This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! PART TWOAs a child, Christie Williams found herself drawn to stories of the unexplained, fueled by late-night television and the unsettling narration of Unsolved Mysteries, hosted by Robert Stack. What began as curiosity soon became a lifelong pursuit of answers about whether ghosts—and darker forces—could truly exist.Over time, Christie moved beyond investigation and into immersion, taking on the responsibility of owning a notoriously haunted house and operating an oddities museum filled with objects said to carry their own histories. One question loomed large: what happens when haunted objects are placed inside a building that's already active?Christie talks about her experiences navigating both the light and dark sides of the paranormal—what she's witnessed, what she's learned, and how living among the unexplained changed her understanding of the supernatural.#TheGraveTalks #HauntedObjects #ParanormalPodcast #OdditiesMuseum #HauntedHouses #GhostStories #UnsolvedMysteries #ParanormalInvestigationLove real ghost stories? What if I told you I recently ran a 7-day CSA Chicken + Pork Share promotion on my farm, using only email, a private Facebook group, and a simple promotion framework? It went REALLY well, exceeding my sales predictions. If you've ever thought about launching a monthly meat share — or already have one and want to sell it more consistently — this episode is your behind-the-scenes look at how I design, organize, and execute a high-performing farm promotion from scratch. I walk you through: How I structured the product How I worked with my partner farm How I decided pricing, timing, and cart-open strategy The promo email sequence I used, and how I came up with content topics The role of FAQs, social proof, urgency, and bonuses How I organized everything into a master Google Doc so I could use it next year And how I used ChatGPT to speed up writing This is a nuts-and-bolts, copy-the-framework episode. Listen here. Resources Mentioned In This Episode: What email provider do I use? I recommend Kit.com (formerly ConvertKit.com) -- it is easy to use, powerful, and getting better every year. It also integrates with most e-commerce providers and tools. Use my affiliate link! Episode 13: How to Create an Irresistible Bonus Offer - Want to get more ideas for bonuses to use in a promotion for CSA shares? Listen here. Want the actual promo materials I wrote for this promo? Inside Farm Marketing School, I've now uploaded the entire Chicken + Pork Share Promotion Google Doc, including: ✅ The exact emails I used ✅ The social media posts I used ✅ The daily timeline so you can see the positioning ✅ Links to the Canva images So if you'd rather not start from scratch… you can literally copy my doc's elements and adapt it for your farm. This is my fifth season working with them, and I keep coming back for a simple reason: it works. They offer wild sockeye salmon, halibut, black cod, shrimp, and smoked seafood — all sourced directly from independent fishermen out of Homer, Alaska. What makes this partnership such a win for farms is the model: I promote Citizen Salmon to my customers, they order directly from Citizen Salmon's website using a farm-specific code, Citizen Salmon ships frozen fish straight to them, and I earn a commission — without handling inventory, packing, or delivery. It's an aligned, ethical way to expand your product suite and serve your customers well. Over the last two decades, the average human attention span dropped from two and a half minutes to forty seconds. That reality is reshaping how collectors think, buy, and build. In this flagship episode of Stacking Slabs, Brett examines how shrinking attention impacts collecting decisions, long term satisfaction, and the ability to stay focused in a hobby that never stops moving. The episode explores shiny object syndrome, abandoned collecting lanes, and the constant pressure created by product drops, social feeds, auctions, and hobby content. It also outlines practical ways collectors can take control of their attention. Clarifying priorities. Filtering noise. Creating space to collect with intention. This episode is about protecting focus so a collection reflects personal values rather than momentary hype.Check out the awesome software that InfernoRed Technology can build for you.Get your free copy of Collecting For Keeps: Finding Meaning In A Hobby Built On HypeStart your 7 day free trial of Stacking Slabs Patreon Today[Distributed on Sunday] Sign up for the Stacking Slabs Weekly Rip Newsletter using this linkFollow Stacking Slabs: | Twitter | Instagram | Facebook | Tiktok ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Last summer, I got invited to be on TV. Exciting, right? Then they asked a simple follow-up question: "Can you send over your media kit?" And I froze. I didn't have one. I wasn't even totally sure what should be in one. Fast forward to this winter, as I start doing more speaking, partnerships, and visibility work for both my farm and My Digital Farmer -- I realized this was a gap I needed to close. So I invited someone back on the show who lives and breathes this stuff. On today's episode, I'm joined again by Erika Tebbens from Taste the Local Difference. If Erika sounds familiar, she was previously on the podcast in Episode 322, where we talked about collaborations as a powerful farm marketing strategy. This time, we're diving into something just as practical -- and often overlooked:
I used to be able to buy a box of any release and open it with my son. Not the case any more. So we are trying to find other ways to collect and have fun

