In this episode I interview Slovak entrepreneur Edita Angyalová from the Terzos company about the Productized Services Model. This is where companies develop and package their existing and sometimes new services into sellable products which they then promote in the Business to Business (B2B) marketplace. Edita emphasises the importance of high quality services which are effective and efficient being selected to be further developed into marketable products. We also discuss the process of packaging these products; price banding; the opportunities for selling products at scale; and the benefits of transparency and clarity which come from developing packaged products from a company's services. We discuss the origins of this business model and identify the key business segments or sectors which have adopted this model most effectively, namely: marketing agencies, IT software companies; consulting agencies; and some specific sectors such as architectural firms. Attention business owners and entrepreneurs! Are you tired of the hassle of paper invoices? It's time to make the switch to electronic invoicing and start using technology to your advantage! Not only will this save you time, but it will also save you money in the long run. Plus, electronic invoicing is more environmentally friendly! So, what exactly is electronic invoicing? Electronic invoicing, or e-invoicing, is the process of sending and receiving invoices electronically, rather than on paper. This means that instead of printing and mailing out invoices, you can send them directly to your customers' email inboxes or accounting systems. One of the biggest benefits of electronic invoicing is that it saves you time. With electronic invoicing, you can automate your invoicing process, which means you don't have to spend time manually creating and sending out invoices. This frees up your time to focus on other important tasks in your business. Electronic invoicing also saves you money. By automating your invoicing process, you can reduce the number of errors in your invoicing and avoid late payments, which can lead to additional costs. You can also save money on printing, paper, and postage costs. Another benefit of electronic invoicing is that it's more environmentally friendly. By reducing the amount of paper you use, you're helping to conserve natural resources and reduce your carbon footprint. This is not only good for the environment, but it can also improve your brand image and reputation. So, how can you streamline your invoicing process and make the switch to electronic invoicing? First, you'll need to contact us and we can help find you the best electronic invoicing solution that works for your business. There are many options available, including online invoicing software and invoicing apps. Once you've chosen an electronic invoicing solution, you must set up your invoicing process. This may involve integrating your invoicing software with your accounting system or setting up automatic invoice reminders. We can help with that as well. Finally, you'll need to communicate with your customers about the switch to electronic invoicing. Let them know how they will receive their invoices and provide any necessary instructions. In conclusion, electronic invoicing is a great way to streamline your invoicing process, save time and money, and reduce your environmental impact. Don't wait any longer to make the switch to electronic invoicing. Say goodbye to paper invoices and hello to the benefits of technology!

