Episode 518 – Your Idea of Good Evolves   Today we have Ashley. She's 25 years old from Spokane, WA and took her last drink on September 22nd, 2024.   Sponsor for this episode:   Better Help – 10% off your first month   This February, we are doing our first ever alcohol-free singer-songwriter course. In this six-week course you're going to connect with other sober musicians. You're going to improve your songwriting skills and hear from professional musicians. We will all write our own songs which we will share in the last week.   Registration is open for Recovery Elevator's first ever Men's Retreat will be April 5th through the 12th in Costa Rica.   [03:17] Thoughts from Paul:   Quoting Yung Pueblo, “Maturity is knowing that endings are a part of life. Jobs change, who you hang out with changes. Your idea of what is ‘good' evolves. An ending is a sign that you're opening a new chapter.”   There's a saying in this space that we stop maturing when our drinking becomes problematic. When alcohol begins to take over every aspect in our lives, our maturation is halted. Our idea of what is good evolves, but it doesn't evolve when we keep labeling booze as a good time.   Start using your brain to build your alcohol-free life in your mind. Eventually the universe will line up to make this happen, in fact, it's already happening. Think about the podcast you are listening to and how you got here. You're probably way further down this journey than you think.   [07:30] Paul introduces Ashley:   Ashley lives in Spokane, WA and works for a cleaning business. She enjoys crafting and journaling. Right now she is working on a scrapbook that looks like a Vision Board for 2025.   Ashley says she didn't really drink until college. When COVID shut everything down in 2020, Ashley was a junior in college and had just turned 21. She was living alone in a studio apartment and got to drink the way that she wanted to drink. When she noticed her drinking ramp up, she started to cut it back a bit.   After the shutdown was lifted, Ashley started bartending and didn't want to drink much on the job. That shifted a bit when she changed jobs and was working at a brewery where she and other coworkers would take drinking breaks while on their shift. Over time she recognized she was drinking too much and tried to moderate at least at work.   Ashley began to recognize that she didn't like that she was becoming very cynical while at this job. She talked to her partner about it, and he encouraged her to leave the job since it was affecting her so negatively. Ashley took the time off after quitting to do whatever she wanted and saw her drinking increase. She would hide her bottles so her partner wouldn't see how much she was actually drinking.   On the day of her last drink, Ashley and her partner had gone out and bar hopped. Ashley ended up blacking out and when she woke up, her partner was gone. She could not remember most of the night before and wasn't sure  what was going to happen next but knew she could no longer drink.   Ashley says the first two days were full of anxiety, but she just focused on one day at a time. She distracted herself with movies and video games. At therapy that week, she shared where she was with alcohol for the first time. Her therapist recommended the I Am Sober app which Ashley found very helpful. The cravings have decreased over the last few months and when they do happen, she plays the tape forward. Since quitting Ashley says her depression and anxiety has reduced dramatically. She has more energy, and her routines have become more consistent. Ashley is happy to find she can still socialize even without alcohol.   Ashley's parting piece of guidance: it is important for you to look inside yourself and see if it's actually something you want to do or if you're afraid to do it, maybe look into why you're afraid to do it.   Recovery Elevator Rule 22, let's lighten up, not take ourselves too seriously. Today's episode it's all about finding and developing your Big Idea for your thought leadership and public speaking. Ideas are incredibly powerful; they can live on for years, centuries, even millennia. Ideas spark movements for political and social change. Ideas help us as humans understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us Your idea doesn't have to be something people have never heard of before; that's unlikely as most things have been talked about before - and that's ok! As a speaker, you want to have something interesting and unique to talk about, you want to make a positive impact on your audience, and you want to develop your thought leadership Perhaps you're not sure what makes a good idea or which of your ideas is the best one. It all feels a bit messy and muddy. That's what I'm going to help you with in this episode! Think of me as your idea whisperer. No A.I. voices are ever used in the show.IN THIS EPISODE: The horror entertainment industry would make you think that Satan is everywhere, controlling world leaders, possessing church pastors, inhabiting the bodies of kids who play with Ouija boards, even somehow controlling your children's dolls or other toys… all in the name of the Lord Lucifer. Ironically, Satan is only mentioned a handful of times in the bible, despite what you've been led to believe by Hollywood. The image of Satan we typically envision is actually not from the bible at all, but from a poem. Most Satanists, despite the clever name, don't openly worship the devil. And while I do believe in Satan and the danger he poses – I believe we are giving him way too much credit for some things – especially some of the conspiracy theories people believe, or blaming him for when we do bad things, (i.e., “the devil made me do it!”). That being said, there are some areas that you have to wonder if perhaps he truly did place his crooked finger upon in order to insert his evil influence. What does Satan look like? What's the meaning of 666? Do people really kill in the name of Satan? Are some places or objects somehow under a Satanic influence? We recently (August 2024) hosted a 90-minute in-person workshop on personal branding for ATHENA NextGen alumni in Orlando, Florida.  