Tuan Andrew Nguyen, who was born in Vietnam in 1976, was only two years old when his family were made refugees by the war. They ended up in Texas, in the US and in his early twenties, he decided to return to the city his parents had once fled. Here in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, Tuan has become an artist of many mediums. Telling stories through film, sculpture and installations, his work often explores how memories haunt the present and the power of art to heal. Reporter Eliza Lomas joins Tuan in his home studio and workshop, as he shares his process for creating an ongoing series of resonant mobile sculptures. Made from once highly explosive bomb material left over from the war, Tuan reflects on how beliefs in animism and reincarnation inform his work, and why he's drawn to transforming these objects of war, which are still excavated on a daily basis in Vietnam, into resonant sculptures of peace.
Jennifer Kwan, MD PhD, and Andrew Nguyen, MD discuss clonal hematopoiesis and the associated risk of cardiotoxicity during solid tumor treatment.

“Successful business owners take the time to curate their circle.”—Monique Bryan To take your business to the next level, you need help. We all do! But you need to take time to curate who — and when — you hire. Which means you need to know who you are in terms of your personal brand, and where you are in your business journey, to know what help you need right now. In this #Dirty30Live episode of The Juicy CEO Podcast, I share each step you need to take before outsourcing help, so that you can curate your business support squad with confidence, authenticity, and intentionality. If something is missing, it might be time to hire an expert. But to hire with power and intentionality means hiring the right expert at the right time. You don't need to hire a web designer or copywriter if your brand voice isn't telling your story (which so many people do)... To become a beacon for dream clients, you firstly need to work on your personal brand with a personal brand strategist (Hey, girl!) — so that copywriters and web designers can work their magic to tell your story using your crystal-clear brand voice, identity, and image. In this episode of The Juicy CEO Podcast, you'll discover: What you need to know about the area you're hiring for when outsourcing expert help (while staying in your lane as the go-to expert in yours)! That you need to communicate a distinct brand voice before building your brand identity (your visuals) Why it might be time to take some time away from social media and develop your online strategy (before hiring experts to execute your brand image)! “When you learn how to own your lane, your space, and become top of mind for your dream customer, you have set yourself up for success.”-—Monique BryanA confused customer does not buy.If you offer multiple options, you risk becoming an option — and being an option for your dream client is not an option! By offering a solution to a single problem, you become known for one thing. You can of course be multifaceted in how you work with your clients, but your messaging must be crystal clear and focused. To become top of mind for your dream audience, you not only need to choose a lane — you need to be the go-to expert that your customers choose by owning your lane. And I know you don't want to hear this, but in order to establish yourself in your space, you've got to be committed to your lane for the next three to five years. In this #Dirty30Live episode, I share why sticking to your lane is essential to set yourself up for sustainable success.Because when you build a brand with staying power, you deliver brand promise, and the trust and credibility gained by inviting your customers to join you on your journey means they will be with you when you're ready to switch lanes. In this episode of The Juicy CEO Podcast, you'll discover: Why you should study how business owners you admire built their brand from startup to success (on socials and beyond)The importance of taking time (today) to ask yourself who you want to serve, why you want to serve them, and the thing you want to be known for (and writing this message in no more than two sentences)That you need to give yourself time and the space to be even better — building a plan over a set period that involves resources and goals — don't be impatient! As the owner, visionary, and leader of your business, you are the most valued person, but that doesn't always mean you put yourself (and wellbeing) first — and if you're not supported, your business will suffer.Which is where your squad comes in. Your squad is your support network. These people keep you together, hold you accountable, and lift you up.In this episode of the #Dirty30Live, I talk through the 3 main support groups every business owner needs to run a successful business (without running yourself into the ground)! Here's a quick shot of the juice: find people who will hold you accountable, inspire you, and push you toward your goals and the next level. In your business squad, this person might be a coach (they've been where you are)......a business bestie on a similar path (who shares your vision, values, and can give you honest feedback)......or perhaps they're way ahead of you on the path (offering advice as a part of a community or program). As you listen to the episode, I want you to ask yourself what you need help with — right now — so you can build the squad you need to succeed. In this episode of The Juicy CEO Podcast, you'll discover: That having a wellness squad is crucial to maintain your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing — everything you need to run your business wellWhat being in action does to the psyche and how it overcomes fear (you can't be stopped when you're moving)! In 1979 Andrew Nguyen's family escaped Vietnam on board a cargo ship named the Skyluck. Andrew was only 4 and can barely remember the trip that changed his life. So when he discovered that his mom, Tina Nguyen, had kept detailed journals of their escape tucked away in a shoebox in their hall closet, Andrew begged her to read them to him. This year... she agreed. The Skyluck Journals document a harrowing story aboard a ship that was never intended for human passengers, and one young woman's determination to save her family when nobody wanted to offer them safe harbour.
