Are your training methods preventing injury or causing them? Why do some athletic pursuits lead to disordered eating, orthorexia, and body image issues?  As the years tick by, how can we move the goalposts to make sure we're training for the right reasons? One of my favorite things about hosting this podcast for the past 12 years is the chance to revisit with guests in different stages of their lives.  Long time listeners first met my friend Chaz a little more than a decade ago.  Chaz Branham is a venture capitalist, athlete and lifelong health nut, who you may remember back in 2013 entered in the Texas Shredder Classic, his first bodybuilding competition, on a dare—and did ridiculously well and even earned a spot on the podium by using a fat-based approach (quite unique at the time). This dude is a life-long athlete and beast. Back then in his mid-twenties, Chaz was fresh off his first bodybuilding competition, where he achieved an astonishing 3.5% body fat naturally and earned his place on the podium. Now in his late 30's, it's fascinating to examine how our lives and goals have changed.  On this episode with Chaz, you'll discover: How Chaz navigated body image issues and disordered eating patterns following a successful bodybuilding competition How to adjust your training and goals in the face of serious injury Why some ultra-marathoners show no signs of degeneration or injury after a lifetime of running What it's like to experiment in the Wild West world of peptides And much more… Read the show notes: https://fatburningman.com/chaz-branham-how-to-overcome-catastrophic-injury-with-the-eldoa-method/  Join The Wild Guild and get freebies on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/abeljames  Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/fatburningman  Like the show on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/fatburningman Follow on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/fatburnman Click here for your free Fat-Burning Kit: http://fatburningman.com/bonus

We are like the proverbial onion comprised of many layers. To love yourself is the work of a lifetime. To know what that really even means is a deep study. To love another in the purest and unconditional way, with depth, caring and true friendship demands that we love ourselves in this way also. When you become intimate with who you really are, then you can begin to appreciate whoever is in front of you in each moment of your life. My work supports adults in their mental, physical and spiritual health goals. My approach does not separate but rather, integrates these often separated aspects of human life. The path that has led me to where I am today includes strong influences from Buddhism, meditation, yoga, Gestalt therapy, spiritual exploration and contemplation, sacred plant medicine work of various kinds, IFS, ACT, Unity Bubble transformation therapy (a spiritually supported approach to the clearing of deeply dysregulating emotional and mental conditioning), ELDOA, single parenthood and of course true love." ____________________________________________________________ STAY CONNECTED:

Her commitment to improving the overall wellbeing of her clients, rather than just helping them hit a number on the scale and leaving it at that, comes from a place of knowing what it's like to hate your body, as she grew up overeating, sneaking junk food and using every excuse she could think of to get out of gym class. Eventually, she became her own health hero. Some topics we touched on during the podcast include: Why a growth mindset is crucially important when you're trying to meet fitness (or any) goals How to understand and utilize your brain chemistry to work for you. This is a tough one to write about. When you run a public business sometimes it's hard to figure out what to keep personal and what to share with the world. I've always felt it's important to lead by example. Given that we teach health and wellness I feel like my health and wellness should always be optimal. I've had people say, 'what do you mean you can't do that, you're the fittest person I know?' Which makes me feel like people expect perfection but that could only be my perspective. Over 2 years ago I was in a MVA, hit from behind (and the side) not going very fast at all. Since then my back has been giving me issues. I was going to physio and chiro and was at a point only 6 months ago where the pain and discomfort was almost completely gone. This April, shortly after I came back from LA, I got a pinched nerve in my lower back which literally had me on my back for 3 or 4 days. I could hardly stand up let alone walk. Some of you may remember when thankfully Dorothy filled in for live workouts on her own for 2 weeks at the end of April / beginning of May. Since then it's been a continued struggle. The pain from my back shoots down my leg into my calf and runs to the top of my foot and finally makes my toes numb much of the day. I feel like I've tried just about everything. Chiro, massage, acupuncture, cupping, rolling, stretching, thera gun, etc. Egoscue and even Eldoa exercises - along with focusing on anti-inflammatory foods (which is a usual thing but we've been putting more effort into this knowing food helps heal). I also ice multiple times a night before bed which helps me not wake up in the middle of the night with throbbing leg pain. I'm not saying these don't help, they do. Very much. The odd day when I lose all ambition to do anything for