In this episode of The Jess Larsen Show on Innovation & Leadership, Jess sits down with Sam Bremner for a fascinating conversation on licensing, private equity, brand psychology, and the hidden business model behind some of the world's most powerful intellectual property. Sam breaks down why licensing should not be treated as a side project or simple marketing play, but as a serious engine for low-capital, high-margin growth. From Harry Potter and Marvel to Care Bears, Starbucks, branded real estate, and luxury experiences, Sam explains how the smartest companies turn intellectual property, nostalgia, identity, and emotional connection into billion-dollar businesses. Jess and Sam also explore the rise of branded real estate, why consumers pay premiums for authenticity and experience, and how companies can use licensing to expand without taking on all the risk of manufacturing, inventory, shipping, or retail execution. Sam shares how Care Bears continues to connect with audiences through love, caring, sharing, nostalgia, collaborations, and global licensing partnerships. The conversation also goes deeper into leadership, ownership, private equity, and why Sam believes the best investors and operators understand both numbers and human behavior. He explains why people are predictable, why brands operate like relationships, and why the future belongs to leaders who can recognize patterns, move fast, and connect capital with emotion. This episode is a sharp look at how licensing really works, why feelings drive purchasing decisions, and how founders, investors, and brand builders can monetize identity, authenticity, and culture in ways most businesses completely overlook. In this powerful episode, Jed Doherty welcomes Jackie Baker, author of Messy Mourning: Hope for Mothers Grieving the Loss of a Child to Suicide. Jackie shares the heartbreaking story of her firstborn, Sebastian—a bright, curious, book-loving boy who grew up in a home where reading, faith, and family were central. She recalls sweet memories, from anatomy books at home to anxiously awaiting new Harry Potter releases, painting a vivid picture of a joyful, inquisitive child. As Sebastian entered high school, Jackie and her family began to notice serious changes: depression, anxiety, poor choices, and eventually substance use. Despite treatment, psychiatric care, and rehab, Sebastian struggled with bipolar disorder, experiencing manic and depressive phases. After an earlier attempt, he ultimately died by suicide, leaving Jackie, her husband, and daughter to navigate overwhelming grief, guilt, and unanswered questions. Jackie and Jed discuss the unique stigma surrounding suicide loss, especially in faith communities, contrasting it with how people respond to deaths from accidents or illness. Jackie speaks honestly about unhelpful comments, lingering shame, and the harmful notion that suicide is simply "selfish," reframing it instead as the tragic end of profound suffering and illness—much like an advanced cancer. Jackie explains how her Christian faith, scripture, and a loving church community became her anchor, and she offers practical ways to support grieving families: specific help instead of "let me know," showing up, avoiding platitudes, and being willing to listen and remember the child. Later in the episode, Jed talks with Paul Curley, author of Camp Counseling Mastery, who shares how playful, intentional camp activities can build children's language, confidence, and social skills, especially through movement, fun, and "accidental learning."

Often credited as the real-life inspiration for the Oscar-winning film Jerry Maguire, Leigh has spent decades helping some of the world's greatest athletes turn talent into enduring brands, careers, and legacies. The conversation explores what it takes to build a personal brand, negotiate with confidence, and turn success into meaningful impact. Leigh also discusses securing more than $4 billion for his clients and directing over $750 million to charitable causes around the world, offering a powerful perspective on how achievement can be used to create opportunities far beyond the individual. Whether you're an athlete, entrepreneur, leader, parent, or simply someone looking to maximize your potential, this episode offers an inspiring look at what it means to build a legacy and use success to make a difference. Learn More About MDEnvoy: From speaking at conferences to publishing research to weighing in on public health conversations, many physicians put in hard work to be visible beyond the doctor's office. Yet most lack the resources to turn that visibility into brand deals, paid speaking engagements, or long-term career positioning outside traditional medicine. Why should doctors, much like athletes or influencers, be thinking about monetizing