Change is an inevitable part of life that affects all of us. However, according to LinkedIn, women often find it more challenging to adapt to new developments. A report shows that 52% of women desire change but struggle to take the next steps. Many women face difficulties in moving away from behaviors that undermine their best interests. They often feel defeated by negative self-talk, compromise their own needs to please others, and yield to other people's demands.   Jennifer Rulon is a triathlon and fitness coach with over 22 years of experience and the owner of JenRulon.com. She holds a Master's Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science. As an author and speaker, her expertise has been featured in Triathlete Magazine, Runners World, on the TEDx stage, as a commencement speaker at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, in Men's Journal Online, and the New York Times in the article "Self-Motivation Strategies for Women." Jen practices what she preaches; she is a 15-time Ironman triathlete who qualified and participated in the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on October 14, 2017. The youngest of nine children, Rulon Gardner was raised on a dairy farm in Wyoming, where the family grew crops and milked cows twice a day. Rulon learned about hard work and determination which became core values in Rulon's life.As Rulon shares his story, he talks about how his upbringing has helped him deal with the adversity that has come his way. He also talks about his wrestling career which most knew little about until the 2000 Olympics and his match against one of the greatest athletes to have ever wrestled.Though it doesn't get as much attention as the “Miracle on Ice” at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Upstate New York, Rulon's Olympic match against Aleksandr Karelin of Russia in Sydney Australia is an equally impressive underdog story. Aleksandr, “The Russian Bear” was 12 lbs. at birth and a terrifyingly toned 287 pounds in his wrestling prime. He had allowed just a single point to be scored against him in the previous 10 years of competition; he hadn't lost a match in 13. Yeah, we talked all about what has now become known as the Miracle on the Mat during our talk story session. But Rulon also talks about other events (which include several brushes with death) that have made him who he is today.2000 Sydney Olympic match: https://youtu.be/oVT3-wbL8HU?si=5i14CojKHNBG7k1gWebsite: Rulongardner.comBook: Never Stop Pushinghttps://a.co/d/03f7dod

Warren's father, Rulon Jeffs became the prophet, and Warren was the heir apparent. Rulon made him the principal of a FLDS school, where Warren began crafting his warped view of Mormonism, and indoctrinating the students. When Rulon died, Warren assumed the role of prophet, and not only amped up the multiple wives, he also brought in child brides, and began trafficking young girls to creepy bootlicker men in the cult. He also instituted a set of the most draconian laws imaginable. Women were nothing more than breeding stock. Join us as we destroy this creep. Its a very rough story, but we get through it by brutally mocking Warren. Part 2 comes next Saturday. Twitter Facebook Instagram Website

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS Church) is a Fundamentalist Mormon denomination that practices Polygamy. The more wives and children a man has, the closer he is to heaven. A woman is groomed to serve their husband and have babies. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has denounced the FLDS and has no affiliation to them. Warren Jeffs assumed the position of "Prophet" of the FLDS in September 2002 after his father, Rulon died. As Prophet and President of the church, he would set people up to be married. In most cases, underaged girls would be forced to marry someone much older and possibly related to them. Warren Jeffs himself had as many as 78 wives. In 2006, he was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List after fleeing from charges of arranging marriage between adult followers and underaged girls. He was also charged in Texas with sexual assault of a minor and aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to Life in prison plus 20 years. When the FBI and local police search the FLDS ranch in Texas, they were aided by former members of the church. Hard evidence was found in a basement vault that contained marriage certificates and voice recordings of him sexually assaulting minors, one of them being 12 years old. Allegedly, he took 482 victims.