my pain it's so much worse. But I would hope after doing these consistently the pain would be gone completely, not just a little bit. Some days are harder than others. Some days mini depression rears its ugly head and I feel like I'll never get better. These are the worst days when I feel like my mental strength (which I'm usually very proud of) completely breaks down. Some days I'm irritable and likely hard to be around. My greatest fear is that the people I love, those closest to me (like Dorothy) won't be treated the way they should when I'm in my most pain and discomfort and lash out for no reason. And I don't think it's a proper excuse to treat people badly when you're in pain or aren't feeling well. Simple tasks like writing an email, answering a question or having a brief conversation is at times a challenge. It's like someone poking me with a needle, when my entire calf aches when I'm trying to focus on something else like a regular conversation. Or someone tapping you on your shoulder when you're trying to focus. I should have mentioned at the beginning, I don't believe chronic pain is something we have to live with. I don't believe we should expect our health to decline as we age. And nothing is going to change my mind. I'm committed to getting better and finding a way to do so. I may have watched every single youtube video on back pain, and herniated/bulging discs. I have talked to my doctor who mostly wants to do a bone scan, and mri (which takes a year to get) for the main goal of back surgery. For obvious reasons I'll avoid this at all costs but I'm also grateful we live in a world where surgery is a possibility when needed. I'm not sure if I'm ready to share this publically, but I know many people struggle with pain. I know a couple people in this group who have their own struggles with pain and discomfort, which is why I wanted to share. I wanted to let you know that you're not alone, and there are people that can relate. I'm not one to share these personal types of stories because I don't want sympathy and I certainly don't want anyone feeling sorry for me. So far, what I've gotten most out of this experience (bes...

Nikki Costello created MyWholeBody Health and Fitness Coaching as a result of her own personal quest to be healthy and pain free again.  After 20 years of competitive gymnastics, dance, running and cheerleading at the national level, she was plagued with severe pain and told she needed to stop doing most of what she loved. Even yoga hurt. She was prescribed toxic pain medications and told she would need to invest 1,000's of dollars into various therapies in order to maybe find something resembling normal. The problem was that she was only 26. Instinctively, she knew there was another way. Thus the exploration began.Since then she's spent 8 years working in a physical therapy clinic with highly sought after Dr. Mark Barnes, fascia and spine expert. She has spent the last 3 years studying with the world renowned Dr. Guy Voyer, osteopath and creator of the ELDOA Method which is currently used by professional athletes like Tiger Woods and Stephen Curry for their own health and wellness. 2. Lečenje kičmene stenoze, degenerativna bolest zglobova, degenerativna bolest diska, spondilolisteza, retrolisteza, anterolisteza 3. Pumpa organe i žlezde tela. 7. The body's fascia system is vital to many aspects of our health – but most of us don't even know what it is. Even worse, few of us know where to start when it comes to supporting or treating it. The fascia system is made up of sheets of connective tissue just below the skin. These tissues attach, stabilize, impart strength, maintain vessel patency, separate muscles, and enclose different organs.  Nikki Costello is a lifestyle coach with the CHEK Institute and operator of MyWholeBody. She has worked with Dr. Mark Barnes at Soma Physical Therapy on the rehabilitation of whole-body health. Nikki specializes in resilience, recovery, and longevity. She is also an experienced ELDOA teacher – when translated from its native French, it stands for Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching—a practice that she and I discuss at length during the episode. Much of this practice is focused on the body's fascial system and repairing or instituting its integrity. Nikki has committed her life and education to understand what it takes to achieve resilience and longevity in these human bodies. She is a walker of the talk and does not ask her clients to do anything she has not tested. She spent 8 years working in a physical therapy clinic with highly sought-after Dr. Mark Barnes, fascia and spine expert. She has spent the last 3 years studying with the world-renowned Dr. Guy Voyer, osteopath and creator of the ELDOA method which is currently used by professional athletes (such as Tiger Woods and Stephen Curry) for their own health and wellness. She is a holistic lifestyle coach through the CHEK Institute, a trained Pilates instructor through STOTT Pilates, and a NESTA certified personal trainer. She has also interned extensively with chiropractors, naturopaths, and acupuncturists.  