The calendar says we've got to start over. New year, new you, new business models, new goals. Even if the calendar isn't a magical starting point, it does represent new stuff. Could be a new reporting year, a new fiscal year, or a great impetus to start fresh. When we do this, we might consider re-creating the wheel. Throw it all out and start over completely. That may be necessary, but it might be overkill. It could be the case that the wheel itself is just fine, but the tread is not right for the terrain. The wheel metaphor can be used as a status quo - no need to re-create the wheel. But the chance to make a better wheel always exists and can get people fired up for new hotness. As you move into this new year, here are some considerations for you and your team: 1. Success is never static - it's important to continuously innovate and grow. 2. Leaders must assess and refine their strategies constantly. Embrace change for growth and improvement, as change is the only constant. 3. Reflection, assessment, and dreaming big are crucial for successful planning. dreaming big, and tweaking goals for continuous improvement. There is no shortage of opportunity for improvement and the success can be measured in people served, employee engagement, and revenue. The important component is to know what your wheel is, what it's to be used for, and whether it is the best possible option for the goal you are trying to reach. As you reflect on the insights of the No More Leadership BS team, consider the degree to which your wheel (plan, approach, expectations) is calibrated to get you to where you want to be. There is no reason to re-create the wheel, but you may have a need to change nearly every aspect of the wheel you do have.

SUSAN MACKENTY BRADY:  Thank you for having me. Arrive and Thrive - The Book WENDY GROUNDS:  Yeah, we're excited to talk about this book. To start off, won't you tell us why you wrote this book? SUSAN MACKENTY BRADY:  You know, there's two answers to that question.  You want both?  There's first a real answer about how it came to be, which was because I am not an academic.  I have been in business and specifically in leadership development.  I've been a student and teacher of leadership since I can recall.  I've a Master's in Behavioral Science and Leadership Education.  And I have to say, when I came to Simmons University and was awarded the endowed chair, it's the Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Chair for Women in Leadership, my first question is what does one do to be worthy of an endowed chair in an academic environment?  Because I actually didn't know that non-PhDs were awarded chairs.  Apparently it's more common than we know. But my answer was whatever you want it to be. So it was actually around a talking circle with two senior partners from Deloitte and the current President of the University, who awarded me the chair.  And we're all C-level.  We've run organizations.  We've run business units,

Today we dive into this inquiry: "What is draining, dimming or distorting your radiance? " Remember, Radiance is your light. The brightness and strength of your radiance effect everything from your wellbeing, your physical health, your ability to get your gifts and genius into the world, your access to your intuition and power, and how you feel about  yourself, your life and the world.  Our theme for this series is STAY LIGHT - not as a spiritual platitude but as a directive from the Universe and a real practice we put into place in our daily lives. Last session we explored what Radiance is, and what restores and retains yours. In this Feminine Power Time #186, our intention is to illuminate what's draining or dimming your radiance, so you can see it, name it and be at choice with how to work with the forces that pull you down and dim, so you can can stay light and bright even in this challenging time in the world. We'll start where we always start which is where you have the power within you to make shifts, no matter what the outside world does. We'll dive into 5 different ways I've noticed our Radiance gets drained,  dimmed or distorted because of what's happpening within us. to help you remember, we use alleteration, giving them all F's ... for "What's f-ing with my Light! :) LOL> we need to stay light as we dive into this heavy stuff. Here are 6 ways we drain, dim or distort our Radiance 1. Forcing 2. Forgetting  3. Feeling Like... 4. Frustation at Feeling Stuck 5. Fragmenting Your Focus  6. Frequency  I'll share the signs these are present within you, give real life examples and share some of my practices for how I transform the radiance dimmers, and elevate my mood, perspective and energy.  At the end I'll guide you through a embodied meditation that tunes you into where your Radiance is getting drained, and a 3-step process to rise out of the muck into the light.  Lots of good stuff in here.
