Paul Herrold of the Sons of Speed sits in for Jill this week. The hosts opened the show talking about the Genesis G70 small sedan which Paul is currently evaluating. He is generally pleased with the vehicle, which is popularly considered an alternative to the BMW 3-Series. The hosts went on to discuss new—and needed—federal guidelines for Emergency Automatic Braking systems, which all vehicles will be required to be equipped with for the 2029 model year. There is currently a confusing array of systems offered, with varying degrees of functionality. Still in the first segment Tom had Paul guess which small crossovers were voted most popular in a recent series of Twitter/X polls. Listen in to hear how Paul did. In the second segment Paul and Tom welcome Sam Fiorani of AutoForecast Solutions back to the show. After talking about the recent uptick in hybrid sales, Sam explained the significance of a recent deal forged between Stellantis and Chinese EV start-up Leapmotors. Sam also explained why carmakers and trade wonks are so concerned about Chinese auto-related manufacturing in Mexico, and the potential impact of cars such as the $10,000 BYD Seagull on the U.S EV market. In the last segment Paul is subjected to Tom's “Fake Trim Level” quiz, after which the hosts discussed the new Chevrolet Blazer EV PPV police vehicle.

Study looks at link between types of firearm ownership and support for political violence. Also, gas prices are on the rise. Plus, why California's electric vehicle industry is slowing down. Finally, the Sacramento Orchid Society's 75th anniversary. Study on Firearm Ownership and Political Violence is an emergency medicine physician and Director of the California Firearm Violence Research Center - the nation's first publicly funded center for research in this field to understand the nature of firearm violence and its underlying causes. Dr. Wintemute joins us about their latest study published today about firearm ownership and support for political violence in the US, which found that subsets of firearm owners - recent purchasers and those who always or nearly always carry loaded firearms when in public - raised the greatest concerns. Gas Prices & EV, Hybrid Sales It's springtime and that means gas prices are on the rise in California. Your favorite “cheap” gas station has probably seen a surge in pricing over the past few weeks. Meantime, sales of electric vehicles seem to be slipping, giving way to hybrids - which use gas. Joining us today to help make sense of it all are Alejandro Lazo, Climate reporter for CalMatters, and John Treanor, spokesperson for AAA Northern California. How Oracle NetSuite Organized a Hybrid Sales Kickoff that Boosts Sales Performance with Lisa Bono; Ever been to a sales kickoff that felt more like a lullaby than an energy boost? Let's face it, a real sales kickoff is meant to do three things: Motivate... Inspire... Educate... This year, Oracle NetSuite turned up the heat with a thrilling theme that was right up my street: the magic of storytelling. And with their one and only Lisa Bono, we're diving into exactly what it takes to organize a world class sales kickoff. Without further wait, let's get it! WHAT WE DISCUSS: [1:17] - Who is Lisa Bono? [9:49] - What actually is a sales kickoff (SKO)? [10:45] - Why NetSuite chose storytelling as their SKO theme [14:21] - The power of customer stories [15:43] - Unlocking the power of “storyselling” [19:16] - High level steps to organize a hybrid sales kickoff [26:16] - Lisa's secret weapon to reinforce all learnings [31:09] - The KPIs which storyselling will have the most impact [33:43] - Trying to organize an SKO that pleases the masses [40:31] - One costly mistake Lisa and her team made in the runup to their SKO [43:18] - An influential communicator Lisa looks up to today LISA'S HIGH LEVEL STEPS TO ORGANIZE A HYBRID SALES KICKOFF: What theme are we trying to hit on and what message are we trying to deliver? How can we create learnings which are congruent with our theme? How can we ensure the learnings are applicable across departments? How can we reinforce the learnings for real behavioral change? Are we logistically setup for a hybrid experience? Are we acknowledging the emotional state of our audience and the current market? NOTABLE QUOTES: [10:00] - “ A sales kickoff is an event meant to bring (potentially) all employees together to do three things: motivate, inspire, and educate.” - Lisa Bono [16:41] - “As a seller, you really want to be succinct and concise with your words, and I think that's the hardest thing to teach about storytelling.” - Lisa Bono [37:23] - “I used to always think, as a seller, people buy from people they like. I think audience members appreciate enablement: facilitators that speak their language, that understand their perspective, that put themselves in the person on the other side's shoes, as opposed to kind of taking that teacher mentality.” - Lisa Bono USEFUL RESOURCES & LINKS: Oracle NetSuite website: https://www.netsuite.com Connect with Lisa on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/winwithbono Ravi Rajani's Website & Podcast: https://www.theravirajani.com/podcast Connect with Ravi on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ravirajani/ Follow Ravi on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@theravirajani Subscribe and watch the show on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3eAJQx0 ADDITIONAL RESOURCES: [FREE SCRIPT] Discover how to craft a magnetic 45-second elevator story: https://www.theravirajani.com/yourelevatorstory Hire Ravi for a keynote or storyselling workshop for your sales team: https://www.theravirajani.com/speaking Join The Influential Communicator Newsletter: https://theinfluentialcommunicator.ck.page/newsletter

Post pandemic, most sales enablement teams are leveraging learning management systems (LMS) to help remote and hybrid sales teams become better trained, competent and engaged. To better understand the best practices which sales enablement pros are leveraging to accomplish this, I had the pleasure of interviewing Jennifer Kling, Vice President of Marketing, for LMS solution provider SAP Litmos. In this interview, Jennifer discusses the "art of the possible" in remote training, video and mobile learning, and coaching, and outlines the three key priorities for 2022: 1) Mobile learning, 2) Sales leader advancement and growth, 3) Enabling hybrid workforce training / learning. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jenniferdkling/ #LMS #salestraining #salescoaching #mobilelearning
Greg Uland, vice president of brand marketing for Reynolds and Reynolds, discusses digital and online retailing and the benefits of a hybrid business model.
Just like for many other industries, hiring sales positions has inherited problems because of the pandemic. In today's episode of The Sales Evangelist, Donald is joined by Brian Trautschold, COO and co-founder of sales management platform Ambition, to discuss three things companies can do to navigate a hybrid sales workforce. Whether you're a huge company or just a dozen people, COVID is evening the hiring playing field, and integrating these three components can help you acquire the kind of employees you want. Build a company culture, whether it be virtual or in-person. Some company cultures are just fake - think Michael Scott trying to build a culture at Dunder Mifflin. When creating your own company culture, the key is to be authentic. Recognize people as they reach their milestones, and show genuine care for your employees and their aspirations. Especially when employees don't have the support of an in-person team, it's easy to lose motivation without recognition. Engage your workforce to overcome distractions. There are no shortage of distractions in the virtual workplace. Whether it's an extended lunch or a quick Netflix binge, the typical 9-5 is more elusive than ever. To give your employees the greatest chance for success, provide easy-to-use tools to hold themselves accountable. People are better at holding themselves accountable than management, especially in a virtual setting. So equipping people with the tools for personal accountability to yield better results than a never-ending stream of Slack messages. People crave development, coaching, and investment from their employers. Pre-COVID, a great relationship with management is what kept many people working at their current job. (And vice versa.) The introduction to virtual work has broken this. While Slack can be helpful in communication, you need to have a more proactive approach. As a manager, how do you optimize coaching interactions? The key is to keep track of what you discuss with your employees. Make action steps to help your employees reach their goals. Coaching can't be a one-off; it's a part of a narrative. Consider creating KPIs based on the coaching to set actionable steps towards their goals. One major takeaway? Consistent, data-driven coaching is the way of the future to develop happy and productive employees. Want to get in contact with Brian? Find him on his company website, LinkedIn, or Twitter.