ELDOA is a stretching technique that can expand the joints to increase fluid. Those of us who sit at desks often need this more than most. We explore what affects your fascia system, why it's so important, and how to work it out better. -- Resources: https://www.dragonfly-health.com/ (dragonfly-health.com) https://mywholebody.net/ (mywholebody.net) https://www.eldoamethod.com/about (eldoamethod.com/about) https://www.popsugar.com/fitness/What-ELDOA-44369213 (What Is ELDOA?) Ben Hubers is a personal trainer specializing in spinal health. After a successful track & field career at Indiana University, he trained as a professional distance runner, specializing in the 3k and 5k distances. After posting personal bests in the spring of 2013, his training was disrupted by nagging pain that never seemed to get better. He grew accustomed to chronic pain which limited his training and took a toll on his mindset. After expensive MRIs and two painful, ultimately ineffective cortisone injections, Ben started seeing a chiropractor, Dr. Brian Murer, DC. Dr. Murer introduced Ben to a whole world of manual medicine and to the exercise principles of ELDOA. Created by renowned French Osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer, DO, the ELDOA exercises slowly began healing the tension and chronic pain that Ben had developed over a decade of distance running. Ben was ultimately able to reduce his pain and train for the Olympic Trials in 2016. Since then, Ben has moved to California to continue his training using the principles of Dr. Voyer's work. He developed some of the first ELDOA classes in the LA area and, due to this, was targeted to start working at Evolution Physical Therapy. He was able to really expand his scope of practice and use the ELDOA postures to help multiple clients overcome back pain and injuries. Ben currently works at Link Medical Center in Orange County as head Soma Trainer where he is able to use his skill set as an exercise specialist to compliment some of the best chiropractors in United States. He is currently one of less than 150 certified ELDOA trainers in the world.

Kathleen Trotter is a fitness expert, media personality, personal trainer, writer, life coach, certified Pilates and ELDOA instructor, and overall health enthusiast. Her passion is motivating others to find their fit. Kathleen does this through writing, regular TV and media appearances, working with clients (ranging from athletes of all ages to individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and osteoporosis), and speaking engagements. Kathleen holds an M.Sc. in Exercise Science from the University of Toronto and a nutrition diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She is a C.H.E.K. Level 3 trainer, a Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapist, Level 1 ELDOA practitioner, and a certified Pilates Equipment Specialist. Kathleen started her work as a fitness writer at Chatelaine in 2010. Shortly after, she started blogging for the Huffington Post and filming and writing for the Globe and Mail. Kathleen has published articles in magazines, such as Canadian Running, Glow, Todays Parent, Healthy Directions, and Impact Magazine. Kathleen is regularly interviewed as a fitness expert for multiple news outlets including Global News and the Toronto Star. She also makes regular TV and media appearances on Breakfast Television Montreal, Rogers Ottawa, CTV News, CHCH Morning Live Hamilton, the CBC, ABC News 7, and many others. Kathleen has been a guest on numerous radio shows, podcasts, and is a regular on Zoomer Radios The Tonic. Her new-found passion is motivational speaking. Kathleen’s speaking engagements have included a series of motivational lectures at the Toronto Public Library, guest lectures at the University of Toronto and Concordia University, Lunch and Learns at the University of Toronto, and corporate presentations, including her recent Cisco Women of Influence keynote talk. Kathleen loves her job. Her mission is to inspire as many people as possible to adopt (in an intelligent way) a healthier lifestyle and to make healthier choices because they love themselves, not because they hate themselves. Kathleen does not believe in body shame. Kathleen does believe in goals and results. She does not believe in being easy on yourself or letting negative brain propaganda win. She does believe in self-compassion and holding yourself accountable. Kathleen does not believe in being active to create a whole new you. Kathleen does believe in being you, but working toward creating a you who has more healthy habits. She believes in learning and growing, passion, gratitude, and actively finding pockets of joy. Most important, Kathleen believes in actively creating the version of yourself that you want to be, and that the key to health success is finding YOUR fit hence the name of her first book, Finding Your Fit. — Kathleen Trotter is a speaker, author, and media personality set out to help people ‘find their fit,’ but this process requires a lot more involvement than starting a diet or getting a gym membership. Unless you are willing to act to change, your future self is just going to be a version of your current self. Trotter’s approach focuses on making fundamental changes to your mindset in order to prioritize self-care and become the best possible version of yourself. It is all about small wins because your health and well being is just an aggregate of every decision you make in the moment. If you can assign more value to health and exercise, you will be able to make small adjustments in real-time that make a significant difference in the long run. You cannot effectively lead others if you are not leading yourself first, and by taking Trotter’s initiative you can start to replenish your energy, self-confidence, and overall happiness that will see a major shift at work and in the household. The growth mindset assumes that there is no experience good or bad as long as you learn from it. In this episode of Absolute Advantage, Trotter joins host Kelly Hatfield to talk about creating a system to hold yourself accountable and grow as an individual in your pursuit of better health. Above all, gain rare insight into my overall thought process. This way you can assess different training scenarios and use critical thinking skills to come up with an optimal solution. Today’s episode features Mike Salemi.  