Notably, Donald Trump won the district by 22-points in 2024. 4:20pm- On Tuesday afternoon, President Trump held a cabinet meeting where he predicted that “in the not-too-distant future you won't even have an income tax to pay” thanks to importation tariffs. 4:30pm- A Washington Post report states that Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized a series of deadly strikes on a drug trafficking boat in the Caribbean, ordering military officials to “kill everybody.” The directive, according to the report, led to a second strike killing several crew members that survived the initial assault on the vessel. The New York Times, as well as the White House, dispute that Hegseth explicitly authorized the second strike or ordered to eliminate survivors. The NYT also reports that the “U.S. military intercepted radio communications from one of the survivors to what [officials] said were narco-traffickers.” 5:00pm- Bill D'Agostino— Senior Research Analyst at Media Research Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to break down some of the worst moments from corporate media and Democrats. This Day in Legal History: Armistice DayOn November 11, 1918, World War I came to an end with the signing of the Armistice between the Allies and Germany. While not a legal instrument in the treaty sense, the armistice was a binding agreement that had massive legal and geopolitical ramifications. Its terms, including a cessation of hostilities, withdrawal of German forces, and surrender of military equipment, were enforced by military and diplomatic means, laying the groundwork for the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. The legal aftermath of the war led to the creation of new nation-states, redrawn borders, and the first formal attempt at international governance through the League of Nations.November 11 would later be recognized in the United States as Veterans Day, originally commemorated as Armistice Day, reflecting the legal shift from honoring only WWI veterans to recognizing all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The legal transition occurred in 1954 when President Eisenhower signed legislation formally renaming the holiday. The legal framework surrounding veterans' benefits also expanded post-WWI, with landmark legislation like the GI Bill of Rights in 1944 and its subsequent reauthorizations, shaping how the U.S. compensates military service.Internationally, the armistice also contributed to legal debates over war guilt and reparations, particularly with Article 231 of the Treaty of Versailles—the so-called “War Guilt Clause”—which placed sole responsibility for the war on Germany and its allies. That clause became a flashpoint in both legal and political discussions and was later cited by Germany as a grievance contributing to the rise of Nazism and WWII.The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from Kim Davis, a former Kentucky county clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples following the 2015 Obergefell v. Davis had argued that her First Amendment right to free exercise of religion shielded her from liability, but lower courts rejected that defense, awarding damages and attorneys' fees exceeding $360,000 to plaintiffs David Ermold and David Moore. She is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and received her PhD in International Studies from the University of Denver.Kedric Payne leads the government ethics program at Campaign Legal Center, where he works to strengthen ethics laws and hold public officials accountable at the federal, state and local levels. He conducts investigations into government corruption and initiates legal actions against officials who violate the law. At CLC, Kedric has been at the forefront of advancing reforms on issues such as congressional stock trading, Supreme Court ethics enforcement, executive branch conflicts of interest, and state ethics commission autonomy. His legal work and analysis have been featured in major media outlets. He has also testified at congressional hearings on government ethics and accountability. Before joining CLC, Kedric built a broad legal career across all three branches of the federal government and in private practice. He began as a litigator at Cravath and later practiced political law at Skadden. He went on to serve as Deputy Chief Counsel at the Office of Congressional Ethics and as a Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he advised on federal ethics laws. In June of 2015, the Supreme Court made history by ruling that Jim Obergefell and other same-sex couples deserve the right to have their marriages legally recognized — not just in a few states, but across the country. It's strange to think that only happened ten years ago. Gay couples across the country have only had the right to marry the person they love since the year of Jurassic World and the first run of Hamilton and that dress on the internet that nobody could agree was blue and black or white and gold. And it was only eleven years before that, in 2004, that the very first legal gay wedding was held anywhere in the country.As we saw with Roe v Wade, though, Supreme Court cases can be overturned and rights can be taken away. Right now, there's real concern that the Supreme Court will re-examine Obergefell in the next year. In 2022, after Roe v Wade was struck down, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that the Court should turn their attention to other cases of equal rights… like Obergefell. And now, he might get his chance. Kentucky country clerk Kim Davis filed an official petition this month asking the Supreme Court