This week on the podcast, I'm pulling back the curtain on something I've never shared publicly before… Inside Farm Marketing School, we've been doing a powerful three-month deep dive on rewriting your money story -- and today, I'm releasing one of those private "members-only" private podcasts here on the main feed. This is Episode 2 of that private series, and it's all about the energy of money -- how it flows, how it gets blocked, and why the emotional tone behind your money exchanges matters just as much as the dollars themselves. You'll hear stories from my own life, teaching rooted in two incredible books, and a practical framework for noticing where your money feels light, joyful, and aligned… and where it feels heavy, tight, or full of fear. John and Ryan return with a jam‑packed conversation that swings from tabletop quiet spells to the wild frontiers of modern gaming culture. They kick things off by digging into why Dungeons & Dragons has been unusually silent in 2025, exploring the slowdown in new book releases and what it might mean for longtime fans. From there, the discussion shifts to the trading‑card world, where the duo reacts to the surprising new policy requiring One Piece card game products to be opened upon purchase at local game stores. That leads into a deeper look at the ongoing scalping issues plaguing the One Piece TCG and how scarcity, hype, and opportunism are affecting the community. Collecting chaos doesn't stop there. John and Ryan take a closer look at the cost of Pokémon LEGO sets and what's driving their premium price tags. They wrap up with a breakdown of the GameStop digital game lawsuit. Capping off the episode for their ongoing theme for January—Agonizingly Long Tutorials Month—is a spotlight on Red Dead Redemption 2. The guys reflect on the game's famously slow, cinematic onboarding and how it sets the tone for one of the most immersive open‑world experiences ever made. 00:00 Intro 11:48 Why Dungeons and Dragons has been quite in 2025 in terms of new books 23:23 Ryan's Pokémon Emerald Legacy Update 27:26 Pokémon Nostalgia and Gaming Adventures 31:29 One piece card game now requiring to be opened upon purchase for local game stores 39:06 Scalping Issues in the One Piece TCG 45:01 The High Cost of Pokémon LEGO Sets 54:58 GameStop's Digital Game Lawsuit Find us on TheGameDeflators.com Twitter - www.twitter.com/GameDeflators Facebook - www.facebook.com/TheGameDeflators Instagram - www.instagram.com/thegamedeflators

What do you do when your customer just… stops paying attention? This week's episode was inspired by a walk on our farm -- and a stubborn dog who found a vole in the field and completely tuned me out. Calling louder didn't work. Waiting didn't work. What finally worked was walking back out to her, getting in her line of sight, and offering her the right treat -- something she actually wanted. That moment sparked a powerful realization about customers who go quiet (and what actually brings them back). If you've ever looked at your email list or customer list and thought, "Where did everyone go?" -- this episode is for you. Customers going cold doesn't mean they're unhappy. It usually means they're distracted, out of rhythm, or don't have a clear reason to buy right now. In this episode, I introduce the concept of win-back campaigns (one of the simplest, highest-ROI marketing systems you can build for your farm). We'll talk about: Why customers go quiet (and why it's not personal) What a win-back campaign actually is (and what it's not) Why win-backs are much easier than most farmers think How a single win-back campaign can become a reusable asset you run year after year This episode is a pared-down training -- just enough to help you see what's possible and why it's worth doing, without overwhelming you with tech or tactics. If you want the step by step for how to actually build this asset fast, I have an entire project inside of Farm Marketing School on Setting Up Your Win-Back Campaign, including: How to identify cold customers How to build your win back offer How to set up tags and automations in your email provider How to write the emails (with templates + AI prompts) How to turn win-backs into a repeatable, yearly system

John and Ryan return with a packed episode full of fresh pickups, tough gameplay impressions, and a look at the latest industry buzz. Ryan dives into his ongoing run through Returnal, breaking down the game's relentless roguelike loops and the thrill of surviving its bullet‑hell chaos. John follows up with his experience playing Stellar Blade, sharing thoughts on its combat, pacing, and whether it delivers on its stylish promise. The guys also tackle two big stories shaking up the gaming world. First, they discuss new data showing that the most‑played PlayStation and Xbox games of 2025 were virtually unchanged from 2024, with juggernauts like Fortnite, Roblox, GTA V, Minecraft, and Call of Duty continuing to dominate player time despite a wave of new releases. Then they dig into the heated debate surrounding the rumored PS6 price point, as speculation about a higher‑than‑expected launch cost has fans split and wondering what the next generation will look like. To wrap things up, it's time for this month's theme: Video Games With Agonizing Tutorials. The Inflation Deflation Challenge spotlights The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This re-post of a podcast from 2022 serves as a tribute to Glen Blackwood, whose recent passing is a tremendous loss for the upland community. Glen was a bird hunter, a fly anger, and a conservationist, but foremost a storyteller. It was a privilege to capture his voice here, and to share it.
In this special New Year's episode, I sit down with Jim Rugg and DJ to break down exactly where the VeeFriends comics universe is headed in 2026. I talk about my history as a storyteller — from the games I made up as a kid to how that foundation turned into VeeFriends. We get into a real conversation about the “starving artist” myth and why it's broken. Commercial success doesn't ruin creativity — it protects it. I share why the comic industry needs to stop gatekeeping, start onboarding new fans, and think bigger about long-term relevance. Hope you enjoy!