Mike specializes in human performance and is a sought after international presenter in the field of health and fitness. He has a diverse background in strength and conditioning and has competed over the course of 15+ years at an elite level in Powerlifting and Kettlebell Sport. Through his own path of resolving sport-related injuries, Mike understands the importance of integrating the body, mind and spirit as a means to foster high performance for the long term.  His motivation is to help athletes, fitness professionals, and coaches discover their own potential from the inside out.  He has extensive experience learning from Paul Chek, and integrating this into a holistic method of athletic performance. For this podcast, which was recorded in-person, Mike takes us through how his injuries in his athletic experience provided a gateway for him to learn more about his body and move into another realm of movement.   One of the big things Mike shares with us is his use of “working in” (as opposed to working out), which he learned from Paul Chek, and how to use this as a means to improve athletic recovery and psychological performance in competition.  Mike and I worked out together prior to this recording, and I was able to experience first-hand his integration of breathing into various athletic movements with a HIRTS band and the Bulgarian (Suples) bag. Mike also shares with us thoughts on tonic vs. phasic muscle system balance, and how to fix it (which has striking resemblance to the performance of extreme ISOs in Jay Schroeder’s system), as well as how he incorporates ELDOA stretching into his practice. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more.   Key Points How Mike has utilized band work as a creative, flow based series to train the body What Mike has learned coming off of powerlifting in terms of training the body from a functional perspective Working out versus working in and the impact of working in on holistic high performance Psychological and recovery benefits of “working in” techniques How to get started with “working in” Tonic vs. Phasic system imbalances and how to assess and correct them Mike’s use of ELDOA work in his training Read the transcripts at Podcast 150 Mike Salemi: The Complete Transcripts “The link between grip and shoulder stability, I’ve seen a lot of people working with these tools (Suples Bag) increase shoulder stability in overhead movements and such, because they can irradiate the tension from the grip all the way through into the shoulder joint” “When it comes to sport specific qualities, you need to have freedom of movement, and integration with the breath” “Uncontrolled deceleration is where I see most all the injuries happen, especially in the planes we don’t train” “Rotation is probably one of the most important patterns for day to day living and sport, and we never train it” “Through every injury, is what I found is it opened to the door to understanding myself better and what I was missing in my own training" “Paul (Chek) put an emphasis on balancing the body not only structurally, but energetically” “A working out exercise is an energy expenditure activity, working in is an energy cultivating activity” “If you teach someone something but you don’t live it, I think people pick up on that” “You can pick a very familiar movement (for working in) done bodyweight, you take that movement, and then there are four criteria that show if you are working out and in a sympathetic state: Number one is if you are sweating; if you are sweating you know you are working out.  Two is digestion, if you can’t do the working in exercise on a full stomach, then you know it’s not activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Episode 71: A native of Atlanta, Andrew Johnston has been a personal trainer for over two decades. He got into the business for self-improvement, arming himself with knowledge to combat the performance enhancing drugs that inundate the sport of professional cycling. This strategy worked, and in 1992 he was invited to be a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.Upon graduation from Eckerd College in 1994, he turned pro and took his ambitions to Europe to race for the Belgian Haverbeke GB team. After the 1996 Olympic Trials, he moved to Spain to race for the Palafrugell and Homs squads until 1998. Andrew devoted his full attention to personal training in 1999 after a crash ended his cycling career just as he was entering his prime. But his competitive drive was satisfied for only a year before discovering his interest in triathlon. In his first full season of triathlon competition, he was the 2001 Olympic Distance Champion of Georgia and 5th overall at the National Long Course Triathlon Championships, earning All-American status as well as a slot on the U.S. World Triathlon team.Andrew founded Triumph Training in 2000, using his athletic experience and insatiable appetite for