Rulon McKay joins with me on this episode to talk about the power of listening and change management. Rulon expands upon the power listening by discussing a week-long course he had on this characteristic of servant leadership and by highlighting a story about one of his first dates with his wife and the way she displayed true listening. Rulon also sheds light on what some would consider the "dark art" of change management by talking about the need for leaders to be dissatisfied with the current state in order to welcome new and innovative ideas. Rulon gives us some great perspective on recognizing people, illustrating some ways we can do this while also empowering them to show greater trust in them. Rulon compares servant leadership to parenting; reminding us that we should want people to surpass us and it is our role to help them become more competent than us. We should look at the individuals around us and ask ourselves what they need and what it is that qualifies them just enough to get more opportunities and responsibility. Rulon also displays a natural tendency to want to keep learning that helps him work to get even better while reminding us that we need to be focused on the future and the people that will take over our organizations after us.  Rulon McKay is a Senior Consultant with PeopleCore, a firm based in Pennsylvania. He spent the bulk of his career with Shell Oil Company as a Human Resource Manager. He has a Masters in Human Resources Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development. Rulon has trained and coached thousands of leaders over the courses of his career--from front line supervisors to Senior Executives. He also served as a member of leadership teams and, for two years, as the Chairman of the Contra Costa County Workforce development board in California. He and his wife Martha are the parents of five children and 11 grandchildren.

Born into the polygamous FLDS sect, Rebecca Musser claims that at 19, her father, Lloyd, forced her to marry 85-year-old Rulon Jeffs --the head of the church and considered a prophet by his followers. After seven years of marriage, Jeffs --who was said to have as many as 65 wives --died in 2002, and that's when Rebecca says she made her escape. Now 37, Rebecca, who recently authored The Witness Wore Red: The 19th Wife Who Brought Polygamous Cult Leaders to Justice, sits down with Dr. Phil and recounts the abuse she alleges she endured at the hands of fellow FLDS members and the day she says she found freedom. How did she learn to assimilate into society after being closed off from the outside world for so long? And, hear how she helped authorities build a child sexual assault case against Rulon's son, Warren Jeffs --who took control of the church when his father died --and other church leaders, who are now behind bars. Then, Rebecca's father confronts his daughter for what he says is a “book full of lies” and explains why he's threatening to sue. Why does he say Rebecca had a “fairytale life”?And, how does he answer to her allegation that he forced her to marry against her will? Rulon Clark Allred (March 29, 1906 – May 10, 1977) was a homeopath and chiropractor in Salt Lake City and the founder/leader of what is now the Apostolic United Brethren, a breakaway sect of polygamous Mormon fundamentalists in Utah, Colorado, Montana, and Arizona, United States. He was murdered on the orders of Ervil LeBaron, the head of a rival polygamous sect (Wikipedia). Vance Allred is Rulon's Allred's son, and at one point was a chief apologist for Mormon fundamentalist polygamy, and was being groomed to succeed his father as prophet of the AUB. In this three part series, Vance Allred discusses: Part 1: His father's rise to power, via the founding of the Apostolic United Brethren, and Vance's early years as the son of a polygamist prophet. Part 2: The events leading up to Rulon Allred's assassination, and Vance's candid critique of his father's work, and  Part 3: The sexual abuse in the AUB that led Vance to leave the AUB, and the events that led Vance to join the LDS church (requiring an interview with two LDS apostles).  Finally, Vance discusses the factors that led to him becoming inactive LDS.

