For example, she has initiated inclusive acting classes for individuals with a diagnosis of Down syndrome, written a children's book Inclusive Stages, created a podcast "Inclusive Stages: Behind the Curtain," and distributed sensory kits to Kentucky theaters to make them more accessible for those individuals with sensory processing disorders. Ultimately, Inclusive Stages strives to teach people to look for capabilities instead of disabilities and welcome all to not only the theatrical stage but also to the stage that is life! Mallory was awarded the 2023 Kentucky Farm Bureau Quality of Life Award for her work with Inclusive Stages. In her free time, Mallory enjoys singing, playing guitar, reading, working out, cheering on her Kentucky Wildcats, spending time with her beloved Goldendoodle Bella, watching a good 'whodunit' film with friends, attending her younger sister, McLaine's, sporting events, and traveling with her parents Todd and Caroline. During her year of service, Mallory will serve as the official spokesperson for Kentucky Proud through the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Mallory is especially excited about this opportunity due to her grandfather being a proud Kentucky farm owner in Edmonson County. Mallory plans to travel the state encouraging Kentuckians of all ages to support their fellow Kentuckians by purchasing agricultural products and services made, grown, and produced locally.Mallory hopes to be remembered as a Miss Kentucky who built intentional connections with Kentuckians, advocated for inclusion, led with a servant's heart, and empowered through education.

While their earlier shows continued their standup vaudeville act, they gradually transformed their format to create one of the earliest situation comedies.

But today's visual was disruptive in ways that made it impossible to engage any other topic, and it exposed how Dr Dave's lack of mercy might have inhibited his ministry among acne-infected teens.

As a young musician straight out of Texas, Radney Foster spent the lengthy drives in between tour stops reading the likes of John Steinbeck, Larry McMurtry, and Harper Lee. Over 30 years of artist cuts later, there is no question that he himself is an established storyteller. Whether it's navigating the ever-changing music industry or battling a sudden, terrifying illness – Foster definitely has a story to tell.In late Fall 2015, the legendary songwriter got the diagnosis every musician fears-- a severe case of pneumonia and laryngitis. However, for someone who's been producing songs for almost 40 years, the desire to write doesn't fade along with the voice. During a grueling six week period of vocal constraint, Foster's creative side emerged in the form of a short story inspired by the song, titled “Sycamore Creek,” and the idea for Foster's newest endeavor was born. For You To See The Stars is a project comprised of two parts – a book and a CD. The book is a collection of short stories published by Working Title Farm. Though the stories are fiction, they are informed by Foster's upbringing on the Mexican border in Del Rio, TX. The story that most closely resembles memoir, “Bridge Club,” is a humorous and poignant retelling of the song “Greatest Show on Earth,” a recollection of playing music with family and friends on the back porch on a Saturday night. While it's evident that Texas has always been an inspiration for his music, in For You To See The Stars, Foster explores various landscapes, both physical and emotional, from the story of a retired spy in New Orleans, to the tale of a Dallas lawyer wandering the Rocky Mountains in search of redemption, to a post apocalyptic parable of a world in endless war.The beauty of this CD/book combo lives within Foster's extensive imagery, which not only further expands the meaning behind Foster's songs, but gives the reader a look at the thought process behind his songwriting. “For me, the goal of writing is always to touch that one person so much that they wonder how I got a peek into their living room--how I understood exactly what they felt. More than just rhyming or having a pretty melody, I try to express a part of the human condition that can make someone want to laugh, cry, make love, or all of the above.”Although the literature can be enjoyed independently, each story is uniquely coupled with a song. The 10-track album, also titled For You To See The Stars, features nine new songs and a special re-recording of “Raining on Sunday,” the song Foster co-wrote with Darrell Brown, which became one of Keith Urban's top Billboard singles. The album was recorded at the historic Nashville studio Sound Emporium and was produced by award-winning Will Kimbrough, who also plays multiple instruments and sings on the record. For You To See The Stars is Radney Foster's eleventh album. Foster has written eight number one hit singles, including his own “Nobody Wins,” and “Crazy Over You” with duo Foster & Lloyd. His discography contains countless cuts by artists ranging anywhere from country (Keith Urban, The Dixie Chicks, Luke Bryan, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) to contemporary (Marc Broussard, Hootie & The Blowfish, Kenny Loggins, Los Lonely Boys). Although highly recognized and accomplished in the music world, Foster is a true renaissance man. In addition to For You To See The Stars being his first book, Foster recently starred in the world premiere of "Troubadour,” at Atlanta's Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre.  He also appears in the upcoming feature film, Beauty Mark.

Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing Laura Bell Bundy over Zoom video! Actress, singer, and Tony nominated Broadway star, Laura Bell Bundy just released her new single “American Girl”, with the video premiering February 12th, 2021. It will be the third single off of her upcoming album “Women of Tomorrow” coming out spring 2021. Women Of Tomorrow is encapsulating the experience of the modern woman today. These original songs cover issues like equal pay, breaking the glass ceiling, over-apologizing, the mental load of motherhood, pitting women against each other, holding women to unrealistic beauty standards, the obsession with social media, ownership over women's bodies, doing it all, and the relationship to men. “American Girl” powerfully addresses the hardships and standards of being a woman in America, lyrically and cinematically. The first single from the album “Get It Girl, You Go” featured Anika Nonie Rose & Shoshana Bean, the first single and the video, which premiered on People online, celebrated the centennial anniversary of women’s suffrage and showcased all the democratic female candidates who ran for national office in 2020 and includes cameos from celebrities such as Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Cecily Strong, Samantha Bee, Ingrid Michaelson, Mickey Guyton & various other stars of Broadway and TV.The second single was a stirring rendition of the Cyndi Lauper classic “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” premiered on Parade online. In honor of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Bundy released the harrowing video for her version, which depicts a woman living and triumphing through a DV situation to raise funds for victims.LBB has also started her own Podcast, named after the album, which powerfully and deeply dives into the issues each song on her album presents, examines the history of those matters and provides solutions for moving forwardAbout Laura Bell BundyLaura Bell Bundy (album’s conceiver, co-writer, co-producer) is a recording artist, songwriter, director, producer, actress and mother who gave birth naturally without drugs.Since debuting at age 9 at Radio City Music Hall, Laura Bell Bundy has originated the stage roles of Tina in Ruthless (Outer Critics/ Drama Desk Nominations), Amber in Broadway’s Hairspray, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical (Tony Nomination), played Glinda in Wicked and recently received an Ovation nomination for her role of Charity in Reprise 2.0’s ‘Sweet Charity.’ She’s starred and appeared in over 100 hundred episodes of Television including roles on Perfect Harmony, Good Behavior, American Gods, How I Met Your Mother, The Guest Book, Angie Tribeca, Idiotsitter, Hart of Dixie, Fuller House, Documentary Now, AJ & The Queen, and Anger Management, where she was not paid equally to male co-stars. She was nominated for CMT Breakout Video for Giddy On Up. Her Big Machine album “Another Piece Of Me” received rave reviews in 2015 with all four music videos written, directed, & produced by Bundy. Today on the Friends in Beauty Podcast we welcome Jaya Bolden. Jaya Bolden, is a young, vibrant serial-entrepreneur and mentor who is a self-motivated growing powerhouse in the Lifestyle and makeup industry. With a passion for makeup, instructing and all things beauty, Jaya Bolden possesses the skills, passion, and professionalism to make sure every face and life touched is done to perfection.  Growing-up entrepreneurship wasn’t a skill that was taught to her, fortunate enough she was involved in extracurricular activities such as leadership conferences through the Envision Career and Leadership Program. Through Envision, she realized she was innovative and that eventually sparked the launch of her career as a makeup artist and her business Make-up By Jaya at the age of 16. Later Make-up By Jaya transformed into Make-up by Jaya Studio when she underwent the painstaking process of becoming a studio owner at the age of 19.  A few of her notable clients consist of: BET as one of their youngest artists in 2015, the Bobbi Jones show, Joyful Noise with Tye Tribbett and Black Girls Rock both in 2016. She has also done makeup for backup singers and dancers for singers Monica, Jazmine Sullivan as well as Brandy. The mission of MakeUpByJaya Studio is to bring out the beauty in all and to make light enhancements and not a complete makeover. Due to her accomplishments and mission, many women have asked for countless tutorials and tips, thus birthing her next business, The Beauty and the Beat Brunch is the ultimate brunch and makeup class for those who want to learn to achieve a flawless makeup application and to find their own routine.  