their professional brand, and what does it look like when they can capitalize on their visibility? We begin Episode 24 with one of those hypothetical questions that immediately exposes exactly how much faith you have in the people around you:Someone offers you $50 million cash, tax-free. All you have to do is call someone. If they don't answer, you get the money.Who are you calling? For the Rizz Show crew, the answer becomes obvious very quickly: King Scott. The man apparently treats incoming phone calls like suggestions.Rizz is already mentally spending his $50 million because King Scott never answers. Moon is apparently another safe bet, and the conversation quickly turns into an intervention about why Scott's phone is always on Do Not Disturb—especially with a very pregnant wife at home.Probably time to turn the ringer on, buddy. If not, apparently the rest of The Rizzuto Show is prepared to raise the child. It takes a village, and unfortunately this is the village available. Then it's time for the Rizz Quiz, where contestants get 45 seconds to answer as many supposedly simple questions as possible. One wrong answer immediately stops the clock. We're talking third-to-fifth-grade territory: basic math, colors, geography, animals, planets and other information most adults confidently assume is still stored somewhere inside their brains. That confidence does not survive this comedy show.Janelle starts strong with pink, 30, LEGO and 366 days in a leap year before the phrase “natural satellite” completely derails the operation. The answer was the moon. Instead, we get a curse word and an early exit.Chris comes in ready to work—and apparently ready to work with the loudest calculator ever manufactured. He gets through Harry Potter, pentagons, Florida, multiplication, McDonald's and subtraction while everybody tries to figure out whether he's playing the Rizz Quiz or doing taxes on a Texas Instruments from 1987.Then Craig absolutely cooks.Milk. Spider legs. Mars. Division. Elephants. Inches. Gravity. Multiplication. Hawaii. Addition. Helium. The man puts up 11 correct answers, which in this game basically makes him Ken Jennings.Bill gets one chance to dethrone him.First question: What animal is known as man's best friend?Dog.Second question: What is 60 divided by 6?Zero.And that's it.Craig wins Blues home-opener tickets while Bill presumably begins a long and painful reconciliation with the number 10.Round two begins with Brittany taking on a piano, decades, Antarctica and basic multiplication. Eight times four?36.Nope.The crew also realizes some questions have returned from the previous day, giving Rizz a chance to see whether anybody actually learned anything from Simpleton Trivia. Spoiler: education remains a work in progress. Then Columbia Jeff steps up and cruises through colors, subtraction, human anatomy, triangles, Mario, multiplication and geography. How many nickels make one dollar?50.Suddenly Rizz feels much better about his own previous nickel-related failure. This isn't just trivia anymore. This is Rizz redemption.Another Jeff enters the arena and successfully handles penguins, division and Canada before 18 plus 22 becomes…50?Math claims another victim. Finally Ethan gets the last shot. He works through stop signs, Washington, D.C., division, dolphins and rainbow colors before getting tangled up in a question about the force behind ocean tides. And that's the Rizz Quiz experience in a nutshell: everything seems insultingly easy until the music starts, a timer is running and suddenly you're staring into the abyss wondering whether 18 plus 22 has always been 50.This comedy show proves once again that basic math becomes advanced calculus when someone puts you on the radio. The Rizz Quiz isn't difficult.Your brain is just a coward.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Peanut Butter & Biscuits continues down the recap road breaking down Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 4: “Greyhounds' Day Off”Despite a run of success to start the season, all things are not clicking for the Lady Greyhounds as cliques have started to form based on positions and they are threatening to tear the team apart. The coaches have to come up with a way to break up the cliques to unlock the team's true potential. Meanwhile, Roy and Keeley arrive at an ultimatum point as Keeley wants Roy to go on 10 dates to make sure he's ready to get back together: with Higgins thrown in the middle for some reason. And Tracy Ullman has entered the chat as a badass female investor that Keeley is in love with but Rebecca might feel threatened by. This episode feels like a wonderful throw-back to Two Aces in Season 1 as we get the team finally accepting each other and the Lasso Way. We get a deepening of Keeley and Rebecca's friendship and Kee-OY is finally nearing relaunch, though in the most crazy way possible. How does Ted not know Harry Potter? How many Rachel Carson quotes does Beard know? Is Ferris Bueller the villain? AND ARE WORMS JUST ALL TAIL?!?! Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Marvel left D23 with a full X-Men cast, a Doomsday sizzle reel, and a VisionQuest trailer, but not one new Disney+ series. In the August 20 edition of What I'm Hearing, Puck's Julia Alexander wrote that multiple live-action Marvel series are quietly in development with announcements expected soon, which cuts directly against the last few weeks of reporting that had Marvel retreating from live-action TV entirely after VisionQuest lands October 14. Worth stressing that this is a single paywalled item with no titles, no dates, and no talent attached, and Variety, Deadline, and THR have all left it alone while the aggregators and fan sites ran wild with it, loudly, with everything from a Heroes for Hire spinoff to a Defenders reunion getting floated ahead of Marvel Television's New York Comic Con panel on October 8. While Marvel's TV plans stay stuck in rumor, DC just made one official. The Jimmy Olsen project we've been tracking for the better part of a year finally has a title, and it's The People v. Gorilla Grodd, now an eight-episode straight-to-series order at HBO Max. Jimmy Tatro is officially Grodd after months of being merely attached in reports, but the bigger get is how much of the Daily Planet came along, with Skyler Gisondo, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, and Wendell Pierce all reprising from Superman for a “true” crime docuseries reinvestigating Grodd's murder conviction. To close out our all-TV episode, here's the one DC show that actually made it to air, and it's doing numbers. Per Deadline, Lanterns pulled 9.3 million global viewers in its first three days across HBO and HBO Max, 6.6 million of them stateside, making it the biggest DC Studios premiere in HBO Max history and a top five series debut on the platform overall. That's a stronger opening than The Penguin and IT: Welcome to Derry, and the premiere has held the number one spot on HBO Max's daily top ten every day since Sunday, with Chris Mundy already sketching season two despite no official renewal yet. Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart in season 2 of HBO's Harry Potter series. Harington replaces Nicholas Hoult, who was originally cast in the role but left over scheduling issues.Spider-Man: Brand New Day continued its dominant run at the global box office and currently stands at $2.2 billion worldwide. The Odyssey opened in a few more territories and sits at $1.44 billion in its sixth weekend, while newcomer Insidious: Out of the Further opened to $60.3 million worldwide. In an interview at the For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention in London, Hayley Atwell told attendees that she was frustrated by Captain Carter's storyline in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saying “If I'm really like brutally honest, I was so disappointed with how they positioned her and what happened to her in that scene. It's so small, and she gets frisbeed to death. I tried on set to kind of go, ‘Can I just add? Can I just suggest?' And they were like, ‘Sure, but no.'”FX has ordered Legends, a meta-thriller limited series spinoff of Sons of Anarchy that reunites the majority of the original cast, including Charlie Hunnam, only this time playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The logline has the cast reuniting at a fan convention after more than a decade, where the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood faces a real-world threat more dangerous than anything from the show.NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal in an interview with EW revealed that he attempted to get cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a role but was told no. He said “I wanted to be in the ‘Avengers' and they were like, ‘Shaq, we fuckin' love you and we'd love to put you in, but if your face pops up on screen people are going to go, ‘Hey, that's Shaq!' He said it truthfully, and I was like, alright… I guess my face is too bigtime.”
