuses to be the arbiter of justice for this man. It may indeed be the case that he was cheated out of his inheritance by his brother. But it's interesting that Jesus not only refuses to resolve the dispute, He then goes on to teach about greed, suggesting that the cheated man was acting out of greed. If you were cheated out of your inheritance by a sibling, how would you react? If a sibling were to do this, it would clearly be a sin and an injustice. But the question at hand is your reaction to being cheated. Being cheated by another might result in one of two responses. The most common response is to immediately seek justice, to fight back. But this is not always what God will inspire us to do. Instead, when we experience injustice, we are given an opportunity to love on a very deep level. And this must be our response. This is why Jesus said we must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In the big picture of eternity, earthly injustices are always an opportunity for grace. This is evident by simply looking at the gravest injustice of the suffering and death of the Son of God. Jesus did not complain about being so cruelly treated. He did not call on the angels of Heaven to destroy the Pharisees and Romans who attacked Him. Instead, Jesus used the injustice inflicted upon Him as a foundation for His gift of salvation. As we journey through this life, we need to decide whether we are going to live for this life or for eternity. We cannot have both. However, by choosing to live for eternity, we also enhance our lives here on earth in ways that nothing in this world can match. For example, say you experienced the unfortunate situation of extreme poverty. Say you were cheated out of your home and possessions and were left with nothing. Would this make you miserable? It might, but it doesn't have to. Instead, such an unfortunate circumstance has the potential for you to live day-by-day, trusting in God's providential care and to offer mercy in the face of injustice. And that is good. It is good for your eternal soul. It is good because it will motivate you to trust God on a very deep level and to become a beacon of God's mercy. By contrast, if you had everything you could ever want in this world, it would be seriously tempting to rely less upon God and more upon the things you possess in this world. But the things of this world cannot save your eternal soul. In fact, they are a serious hindrance to your ability to trust in God alone. So, truth be told, poverty and injustice actually open the door to an opportunity for much more grace in our lives than material wealth does. But so often we still long to have more and more of the things of this world. Reflect, today, upon the spiritual and eternal blessings that come from relying solely upon God and not upon material wealth. This is a hard lesson for most people to learn. If this is your struggle, then try to take on the eternal perspective. Try to look beyond the temporary stability and pleasures that come from accumulating earthly wealth, so that you will see the eternal riches that come from seeking God alone. Everything in this world will one day pass away. In the light of that fact, recommit yourself to the embrace of God's riches by loving others through every injustice you encounter in life. Most merciful Lord, You endured the greatest injustice ever known. But in the face of that injustice, You offered mercy and the gift of salvation, transforming that injustice into the greatest act of love ever offered. Help me to imitate Your merciful heart and to see injustice, poverty, and every difficulty I encounter as an opportunity to turn more fully to You. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Église Saint-Martin de Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! It's August 2nd, and we're on day 215 of our year-long journey through the Scriptures. I'm Hunter, your host, Bible reading coach, and a fellow traveler through these life-giving pages. In today's episode, we'll explore the rise and dramatic turnarounds in the reigns of Manasseh and Amon from 2 Kings 21 and 2 Chronicles 33—stories marked by heartbreaking rebellion, profound repentance, and the relentless mercy of God. Then, we'll move into the Gospel of John, where Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman at the well, offering her—and each of us—the living water that truly satisfies. As we read, we'll reflect on the deep thirst that only Christ can quench, the radical forgiveness He offers, and the invitation to worship in spirit and in truth. Join us as we open our hearts and let the Word point us to the One who knows everything about us yet loves us just the same. Whether you're feeling spiritually parched or longing for a fresh encounter, this episode is for you. Grab your Bible and let's dive in together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Thirsty this woman was. And she was willing to admit it. She wasn't too proud to admit that she was thirsty. “Yes, Teacher, give me this water.” She said she knew that she was dying of thirst—that unless something changed, she would die. After five husbands, she was dying inside. But Jesus offers her this living water. Water that truly satisfies. Jesus mercifully offers those who are dying of thirst living water. Relief from the endless cycle of sin and shame. Sin and shame. Sin and shame. Relief from our past. Forgiveness. She says, “he told me everything I've ever done.” And although these words were not written, you could complete the statement with these: And he loved me just the same. It was this radical acceptance and forgiveness from a kind and merciful Messiah that delivered her from her desperate thirst. He knows everything, and he loves us just the same. Are you thirsty? He knows. And you have a kind and merciful Savior who is making a point of pursuing your heart to give you the water that will quench your desperate thirst. So drink well of that water. Remember that your Messiah is kind and he pursues your heart, knowing everything you've ever done and loving you just the same. Live in the light and joy of him and drink well. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Jesus is my shepherd. You have called me by my name into the life of the beloved. Here in the stillness, I remember that I am not alone. I belong to you and to the great communion of saints and sinners held together in your love. Remind me, Lord, that every breath is grace, every encounter is a chance to give what I have received—mercy without measure. When I forget who I am, when I lose my way, lead me again to still waters. Restore my soul, renew my hope. Reroute me in the joy of simply being yours. Amen. The Lord's Prayer: And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. A shocking twist in Devil's Den: a teacher has been arrested for the brutal double murder of a local couple, sending shockwaves through the quiet community. New details are emerging about the gruesome crime scene and the hidden life of the suspect—sparking intense online interest and a growing demand for justice. A 28‑year‑old teacher, James Andrew McGann, has been charged with two counts of capital murder in the fatal stabbing of Clinton David Brink (43) and Cristen Amanda Brink (41), who were attacked while hiking with their two young daughters at Devil's Den State Park, Arkansas, on July 26, 2025. McGann was arrested on July 30 at a Springdale barbershop, after DNA evidence, video footage, and public tips linked him to the crime; he had no prior criminal record and was recently hired as a teacher in Arkansas. Authorities say the attack appears to be random and unprovoked, with no known motive or connection between McGann and the Brinks yet, who had just moved to Arkansas from another state to begin a new life. Investigators continue to search for answers about motive while the justice system prepares for possible death penalty or life without parole, depending on outcome—although no motive has yet been disclosed.More of STS:Links: Https://linktr.ee/stspodcastGet Joel's Book: Https://amzn.to/48GwbLxSTS Merch: Https://www.bonfire.com/store/sts-store/Support the show on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SurvivingTheSurvivorCatch us live on YouTube: Surviving The Survivor: #BestGuests in True Crime - YouTubeVenmo Donations: @STSPodcast or Https://www.venmo.com/stspodcast#doublemurder #murdermystery #truestory #truecrimepodcast #newsheadlines #arkansas #arrest #teacher #devilsden

Should your subscription box be available all the time or only during specific launch windows? It's one of the most common questions I get inside Launch Your Box. But here's the truth… It's not about whether your cart is open or closed. It's about whether you're giving people a reason to subscribe right now. In this week's Friday Fuel episode of The Launch Your Box Podcast, I'm breaking down the difference between open cart and closed cart subscription models, the pros and cons of each, and what really moves the needle when it's time to grow your subscriber count. I also share a simple strategy that works with either model to create urgency and excitement: the launch bonus with examples you can use without spending a fortune. Open Cart Subscription Model Your subscription box is always live, and subscribers can join at any time. It's simple and steady, but it lacks urgency. You have to create your own momentum. Closed Cart Subscription Model You open the cart for a limited window a few times a year. It builds buzz and urgency, but only if you show up and promote it well. Both work. I've used both. But the most important thing? YOU are the one who creates urgency. It's about how you talk about your box, how you show up, and whether or not you give people a reason to say yes this week. When I launched my Monogram Box™ in April, I offered a free monogram tee to anyone who subscribed that week. That bonus helped me sell out 432 spots. The bonus worked again during my July teacher launch, when I offered a personalized “Teacher” tee to new subscribers. That simple extra created urgency and excitement. And brought in results. Whether your cart is open or closed, a bonus can help you say, “This week matters. Here's why.” Try one of these subscriber-worthy extras: An exclusive item they can't get anywhere else A personalized detail like a name or monogram A small gift that matches your box's theme A digital download or printable Leftover inventory from a previous month Your bonus doesn't have to be expensive—it just has to be timely and thoughtful. Your Friday Fuel Action Step Map out your next launch bonus. Ask yourself: What could I offer that feels special and simple? When will I offer it and when will it end? How will I promote it through email, social, and your website? Write it down. Plug it into your calendar. And remember: when you're excited, your audience will be, too. Join me for this episode and find out why it's not about whether your subscription box is open or closed – it's about getting people to say yes. How Did Devils Den Suspect James McGann Go From Teacher To Terrorist James Andrew McGann appeared to be an ordinary elementary school teacher, quietly moving from district to district without arousing suspicion. However, behind this facade lay disturbing allegations of inappropriate behavior and systemic neglect that allowed him to continue teaching despite clear red flags. McGann's troubling journey took him from Oklahoma to Texas and finally to Arkansas, where he was set to start yet another teaching job shortly before his arrest for a brutal double homicide. This in-depth episode reveals the alarming ease with which problematic teachers can evade accountability, a grim phenomenon known as "passing the trash." We uncover how repeated transfers between schools, a lack of mandatory reporting policies, and non-existent communication between school districts created the