Consoles don’t really brag about bit ratings anymore. Growing up with games, the leaps between generations felt profound From 8 Bit to 16 Bit, to 32, to Nintendo 64! It was exciting. The last consoles to even mention it in their marketing were the Dreamcast and the Playstation 2. They were the 128 bit consoles. They were the end of an era.The same is true for Checkpoints. Episode 128 is the final episode. This isn't bad news. There will be a special Epilogue episode coming in a week or two where I’ll talk about the reason for the finishing the podcast in much more detail, suffice to say this isn't a sad ending. I'm just sticking the landing.Appropriately enough my final guest is the creator of the much loved and missed video game podcast A Life Well Wasted, Robert Ashley. Robert was one of the very first people I ever contacted about coming on the show, and I'm delighted that he decided to temporarily come out of video game podcast retirement to talk. As well as A Life Well Wasted, Robert is one half of the amazing I Come to Shanghai, a former video game journalist and of course a GFW radio alum.We talk about his formative video game experiences in Texan dive bars, how the internet ruined the mysteries and rumours of the arcade, how he invented new ways to play Super Mario Bros, his ultimately fruitless efforts to enjoy Final Fantasy, how an arcade called Einstein’s led to him dropping out of college, and why live events are often the best place to enjoy indie games. We also talk on his work as a journalist, the time he got into a brawl over Goldeneye, why he’d play Samba di Amigo with death, how Psychonauts still doesn’t get the credit it deserves and of course the history and future (!) of A Life Well Wasted. Thanks so much to everyone for listening and supporting the show. I have had the best time.Declan xPATREON - patreon.com/checkpointsiTunes HERE - SUBSCRIBE / RATE / REVIEWTheme song by Samuel BakerArt work by Craig Stevenson

Found this gem while going through my music archives, trying to assemble all my music for bulk publishing to various platforms. I publish this one on here because it's a collaboration. Guitar and Vocals were done by an Anonymous Artist. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the sax first time listening to it, but second time through I think I Come around.
La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
1st reading delivered by Gavin Eka Cipta (from the Church Santo Antonius Padua Jakarta, Indonesia), 2nd reading delivered by Theresia Shirley (from the Church of Santo Yohanes Bosco Jakarta, Indonesia), the Gospel and meditation delivered by Father Peter Tukan, SDB (Salesian community in Jakarta, Indonesia).1 Samuel 3: 3b-10.19; Rs Psalm 40: 2.4ab.7-8a.8b-9.10; 1 Corinthians 6: 13c-15a.17-20; John 1: 35-42. I COME TO DO YOUR WILL On this second Sunday in Ordinary Time our meditation has the theme: I Come to do Your Will. Technology is an extension or expansion of human activity; this is what a number of communication experts say. We cannot see and meet the Pope Francis but television extends the capabilities of our eyes, ears and minds about the Pope. People in the village can overcome their homesickness with family members overseas via video calls. Once there was a person who eagerly asked for confession because he said he had not done it for a long time. We're talking on a long distance telephone. At the end of the conversation for about 20 minutes he asked for confession. I clearly refused and asked him to come to meet a priest in person at the confessional room. I didn't explain to him about technology as an extension is appropriate for the confession of sins. Today God's word to us is about our ability to do the will of God. To realize this end we should come, to meet and to share in the Lord's work. Our speaking and communication occur between the one who speaks and the one who listens with all the gestures involved. Those participating in this meeting expressed their commitment to each other, that a cooperation should be carried out in the name of a greater will and interest, namely the will of God. This kind of encounter, closeness, and togetherness create personal relationships that rely on the real presence and responsibility to carry out God's will. The call of Samuel described in our first reading today indicates this real presence. Likewise our participation in the one body of Christ and the quality of the true and holy faith really affirms a real involvement among us the believers. We can see today how online meetings and online communities, and social media groups are already part of our new way of establishing relationship between persons based on love, brotherhood, formation, vocation and growth of faith. What is evident for us is a permanent fellowship such as love of man and woman, marriage, family, school, church, faith education and so on that bind us together for one single reason, which is the one call to follow Jesus. This is where a commitment of calling is felt, which is expressed in this way: I come to do the will of God. Although information technology is important for communication and relationship between persons, it is not the primary goal. It serves as a tool that helps us carry out the will of God. And the will of God is to follow Jesus Christ and to become like Him. Let's pray. In the name of the Father ... Lord Jesus Christ, fill us with Your Spirit so that we are always eager to come and see Your real being as our Lord and Teacher. Our Father ... In the name of the Father ... --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/media-la-porta/message