Nikki Glaser kicks off the show with a birthday message for Rizz, which is probably the classiest thing that happens for the next 43 minutes. Because immediately after that, this comedy podcast gets back to the story everybody has questions about: the San Francisco 49ers owner getting busted in an alleged prostitution sting at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio.At 9:30 in the morning. On a Sunday. The crew tries to reverse-engineer exactly how somebody with hundreds of millions of dollars winds up in this situation. Was this the final stop of an all-night bender? Did he wake up Sunday morning ready to make terrible choices? How fast does an online prostitution appointment work? Apparently it's like checking into urgent care, except your insurance company has significantly more questions. That leads to an even more important investigation: how does a police department decide who goes undercover as the prostitute? Is getting picked flattering? Is not getting picked insulting? Somehow Miss Congeniality, ugly-character casting, Marla Hooch, Home Alone, Cry-Baby, Jonah Hill, Rebel Wilson and Johnny Depp all get dragged into the conversation. Then it's time to discuss the upcoming iPhone and whether spending around $1,200 on another rectangle that looks suspiciously like your current rectangle is still exciting. The show heads Back in the Day for anniversaries involving The Wizard of Oz, Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run, Boston's legendary debut album, Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah and more. Then Crap on Celebrities brings the pop-culture buffet nobody asked us to curate.ZZ Top plays its first show following the death of drummer Frank Beard, the crew attempts to demonstrate its vast knowledge of Quando Rondo, Ella Langley continues her monster chart run with “Choosing Texas,” and Miranda Lambert enters the conversation thanks to a songwriting story involving a kangaroo. Because sure. There's also a Wendy Williams documentary on the way, which naturally leads to revisiting her infamous Statue of Liberty fainting incident and several other moments from daytime television history. We get TV cancellations, Harry Potter casting talk, massive movie box-office numbers, and news that Paramount is developing a sequel to How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The Terminator 2 cast reunion also gets reviewed with all the tact and restraint you've come to expect from this comedy podcast. Edward Furlong gets some love, everybody realizes he was only 13 while filming the movie, and Rafe delivers the completely unnecessary observation that the reunion photo looks like “the future they were trying to prevent.”Then we meet celebrities who somehow function without smartphones. Christopher Walken doesn't have a cell phone or use email. Christopher Nolan prefers a landline. Elton John goes without a phone. Michael Cera uses an actual camera. Meanwhile, most of us get nervous if our battery drops below 30%.Birthdays follow, complete with Alexander Skarsgård, Jodi Messina, Claudia Schiffer, Tim Burton, Rob Halford, Gene Simmons, Tom Skerritt and a detour into the days when watching a really long movie required two VHS tapes. Children, ask your grandparents. And then Rafe's arm enters the chat. After roughly 30 weeks of allergy shots because he is apparently allergic to the entire planet, Rafe reveals that his weekly appointment came with a new threat: The Smelly Waiting Room Guy.This man's body odor was so aggressive that Rafe abandoned the waiting room and sat in the hallway despite being required to stick around after his shots. What follows is a full workplace-level investigation into human stink etiquette. When are you obligated to tell someone they smell? How does a manager have that conversation? Do you blame their shoes first? Can coworkers become “smell blind” to one another? What happens when you put perfume on top of funk and accidentally create an entirely new biological weapon? This comedy podcast finally reaches the conclusion society has apparently been afraid to admit: sometimes somebody just needs to tell you that you stink. No heroes. No lessons. Just onions.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we reflect on our just finished season four of Tea Leaves, our version of the Harry Potter TV show. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 2:16 Voldemort is really scary. With the people we've seen working on this show, it really isn't going to be a strictly kids show. There is going to be a darker, more mature air about the characters and that will translate to a more intense Voldemort.· 10:47 Dark magic and Amos Diggory. We first see Amos and slightly annoying and at odds with Harry, but that is driven out of our minds at the quidditch world cup. After Harry brings Cedric's body back from the graveyard, we realize that Amos was never at odds with Harry and that there are bigger fish to fry.· 16:42 Dumbledore and Harry don't have as close a relationship. They are in a transition year between the first three and last three seasons, though we'll have to get into season five to know about this I think.· 22:35 Harry feeling more connected with his past.