It was a lot of fun and the women who attended loved seeing how all their threads connect in their personal brand. We also had them define their brand voice using our Brand Voice Canvas framework and create their personal brand action plan using our Pillars of Your Personal Brand  framework. Along with this workshop we facilitated, we've done 9 client VIP Days (!) in the past month, so things have been a bit busy.   Hence, a “best of” episode for the podcast this week. :-) This episode originally aired on October 2, 2023, and it's as relevant as ever. In the age of more & more content (whether human- or AI-created), your personal brand matters more than ever. Potential clients and event organizers can easily find lots of experts in what you do. What you want them to realize is what sets you apart and why they should pick you. That's where your personal brand and thought leadership come in. I know you want to have a positive impact on the world and you may feel like cultivating a personal brand is unnecessary or self-indulgent or you just don't have time for it. But, here's the thing: you have a personal brand, everyone does. It's how other people would describe you;  not just your qualities like are you smart, kind, professional, but also what matters to you. Do people know what matters to you, the better world you imagine? In this episode, you'll hear: How your business connects to your thought leadership How your personal brand connects to your thought leadership Example from my own personal brand and thought leadership Pushback I got early on when I started my business about a particular aspect of my personal brand Finding the consistency and commonality among all of the threads in your career What humans have over AI when it comes to storytelling This episode originally aired on October 2, 2023.   Links: Show notes at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/408/ Discover your Speaker Archetype by taking our free quiz at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/quiz/ Connect on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolcox Related Podcast Episodes: Episode 343: Why YOU are the Messenger for Your Idea and Audience Episode 259: Connecting Your Business and Your Thought Leadership Personal Brand podcast series, episodes 332-335

If your ideas feel a bit - or a lot - messy and muddy, you're far from alone. This is the #1 challenge I hear from women we work with. We're too close to our own ideas so we're not sure what our audiences will be interested in. We feel self-doubt or resistance that causes analysis paralysis. We try to put too much information into our talks (hello, expert trap!). This is why we are your idea whisperers. In this episode, I share: Why it's hard to get clarity on our own ideas Why you need a clear throughline that's a palm tree and not an oak tree The biggest reason why all of your ideas feel overwhelming Specific things you can do to get clarity The purpose of resistance and vulnerability in your idea formation    Show notes at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/402/  Discover your Speaker Archetype by taking our free quiz at https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/quiz/  Enroll in our Thought Leader Academy: https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/academy/  Attend our 1-day Speaking for Impact in-person workshop in Orlando: https://www.speakingyourbrand.com/workshop/  Connect on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolcox  Related Podcast Episodes: Episode 354: Finding and Developing Your Big I.D.E.A. Over 3 days, I heard 35 speakers deliver their TED talks, on topics ranging from democracy to abortion rights, menopause to artificial intelligence.  Of course, as I was sitting in the audience, I was taking lots of notes on each speaker, how they structured their talk, the elements they included, and how they delivered it. I've taken those notes and identified 7 key things the best speakers do. Whether you're delivering a TEDx talk, a keynote, a conference session, or a business presentation, you can use these 7 things to make your talks impactful and memorable. Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning

Welcome back to Season 10 of The Neuroscience Meets Social and Emotional Learning Podcast, where we connect the science-based evidence behind social and emotional learning (that's finally being taught in our schools today) and emotional intelligence training (used in our modern workplaces) for improved well-being, achievement, productivity and results—using what I saw as the missing link (since we weren't taught this when we were growing up in school), the application of practical neuroscience. I'm Andrea Samadi, an author, and an educator with a passion for learning and launched this podcast 5 years ago with the goal of bringing ALL the leading experts together (in one place) to uncover the most current research that would back up how the brain learns best, taking us ALL to new, and often unimaginable heights.    