When God ordered his creation he did so by the power of his Holy Spirit, his image (in Adam & Eve), and his Word. When God orders his new creation, inaugurated at the baptism of Jesus, he also does it through his Spirit, his Word, and his image - Jesus, the express image of God himself. Johnny Townsend is not a fan of horror movies. He will NOT watch them. However, he is a fan of podcasting and improv. So, why shouldn't he start a new show in which he reviews horror movies based solely on the trailer? I mean, it only makes sense, right? On this episode, Johnny watches the trailer for the 1990 sci-fi film Dark Angel, alternatively titled I Come in Peace. How does he feel about seeing He-Man in a more down to earth role? How does the Count from Sesame Street fit into this film? Listen and find out! Since God is the king of the universe, all authorities and leadership structures are designed to work under His authority, on His behalf. For the past several centuries Christians in the West have embraced the belief that the destiny of Christians is to "go to heaven when we die." But according to Paul, the story of salvation that God is writing in history does not end with believers living in a disembodied heaven forever but with the renewal of all of creation, including the restoration of our bodies and the setting up of a universal kingdom of righteousness and peace here on his renewed earth. http://saintjamesglencarbon.org/2020-ninth-sunday-after-pentecost Romans 8:16–25 Matthew 14:13–21 Hymns: When Trials Come: Text and tune by Keith Getty and Kristyn Getty, © 2005 Thankyou Music; used with permission, CCLI License # 20286740. Dolph disguises a buddy-cop movie as an terminator movie. Inside you'll learn that the most deadliest weapon in space are compact discs and all aliens have male-pattern-baldness. Dark Angel AKA I Come in Peace is absolutely bananas. It's so full of action sequences, explosions, aliens chasing each other, one-liners, and a crazy plot where people's brains are drugs in space. It's riddled with buddy-cop cliches, the new partner that does this by the book, an ex-girlfriend that also works in the same circles, the chief that wants his badge, etc... all while giant alien guys are exploding everything in the city with mega-weapons. It's fantastic. There's only so much early 90's nostalgia that you can cram into a movie and somehow this movie manages to blast through that barrier. It's not just the world's deadliest weapon (the compact disc), it's the music, the obligatory cops-at-a-strip-club-scene, it's the hair, the clothes, the cars, and the one-liners. While some people would have made this a dark and grisly film, Craig R. Baxley makes this an absolute blast and falls into an instant classic for anyone who missed it when it came out. Watch this movie now!

Occupy till I Come – Daniel 12v3-13 by Rev V.P.Isaac
Jesus and me! G' day welcome to Partakers and the last planned in this little series, Jesus and you, where we looked at some people in the Gospel record, who met Jesus and how he changed their life and perceptions. Today its Jesus and me! Almost everybody has an opinion of the man Jesus Christ! Countless millions worship him today and down through history! People sometimes ask me "Who is my Jesus?" "Who is my Jesus?" My Jesus Christ, is the man who splits history BC & AD! The man who we claim is the messiah and saviour as spoken about by the prophets of old and written about by those who met Him... My Jesus Christ, the man who healed the sick, fought for justice, did many great deeds, filled with compassion, driven on by joy and in constant conversation with God the Father. My Jesus Christ, is the man who claimed to be God and was God! Jesus who emptied Himself, made Himself nothing, so as to take on human form. Jesus Christ, fully human and yet fully God. My Jesus Christ, is the most amazing man who ever lived, born of a woman, in a humble stable. Jesus Christ, the man born to die that he may come back alive and give all people a chance to live forever. My Jesus Christ, is the man who died on a grubby Roman cross, pierced, battered, bruised and scarred. Jesus Christ, the God-man who died physically. Jesus Christ, buried within and sealed into a cold empty tomb. My Jesus Christ, is the man who