Focus economia

Play Episode Listen Later May 15, 2024

Today on Memorable Marketing, Bart speaks with Chiara Galfré, a Digital Marketer at Rockfon, the world's leading acoustic company. The company designs acoustic ceilings and wall panels with the aim of creating a world that sounds good to everyone. Rockfon achieves this through sustainable innovation, leaner manufacturing, and pioneering closed-loop recycling.  Here, the pair talk about what Rockfon sells, its target audience, and how the company approaches marketing differently depending on the product it is pushing. For example, when promoting high-end products, Rockfon tends to collaborate with various platforms to focus on brand awareness and educational insights, whereas with lower-end products, Rockfon focuses on showcasing the benefits of using their products. Chiara's experience mainly revolves around social media, paid campaigns, email marketing, and advising local marketing managers on specific digital campaigns. Currently, in Rockfon, she is in contact with many external platforms such as architectural magazines, and designs campaigns with them.Chiara also highlights some brands she admires and is inspired by, such as Louis Poulsen, which she describes as being very complimentary to what Rockfon does. Chiara finds the way this brand produces and communicates content interesting and something to learn from. Our guest, Cyndi Bray, didn't expect she would become an entrepreneur when she bought a new washer/dryer set, but that is exactly what happened. While her new dryer claimed to have an excellent Energy Star rating, she found that her bed sheets were constantly swirling into giant wads, increasing the amount of time she had to run the dryer and wasting energy in the process. With zero experience, Cyndi took on the task of finding a solution: teaching herself physics, CAD drawings, creating prototypes and eventually trademarking a product and bringing it to market in a stunning 14 month turn-around. The result is Wad-Free for Bed Sheets! While launching her business during the pandemic certainly had its challenges (especially on the manufacturing and supply chain side), Cyndi has found great success, including pitching Wad-Free to the Sharks on Season 13, resulting in a Shark fight to secure the deal with Wad-Free! Originally from southern California, Charissa moved to North Dakota at the age of 20 with her husband Dave to take over the family farm. In 2002 they started Dakota Micro, Inc., a business that manufactures the AgCam and EnduraCam camera lines. Charissa's most recent endeavor of acrylic painting allows her passion for the rural countryside to shine through.   In July of 2019, Dakota Micro, Inc. had the honor of being invited to the White House to represent US Manufacturing for the State of North Dakota. When asked about the experience, Charissa shared that “…it was so amazing! To be able to set up our products IN the White House, who gets to do that! We got to meet so many amazing people, VP Mike Pence and Dr. Ben Carson, just to name a few.”                                                                          Charissa and Dave have two children whom they are incredibly proud of. Alexander is currently serving in the US Army in the 25th ID, and their daughter Christina has joined the ND Army National Guard. She will begin basic training in the winter of 2019-20 with plans on attending Nursing School afterwards. When elaborating on her kids, Charissa also shared “plans change, you never know what their, or our future will bring, and that's the adventure.”   In this episode, we cover: How to discern “good” advice from “right for you” advice What it means to say “a change that's easy isn't all that meaningful” How Charissa's original goal of creating extra grocery money turned into a full-blown business How a neck fusion surgery and a rock sucked into a combine header created the idea that sparked the start of her business Why people need to “hear the hard stuff” about starting and running a business   Links + Resources Mentioned   Charissa's book recommendation: “Traction: Get A Grip on Your Business” by Gino Wickman   Subscribe + Review   Thanks for tuning into this week's episode of The Growing Small Towns Show!
