Ask yes-or-no questions (e.g., "Is this related to a virus, bacteria, stress, etc.?"). If the chain link breaks apart, it's a “yes” or a match to your query; if it holds, it's a “no.” You can use this method to narrow down potential causes and identify next steps, like lab tests or treatments. 2.