Today we're going to go back to where we left off with EPISODE #291 “Unleashing the Power of Our Subconscious Mind” where we covered: ✔ A review of where our podcast began, and where we are going. Each episode we create, it becomes clearer to me that social and emotional skills are important for understanding who we are, and are crucial for propelling us forward. Social and emotional competencies form the backbone of who we are (our identity), along with our character, and I'd like to continue to uncover how science can strengthen this understanding, (with the topics I chosen listed in the diagram in the show notes) expanding our awareness as we move towards our goals, or whatever it is we are working on.     I remember professor of psychology, Maurice Elias summed it up well when he spoke about where SEL began for him in the mid 1970s. He saw a need for these SEL skills back then, (decades before they were infused into our classrooms) saying these skills “could propel someone forward” but he mentioned the importance of “character to steer our direction.” I've not forgotten about Character, it's an important topic that I've been writing about in my spare time. We'll cover the basic character traits in the future, showing were character fits into this equation. I know there's a lot to the formula for success, and I don't want to leave any stones unturned. For today's episode #293, we are going back to the basics, with the Fundamentals that started for me with those 12 teenagers all those years ago. When I was speaking with Brian Proctor, on our last episode, #292,[i] it hit me that some concepts we had both heard over and over again (like the hour glass that Brian put on the cover of his book that represented staying in the present moment- I had forgotten that's what it meant. I would have told a story about it representing the fact we only have a certain amount of time to live our life, and to live each moment to the fullest) reminding me of the importance of reviewing these lessons. Or some of the phrases we used to hear over and over again like “you don't need to know HOW you are going to do something, just figure out what it is that you want, and the how will show up.”  All of the concepts that we heard, that yielded results for anyone who studied and applied them, were ideas that were simple enough to understand, yet most people never followed through with them. This is what Brian Proctor wrote about in his book, and there were many lessons he learned that went much deeper than the usual topics like goal-setting, or confidence building, but there was a foundational level that everyone started with, and I'd say it was with those Fundamental lessons that we taught to the teens. We recently covered “Diving Deeper into Our Subconscious Mind”[ii] (which was the 4th tape the teens learned). Today we will cover some of the important concepts of “Using the Conscious Mind and Our Senses” and in a couple of days (when I've written the next episode, we'll cover)  “Going Beyond Our Senses: Using the Faculties of Our Mind.” This will provide us all with the solid background of these success principles that I saw working for so many people over the years. I even heard from Ryan O'Neill, from EPISODE 203[iii] recently. He's the paranormal researcher I worked with years ago, who took these ideas and used them for his family, as well as for his own results, where he skyrocketed to high levels of achievement with his work, but I would say his results were predictable. He did things a certain way. Would you know he's still reading the book I sent him in the mail (from Arizona to Scotland) in 2013, and tabbed 3 specific chapters, explaining the importance of reading Wallace Wattles “The Science of Getting Rich” book, chapters 4/14/7 in that order. I'll cover this book, (that inspired Rhonda Byrnes to create the movie, The Secret) on my next deep dive at the end of the year, but if you look at Ryan's book, from the photo is the show notes, you can tell that he actually READS it! And I don't need to see the book to know this, as his results tell me what's happening in his mind. It's all begins with this picture where you use your imagination factor to create whatever it is you want, in your mind. I didn't cover the part where we think in pictures, because I think I've covered this enough on the podcast with our review of The Silva Method.[iv]   WHAT SHOULD WE UNDERSTAND ABOUT OUR CONSCIOUS MIND, so we can be sure we are using it to achieve results like Ryan O'Neill and thousands of others?   1: LEARN TO USE OUR 5 SENSES, BUT KEEP IN MIND THEY ARE LIMITED: Imagine your mind with your conscious mind as the top part of your head, the subconscious is the bottom, and your body is below this circle. Attached to your conscious mind is your 5 senses, that you use to see, hear, smell, taste and touch the outside world with. We also have the higher faculties of the mind (our ability to reason, our intuition, perception, will, memory and imagination) that help us to go beyond our 5 senses. Why would we want to think beyond our five senses? This is where David Eagleman's book, The Brain, or his podcast, Inner Cosmos, ties the science to something I had heard often over the years, but the way that Eagleman describes it, completely made sense to me.  He explains that our biology allows us to “see” certain wavelengths but we actually only see “a tenth of a trillionth of the light waves out there”[v] meaning there is much more than our human eyes can see. He expands this idea and dives into an explanation of how “radio waves, x-rays, gamma rays all have different frequencies, and we are completely unaware of them because our biology wasn't designed that way.” (Inner Cosmos Podcast). He says that “our brains are sampling just a little bit of the world” so I translated this back to what we taught those teens. We told them “don't look at what you can see with your eyes (whether it be poor grades, sports results, money in your bank account), just be open to the fact that you can change what you see, by doing things a certain way, completely changing your results. 