Accesso Technology Group PLC (LSE:ACSO, OTC:LOQPF) chief executive Steve Brown talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about trading momentum after June's heat-wave, the integration of recent acquisitions, upcoming AI features and how the company is thinking about capital allocation. Brown said July and August trading returned to expectations after a softer June, noting that “what we lost in June, we gained in July,” with August looking “more in line with our expectations.” He outlined how a refreshed commercial focus is improving win rates by narrowing teams onto specific products (including Paradocs, Horizon, 1RISK and Freedom) and strengthening sales enablement — from faster responses to better proposals — so sales directors are better supported. On M&A, Brown explained the strategic fit of 1RISK, a waiver platform widely used by Accesso's ski customers, producing roughly 4–5 million waivers annually. Bringing it in-house should allow deeper product integration and provide a competitive edge, with use cases extending beyond ski to projects such as Horizon deployments in Saudi Arabia. Looking ahead, Accesso is developing voice-based, self-service ordering — for example, booking tickets via natural speech and completing payment through Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Prototypes for Passport and Freedom are complete, with a debut in the coming months and general availability targeted for next year. On the outlook, Brown highlighted resilient cash generation and said the company will prioritise acquisitions but could consider buybacks or other returns depending on opportunities and valuation. Adjusting for a one-off hardware sale last year, revenue was up 1.2% on a constant-currency basis. “We'll continue to focus on acquisitions first… and if we don't see the acquisition opportunities there, we're going to focus on buybacks and other ways to return that capital to our shareholders,” he said. How does a state like Arizona – not even in existence when the Declaration of Independence was signed – celebrate America's 250th birthday? Secretary of State Adrian Fontes joins us to share the ambitious and creative plans underway for America 250 AZ, a multi-year celebration culminating in 2026.Far from being just another patriotic party, this semi-quincentennial celebration showcases Arizona's unique perspective on American history. As Fontes explains, our land was very much "in existence" in 1776, home to indigenous peoples and later visited by Spanish explorers (including Fontes' own ancestors). This rich tapestry of cultures continues to define Arizona's approach to commemorating national milestones. The centerpiece of Arizona's celebration is Passport 250, a statewide initiative encouraging residents and visitors to explore the Grand Canyon State through themed experiences. From Dine 250 promoting local eateries to Hike 250 showcasing our natural beauty, each program invites participation while supporting local communities. The Liberty Bell project will create a mobile museum around Arizona's replica Liberty Bell, touring communities throughout the state before returning to a new ceremonial base containing time capsules for future generations.Perhaps most inspiring is the story behind the America 250 AZ logo, created by a 17-year-old high school student whose artwork now heads to the Smithsonian. This exemplifies what Fontes sees as the celebration's core message: how ordinary individuals connect to our extraordinary collective achievement. Through this commemoration, he hopes Arizonans will gain both humility about our place in history and gratitude for those who helped build our society.Want to get involved? Visit https://azsos.gov/az250 to discover upcoming events and opportunities to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime celebration that brings together our past, present, and future as Arizonans and Americans. What if the birth certificate was never for your baby—but a tool of control used by the state? In this episode, I sit down with Veda Ray, a freebirthing mother of two, who chose to walk a path most women never even consider: birthing and raising her second child completely outside the system. No pregnancy test. No monitoring. No birth certificate. No social security number. After her first birth at a birth center, Veda knew she wanted something different. This time, she listened deeply—to her body, to her baby, and to her own intuition—and what she heard was clear: this child was to be born free.We go deep into the realities of living outside the system, including how she navigated the legal terrain to secure a passport without government-issued ID, why she believes the birth certificate is a jurisdictional trap, and the spiritual responsibility of saying no to the state's contracts.Inside this episode:What really happens when you don't get a birth certificate or Social Security number for your childThe process Veda used to get a passport without a state-issued IDWhy a “family Bible” can hold legal weight in proving lineage and identityHow the social security number binds your child into the U.S. corporate systemThe link between freebirth and reclaiming jurisdiction over your body and familyWhat it's like to raise a child who has never been registered by the stateThe unseen cost of outsourcing authority—and what you reclaim when you stopTimestamps:[00:00] Introduction[02:01] Choosing radical self-trust after rejecting the medical model[09:21] Learning to sit in the unknown and trust yourself through freebirth[22:54] Rethinking the birth certificate as a contract with the state and choosing a sovereign path instead[26:08] Creating private records to get a passport without a birth certificate[36:47] Using private trusts and EINs as alternatives to social security numbers and state contracts[52:44] Facing fear, claiming trust, and birthing in full sovereignty with family by your sideResources Mentioned:The Business of Being Born | MovieIf you want to connect with Veda, you can find her website here, and follow her @veda.revival.Find more from Emilee on Instagram, YouTube and the Free Birth Society website.Disclaimer: Free Birth Society, LLC of North Carolina shares personal and educational stories and experiences related to freebirth and holistic care. Slam The Gavel welcomes Jackie Sample from DuPage, Illinois to the podcast. Jackie shared what judges have put her through in the state court as well as in the federal level. Jackie was repeatedly and unreasonably threatened with jail by Judge Orel after stating that her spouse filed false financial affidavits