Why 30? This is the magic age. I thought it was all BS too, but once I crossed 30 years old, I noticed more aches, more pain, less energy, and in general, a feeling of not being quite the same. If you feel terrible and you aren't 30 years old, you have more trouble than you realize. Why? Because every decade after that gets harder, degeneration accelerates, nutritional deficiencies compound, and your ability to heal, in general, declines. Take advantage of youth. If you are like me, and well north of 30, then life can still be great, it just takes a little more work. Hence, this 6 part series. We are going to walk through a basic plan to get most health conditions resolved. -----------------Quick office update------------------------------------------ We have officially moved to Murray, Utah. Hours, directions, pics Check online SLCSAW.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take a quick look through the list above. If you have no problems in this section, congrats. If you do, why do you think the problems exist? "Why" is the best question to ask. For this particular section, these are all nervous system problems. What I didn't tell you on the graphic, is that there are parasympathetic and sympathetic problems mixed in. Those 2 parts of your nervous system control how you speed up and slow down your body. Are your organs running like the cartoon road runner or being dragged through the mud by a horse? If the balance is off, you will be off. There is a combination of chiropractic needs and nutritional problems mixed in there. Earlier in the year, I put out a quick survey on what interests readers the most. Guess what was the run away winner? Detoxification. I'm cool with that. It's incredibly important in the modern age. So why am I not starting with that? Well, there are two main reasons. #1 I used to consult with people about nutrition and supplements 15 years ago. Back then, It was mainly over the phone. After 5 years of doing that, I noticed something that changed how I did everything. The people not getting adjusted by a chiropractor, even in their home towns, did significantly worse, no matter what supplements they took. Your nervous system is the master of your body. If it isn't balanced, nothing else works right. #2 Dr. Nuzum said it best. He is a toxicologist with 7 doctorates. "If you are nutrient deficient, you are a toxic sponge." To give you an example, if you are iodine deficient, you will soak up fluorine and chlorine to block the function of iodine. That spells bad news for your thyroid. We will get to detoxification, but we have a few things to cover first and to get you ready for that. If you have or still have problems in section one, I'll bet you want to know why? There are a lot of variables at play here. How old you are, how long the problems been there, what you eat, what your hobbies are, your work environment, your stress level, etc. It ultimately boils down to your ability to heal. I even put a video online of a guy who was remarkably better in just a few visits, I interviewed him on his lifestyle. He ate amazing food. Two years ago, I wrote an article on accelerated healing. It was about my wife and an injury that left her unable to walk and 13 days later she ran a 1/2 marathon, on trails in Moab, Ut. What I've noticed over the years is that healing takes time. Often times, patients ability to heal is outpaced by their lifestyle, hobbies, or work stresses. When my daughter broke her leg, she needed time to heal and not be training for a 5k. You might remember Rulon Gardner from The Biggest Loser or the Olympics. He won an Olympic gold medal against a guy who hadn't lost in 13 YEARS. He retired in 2004 and didn't take good care of himself. He ballooned up to 474 lbs over the next 8 years. How humbling would that be? To go from the Olympics to the Biggest Loser. Healing comes from within, right? Do you think he's mad at the gym, or his coach, or at his spouse, because he let his body go? Did he go to the gym just once? No, they worked him to death daily. What if he only went to the gym every 3 months? What about every 6 months? Do you think he'd lose weight at all? In a 2012 interview with ESPN, he said "Yet, in the end, it wasn't enough. Gardner admitted Saturday that his one regret was not focusing as much on his nutrition as he should have." Rememeber those check boxes above? Do you know what symptoms tell you? I know, stay with me though. They tell you something is wrong. Not only that, they tell you something is wrong enough, that your body can't deal with or adapt to it any more. This survey section is a mixture of chiropractic specific problems and nutrition. If you aren't getting adjusted regularly, you are taking the longer, slower road to recovery. I've seen it in clinical practice over and over. This is why they've had a chiropractor head up the medical team for the Olympics. Chiropractic has saved some gold medals, but that's another story. On the flip side, if you give no thought to your nutrition, you will never ultimately get 100% better. You will linger in the middle. This is why most people don't do very well if they don't get adjusted at least once a month. Life is busy, stressful, and hard on the body. Most people don't have the time to cook every meal or exercise every day, or go on TV and exercise your guts out and have a professional chef cook for you. You can't go to a chiropractor once and expect it to undo 20 years of deterioration. Just like you can't go to the gym once and undo 200 lbs. of weight gain or just cook one organic meal at home and have it undo eating fast food all week. The laws of thermodynamics can't be ignored, the farther you drift from being healthy, the more work it takes to get back. The good news is that Rulon proved you can get back. If you are struggling with section one, talk to me in the office or send me an email, because I can't give specific advice in this format. -----------------Quick office update------------------------------------------ We have officially moved to Murray, Utah.