On October 17, 2017 she created Crowning Queens (CQ). A mentorship program that uplifts young girls and women, starting at the age of 16 and upwards. Through CQ Jaya ensures she emphasizes that there is no limit on hunger for knowledge and a desire to be inspired.  Whether it’s makeup, teaching, or mentoring, all businesses are an extension of Jaya and her efforts to inspire beauty and grace in girls and women alike. As Sir Thomas Overbury said, “beauty is only skin deep,” but with MakeUpByJaya Studio, The Beauty and the Beat Brunch and Crowning Queens, beauty is both internal and external.  In this episode we talked about: Jaya’s humble beginnings as a MUA - starting as a sophomore in High School How she opened and operated a makeup studio in Washington, DC while she was in college in Philly How she manages all of her businesses are a serial entrepreneur And, how she’s empowering young girls and women through her Crowning Queens Mentoring program Jaya also gives us some advice on choosing your team and shares her long-term goals and so much more. This episode is for you if you want to know what it takes to gracefully take your business to the next level and if you’ve been having challenges with managing your different business ventures. There’s little question Saint John’s social media handle of “BadAssBoz” is spot on, especially now as CMO at Endeavor. Her pinned tweet references a quote from Nietzsche about rising from the ashes, and in my recent interview with her as the keynote at the Moxie-hosted FutureX Live conference, it’s clear that theme is apropos to not just her own rise and rise, but to her determination to elevate the brands she represents and the people around her. Episode 36 of our MediaVillage podcast shares the live recording of our 45-minute conversation -- delving into how brands navigate the changes in how we communicate, to the use of AR and VR to engender trust. What should Disney do about their characters roaming Times Square, or Hallmark do about fan-created podcasts? Saint John discusses the Beauty Mark campaign from CVS, the true beauty of client Chrissy Teigen, the imperative of diversity and humanity in tech, and (spoiler alert) if she’ll run for office. (And for more of the humanity in tech you’ll also hear which avatar I’m crushing on these days....) Read more of the transcript on mediavillage.com, but please listen and share. He is a futures designer, a storyteller, a disruptor and a creator. He wrote an incredible book called IN TIMES OF TERROR, WAGE BEAUTY which is exactly what he does. He wages beauty in the midst of destruction. He sees the potential in failure. He makes magic and art out of nothing. And on this podcast he invites us to level up. To not just disrupt and push against, but to imagine better, to dream bolder. One of my favorite quotes from his book is “context is what enables us to remember that we have survived far worse than this present moment and we will grow something far better.”He says that when we get a taste of the “real” - of love beauty and belonging - then we can reject what they are offering us. We are able to discover creativity, which he defines as introducing invention into existence. Only then can we imagine better and plot towards the world that is beyond our wildest dreams. Diane Israel is what I would call a reluctant visionary. She is a former professional triathlete and world class runner. Today she's a psychotherapist and a professor at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. And along the way she created an award-winning film called Beauty Mark. You don’t get from one place to the next without quite a journey in between. She spent so many years conflicted about who she was and her role in this great wide world that she couldn't be herself or as she would say, she didn't know who she was. Eventually Diane found that she excelled at movement – she became a standout runner and later a triathlon legend in the early days of the sport - until her need to control her life ultimately almost destroyed her. After years of enduring an eating disorder and athletic addiction, her body just simply stopped. And then she had to confront herself – if she wanted to survive. This episode goes deep at times and focuses more on the process of how she got where she is today than the struggles of the past. In the end, through it all, Diane actually became a healer of others. Isn’t that interesting. But she first had to find peace and healing in herself which she fully admits is still happening every day that she spends on this planet. I also have some good news - my first official sponsor is on board - a revolutionary company in the life insurance space - Health IQ. I have no idea how many of you have figured out life insurance, but Tim and I have always held back partly because we know we’re really healthy but we’d be paying as much as people who don’t place an emphasis on health and fitness. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t until we had our daughter Wilder that we actually made a will and started thinking about our financial future. So I started looking around for life insurance that might actually take everything we do to stay healthy into consideration and found Health IQ. I went on their website, took their Health Quiz and an agent immediately called me. They literally looked up my race results for me in Athlinks (thankfully I did the Boulder Peak Tri last summer!) or you can upload Strava or Runkeeper or other app data so they can prove you are actually active when seeking quotes. What they do is use science and data to secure lower rates on life insurance for health conscious people including runners, cyclists, strength trainers, vegans etc – 56% of Health IQ customers save 4-33% on life insurance. Going through the process myself, it's been extremely convenient and we're excited to save a lot of money! To see if you quality, get your free quote today at healthiq.com/RTW or mention the code RTW when you talk to an agent. Please remember to share the code RTW so they know I sent you! Today we talk about: Weasel Words Addiction of all kinds Coping mechanisms: Why they stop working in our 40s How our greatest joy often brings us our greatest suffering How much our background impacts who we become Raising children to be healthy adults How does a tortured child eventually become a healer? Her film Beauty Mark - watch the trailer here - soon to be available on Amazon Prime! Wasted emotions: Are there any? How do we stop the self-judgment and blame Hands and Feet: Contact Diane to get on the list for upcoming classes This is an awesome, powerful episode. At the end of the day, her final nugget really brought us home: You count. You’re beautiful the way you are. You are loved. For more on Diane, to connect with her on any level, please reach out here. He has countless cuts by an array of different artists like Keith Urban, The Dixie Chicks, Luke Bryan, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hootie & The Blowfish, and Kenny Loggins to name a few. Then if that’s not enough he’s now a seasoned actor appearing in the “Troubadour” and the upcoming film, Beauty Mark. If you could summarize Radney in one word, I would have to say storyteller. We talk about his journey from Texas to Nashville, to his conversation with Willie Nelson, to landing his publishing deal, then the success of Foster & Lloyd. We get to hear some of the new music from For You To See The Stars, and we dive in to the inspirations of the book. Buy the book everywhere books are sold including Amazon, and stream/download the new record on iTunes and Spotify. Visit www.radneyfoster.com for everything Radney, and you can follow him on Instagram @radneyfoster. Thanks again to Fat Bottom Brewing for supplying the laughs in this one!

In Beauty Mark, Angie is a woman marked by the cruel twists of life. A single mother with a limited education and a long history of bad decisions, Angie struggles to find the right path for her son. Adding to this dilemma is her live-in mother,  a boorish woman with her own track record of irresponsibility. Upon learning that their home is being condemned, Angie sets off on a desperate mission to find a suitable place to live before her family is cast out into the street. When every corner leads to rejection, she fixates her sights on settling the debt with the one person she feels owes her: the man who sexually abused her as a child. Beauty Mark is an honest depiction of the toll sexual abuse can have on personal judgment. It delivers a protagonist whose plight might seem detestable to some, yet through the raw and unflinching performance of Auden Thornton as Angie, we witness a character whose pain and plight begins to resonate with each of us. Complemented by remarkable supporting performances from Catherine Curtin and Jeff Kober, Beauty Mark is a tragically beautiful tale of the damaged hearts left in the wake of abuse. For this exclusive interview, writer-director Harris Doran discusses both his journey to Hollywood, as well as the road to Beauty Mark. He elaborates on why the topic of sexual abuse and the need to craft a narrative that spoke a brutal truth was so important in the making of his film. And why Auden Thornton was the perfect choice to bring his powerful tale to light. A haunting story centered around an uncomfortable topic and filled with memorable performances, don’t miss our exclusive interview with Beauty Mark director, Harris Doran.