knowledge to build a successful training business. Not content with having obtained his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist degree, arguably the most respected credential in the fitness industry, Andrew became the first Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiologist in the state of Georgia in 2001.His passion for the body and its limitless potential has grown only stronger since Men's Journal named him one of the Best Trainers in the U.S. in 2005 and again in 2006. Perfecting what he preaches to his clientele as well as various audiences throughout the Southeast, in 2006 Andrew became the first Leukemia Survivor to qualify for and finish the Hawaii Ironman World Championships. The award-winning documentary Living Is Winning captures the events leading up to that race and takes the audience deep into the life of an aspiring triathlete. After several years of "retirement" from competition to open up his private training studio in Atlanta and to author his first of two published books, Andrew stormed back onto the triathlon scene in 2012 to qualify for the 70.3 World Championships followed three weeks later with the Overall Win at the Great Floridian--the first Leukemia Survivor to ever be crowned the champion of an Iron Distance Triathlon. He then got permission from his wife and son to tackle the 3000 mile Race Across America, raising over $250,000 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Now he takes his knowledge as a CHEK Practitioner and one of the select few ELDOA Trainers in the world to guide people in their pursuit of wellness, ultimately helping them to realize that the only limitations they truly have are the ones they set for themselves.CONNECT WITH ANDREW:https://triumphtraining.com/Show Notes:https://www.pureenergypdx.com/integrate-yourself-podcast/eldoa-methodSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/integrateyourself)

While I was leaning against the bar mixing myself a white wine kombucha spritzer, as I'm prone to do, a doctor named Steve Geanopulos approached me and introduced himself. Sensing I was a fellow physiology geek with his science-spidey sense, he proceeded to fill me in on a fascinating paper entitled "." He then went on to explain that this paper, which we'll discuss in today's podcast along with plenty of other neural fixing and neural enhancing topics, forms the basis of the care he provides for his chronic brain based patients (not only concussion but anyone who struggles with movement, sight, focus, attention, or other brain based issues.) We also discussed the work Steve does with professional and collegiate athletes and concussion with his colleague Ben Velazquez, and the work he's done with a guy named Guy Voyer over the past 20 years with ELDOA - a form of fascial stretching that I personally incorporate in my own training and my clients' protocols. He described his approach as a "neuro-chemical, neuro-immunological, neuro-mechanical approach". So why is this guy exactly? Dr. Steven G. Geanopulos, affectionately known as ‘Dr G’, is a speaker, writer, and leader in the world of functional neurology / functional medicine and is quickly becoming one of America’s leading experts in lifelong, optimized living. His experience and clinical approach has proven that diminished health and vitality can be reclaimed by just about any proactive person at any age. Dr G.’s principles of practice cover the 5 essential keys to resolving the underlying cause of health problems and performance concerns including; assessing the nervous system for interference, endocrine system, detoxification systems, nutrition and fitness. Dr. G has completed his postgraduate studies in the field of Functional Neurology and attained board certification through the Carrick Institute, a distinction shared by fewer than 700 people worldwide. Dr. G is a lifelong learner and has completed hundreds of hours of training in the fields of chiropractic neurology and functional medicine. The material he shares covers everything required to take control of your health, while dispelling the ever-growing number of fallacies and myths related to this subject. Dr. G’s fascinating and refreshing approach to body transformation focuses immune function, brain function, nutrition, management of our personal environment, exercise and hormone balance. Dr. G currently practices virtually with clients and sees patients from all over the world with his main practice located in New York City. His practice has 3 main areas of focus: 1. Brain health 2. Metabolic health 3. Structural and functional integrity and optimization. These 3 areas of focus are intimately connected and require Dr. G’s unique expertise. Eventually, I made it to New York City to meet with Steve and also meet his colleague there: Benjamin Velazquez Pagan. Ben's qualifications include: -Licensed Soma-Trainer (Performance Physical Therapy) -Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach -Member, International Sports Sciences Association -Member, National Strength & Conditioning Association -Member, American College of Sports Medicine -Co-Contributing Author, “Fascia – Clinical Applications for Health and Human Performance.” As a competitive athlete, Benjamin Velazquez realizes the value and potential that comes with a scientific sports program. As a Performance therapist, his goal is to bridge the gap between cutting edge science and today's athlete. Ben's professional experience includes