conquered death, came back alive as witnessed by uncountable others. Jesus Christ who defeated the sting of sin, so that humanity may choose to live forever! My Jesus Christ, whose very death and resurrection we celebrate at Easter, who ascended to the right hand of God the Father. This Jesus Christ, who with the Father, sent the Holy Spirit to transform into His own image, all who choose to follow Him. My Jesus Christ, who covers His followers in His own robe of righteousness so that they would be acceptable to God the Father. Jesus Christ, coming again soon in glory to judge humanity and claim those who follow Him. Jesus Christ who calls to you and I "Come and follow!" That is my Jesus Christ! But, you may be asking yourself, why are you a Christian and identify yourself as such? Why am I a Christian? "We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:9-12 - I am a Christian not because of anything I have done! No, nothing I could do or have done would have made me a Christian. Rather, it is because He first chased me, and because He first loved me. Jesus himself said "I came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19v10). God was chasing me and following my every path. Why am I a Christian? It is because of the events at Christmas and Easter that I am a Christian! The dual events, in harmony, when God entered this world as a human baby and took all the necessary steps so that all people could have the choice to be His people or not. In my more smug moments I used to congratulate myself for being a Christian. How proud I was that I, Dave, was a Christian and that God was a jolly lucky God that I had decided to follow Him. It was during one of my less self-deluded moments, that I examined myself and I found God pricking my conscience and correcting me, and I read the New Testament "For the Son of Man came, not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many" (Mark10v45). Jesus calls you! If you would not call yourself a Christian today, and this Jesus appeals to you, this Jesus who speaks with authority, and you want to become a Christian there are three simple steps to follow. Firstly, admit that you have done wrong against God and His ways. Secondly, believe and trust in Jesus. Call on Him, receive, trust, obey and worship Him, recognizing Him for who He is and what He has done. Lastly, confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Once sin has been confessed, and Jesus is believed in and trusted as Saviour, then you are a Christian. Now you are ready as Peter writes in the Bible, "to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). Christian discipleship is a lifetime commitment! Welcome to the family of God. It isnt just becoming a convert but rather a life long follower wanting to be more like Jesus Christ in what we call being a disciple. God has chosen you; Jesus has paid for you and has put His mark within you through His Spirit (Ephesians 1:1-13). Finally, I ask again, who do you say this Jesus is? But further, what are you going to do with this Jesus and let Him do to you? Thank you. Again, I ask, who do you say Jesus is? But further, what are you going to do with this Jesus and let Him do to you? Right mouse click or tap here to save/download this as a MP3 audio file You can now purchase our Partakers books!

The representation of gender diversity on screen has a complex history, from invisibility to stereotypical representations of otherness, including the sexually mischievous to the homicidal maniac. In this conversation our panel of filmmakers, critics, festival directors and artists to talked about the history and politics of gender diverse representation in films like Funeral Parade of Roses, Tomboy, The Crying Game and Boys Don’t Cry, as well as Orange is the New Black, Transparent and Billions. The panel will explore the problematic casting and stereotyping of gender diverse characters to the more progressive titles that have paved the way for more positive and nuanced gender expression on screen. Hello everyone welcome to Reaching Out Radio where we are raeching out to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ sharing the mesage of the cross into the nations. Tonight your host Sister Pearl will be sharing a message on "Occupy till I Come" found in Luke 19:13. The challenge for every believer in this present time is for us to stay focused and do the bidding of the Master, while it is still called the day. Many are wrongly just listening to the 'doom and gloom" constantly bombarding our minds with the negative. Entertaining the wrong that's in the world constantly, limits our ability to "work the works of Him who sends us" and instead of being His salt and light in a very dark world, we become irrelevant to the culture. Our Great Commander in Chief told us exactly what we should be doing until He returns...and that is to Occupy. Hope you join us and grow in the word together thanks fr your support and prayers.