and for allowing a reporter to interview her. Judge Orel was forced to retire in December 2024, however still collects a pension. Judge Alvarado also threatened Jackie for trying to present an emergency motion and blocked her from speaking. She also issued an unlawful order, then abruptly recused herself after Jackie noted these incidents. Another judge, Judge Cerne removed himself from her case after she noted him not allowing her to present her motion, representing her spouse from the bench and so much more. Now in a federal lawsuit, Judge Andrea Wood is beginning to follow the same pattern as the judges before her.... Do we really understand the value of product passports? As regulations like the Digital Product Passport take shape, many companies are focused on compliance. But the deeper question is whether we are using product data strategically: across lifecycles, across systems, and for actual circular value creation. In this episode, speakers explore how data can move beyond reporting requirements to become a driver of innovation, competitiveness, and business model transformation in the circular economy. Former U.S. Marine, whistleblower, and frontline activist Ken O'Keefe @TJPKenOKeefe exposes the Israel-Palestine conflict, war propaganda, and state power on episode 214 of the Far Out with Faust podcast.Ken O'Keefe is a former Marine turned human-rights activist known for the Gaza Freedom Flotilla and his daring “human shield” missions in Iraq. For years, he's confronted official narratives on war, sovereignty, and media manipulation — bringing raw firsthand experience and an unapologetic moral compass to some of the most uncomfortable conversations in geopolitics. In this conversation, Faust and Ken get specific about Gaza and the West Bank, how manufactured narratives shape public perception, and why free speech matters when history cuts against the grain. Ken traces his path from combat to dissent, calls out U.S. involvement abroad, argues for state sovereignty — even secession and state-run banks — and makes the case that empathy, love, and the family unit are the ultimate antidotes to a demoralized culture. In this episode:

As part of its ongoing work with the National Nuclear Security Administration, Anthropic is now working on a new tool designed to help detect when new AI systems output troubling discussions of nuclear weapons. Artificial intelligence systems have the potential to uncover all sorts of new chemical compounds. While many of those discoveries might be promising, and yield, for example, formulas to help propel nuclear energy sources, they might also risk outputting information that could make it easier to design a nuclear weapon. In a new blog post, the company said that along with the NNSA and the Energy Department's national laboratories, it's developed a classifier that's able to automatically determine whether nuclear conversation with an AI chatbot is benign or concerning, with 96% accuracy. The system was developed based on an NNSA-curated list of nuclear risk indicators. Individuals will soon be able to verify their identities using their passports on the General Services Administration's Login.gov platform, marking the agency's latest efforts to boost user friendliness on the single-sign-on service. According to a GSA announcement published Wednesday, individuals will soon be able to submit a picture of their passport's biographical page during Login.gov's identity proofing process. Once Login.gov receives a passport photo, it will then check the photo against passport records managed by the State Department, the GSA said, noting State manages a “privacy-preserving” API for this. Login.gov gives the public the option to log into multiple federal, state and local government websites using just one account once a user's identity is verified. Under its current format, users looking to create a Login.gov account are often required to take a picture of themselves and submit that with a photo of their state-issued ID or driver's license for comparison. The move to accept passports is part of a new partnership between GSA's Technology Transformation Services and the State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs, with the GSA describing it as a “first-of-its-kind partnership between federal agencies to use authoritative government records as a source for identity verification.” The Daily Scoop Podcast is available every Monday-Friday afternoon. Getting to know new people is one of the fun parts of travelling, and sometimes these encounters turn into long-term and even lifelong friendships. In this episode, my guests have wonderful stories to tell about the friends they have made on a trip - I found it very uplifting! First up, Heidi Brown describes how taking solo trips to indulge her love of U2 has led to a delightful network of similarly U2-obsessed friends, who continue to meet up around the world. I then chat with Shari Leid, who carried out a fantastic project having a meal with a stranger or near stranger in all fifty US states, making some good friends along the way. Finally, Steve Hoffman ponders the difficulties inherent in making lasting friendships when we travel and gives a great example of a friend he made while spending an extended period in rural France. Ep. 338: Jessica Kiang on Locarno 2025: The Best of the Postwar British Retrospective + Becoming Welcome to The Last Thing I Saw, with your host, Nicolas Rapold. This week I'm reporting from the Locarno film festival, which every year has an outstanding retrospective that's a parallel essential to the premieres of new films. To discuss this year's retro, a deftly curated tribute to British postwar cinema called Great Expectations, I'm joined by a regular guest, critic and programmer Jessica Kiang, who is filing reviews for Variety but also, like me, inhaling swathes of this retrospective. Titles discussed include Obsession (1949, Edward Dmytryk), The Yellow Balloon (1953, J. Lee Thompson), It Always Rains on Sundays (1947, Robert Hamer), Turn the Key Softly (1953, Jack Lee), To Be a Woman (1951, Jill Craigie), The Elephant Never Forgets (1953, John Krish), Train of Events (1949, Sidney Cole, Charles Crichton, Basil Dearden), Passport to Pimlico (1949, Henry Cornelius), The Happiest Days of Your Life (1950, Frank Launder), Time Without Pity (1957, Joseph Losey), and Never Let Go (1960, John Guillermin). Plus, just because: a bonus, brand-new film from Kazakhstan, Becoming (Zhannat Alshanova). Please support the production of this podcast by signing up at: rapold.substack.com Photo by Steve Snodgrass