to re-examine the case.Yes, that Kim Davis. The one who went to jail for 5 days in 2015 for refusing to sign marriage licenses for gay couples. Doesn't she have better things to do than work this hard to take away other people's rights?We have more than a decade of studies now that prove how much of a difference the right to marry has made for gay couples across the country. Married same-sex couples report better life satisfaction, better physical health, and higher rates of homeownership than unmarried same-sex couples. Once married, they can get on each other's health insurance, file taxes jointly, and act as legal next of kin in cases of life or death.By contrast, not a single study has been able to prove any negative effects. But the Supreme Court also has no official standards of ethics. Just think — the highest court in the country, making these incredibly important decisions, with nothing stopping them from ruling according to extremist ideology or even greed. Justice Clarence Thomas, for instance, has accepted millions of dollars of gifts from Republican megadonor Harlan Crow. And his wife Ginni is a far-right extremist who pushed for Republicans to overturn the results of the 2020 election. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, an Egyptian national, illegally in the U.S. allegedly attacked Jewish Americans, including a Holocaust survivor, in Boulder, Colorado.  The Biden administration's lax vetting and work permit issuance enabled this incident. How many people do we have like this in America? Immigration should benefit American citizens, who decide who enters and why. Immigrants must respect and contribute to the country or leave. It's not for importing Islamists, Marxists, criminals, spies, or anti-Semites.  Also, several questions come to mind on the published reports of an Iran deal. How do we know the Iranians will reveal all enrichment sites and enriched material to this consortium?  Will we have access to their country to inspect anywhere we wish?  Won't the Iranians play along for a few years and then, after the initial period and after the Trump presidency is over, thumb its nose at the world and breakout?  Later, Sen Ted Cruz calls in to discuss the Democrats and federal judges who hare undermining the Constitution and the rule of law. Democrats are supporting lawless rouge judges who issue nationwide injunctions to block the Trump administration's agenda. He also criticizes Democrats for hypocrisy, pointing to their silence when mobs protested at Supreme Court justices' homes and their attacks on justices like Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. Afterwards, Mark contrasts Alexander Hamilton's vision of a strong central government with Jefferson and Madison's preference for limited federal power and strong state authority. Hamilton's ideas, like a lifelong executive and senators, were rejected by most framers, who favored state-centric governance, as Madison emphasized in Federalist 45. Hamilton's support for implied powers (Federalist 33) appeals to modern advocates of activist government.  Finally, Miranda Devine calls in to discuss Anthony Bernal, Jill Biden's chief of staff, who played a role in concealing Joe Biden's cognitive decline during his presidency. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the passing of Pope Francis is deeply saddening for Catholics and non-Catholics, following his recent meeting with J.D. Vance and Easter ceremonies. The papacy holds immense significance, with Pope John Paul II widely revered as an influential modern leader and freedom fighter who played a key role in the Soviet Union's downfall. Afterward, we could be on the precipice of Iran developing a nuclear warhead with an ICMB aimed at America if things don't turn out right in the Iranian negotiations. If there is to be some kind of deal it would have to ensure that inspectors from the U.S., or the E.U actually get to inspect anywhere at any time but it's doubtful Iran would permit that.  President Obama led Iran's path to a nuke, President Biden helped fund and protect Iran, and it will be left to President Trump to say that's enough.  We are looking terrorists in the eye who are threatening tens of millions of us with death as they are developing nuclear weapons and are within weeks of succeeding. Is there any generation of Americans before us that would not have dealt a deadly blow to such an enemy before they could destroy us?  Will we be the first?  It's not as if this is the imagination of the "warmongers" run amok. And how insane are those who demand that we essentially ignore this threat or appease it in some fashion?   Later, the media's fixation on Abrego Garcia is sickening. He received due process before an immigration law judge and a board, was ordered deported, but evaded authorities. The Democrats' support for Garcia reveals their hypocrisy. Their latest cause célèbre is an MS-13-affiliated domestic abuser who was already granted due process. Also, Justice Samuel Alito, joined by Justice Clarence Thomas, dissented in the Supreme Court's midnight order in A.A.R.P. v. Trump, which blocked the Trump administration from deporting Venezuelan migrants under the Alien Enemies Act, arguing the decision was hasty, premature, and lacked clear jurisdiction. When the Supreme Court brazenly violates its own precedent and, indeed, a federal statute as it did Saturday morning, can that order be ignored? What would the Framers say? All this talk about the administration not complying with this or that court, here we have the High Court violating process and the law and apparently, there is no recourse.
