We're going on a bit of a detective spree today, and what better way to kick things off than with a little chat about pipes? We all know how Sherlock loved his, and honestly, who can resist the allure of a finely crafted smoking instrument?First up, there's the iconic Briar Pipe. You've likely seen this one in the hands of wise old gentlemen – it's got that vintage charm, doesn't it? Then there's the artistic Meerschaum. It's not just a pipe but a piece of art. Oh, and how can we forget the rustic Corncob, famously loved by none other than Mark Twain? If you're channelling your inner Sherlock, then the Calabash is your go-to with its unique gourd shape. And for those long, thoughtful evening puffs, the Churchwarden, with its elongated stem, is just sublime.....Speaking of sublime, our Movie of the Week is none other than "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows". Guy Ritchie has truly outdone himself with this one. With Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law returning as our beloved Holmes-Watson duo, the stakes are high, and the suspense is palpable. Moriarty's dark schemes, some heart-pounding action, and that climactic chess game — pure cinematic gold! And, Dads, let's chat about that epic showdown at the Reichenbach Falls. It's one for the books! Now, for a blast from the past, who remembers "Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century"? It's a futuristic twist with our detective being resurrected, flying drones, a techy London, and – wait for it – a robotic Watson! If you're looking for some quality time with the kiddos, this animated series is just the ticket. It's a delightful reminder that Holmes' magic never fades, no matter the era.So, Dads, whether you're a budding detective, a pipe aficionado, or just here for the nostalgia, we've got a treat for you today. Put on your thinking caps, maybe light up a pipe, and let's dive into this mystery-filled episode of Bad Dads Film Review!

Extra special episode out now! For this year's holiday treat, Quizmaster Mack designed a whole game show for us to play! We play four different games, each one tied to our podcast in some way. We confront how often we veer off topic, test our knowledge of Florida Man, see if we can tell what's been subtly changed in a plot synopsis, and guess weird facts about properties we will probably never cover. Katy realizes she talks about the World's Fair a lot, Carrie got away with mispronunciation, Maddy is a dehydrated queen, and Mack airs some grievances. We also learn what is technically north of Florida, why paleontologists lick things, and how Mary-Kate and Ashley always travel. Listen to hear Mack being a clever (and tricksy) game-maker, who bet on the fact that we don't listen to each other well or retain information-and won! And after the games, we have a familiar Casemas treat! Enjoy, and happy holidays! . . . . . Show Notes: The music used within the games is all by Kevin MacLeod. Mack immediately forgot the last game was double points and only counted single ones. The outcome is the same either way, but the true point count is Maddy with 16, Carrie with 26, and Katy with 30.

Athletes get many kudos in life. The spotlight is on them from an early age. Some excel through high school. Some go on to star in college. A few make it to the pros. But, there are many facets to being an athlete. A Texas newspaper, The Victoria Advocate (www.victoriaadvocate.com), wanted to highlight student athletes, and for the 2018-2019 school year created an event and program called the Varsity Cup. The city of Victoria is located on the coastal plains of Texas about 50 mi from the Gulf of Mexico and is a two-hour drive from Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, and therefore known as the Crossroads area of Texas. The Varsity Cup was designed to honor the best student athletes in the Crossroads. These kids excel not only at sports but also must maintain a 3.0 GPA and excel in volunteerism and extracurricular activities. The initial crop of nominees were outstanding student athletes – smart, bright, and eager to serve their communities. They helped rebuild their communities after Hurricane Harvey, fed the homeless, counseled youth groups, mentored elementary students, served Thanksgiving meals, worked at women's crisis centers and helped the elderly. They were active in their churches and did many other non-athletic school activities, such as National Honor Society and 4-H. Their list of accomplishments was mind-boggling. For the first Varsity Cup, about 600 students and parents attended the awards event. The principal sponsor of the Varsity Cup is American Shield Roofing and Construction (https://americanshieldroofing.com/) and on this episode of SwimTalk A2B, we interview Jon Lamson, VP of Sales for American Home Shield. It's all the same famous Kentucky mashbill spirit, but a portion of it was finished in ex-wine barrels and another portion was finished in ex-sherry barrels, after which it was all blended together with some good ol' Japanese know-how. Plus, we were lucky enough to score an interview with Senior Brand Ambassador, Adam Harris, and things got downright belligerent! Lol we're kidding. All fandoms have this problem, but jeez people, just because someone likes a thing you don’t like doesn’t mean that person is WRONG. What can make or break a cast album. Memories of cute drag queens from back in the day. Has Amelia ever seen Firefly? The answer kicks off a discussion about stuff we don’t watch, and reasons why Johnny Depp is gross and stupid. And this week in woo, 5G is gonna kill us all. Apparently. And Pitney cooks up a scheme to get rich off of these woo people. And if you want to understand the name of this episode, you need to listen to the end. (And, as always, wait for the Marvel-style bonus scene after the credits!) Death, Texas, and Tacos with the Klinge Brothers and Everyday Paranormal