· 26:04 Looking forward. There are a few magical threads getting woven together. Magic is clearly getting more advanced and taking on a deeper meaning, and these new developments and conflicts surrounding Voldemort will lend itself to a more dynamic and dangerous magical ecosystem. Book Club: Darksaber. John and Matt have re-read the 1995 Star Wars Expanded Universe (Now “Legends”) novel “Darksaber,” and have a fresh review on the work through the lens of hindsight and fan nostalgia. They ask:- Would this hold up for adaptation in the modern era, like Thrawn?- Were creators too obsessed with “Death Star Tech” back then, too?- Are we too nostalgic about the old EU?- Would there be anything here for non-Star Wars fans to enjoy?Let these Jedi Masters show how works like Darksaber pointed the way to a successful future for Star Wars publishing…and whether that guidance is needed again.HostJohn Mills and Matthew RushingIf you're looking for the best Star Wars podcast to hear spirited discussions that embrace the fun of the Galaxy Far, Far Away with none of the fandom baggage, you found it! On today's episode of The Run Through, Chloe Malle talked with her longtime friend, former Vogue colleague, and Global Editorial Director of Vanity Fair Mark Guiducci just days before the launch of his September cover featuring Marc Jacobs. “I think in some ways [Marc] is the greatest American fashion designer.” Guiducci said. “And if Marc Jacobs has nine lives, he's maybe on his seventh.” The cover story, written by José Criales-Unzueta, chronicles this transitional moment for Marc Jacobs whose namesake brand was sold by LVMH to a joint venture between brand management company WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group. “This new chapter of Marc's professional life is something different than going public and having umpteen thousands of stores around the world...and yet Marc is his own version of success,” Guiducci said. This is Guiducci's first September issue in his role. Other stories from the style issue include an exhaustive best dressed list, a Les Lalanne feature, and the profile of fashions' most well-known purveyor of good gossip. But the conversation between decades-long friends turned new guards of some of Condé Nast's most iconic magazines naturally expanded beyond the current issue. “Sometimes divorcing your own feelings from yourself from how people see you is actually really healthy.” Guiducci said. From big stories like the Alex Cooper Unwell investigation to the Olivia Nuzzi fiasco, the two candidly discussed their individual roles and the state of the celebrity cover. “There's a real arm's length distance to what you're getting now,” Chloe said. “And it's very difficult, because it means that if you are upholding journalistic standards like many Condé brands try to, you need to then be creative.” But of course, it wouldn't be a true reunion without some lighthearted reminiscing about the old days of Vogue. Sitting in the podcast studio no larger than their shared office nearly fifteen years ago, the two cackled over wellness routines, Chloe's Harry Potter discovery, and after-hours dinner plans. “I also don't cook, famously,” Guiducci said. “You've seen my kitchen. My kitchen is one-fourth the size of this room.” “That's true,” Chloe said. “One could still cook in it. [both laugh]” Also on the podcast, Vogue's Senior Lifestyle & Weddings Editor Liam Hess joined to discuss how this week's biggest weddings (Ronaldo! Jordyn Woods! Tallulah Willis!) came to be. Plus, we close out our Dogue days of summer with the final covers! The Run-Through with Vogue is your go-to podcast where fashion meets culture. Hosted by Chloe Malle, Head of Editorial Content, Vogue U.S.; Chioma Nnadi, Head of British Vogue; and Nicole Phelps, Director of Vogue Runway, each episode features the latest fashion news and exclusive designer and celebrity interviews. What if the key to winning a negotiation isn't being the loudest person in the room—but knowing when to listen, when to pause, and how to build trust? On this episode of the Super U Podcast, Erik Qualman sits down with attorney, entrepreneur, talent executive, professor, and veteran dealmaker Ken Sterling, author of Tilt the Room. Ken shares the strategies he's developed across law, business, technology, entertainment, and high-stakes dealmaking to help people influence outcomes without becoming aggressive or burning bridges. Ken breaks down his Tilt the Room framework—trust, influence, leverage, and timing—and explains why successful negotiation is less about overpowering the other side and more about understanding people, preparing for the room, and creating relationships that last beyond a single deal. The conversation explores how to: • Build trust and rapport before you ever need leverage • Read the room and understand the people sitting across the table • Prepare thoroughly while staying flexible in the moment • Use silence and the "power of the pause" to your advantage • Stay calm under