“Finding the right coach for you is no joke. It's important, it matters, take your time. Really feel it in your body: this is the person to take you to the next level.”— Monique BryanWith 5.8 million coaches operating right now in the US alone, there is a coach for every need: lifestyle, health, relationships, finance, spiritual... “I believe that stories are what actually make the change happen. It's what changes people's minds about what women can do.”—Stephania VaralliStorytelling is as old as history. It's how we connect, learn, and grow. But did you know that only a quarter of the stories in mainstream media focus on women's narratives? If we don't see ourselves reflected in our community, we don't feel like we belong. When women share real, authentic stories, our truth reminds us that we do belong — and inspires other women to believe in themselves and what they can achieve. But how do you tell your story? I'm joined on this episode of The Juicy CEO Podcast by Stephania Varalli, Co-CEO of Women of Influence (WOI), one of North America's largest organizations dedicated to gender equality and women's advancement in the workplace. Syncing her professional career with her passion, Stephania and her WOI team have built a community that is by, for, and about women — using storytelling to drive change.WOI importantly creates a platform for women to share their own stories in their own words — helping women to amplify and grow their voice beyond their own communities. In this episode, Stephania shares how to tell your story the right way — to connect, inspire, and advocate for real change in professional spaces and beyond. “There are enough podcasts out there. What are you bringing that's different?”—Monique BryanIt might seem like everyone has a podcast these days, but did you know that most people don't make it past seven episodes?! With everything that's involved, I can believe it! You may already know that I attempted to launch a podcast several times before starting this one.So, what did it take to get here? I would love to say that it was easy, but that would be a bald-faced lie!It has taken hours of hard work, strategy, marketing, tech, and a great team to get to this point. In this #Dirty30Live episode, I run down some of the key things you should know before you even get started. As an entrepreneur, you need to treat your podcast as a marketing tool that fits inside your business. Every aspect of your podcast — content, format, and guests — should be authentic and align to your marketing strategy. Why? Because it's an extension of your brand. You need to know why you're creating content, who it is for, how you will promote it, and which guests to choose. Be intentional. It all comes down to planning. Preparation and forward thinking will ensure that you consistently show up, that you align with your marketing strategy, and that your brand is protected. Colossians 3:17 calls us to do all things, in both word and deed, in the name of Lord Jesus. That means with all the different roles we play, they should be all lived under the Lordship of Jesus. Well join us for a discussion today on what that looks like, with Pastor's Stephen Klukas and Andrew Nguyen. As always, if you have any questions for comments feel free to write in to podcast@vcflongview.org.