Email marketing is still one of the preferred methods of B2B marketing. Consider some of the following best practices to ensure you're winning with your email marketing strategy: Play the long game, keep it educational, and invest in email campaigns that drip on prospects for several weeks or months. Have a clear USP and be consistent – both in messaging and timing. Certain types of content perform better at certain stages of the buyer's journey than others. Focus on the customer. Stop focusing on why you're so great and start focusing on what the customer wants. LinkedIn is an important social media platform for B2B marketers. It has a rich internal search engine that can be used to filter and find top prospects. LinkedIn isn't a fast play, but rather a slow, gradual relationship building that moves the right prospects through the funnel. Business-to-business marketing is one of two major types of marketing. Successful B2B marketing involves a combination of strategies, mediums, and channels. It combines both digital and traditional marketing tools with the ultimate goal of maximizing exposure and driving engagement and conversions. B2C marketing targets the needs, challenges, and interests of individual consumers. The B2B buyer's journey rarely plays out in a predictable, linear fashion. Understanding what it looks like will help you understand how to craft an effective marketing strategy that moves a lead through the process from awareness to conversion. There are a lot of steps involved in a B2B customer's journey. Buyers may jump from one stage to another and back again. Marketing is tailored to each stage so that prospects aren't stuck on one stage for too long. The three stages of the buyer's journey are awareness, consideration, and decision. The credit card brands Visa and MasterCard have a list of emerging businesses where there is not a lot of credit card volume. They call those businesses emerging markets and get special "Interchange fees," which we discuss in the podcast. Interchange is the bulk of the bill you are paying to your credit card processor - but in some cases, if you are $25K or more -and you are in one of the following businesses, you can save quite a bit of money, making it worth your while to call us and learn more. Insurance companies Fuel Dealers - not limited to gas stations Child Care Services Subscription services Direct Marketing Telecommunications Education Schools Utilities Government Charities Non-Profits Just like a CPA saves you money on your taxes, we are the cost cutters when it comes to Interchange and uncovering the opportunities to get your business lower Interchange fees. Besides these businesses, quite a few other companies have special Interchange fees, and we work very hard to keep track of the changes. We can identify an opportunity when we look at a statement. Our discussion expands from complex B2B sales to how the “inflection point” concept can be applied to other areas of startups and enterprise sales, including “selling” your team and investors on your idea as a startup founder.  Visit https://satchel.works/@wclittle/ventures-episode-36 for detailed notes and links to resources (videos, articles, etc…) mentioned. You can watch this episode via video here. In this episode we cover the following:  1:01 - Sol tee-up and introduction of Steve2:40 - Steve introduction, background, and story of True Sales Results.5:23 - Sol's reflections of meeting Steve and learning about sales leadership.6:35 - Did Steve always have the personality of a salesperson even in his childhood? 9:10 - Backing up, what is sales? What kind of characteristics do you need to be good at sales?15:27 - Business to Business (B2B) buyers are interested primarily in purchasing business outcomes. (Sol talking about his past as a Sales Engineer). 17:36 - Deep dive discovery and discernment process as part of True Sales Results services, including talking to customers of customers.21:30 - For a growing startup, from an education perspective, how do you build and scale a sales team?27:17 - Not as simple as having someone in your network shadow you...it requires building story narratives and the types of things that True Sales Results provides for their clients. (hint: not “rolodex selling”)32:55 - Sol reflecting on early bootcamps with Steve, learning functional sales techniques, including understanding “the inflection point” during the buyer's journey. 35:42 - Steve reflecting on Sol's video testimonial in a busy conference hall36:24 - During the discovery process with Steve's customer's customers, Steve uncovers the emotion during the decision making process. The emotional impact. Sales people are good at making people feel very uncomfortable. Example question to ask: “What is the cost of doing nothing” ? 38:00 - More discussion around “the inflection point”. 40:40 - Making a buyer “troubled” to get to the inflection point. Examples from cybersecurity. 42:37 - Sol recalling a story that Steve shared in the past around buying a car...about a customer coming to the inflection point.45:40 - Other examples outside of Cybersecurity. (e.g. AI/Medtech). The inflection point is literally life or death for some buyers (such as hospitals). 55:02 - Remapping sales stages. Thinking you know why your customers buy your stuff (and being wrong).57:01 - What can founders learn from the insights from this episode regarding “selling” their team, investors, partners, etc… (including themselves). 59:31 - Avoid random acts of selling. Focus. Lessons learned. Sol recommends focusing on the problem, understanding it from multiple angles...and then, understanding if it's valuable to make the problem go away…..then innovate. 1:01:29 - The best way to convince a team and investors to join you is to focus on the business outcomes of your customers.1:02:08 - Where can we find Steve and Sol online? www.truesalesresults.com & https://www.linkedin.com/in/sol-cates-649736/

VENDEDOR CAÇADOR Este tipo de vendedor geralmente tramita no Mercado Business to Consumer ( B2C). O vendedor caçador é focado no curto prazo. A venda é feita de CNPJ para CPF. VENDEDOR FAZENDEIRO Já o vendedor Fazendeiro ( FARMER) atua geralmente no Business to Business (B2B). Seu perfil é focado na Venda de Longo Prazo. Geralmente demora semanas, meses e até anos para fechar um negócio. Seu foco principal está na fidelidade do cliente. No relacionamento a longo prazo. O marketing atuante é o Marketing Relacional. Pense nisso, VAI LÁ E AJA, bora, #BORABRILHAR !