In Part 1, the Klinge Brothers and Steve Harris discuss the past couple of years and how they were intimately involved in developing a TV show with a major network based on the success of a new, but familiar show that failed miserably due to the low ratings. They explain in painful but comical detail all the inner workings of a television development deal and how a sure thing is never a sure thing in network TV.In Part 2, the Klinge Brothers and Steve Harris give paranormal TV a second chance and watch the premiere of a new show.. Apparently they were one of the only ones in the country who did as this show once again disappoints with bad acting, poor investigation style, and created drama. The hilarity ensues as the DTT crew give their version of a play by play of this television show episode. As a note, Jason Worden was not able to join on this show.Musical Credit for the episode are as follows:Corncob by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3554-corncobLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Aces High by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3337-aces-highLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Big Rock by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3436-big-rockLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Hitman by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3880-hitmanLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Protofunk by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4247-protofunkLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/The Descent by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4490-the-descentLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Whiskey on the Mississippi by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4624-whiskey-on-the-mississippiLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Music from https://filmmusic.io "Happy Summertime" by Sascha Ende (https://www.sascha-ende.de) "Imagefilm 017" by Sascha Ende (https://www.sascha-ende.de) "March of the Spoons" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Corncob" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Daily Beetle" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Banjos, Unite!" by Alexander Nakarada (https://www.serpentsoundstudios.com/) "Bumbly March" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Bama Country" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "DarxieLand" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Vivacity" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "Hillbilly Swing" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) "1,2,3 Dance With Me" by Sascha Ende (https://www.sascha-ende.de) License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)

Portland, Oregon. Autodesk Fusion 360 Academy Day 2. Sans the glitz, glam, and exuberance of Autodesk University Las Vegas, the close-nit vibe and Fusion focused course material makes for an amazing time. Saunders shares an AWESOME Fusion 360 hack from Rob Lockwood's 5-Axis Fixturing Course. IT'S A SMALL WORLD During the event, Saunders has dinner with Don Grant from Helical/HarveyTool, the same person Grimsmo met at Autodesk Toronto in July. Turns out, Don had a sweet solution for Grimsmo's 3/32 problem! TOOL MORTALITY...or IMMORTALITY (may be an exaggeration but...just go with it) During critical knife handle milling, 3/32 4-flute endmills were dying within 1 pallet, which means having to re-work each pallet (PAINFUL) BUT---the good news is the Helical 5-flute endmill coated for titanium has lasted through 17 PALLETS AND IS STILL GOING STRONG! NOT COOL, BRUH. AC gets repaired only to break down again two days later. Although the Nak LOVES the heat and is churning out uber-consistent parts...the lapping machine begs to differ! How's the TORNOS? An expensive coding mistake serves as reminder to quadruple check code AND make sure the post is smooth, refined, and operating without requiring manual manipulation. Home Sweet Home Grimsmo and FAM are moving into their first home! SHADOW PEOPLE The desire to see a day in the life of other shop owners has remained strong for Saunders, especially if he could do it in stealth mode. Everyone tends to change behavior slightly in the presence of company or a camera. Corncob, Triangles, & Toblerones The new tumbler that emerged from a trade deal has dividers. Erik tosses his SAGA into the corncob section to see how it holds up.