perfect environment for someone like McGann to thrive undetected. As whispers of inappropriate interactions with young students circulated quietly without formal charges, McGann exploited loopholes in employment practices, maintaining a seemingly clean record. On July 26, 2025, the dark truth behind McGann's facade came to light in a horrifying attack at Devil's Den State Park. This shocking act of violence has forced communities nationwide to confront the reality of systemic failures within the education system and the desperate need for reform. We examine proposed solutions, such as comprehensive legislation, mandatory inter-district communication, and stronger vetting procedures, to prevent future tragedies. Join us as we peel back the layers on James Andrew McGann's unsettling story, exposing critical gaps in policy and raising urgent questions about protecting our communities and children from individuals hiding in plain sight. Daily Devotions from Lutheran Hour Ministries

Luke 12:13-21 - Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or arbitrator over you?” And He said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”' But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

This episode of The Patrick Madrid Show is tender, raw, and packed with grace. It all starts with an email from Aaron, a Catholic school teacher who teaches grades 2–8. His school just suffered a devastating tragedy: a young boy — just about to enter sixth grade — was killed in an accident. Aaron, heartbroken, is reaching out for help. He's thinking ahead: how do I help my students process this? What do I say when they ask, “Why did God allow this?” What Patrick Said: “Words can only go so far.” He starts there — with brutal honesty. When your heart is shattered, “God is with you” can feel... empty, even if it’s true. Patrick encourages him to use the moment as a “Catechetical Popcorn Trail” Start small and lay the groundwork. Help kids understand why death even exists by going back to Adam and Eve, the Fall, and the entrance of sin into the world. This tragedy, as awful as it is, becomes a gateway into the bigger story of salvation. “Death is not natural. It’s not how we were meant to live.” God created us for life, forever, with Him. Death entered through sin. That helps kids understand their instincts are right — this feels wrong because it is wrong. But that’s not the end... Jesus didn’t just die — He conquered death. Kids can look at the crucifix with new eyes. He chose to suffer, chose to die, so that death wouldn’t be the final word for us. But Also... Teach Them This: Original Sin is not the same as personal sin. Patrick offers a great analogy: Imagine your billionaire parents lose all their wealth due to a crime. You didn't do anything, but you still lose the inheritance. That’s original sin. Through baptism, God gives it all back, and more. This boy might be in heaven. Patrick encourages Aaron to comfort the students with hope — if the boy was in 5th grade, it would make sense that he probably never committed a mortal sin. That’s theologically solid hope. Teach them how to pray for him, through offering Masses and praying the Chaplet. Let them participate in his journey to Heaven. The Most Beautiful Part At the end of the show, Aaron calls in; he just wants to say thank you. You can hear how much he loves his students and how much he’s leaning on the Holy Spirit. It’s one of those quiet holy moments that makes you realize the Church is so alive in people like him. If You’re a Teacher, Parent, or Just a Catholic Who Cares… This episode is worth your time. It reminds us that grief is the place faith speaks loudest. Our job isn’t to “fix” grief. It’s to walk through it with others, pointing to the Cross... and beyond it, to the Resurrection. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

They talk a lot about culture in schools/education. What’s really driving teacher burnout, student disengagement, and poor behaviour in schools? In this compelling conversation, I’m joined by Adam Voigt—former principal, education thought leader, and founder of Real Schools—to explore why culture, not curriculum, is the true heart of great education. From phone bans to shocking increases in sexualised behaviour, we unpack the most pressing issues in today’s classrooms—and how families can play a vital role in shaping school culture for the better. KEY POINTS: Why phone bans work—and the student-led secret to getting buy-in from kids The disturbing rise of sexualised behaviour and harassment in schools Teacher burnout: why it’s getting worse and how to turn it around How shame, not badness, drives poor behaviour—and what restorative practices offer instead The 3 consistent challenges teachers face: student behaviour, workload, and parent interactions Why building school culture is the most powerful thing a school can do How culture improves outcomes for students, teachers, and parents alike QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: “We need to reclaim how we work—not just the classroom. When schools focus on culture, every stakeholder benefits.” – Adam Voigt RESOURCES MENTIONED: Restoring Teaching by Adam Voigt – Free eBook, audiobook & print-at-cost version Adam’s organisation: Real Schools Happy Families resources for families and schools: happyfamilies.com.au ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Be a culture builder at your child’s school. Ask the principal or teacher, “What’s our school’s culture—and how can I support it?” Talk to your child about phone use—and help them practice face-to-face connection at home. Model respectful behaviour, especially around teachers. Show your child that respect is foundational, not optional. Challenge inappropriate content and conversations early. Don’t wait for school to step in—your voice matters first. Share Adam’s book with your school’s leadership team. It’s a small gesture that could shift the culture in big ways.