For years, the relationship between brand and consumer has been one factor that has separated companies from their peers. But what do those same relationships mean when it comes to B2B companies? Is there the same customer satisfaction when it comes to businesses on a customer journey? “At the end of the day, businesses don't sell to businesses. Human beings sell to other human beings, and the ability to understand your customer, understand the pains that they're facing, how they make decisions and what part you can play, make their job’s and their lives easier is paramount to the success of a CMO.”That’s, Gina Hortatsos, the CMO of LogicGate, and on this episode of Marketing trends, she discusses why the customer journey for B2B companies needs to evolve. Plus, Gina dives into the best hiring practices and why a small, but mighty team is the way to go.Main TakeawaysFeeling Risky: Risk management is harder than it has ever been. With more and more employees working remotely, the number of potential employees exposed to security and privacy risks has increased as well. Companies can no longer rely on the structures they had in place before. In order to manage risk, you have to have a system in place.Selling To A Person, Not a Business: B2B companies are drastically behind their B2C counterparts when it comes to personalizing the customer journey for their clients. At the end of the day, companies have to remember they are selling to other humans and must have a better understanding of the pain points those customers are facing and how they make decisions, then create an experience that addresses those things. You Need An Attitude Adjustment: When looking at your hiring process, identify core pillars. For LogicGate, three key elements they look at when analyzing potential employees are intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, and, most importantly, a candidate’s attitude.---Marketing Trends podcast is brought to you by Salesforce. Troy is one of the most amazing and inspiring people I know. I first met him when I moved to Chicago in the mid-2010s, and his generosity, enthusiasm, and support for founders has been consistently admirable and contagious. Many who have worked with him over the years have noticed his exceptional and inspiring generosity, where did that come from? What's behind that? 30:21 - Going back to Troy's early companies, once he noticed a semblance of Product-Market Fit, how did Troy navigate the dance between managing growth and product? 40:20 - What advice does Troy have for someone who has a day job and has an idea for a startup? (Check out the Jobs to Be Done and Clayton Christensen Milkshake, specifically this short video)45:25 - In the startup landscape, is “Business to Business” (B2B), “Consumer” (B2C), and “Marketplaces” roughly the broad categories out there, and how do entrepreneurs know whether their startup in each model is “validated”? (It's an art form, and “it depends”, but a key thing to look for is engagement)51:03 - How should entrepreneurs with a validated idea - or idea they think is validated - go about the process of practically building the product? 55:54 - What advice does Troy have for founders looking for a technical co-founder? 1:00:40 - When a founder finds a potential technical co-founder, how should they practically engage? What are the first steps? How do they set up clear communication and expectations? 1:08:22 - How should founders think about fundraising? Who are the players and what are the stages? 1:13:25 - A word on financial modeling and the importance for founders to build one (Troy and I co-wrote an article series here on Financial modeling, including a practical example).1:17:53 - Where can people find out more about Troy, MATH Venture Partners, and the videos he's put together? https://www.mathventurepartners.com/

The sun rises. We wake, shower, dress. And then it's off to work. The daily commute. Traffic, or waiting for the train. We arrive at our office. We sit.The day goes by. Meetings, calls, and deliverables. A break for lunch, then back we go. Eight hours pass and we pack our things and leave for home—maybe stop for happy hour on the way. We rest, we eat. The sun sets and we go to bed.Tomorrow, it will rise again.Days become weeks, then months, then years. And those years become careers. A life measured in promotions and projects, job titles, and three-year stints. For most of us, this is the way things are. The only way we were ever told that they could be.And so we wake up, day after day, week after week, and continue to walk the path that we're on.But not all of us.Some of us wake one morning with an itch. We step out of the current and ask ourselves: is this it? Will my life be measured in quarterly figures? Is the sum of my life's contribution going to be totaled in lines of code? Or is there something more?Three and a half years ago, Tim Chow asked himself that very question. It wasn't that he was unhappy, unfulfilled, or unrewarded—six years in, he had just received a lucrative offer to continue his sales career as part of his employer's acquisition by a larger company. The pay and benefits were good, and Tim enjoyed what he did. But something was bothering him:"It really scared me to think that I'd spent five, six, seven years in this world without much critical thought—without thinking about whether this was what I really wanted to do. I don't have that many five-year stints."On today's episode, Tim describes how he worked through this period of doubt, emerging on the other side as a professional photographer and videographer. From his humble beginnings as a wedding and family photographer, to his recent work as co-founder of Wilco Productions, Tim illustrates how success can sometimes be the thing that traps us, how entrepreneurs can combine what we know with what we love, and how the hardest part of anything is getting started. We also coverHow Tim got started as a photographer and videographer. The difference between running a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) company. How Tim taught himself photography and videography. How leveraging your existing skills can change the kind of business you run.The pros and cons of having a business partner. You can find out more about Tim and catch his killer reel on his company's website and follow him on Instagram here.