pressure instead of resorting to bullying • Avoid overplaying your hand when you have leverage • Give difficult feedback without destroying trust • Stay focused and fully present during high-stakes conversations • Approach negotiation as a long-term relationship rather than a one-time transaction Ken also shares his memorable philosophy: "Never call someone's baby ugly." In negotiation and leadership, ideas can feel deeply personal—and dismissing someone's idea can damage the trust and influence you've worked hard to build. From billion-dollar dealmaking principles to everyday negotiations at work and home, this episode is a masterclass in how to tilt the room without tipping the scales too far. Our special guest this week is Johnny Flynn, who stars in & Sons—A dysfunctional family drama with a twist. His character Richard is one of three long suffering sons to Billy Nighy's A.N. Dyer, a mega-successful novelist turned alcoholic recluse and personal disaster zone. Johnny chats to Simon about the movie, its unusual filmmaking process, and working alongside Nighy, Imelda Staunton, George McKay and Noah Jupe as part of its all-star ensemble cast. Plus we hear a little about his upcoming performances as Paul Simon in South-African-set drama The Road Home, as a beleaguered sheriff in western A Prayer For The Dying, as Dostoevsky in The Idiots, and as Lucuis Malfoy (i.e. Jason Isaacs) in Harry Potter. I do wish someone would give this lad a bit of work, he must be desperate for something to get his teeth into… Mark reviews & Sons, as well as two more of the week's most exciting titles. First up, Coyote vs Acme, a live action animation hybrid that sees Looney Tunes' murderous canine Wile E. Coyote return to the screen in a meta legal drama with the suppliers of his ever-malfunctioning gadgets. Plus, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (one film not two), a meta-slasher starring Gillian Anderson in which a film director becomes obsessed with casting her ‘final girl' in a classic horror sequel. The most Mark film evz? We'll find out. All that plus the Laughter Lift, the return of Simon after Sanjeev's super subbing last week, and of course your witty, erudite and delightful correspondence. Meet the brains behind "Pizza Movie," which hit Hulu a few months ago and became something of an instant cult classic. Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher joined (or jointed) forces as BriTANicK while still in college and have been creating distinctively stoner-friendly comedy together ever since. From sharing their earliest herbal experiences at NYU, to working on Pizza Movie together for nearly a decade, in our conversation we get into the many high and lows of their shared journey as improvisers, comedians, filmmakers and best buds. All of which culminated in a hilarious and groundbreaking movie starring Gaten Matarazzo (you know, the curly haired guy from Stranger Things), Daniel Radcliff (the kid in the round glasses in the Harry Potter films), and the always incredible Sarah Sherman from Saturday Night Live. No spoilers, but Pizza Movie is basically an epic tale on par with the Odyssey about two college friends who accidentally ingest an experimental psychedelic and then set off on the adventure of a lifetime — trying to retrieve a pizza delivery sent to their dorm. Sideshow Bob returns once again in what may be his best appearance since the "golden era". We're heading outside the Disney bubble for a full Universal Orlando trip report! On this episode, we're recapping our recent stay and everything we experienced across Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida, including 18 attractions, plenty of snacks, some seriously wet water rides, and one of the biggest questions we had going into the trip: just how valuable is Universal Express Pass? We worked our way through nine attractions at each park, from The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Jurassic World VelociCoaster to Revenge of the Mummy, E.T. Adventure, MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack, and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. Along the way, we tracked the posted standby wait for every attraction and compared it with how long we actually waited using Express. And the results were pretty eye-opening. We also talk about our stay at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, transportation, park entry, and some of the food and snacks we tried along the way, including Butterbeer, a Honeydukes pumpkin pastry, and the wonderfully strange Pizza Dog. Then we wrap everything up by looking at the actual cost of Unlimited Express during our visit and answering if would we pay for it separately? Does staying at a Signature Universal resort where Express is included completely change the value equation? And beyond simply saving time, did Express make the entire Universal experience better?