2: REMEMBER WE HAVE THE AMAZING ABILITY TO THINK and it's the conscious mind that we call the thinking mind.  It hit me while listening to Brian Proctor's interview, that when his Dad was asking us “what do you really want” he wanted to see if we had the ability to answer him. Could we think new and original thoughts, or would we just look at him and say “I don't know.” This ability to think is what will determine our results in life, and like I said with Ryan O'Neill, his ability to think made it easy to predict the results he would have in television, by the fact he is still studying, learning, reading and applying what he is learning for these new results. It's in our conscious mind that we have the ability to THINK new thoughts, or take ideas and IMAGINE them on the screen of our minds. But how many of us create NEW ideas? Look around you right now, and notice what others are doing. Ask them questions, and see what's on their mind? I remember while studying the basics of Neuroscience with Mark Waldman, he would often say, “please interrupt me, and challenge things that I'm teaching you” as this would show that his students are thinking critically, and not just taking notes. 3: USE YOUR 5 SENSES TO GATHER INFORMATION, AND THEN GET CREATIVE taking your thoughts or ideas to a new level, using your 6 higher faculties. Imagine an idea coming into your mind. You can sense the idea, and then think about it. Do you like the idea? Does it make sense to you? You have the ability to reject an idea (using your reasoning faculty), but if you like the idea, and you accept it, maybe you even love this idea, you now send it over to your subconscious mind, that we went deep into on EP 291[vi]. This is the creative process where you take an idea (a thought), spend some time in thought about it, decide you like the idea, and with emotion, you turn it over to your subconscious mind where the magic begins. This is how Proctor taught the teens to turn their C grades into A grades (by teaching them to see an A grade with their imagination FIRST). Once they could see the new grade, they started taking the actions needed to actually earn this A grade, but it started with their ability to put this conscious idea in their mind first. They had to THINK! We heard so many stories like this over the years, especially in sports. A golfer described how he would picture the golf ball going into the cup in his imagination first, and evening hearing it spinning around. PUTTING OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONSCIOUS MIND INTO PRACTICE: Take out a notepad and sketch out the diagram of the conscious mind, subconscious mind and the body (that was created by Dr. Thurman Fleet in 1934). Here's my sketch below. Now start to THINK. What do you really want? Write out YOUR IDEA, circle it, and if you resonate with what you have written, add emotion to it, and see what comes to mind when you READ what you've written. If it's a goal that stretches you, like we've mentioned before, you might read it and think “this is too far off from where I am right now” but it's here we will take the higher faculties of the mind (next episode) to help change this discord. But for now, just notice how you feel. Use your conscious mind to either accept the new idea, or reject it. When I first wrote on my notepad that I wanted to make neuroscience simple for educators and students, I remember almost wanting to hide my notebook, and not tell anyone this is what I wanted to do. It just seemed so far off from where I was, and I wasn't sure how I would ever do this. Now, I receive emails from leaders around the world, looking to see how they can add simple neuroscience into their curriculum. It just boggles my mind that it started with writing out an idea, and then taking action on the idea, until finally, one day, you look up, and you are living what you wrote. To review and close out this episode on “Using the Conscious Mind and the 5 Senses” we covered: ✔ 3 concepts about our conscious mind and our senses to help us to THINK. ✔ An activity encouraging us to write out something we REALLY want, and see how we feel about this NEW goal or idea. This will prepare us for our next episode, where we will then look at the 6 faculties of our mind (our reason, intuition, perception, our will, memory and imagination) to help us to see beyond our senses. I hope this lesson has helped you to see some of the fundamentals that I've seen take people to incredible heights. Brian Proctor outlined some other lessons learned on our last interview, and I wasn't surprised at the reaction to his episode. I always love hearing how these episodes are helping you, and Brian's interview was one I'll never forget. I'll see you in a few days for a look into the faculties of our mind, and will close with a quote reminding us to THINK. If you don't like what you see in your world, (whether you're a student, and want to change your grades, or an athlete or a salesperson who wants to change their results, it all begins with the conscious mind, and our ability to THINK, and CREATE the results we really want in our life. Our brains are preoccupied, our attention spans are short, our energy is often negative, we're addicted to news and social media, and at times we're sleep starved. But thanks to the power of a deep breath, we can overcome all this and achieve success! In this episode, Sandy Abrams discusses the transforming impact of breathing in both our business and personal lives. It can be nothing short of miraculous to take three deep breaths at critical times. You'll become more focused and engaged with Sandy's simple and effective breathing practices. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: Reinventing ideas into business Taking a deep breath to connect your mind and body Breathing can transform how you think and feel about yourself Learning how employers can breathe new life into teams, amplifying their companies' cultures and goals [8:54] Reinventing Ideas Into Business The thing about Reinvention is that it will only happen if you become aware of it. Sandy's entrepreneurial journey started when she turned a product idea into something meaningful. Through her book, Idea Inc., Sandy helps people turn their ideas into business. She shares her experiences in business to empower others. [14:32] Take a Deep Breath to Connect Your Mind and Body The first step in taking a deep breath to ease your mind and body is setting your alarm. Take three 10-second deep breaths or 60–90-second deep breaths while in the shower, brushing your teeth, and making coffee in the morning. [17:06] Your Breath Is Transforming How You Think and Feel About Yourself Our breath has the power to impact our nervous systems. When Sandy started her business, she didn't know anything about logistics, textile making, or manufacturing. Through the power of deep breathing, she reframed her thoughts of feeling ignorant and became a confident woman in business. [32:11] Employers Can Breathe New Life Into Teams and Amplify a Company's Culture and Goals Companies should be mindful to prioritize the well-being of their employees by striking a balance between work and personal life. They can do this through cooperative retreats and the like. This will have a positive impact on both the employees and the organization. Guest Bio: Sandy Abrams is an author, entrepreneur, and public speaker. She is the author of two business books: Your Idea, Inc., and Breathe to Succeed. Are you interested in making a documentary but you don't know where to start? Perhaps you are waiting for that magical phone call that will change everything? At Burning Boat, we have got experience with creating unique ideas and we believe it all starts with the foundations - ergo YOUR IDEA.In this episode, we highlight the importance of taking a risk and how some risky choices can result in favourable outcomes as Mads takes us through his experience with pitching his idea to a Hollywood producer. We will go through how important it is to reflect on the idea creation from an audience to innovation perspective - or how to grasp the concept of originality, whilst offering something new to a specific group of people in mind. Furthermore, the talk also shifts towards dedication and conviction to the aforementioned idea and how doubt can cloud or demotivate the momentum of this idea. For those who are more detail-oriented, we also mention how leaning towards one's weakness could result also in an original iteration of an idea and how it can be taken advantage of and turned into a strength. Watch Mads and Taylor talk in this video about the idea generation journey; how to develop and push your idea and how even YOU can get that 100,000$ investment.00:00 - 00:45 - Introduction00:46 - 02:35 - Importance of Risk02:36 - 02:46 - Prelude to Tips02:47 - 03:01 - 1. What skills or experience do you have that people want or need and will create you an income. What's the motivator for wanting to start a business? If you can tell me, then you know it; but if you cannot tell me, then you do not know it. When you see it clearly in the mind's eye the greater you will inspire the words which are necessary to clothe the idea and express it beautifully, and you will express the idea far better than a man with a vast vocabulary who does not see it as clearly as you do." Who you know can make up for what you don’t know in business. That personal touch served Sandy Abrams well when she started her company, Moisture Jamzz, in 1993.Sandy’s idea for moisturizing gloves wasn’t new, but she was convinced she could improve on the existing product. The trouble was, she had no experience in business or the textile industry. Undeterred, Sandy hit Los Angeles’s garment district. Taking the time to cultivate personal relationships helped her find a manufacturer who would fulfill her first tiny order. With samples in hand, Sandy went in person to stores and trade shows to pitch her product. “Bed, Bath and Beyond was our first big account,” she remembers.Sandy still believes that strong relationships are essential for doing business. “The better you know a buyer, the more likely they are to work with you when challenges come up,” she says. Sandy turned her experience of building a business from scratch into her first book, Your Idea, Inc., published in 2010. The book’s success garnered attention from the business world, and invites to speak at conferences. Over the next few years, Sandy witnessed the many benefits new technology like social media brought to businesses. But she also saw her fellow entrepreneurs spending more time working, getting burned out.Sandy had a strategy for dealing with entrepreneurial-induced stress: she’d been “addicted to yoga” since 1989, becoming an instructor in 1995. It helped her relax and be more productive at work. In 2019, Sandy published her second book, Breathe to Succeed, outlining breathing, meditation and yoga techniques to other busy entrepreneurs. “I'm a Type A fast-paced person, yet I can find myself meditating in 30 second snippets throughout the day. If I can do it, you can do this.”Featured Entrepreneur