In episode 123, I speak with Stacy Sherman about the power of a transformational customer experience. Everyone is used to interacting with a business in a transactional way, but when a business can make a transaction into a transformation, that's when magic happens! In our conversation we discuss how to make this happen by starting at the top and moving down. If the executives are seeking to increase their own wellbeing, they will naturally desire to make the wellbeing of their employees a priority. And when the employee wellbeing and happiness becomes a priority, it can impact the bottomline in a tangible way. In other words, customer satisfaction begins with employee satisfaction and employee satisfaction begins with executive wellbeing. We also discussed how a business can create a "wow moment" by simply connecting with their customers. I shared an example of going to Smashburger on my wedding day and being wowed and she shared an experience she had of being wowed during an experience with the owner of The Lodge at Woodloch who made a genuine connection with her and her family. It seems simple, but it's powerful and it keeps customers talking. Here I am talking about Smashburger and Woodloch! Stacy's advice for people who want to have a more happy life: Stacy Sherman"Be intentional and purposeful about how you experience your day" She does this with an app she uses called The Five Minute Journal that prompts you to record your intentions for the day, what you're grateful for, what you will do to make your day go well, and how you could have improved the day. It's the simple things! If you don't already have a journaling routine to boost positive emotion, this sounds like a good app. She also emphasized the importance of surrounding yourself with people who support your goals and who don't deflate your confidence. This is critical! More About Stacy: Stacy Sherman is known for expertise in designing & implementing successful Customer-Centric programs that differentiate Business (B2B) & Consumer (B2C) brands beyond price. She coaches individuals & leads teams to deploy best in class methodologies & closed-loop processes. She’s currently Director, Customer Experience (CX) & Employee Engagement at Schindler Elevator Corporation (USA), where she’s contributing to record-breaking Net Promoter (NPS) results, Y/Y revenue growth & portfolio protection. Recent accomplishments: 2019 Finalist “CX Leader of the Year” and “CXPA Impact” awards. Besides CX, Stacy’s led Digital Marketing & Website Conversion Optimization for reputable brands of all sizes & budgets including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Martha Stewart, ADP, Wilton and more. She’s produced multi-billion dollar sales while increasing customer satisfaction (C-Sat) and Effort scores within cost per acquisition targets. People who work at a for-profit organization are likely sleeping with their work. The first thing many Americans do when they wake up: reach for their phone. The eyes are barely open, squinting to adjust to the blue light and one finger scrolling through the emails that were received while asleep. When asked, “if you read an email immediately upon waking up at 6:00 am, when do you respond?”. The average and most frequent response is “6:01 am”. The majority of for-profit employees are sleeping with their career. Employers are likely to expect their employees to check their email and engage with vendors, clients, and team members when the email is received. Frequency of communication and the ability to respond quickly are desired abilities by employers, including while the employee is out-of-the-office. The out-of-office auto-reply may be turned on, yet the vacationing employee is not turned off, which signifies an imbalance in life-work balance and the potential quality of output. Business-to-Business (B2B) clients are likely to engage with their emails while on vacation because they have a fear of missing out, a fear of not being relevant, and a fear of losing their employment.

Historically, Business to Business (B2B) marketing has lived up to the stereotype of being stale and dry. While often lacking the creativity that is often found in Business to Consumer (B2C) marketing, a new era has arrived across all industries of B2B. With a disruptive mindset, and a focus on engaging prospects and audiences with information, educational, inspiring stories, marketers today are removing the stereotype that once existed. From creative storytelling in video, to the prominent use of infographics and podcast shows, marketing is rapidly changing in B2B. In this Careers Podcast with MarketScale's VP of Business Development, Tim Maitland, we dive into our open role of Business Development Director. This full-time, Dallas-based role is fit for a forward-thinking, growth-minded individual looking to sell through creative problem-solving and leadership. When presented with a goal, this role must use all of the tools at hand to achieve it. As a new and evolving position, this role will be molded by the distinct individual that fills its shoes. So what are the most important traits for this position? Maitland asserts that the individual must relish “embracing struggles and providing solutions.” Creatively getting deals with Fortune 500 clients and prospects is integral, and confident leadership is a must. Marketscale caters to 14 different markets, from transportation and food & beverage, to IoT and energy, and therefore the Business Development Director must love learning and understanding these wildly diverse industries. So what is it like to work at Marketscale? Tim Maitland sums it up most succinctly in this simple analogy: If Marketscale were a band, it would be the Beatles–genre-bending, innovative, and fresh on the scene. Apply today!

Probably the most significant aspect of product management is the ability to gather feedback from customers and use that feedback to uncover core needs. While we all likely understand the importance of this activity, frankly most organizations don’t do it very well.  Generally speaking, Business to Consumer (or B2C) companies seem to have figured this out a little better than most Business to Business (B2B) companies. While there may be myriad reasons for that, there is a lot to be learned from voice of customer mechanisms employed by many B2C organizations.