Happy Tuesday, Christmas Fanatics! This week, the elves are heading back to Dunder Mifflin for a little Christmas déjà vu! We know we've already talked about The Office's Christmas episodes, but now we're diving into the extended editions, and we think you know these elves aren't complaining about talking the Office. Anthony, Julia, and Thom kick things off with "Christmas Party", the Season 2 classic featuring Michael's disastrous Secret Santa, an iPod, a teapot, Yankee Swap (or Dirty Santa, or whatever you call it where you live), and one very memorable Christmas card. Then it's off to "Moroccan Christmas," where Phyllis takes control of the Party Planning Committee, Meredith catches fire, Dwight sells Princess Unicorn dolls, and Angela's carefully guarded secret threatens to become very public knowledge. But this time, we're not just talking about the episodes we already know and love. We're digging into the extended and deleted scenes, the little character moments that got left on the cutting-room floor, and all the extra bits that somehow make these episodes feel even more like Christmas. Also discussed this episode: pumpkin spice season is upon us; Universal Passholder Night; Harry Potter and the upcoming Gilderoy Lockhart casting; Ted Lasso; Spider-Man; the increasingly bizarre world of twisted childhood movies; Dungeon Crawler Carl spoilers; Spirit Halloween; Ebenezer and Violent Night 2 trailers; the return of Ghosts; British Christmas specials; the history of Benihana; Danny DeVito/Jimothy; The X-Files; Steve Carell aging like fine wine; and our ongoing inability to stay on topic for more than approximately twelve seconds. So grab your Christmas sweater, pour yourself something festive, and settle in for another trip to Scranton with your favorite misfit toys. And yes... Belschnickel is coming. As always, thanks for listening, y'all! ❤️
Of Monsters and Mushrooms, Ch. 17 (book 1 NEW) ep. 837 Like the Voice of God NOTE: This is a rewrite of book 1. Originally, 'Of Monsters and Mushrooms' was supposed to be a multi-part short story that transformed halfway through into a novel. This left the plot (and the voice acting, to be honest) lacking. We decided to go back and completely rewrite book one to fix any plot holes and bring the quality in line with the rest of the series. Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- Hi there! My name is Chris Herron and I'm an audiobook narrator. In 2015, I suffered from poor Type 1 diabetes control which lead me to become legally blind for almost a year. The doctors didn't give me much hope, predicting an 80% chance that I would never see again. But I refused to give up and changed my lifestyle drastically. Through sheer willpower (and an amazing eye surgeon) I beat the odds and regained my vision. During that difficult time, I couldn't read or write, which was devastating as they had always been a source of comfort for me since childhood. However, my wife took me to the local library where she read out the titles of audiobooks to me. I selected some of my favorite books, such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more, and the audiobooks brought these stories to life in a way I had never experienced before. They helped me through the darkest period of my life and I fell in love with audiobooks. Once I regained my vision, I decided to pursue a career as an audiobook narrator instead of a writer. That's why I created Tall Tale TV, to support aspiring authors in the writing communities that I had grown to love before my ordeal. My goal was to help them promote their work by providing a promotional audio short story that showcases their writing skills to readers. They say the strongest form of advertising is word of mouth, so I offer a platform for readers to share these videos and help spread the word about these talented writers. Please consider sharing these stories with your friends and family to support these amazing authors. A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense. The Rizzuto Show is back with another funny podcast packed with St. Louis chaos, celebrity gossip, questionable decisions, movie arguments, music trivia, and the sort of stories that make you wonder how we've managed to keep microphones this long. The main event comes straight out of the St. Louis area, where a member golf tournament at WingHaven Country Club reportedly turned into an elaborate hole-in-one caper. According to the story, a golfer told his group that his grandma was in the hospital and he might need to step away for an important phone call. Totally understandable. Very wholesome. Absolutely nothing suspicious happening here. Then the call arrives near a par-three hole.He heads up alone, supposedly