Audio recording of January 7 worship - Epiphany Festival. Bulletin pasted below:Welcome to Shepherd of the Lakes! We’re here to shepherd Christ’s flock and seek the lost sheep by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with all. Come, let us worship! For your convenience, in the back corner of the sanctuary there is a room for any parents with children in need of a quiet place. The restrooms are located on the lower level. Please ask if you have any further questions or concerns. Lord Jesus, you took on our humanity in order to live under the law and redeem us. Grant that I always marvel at your grace, and receive you with joy; AMEN.Christ, our Advocate:Our churches teach that the history of saints may be set before us so that we may follow the example of their faith and good works, according to our calling. For example, the emperor may follow the example of David [2 Samuel] in making war to drive away the Turk from his country. For both are kings. 2 But the Scriptures do not teach that we are to call on the saints or to ask the saints for help. Scripture sets before us the one Christ as the Mediator, Atoning Sacrifice, High Priest, and Intercessor [1 Timothy 2:5–6]. 3 He is to be prayed to. He has promised that He will hear our prayer [John 14:13]. This is the worship that He approves above all other worship, that He be called upon in all afflictions. 4 “If anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father” (1 John 2:1). What a miracle!Paul reveals the mystery of the miraculous: God’s grace is for all people! How does Epiphany relate to our gospel proclamation today?OPENING HYMN: 83 – As with Gladness Men of OldLITURGY: Service of Word & Sacrament, CW p. 26Please rise.PRAYER OF THE DAY:M: Lord God, by the leading of a star you once made known to the nations your one and only Son. Guide us, also, who know him now by faith, to come at last to the perfect joy of your heavenly glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. C: Amen. The WordFIRST READING: Ruth 4:13-17Through Ruth, God provided a descendent for bereaved Naomi; in the mystery of his grace, God included Gentiles in the ancestry of Christ:13Then Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife, and he went to her. The LORD enabled her to conceive, and she bore a son. 14Then the women said to Naomi: Blessed is the LORD, who has not left you without a redeemer today. May his name be proclaimed in Israel! 15He will restore your life and care for you in your old age, because your daughter-in-law, who loves you, has given birth to him. She is better for you than seven sons! 16Then Naomi took the boy and put him on her lap, and she became his caregiver. 17The neighboring women named him, saying, “A son is born to Naomi!” and they named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse, the father of David.PSALM: 72, p. 93 SECOND READING: Ephesians 3:2-12 God has proclaimed the mystery: Through this gospel, we can approach God in freedom & confidence:2Surely you have heard of the administration of God’s grace given to me for you, 3namely, that the mystery was made known to me by revelation (as I have already written briefly). 4When you read this, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ. 5This mystery was not made known to people in past generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets. 6This mystery is that in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and people who also share in the promise through the gospel. 7I became a servant of this gospel, in keeping with the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of his power. 8To me—even though I am the very least of all the saints—was given this grace: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ 9and to enlighten everyone about the administration of this mystery. In past ages this mystery remained hidden in God, who created all things. 10He did this so that, through the church, the multifaceted wisdom of God in the heavenly places might now be made known to the rulers and authorities. 11This was done according to the eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12In him we can freely approach God with confidence through faith in him. THEME VERSE: Matthew 2:2Alleluia. We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him. Alleluia. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! These words are written that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!GOSPEL READING: Matthew 2:1-12In his grace, God leads Gentiles to worship Christ:After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, when Herod was king, Wise Men from the east came to Jerusalem. They asked, 2“Where is he who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” 3When King Herod heard this, he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4He gathered together all the people’s chief priests and experts in the law. He asked them where the Christ was to be born. 5They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, because this was written through the prophet: 6You, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are certainly not least among the rulers of Judah: because out of you will come a ruler, who will shepherd my people, Israel.” 7Then Herod secretly summoned the Wise Men and found out from them exactly when the star had appeared. 8He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. When you find him, report to me, so that I may also go and worship him.” 9After listening to the king, they went on their way. Then the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them, until it stood still over the place where the child was. 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with overwhelming joy. 11After they went into the house and saw the child with Mary, his mother, they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12Since they had been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country by another route. It's Christmas time in Houston, and a particularly evil creature is stirring... one from outer space who wants your brain endorphins! Fortunately for Houston, they have Jack Caine! On this episode, Chris Prentice joins me once again to discuss the next film in Dolph Lundgren’s filmography, I Come in Peace, a.k.a. Dark Angel. In this violent, witty, and original ‘90’s action film, Lundgren plays a maverick Houston detective on the trail of an intergalactic drug dealer. This was Lundgren’s fifth leading role, as well as his opportunity to showcase not just some of his martial arts skills, but his ability to play what was relatively new territory for him at the time… a regular guy. Despite its unique premise, killer direction, and fun supporting characters, I Come in Peace did not find its audience until home video. And almost 30 years later, I Come in Peace is still a blast to come back to. It’s a reminder of what made ‘90’s action movies so memorable. What do director Craig R. Baxley, Dolph Lundgren, and Matthias Hues all bring to this film? What kind of an advantage did casting essentially athletes bring to the film’s stunt work and action sequences? Why does the evil alien speak only four words (an ironic phrase at that), while the good alien is fluent in English? Does the film have one too many plot threads, or does it balance them all just right? And just how badass is Lundgren’s Jack Caine? Join us as Chris and I answer these and all other burning questions, in addition to establishing our new mantra – What Would Caine Do? Special thanks to Chris Prentice for once again joining me. Also, special shout out to Fesliyan Studios for the show’s opening music. Please feel free to rate and review the show on iTunes, Stitcher, or wherever else you subscribe!!!