Have the courage to follow your own thoughts, Ideas and perspectives. Your Idea may be groundbreaking. Don't wait to find out. Everyone knows the saying "You are what you eat". I would take It a step further and say you are what you consume, regardless of what kind. Eliminate negativity In as many ways as you can. Being cognizant of what you are consuming will allow you to easily eliminate negative aspects of your life. Start with Instagram, that's easy. After you do, pay attention. See If you spot any difference, In yourself or your mindset. Even If It Is tiny. If It's positive, I encourage you to take It further. Negative consumption comes In far more forms than just sugary foods. Eliminate all the negativity you can. #218: 7 Steps to Pre-Selling Your Course

Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield

As an entrepreneur, your business is constantly changing—that’s the beauty of being an entrepreneur.   And here’s the thing: YOU change too. You change your mind about things you used to be adamant about. I’ve experienced this myself. For example, when it came to creating courses, five years ago I would have said: Concentrate on building your course, don’t worry about the selling. But since then I have had a change of heart. I’ve watched my students inside of my training program Courses That Convert, and I’ve seen a need that I did not see years ago. That need is around launching their course before they have 100% completed it. Now I talk about the benefits of pre-selling your course, or selling it in advance of the course being done, then delivering your content each week via a LIVE workshop to a group of founding members who have already paid. So this episode is going to walk you through the exact steps that go into pre-selling a course. I am going to walk you through the pieces you’ll need to make your offer, get your first students through the door, and deliver your content. There are a few reasons I like this strategy:   #1: Pre-selling is a big validator of your course idea.   #2: Pre-selling helps you build confidence about your training. Nothing builds confidence more than getting a few PAYING students through the door. #3: Pre-selling helps with cash flow! I know that building a course and getting your online course up and running can sometimes be a bit of a pinch on your finances. That’s why pre-selling is great—to bring in a bit of money to help you pay for some of those expenses. #4: Pre-selling helps you build momentum and accountability. By selling before your content has been created, you have no choice but to deliver! This helps you avoid the “it’s been a year and my course is still languishing” syndrome! #5: Lastly, you get immediate feedback from actual students when you pre-sell. Since it’s more of a live interaction, you can tweak your content based on the feedback before you launch again. By the way, this episode was brought to you by Courses that Convert…I teach a much more robust version of this process in that course, with step-by-step plans and templates. Learn more by attending my free masterclass “How to Confidently Create Your First Profitable Course in 60 Days.” So if you’re as excited as I am about pre-selling your course, here are seven steps to get you started. The 7 Steps to Pre-Selling Your Course Step 1: Determine Your Course Offer First, you will determine your pricing and what kind of “course package” you’ll be offering. Step 2: Set Up Your Early Interest Page Once you figure out your offer, it’s time to set a page where you can capture interest about your course. You’ll need to create an opt-in to collect first names and email addresses, and include a teaser about what they can expect. You’ll also want to create a follow-up email for everyone who opted in. Step 3: Create Your 30-Day Content Blitz Come up with content ideas for your blog, podcast, Facebook Lives, etc., and then schedule your content so you’re releasing something new every week for 30 days. Remember to include a call to action at the end of your content, asking your audience to sign up for the course if they want to learn more. (All traffic from this content will go to your Early Interest Page.) Step 4: Set Up Your Checkout Page This page should include information about your course such as the benefits and the features. Step 5: Set Up Your Live Workshop Components In this step you will want to create the shell of your member’s site so when you start delivering your content you have a place to load it. You’ll also need to determine the details of your training and decide on the platform you’ll be delivering it. Set up all the components you’ll need to ultimately deliver your live content—links, welcome emails, a VA, etc.—so that you’re ready to go. As you deliver your live content, you will load up your recordings into your course platform for your paying members to access. Step 6: Promote a 48-Hour Flash Sale Offer Your 48-hour flash sale offer will include two emails: The first is sent to your Early Interest list and informs them of your limited time offer, what’s included in the program, the number of spots available, and a link to your checkout page. Your second email gives them one more chance to sign up. In this step, you also have the option to include a webinar training as part of your pre-sell strategy. Step 7: Deliver Your Content You’re now done with the selling portion of your pre-sell offer. All that’s left is delivering your content! Remember to create your slide decks, prepare any cheat sheets or other bonuses, remind your students before each new training, and then upload your content to your member’s site once you’re done delivering it.