Managing Partner and Director of Human Performance of Sports Lab NYC LLC; President of Grey Matters Sports Group LLC. He designs programs and coaches his New York clientele that ranges from elite athlete to high profile celebrity. In addition to a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Science, Ben holds several certifications, which include NCSA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Licensed Performance Soma- Therapist, ACSM Exercise Specialist, ISSA Sports performance Nutritionist, and many more. Ben's client roster includes: -22 current and Former N.H.L. Athletes, -18 current and former M.L.B. Players -5 Division 1 NCAA Soccer Players -12 Current N.F.L. Athletes. -The Women’s 2006 Track Team at University of Texas. Ben has also worked with the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Team 1999-2000, the 2003 national champion New York Freedom Soccer Team as well as 5 Athletes at The Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Ben has spent the last two years researching the use of corrective exercise in mitigating the risk factors of concussions in athletes. Along with his team at Grey Matters Sports Group, he has successfully worked with athletes from five different sports that were recovering from multiple concussions. He and his team have pioneered a five-tier method of rehabilitating the athlete that has suffered from concussive trauma. During my discussion with Ben and Steve, you'll discover: -Why concussions today are much different today than they were 30 years ago... -Why Steve describes concussions as an immune system issue... -Steve and Ben's approach for returning to play, work or school after a head injury or concussion-like syndrome... -Why Steve had me wear a giant pair of infrared goggles when he evaluated me in New York City... -What kind of bloodwork you have had done to see if you've had a concussion... -Why Ben V. feels that anybody who is dealing with a concussion or TBI should learn a form of fascial stretching called ELDOA... -And much more! I couldn’t help but reach out to him to see what he has learned over the past 50 years of soft tissue work, clinical experience and research. You’ll enjoy his passion!   Here’s some topics we hit: What kind of injuries or cases can fascial work assist with? What is Fascia? Does fascia have pain receptors? Why does fascia get restrictions and what is the physical “sticking?” How is Fascial work any different than foam rolling, massage, ART, graston etc Explain the receptor system How can fascial manipulation assist in movement patterns? Research surrounding fascia work Take the seminar by Warren Hammer here. https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/ELDOA Four months ago, a guy knocked on my front door. He'd flown all the way up from Alabama to my house to train me in a new method of movement and deep fascial stretching that I had never before encountered…something called the "ELDOA Method". Now don't get me wrong: I've done my fair share of mobility training. For example, in the article "",  I delve into how, on a weekly basis, I engage in everything from active stretching to yoga to foam rolling to traction to deep tissue massage and beyond. But Jacob Schoen, the guy who showed up at my house (and my guest on today's podcast) and trained me for eight solid hours over the course of a weekend, introduced me to this new form of extremely intensive "stretching", and helped me discover something I now take breaks from work to do each day and one of the best ways to eliminate low back pain, heal the spine, and get a full body myofascial stretch. It looks like this: Jacob Schoen is the owner and founder of SHIFT Sport and Wellness in New Orleans, La. Jacob is currently studying in the programs of a guy named Dr. Guy Voyer and is using this education to change the way people approach and associate with their pain or performance. By focusing on the purpose, precision, and quality of exercise Jacob inspires people to “move more aware” in the gym and in life. He hopes that by creating awareness in the individual through movement that he can create momentum towards a more connected and conscious culture of health. During our discussion, you'll discover: -How Jacob discovered ELDOA after a series of injuries and poor movement patterns developed from cycling and triathlon...[9:47] -Why ELDOA is like using an inversion table on your whole body...[15:15] -What it means to create space within your joint s (and why joints aren't "stacked" the way you would think they are)...[18:30] -On a physiological level, what does ELDOA do, exactly? [22:45] -Why most stretching practices or techniques don't actually target your myofascia, and how ELDOA does...[25:30] -How stretching your wrist and big toe at the same time can, surprisingly, decompress your actual spine...[29:20] -What a sample ELDOA session actually looks like...[31:45] -What it means to "normalize" your muscle tone...[41:12] -What you probably don't know about the bones in the skull and why your jaw and skull bones are so important for decompressing your spine...[45:19] -How to self-adjust your jaw with a dowel...[50:15] -Why Jake is not a fan of foam rolling and deep tissue work and why Ben is...[54:15] -The #1 completely natural supplement you can take that is almost free and that vastly decreases back pain...[69:20] -How often you should do ELDOA...[72:45] -The best way for you to learn how to do ELDOA yourself...[77:00] -And much more!