Ep. 43 "Dark Angel" aka "I Come in Peace" (1990) by rogueriffers
Today we welcome one of martial art cinema's all-time greatest villains to the show. The giant, musclebound German fighter Matthias Hues has spent a career taking on the likes of Dolph Lundgren, Cynthia Rothrock, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Bolo Yeung, Billy Blanks, Lorenzo Lamas and Mark Dacascos. But despite his on-screen persona, Matthias is actually a very sweet-natured person, as revealed in this wide-reaching, in-depth conversation. His story is fascinating. He became a highly successful owner of health clubs in Germany before spontaneously moving to Hollywood at the height of the action movie boom in the 1980s. He worked out at the famous Gold's Gym and was eventually spotted, landing an early breakthrough role replacing Jean-Claude Van Damme in the 1988 sequel, No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder. He then landed the main villain role in the cult Dolph Lundgren movie, Dark Angel (1990 - also known as I Come in Peace). Throughout the video boom of the 1990s, Matthias Hues became the poster-boy for a special brand of low-budget American action film, and featured in fight flicks like Mission of Justice (1992), TC 2000 (1993), Bounty Tracker (1993), and Fists of Iron (1995). In more recent times, Matthias can be seen working with Mark Dacascos on a number of exciting new film projects, including Showdown in Manila (2016), Maximum Impact (2017), and Ultimate Justice (2017), which is available to buy on DVD from 3 October.

At the height of 80s action, at the height of the war on drugs, at the height of Dolph Lundgren's career, at the height of alien drug dealer invasions, at the height of... You get it, we watched I Come in Peace. If there was ever a movie that could get these damn kids off drugs it would be this movie. This is way more entertaining than shooting up in a back ally trading loose teeth for syringes and if that's not enough of a reason not to do drugs either Dolph Lundgren or a 7 ft tall alien will shoot you in the face causing you and everything around you to explode. This week's episode has a special treat at the end. A song of the same name iinspired by the movie by the kick ass metal band Frank Castle. This episode is not like the others… Aaron digs deep with comedian John Heffron (Last Comic Standing, Netflix, Comedy Central) about some real “Grown Dad” stuff - killing chickens, water conservation, home security, the end of the world and being a general bad-ass Dad for your family. They became part of elite unit of Dads during this podcast. Check out John’s podcast, “The State I’m In” on iTunes! During the next few lessons in Room 4216 we consider “Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem”. Its the church season of Lent. Jesus as a man was tempted just like us. Is giving into a sin all that bad? If I want to not give in to temptation, how can I? Come join us.
http://searchforschlock.com/media/podcasts/sfs-082-MastersOfTheUniverse.mp3 Download MP3 Like a horrible cross between Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (from which it steals its score and special effects budget) and Howard the Duck (with which it shares a plot), Masters of the Universe is the terrible He-Man film adaptation you didn't know how much you didn't want or need. Beefcakey I Come In Peace star Dolph Lundgren squares off against Frank Langella from Frost/Nixon, and their battle for the fate of Eternia. As these things do, their epic struggle spills over into southern California, where it imperils all of earth, and also Courteney Cox (Misfits of Science). If you're one of those people who thinks the 80s were dumb, feel free to use this film as exhibit A. Original post located at searchforschlock.com.
Brian and Cargill continue Buddy Cop Month! Their adventures take them outside of anyone's jurisdiction as they chase alien drug dealers with Dolph Lundgren in I Come in Peace!