Andrew Nguyen is one of those Jack of all Trades. He has a wrap sheet of working at Apple, Google, and NASA. We had a chat with Andrew Nguyen, who goes by the artist name ninjandru. A soon-to-be senior at Piedmont Hills High School, Andrew is an active photographer and musician. His debut single "same," which is also his most successful song to date, exists as a collaboration with fellow artist vivithot (Viviane Nguyen) that has garnered over 100,000 plays on Spotify. In this episode, ninjandru begins by introducing himself and his musical beginnings, talking about the various instruments he learned to play and previously making lo-fi hip hop. Then, he describes his musical process and shares the stories behind his previous music releases. Later, he explains his musical and artistic inspirations, how he balances music and schoolwork, the effects quarantine has had on him, and his experience running for ASB Historian at PHHS. He also reveals the equipment and software he uses to produce music, as well as his future plans of performing with a band and releasing an EP. If you're interested in how ninjandru comes up with his musical ideas and his tips for aspiring musicians, or if you just want to learn more about him, then this is the episode for you. *Note: this podcast is complemented by a YouTube video which can be found at https://youtu.be/xHrBNv2Q4NQ or on our YouTube channel, GGPP Studios. On the show, […]
In January, St. Louis’ regional transit agency considered taking on operation of the embattled Loop Trolley — and ultimately declined to do so. At this month’s meeting of the Bi-State Development board, a totally different project’s future will come before the agency: the two shipping-container-sized grocery stores located along MetroLink in north St. Louis County. The stores are operated by a nonprofit subcontractor, Link Market, which formed about two years ago. They were funded by a grant Bi-State was awarded from the Missouri Foundation for Health and meant to be a pilot project addressing the region’s food deserts. But this past summer, as reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Tony Messenger, Link Market founder Dr. Jeremy Goss learned Bi-State had concerns about their financial viability. After a meeting of various parties in St. Louis County Executive Sam Page’s office, the shipping-container markets got an extension from Bi-State. And as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Andrew Nguyen explains in this segment in conversation with Goss and host Sarah Fenske, Bi-State’s board should vote Feb. 21 on a proposal to donate the shipping containers to the Link Market.
No matter what you sell or how large your business is, developing an unforgettable brand for your business is one of the best ways to establish yourself as an industry competitor. And no one knows that better than our next guest, Andrew Nguyen. Andrew is the co-founder of the O Agency and the founder and creator of the Build Your Own Brand Conference based right here in Atlanta. He has also been featured in Forbes, the New York Times, and Mogul Mentality to name a few. In this segment, we discussed his journey as an entrepreneur, some best branding practices, and his wildly successful BYOB Conference.
Life has more than enough challenges to throw our way on the journey to whatever goals we may have, but one thing that hinders us the most still seems to be ourselves. Our comfort zones, ego, "lack of resources"... the list goes on. I sat with The O Agency and BYOB Retreat Co-Founder Andrew Nguyen (@BrandWithDrew) to discuss his journey to success. From building relationships to putting up 100K of his own money to fund the first BYOB Retreat and more. He's found extreme ways to leverage creativity, corporate and currency and the formula seems to be working just fine. Enjoy the Episode! On Ivy Day 2019, the Yale Admissions Office invited just under 2,200 students to join the incoming Class of 2023. Though the recent admissions scandal was a story of exceptional admissions cases in their own right, we were more interested in unique tales of adversity, struggle and triumph. We spoke to some of our current classmates about what it takes to get into Yale as an undocumented immigrant, a first-generation low-income student, one of the only students who hails from Alaska, a U.S. Army Ranger, and even someone who didn’t really go to middle school. (All without bribes.) This episode was co-produced and edited by Matt Udry and Christine Yang. Additional producers include Alejandro Ortega, Aaron Jenkins, Laura Palacio Londono and Tom Murray. Thank you to Andrew Nguyen, Laura Palacio Londono, Bairon Reyes-Luna, Aaron Jenkins, and Naomi M for telling their stories. Original music credits to Eric Krebs. This episode is the second half of a two part series about Yale Admissions. On episode 37 of the Montreal Marketeers podcast, we talk personal branding with Andrew Nguyen. Andrew’s story serves as a reminder that the American Dream is still alive and well. Born into an immigrant family, he has always been expected to achieve great things while having minimal access to resources. At age 17, he had a major disagreement with his parents and was left homeless. Instead of giving up, Andrew decided to take full control of his destiny so that he could reach his goal of being a successful businessman. At under 30, Andrew has already built a 7 figure agency called “The O Agency”. The agency helps athletes, celebrities, and entrepreneurs stand-out through personal branding. He also co-authored a book and is currently working on a new project called BYOBlive. Check out this week's episode to find out more about Andrew Nguyen and his entrepreneurial ventures!