Listen Inside - Daily book previews from Readers in the Know by Simon Denman
Synopsis Six science fiction short stories written by the author of Pearseus, the epic fantasy series that has reached #1 on Amazon. This edition includes one extra story, written by Amos M. Carpenter. Although they seem to be concerned with various themes, there are certain passions that run through them, almost obsessively. What is the nature of reality; digital and corporeal? Is there more to the world than we can see? How far can we trust our senses? What are the consequences of our actions, and is it possible to change them? And if so, would we simply repeat same mistakes, or make new ones? The anthology includes “I Come in Peace”, an award-winning short story that deals with a tortuous question: how far would man go to alleviate his loneliness? Readers of Pearseus will certainly recognize here the birth of the Orbs. Humorous and poignant, these short stories are exciting, intriguing and imaginative. Excerpt The bartender rubbed a soiled glass with a dirty towel, not quite sure which one was cleaning the other. The bar might be a dusty, crummy drinking hole, but it was the closest one to the Academy. As such, it was busy every evening, as soon as the cadets were allowed to leave the walled premises. He stole a glance at his watch; soon the bar would fill with uniforms. A chuckle made him look up at the only full table. A bunch of cadets had gathered around the Veteran to listen to his story. The bartender had to admit the old man knew how to hold a crowd’s interest. He’d better; he must have told that story a million times in exchange for a drink. The Veteran had just started his tale. Staring into his empty glass, his eyes opened as if he was watching the Beasts approach once more. “You see, girls, things were different back then. Nowadays, each colony has its Academy and barracks in every major city. Back then, mankind had built a vast fleet of transports, but only a handful of military ships, safe in the illusion of its uniqueness.” A cute redhead with freckles interrupted him. “Surely you suspected we were not alone.” She scrunched her face as a blonde with short hair dug her elbow into the redhead’s ribs to stop her. The Veteran continued as if he had not been interrupted. “We were finally at peace after millennia of conflict. No one was prepared for the shock of encountering a hostile alien species; so alien, that communication was impossible. When we lost contact with the more remote colonies, we thought it was a glitch with our transmitters. As one colony after another fell silent, we sent ships. Not military ones, either. We had too few of those.” He took a napkin to his forehead to wipe beads of sweat and looked suggestively at the empty glass. “Can we have one more over here?” the blonde yelled across the bar, without even bothering to look at the bartender. A sweet smile played on the Veteran’s lips, and he licked them in anticipation. “Thank you, my love. Now, as I was saying, when the ships disappeared as well, we realized we had become complacent. I still remember the day we first saw the Beasts. A boy had beaten the odds to send us a video of their attack. I was a designer back then, waiting to go into a meeting. One of the secretaries rushed into the meeting room to switch the vid on. The poor thing aged ten years in a single moment.” The girls around him leaned away to allow the barman to deliver the man

In this episode we discuss Dark Angel, also known as I Come in Peace, starring Dolph Lundgren and Brian Benben.
Episode 1 is the story of Jeff Downey, a 22 year old kid from Harrisburg, PA, and takes place during March of 1992. Based on the answering machine messages compiled on him, Downey was a rebellious sort, as he possibly may have burned down the pizza place he worked at, which at the time was known as Moose-olini’s Pizza, a popular pizza chain in the tri-state area, renowned for its mascot, an animated, pizza-craving moose named Bennie the Moose (it is rumored that actor Joe Pesci provided the voice). Also, his mother is afraid that he is a heroin addict, his girlfriend thinks his punk band, Pokey, is trying too hard to sound like Operation Ivy, and the manager of the local video store is looking for Downey’s overdue rentals of such classics as Dolph Lundgren’s I Come in Peace and Martin Lawrence’s Talkin’ Dirty After Dark. Also, the Columbia House Record Club is going to take legal action for Downey’s nasty letter in response to receiving a cassette from early 90’s one hit wonders EMF.
This podcast is not just about another movie, the 1973 musical version of "Lost Horizon". It's about Reflections of yourself, the divine Approach when "I Come to You", and the Things I Will Not Miss. The movie's an incongruous knockout. This is because it's about Life.

Stebbins was born in ht e mid-1880s in New York and showed early musical prowess. At age twenty-three, he moved to Chicago where he worked in churches and became acquainted with some of the...