hits his tee shot while nobody is watching, and when everyone reaches the green… would you look at that? His ball is IN THE HOLE.A hole-in-one! What a miracle! Grandma must be so proud! There's just one tiny problem: cameras. The crew digs into the allegations that surveillance footage caught the golfer visiting the hole before the round, creating a divot and putting a ball in the cup. Suddenly, Grandma's hospital call becomes one of the most aggressively suspicious excuses in golf history. With reports that the hole-in-one pot may have been around $9,000, the guys debate the most important question: how much money does it take before you're willing to risk becoming the guy who allegedly invented a medical emergency for Grandma to cheat at golf? From there, this funny podcast moves naturally into the next logical subject: whether Jonah Hill could annihilate everyone in a fight.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Toasted ravioli? Obviously. Gooey butter cake? Put some respect on it. The microchip? Apparently Missouri has been doing a little more than deep-frying carbohydrates this whole time. Then Crap on Celebrities arrives with another truckload of entertainment gossip and pop culture commentary. Mark Zuckerberg's massive yacht gets dragged into controversy after a stranded boat reportedly needed help in Alaska. Britney Spears warns fans about a bad Botox experience. The crew gets into movie box-office numbers, Spider-Man, Super Troopers, Bugonia, Weapons and The Dink, because apparently nobody can simply say “I liked the movie” without turning it into a federal hearing. There's also Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave discussing the surprising money she's making on OnlyFans without nudity, Blink-182 heading back into the studio, Five Nights at Freddy's becoming an actual immersive restaurant experience, and a debate over the greatest new wave singers that quickly proves nobody is completely sure where “new wave” begins or ends.Add in Bob Marley's ridiculous Billboard longevity, the biggest-selling albums of all time, celebrity birthdays and the usual collection of side quests, arguments and unnecessary observations, and you've got another daily dose of The Rizzuto Show. It's celebrity news, weird news, St. Louis stories and sarcastic humor crammed into one comedy podcast — because apparently discussing an alleged fake hole-in-one for this long is considered a profession.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Rizzuto is back from France, which means it's finally time to answer the question nobody asked: Can one man visit one of the most beautiful cities in the world and still come home with enough complaints to fill a morning show? Oui.An Amber Alert that woke up half the city before taking a bizarre turn, plus Scott's live music adventure at Copper Fire, where the performance went great once the minor technical issue of the speakers actually producing sound was finally addressed. We also learn that Rizzuto is approaching the end of age 47, supposedly the happiest year of his life. Great news to discover right before it expires. Then comes important local Italian-American business: the world's oldest ravioli maker is opening its first U.S. manufacturing facility in St. Charles. Naturally, Rizzuto immediately begins wondering why his invitation to the ribbon cutting hasn't arrived. If there's a giant ravioli involved and this man isn't allowed to emerge from it holding an oversized pizza cutter, then frankly, what are we even doing here? There are positives. The Paris Catacombs were incredible, featuring the bones of millions of people and the mildly unsettling realization that apparently enough tourists try to steal human remains that bags need to be checked on the way out. A nighttime river cruise delivered gorgeous views of the Eiffel Tower. There were baguettes. There was an absolutely elite steak sandwich. And yes, Paris itself occasionally managed to impress our extremely difficult international correspondent. One cab driver takes the scenic interpretation of “wrong direction,” keeps the meter running, and eventually gets into a heated French argument with Rizz.Travel chaos continues with a kid refusing to buckle a seatbelt and helping get an entire flight canceled overnight. From there, we examine airport security and the long-running liquid restrictions that have forced generations of travelers to choose between personal hygiene and bringing enough shampoo to survive Tuesday.A golfer allegedly fakes a hole-in-one for thousands of dollars using a sick-grandma phone call as cover, and somehow that's only the beginning of today's nonsense.Hill's Brazilian jiu-jitsu confidence gets the Rizz Show treatment as the guys debate martial arts, celebrity bravado, Michael Cera's hypothetical fighting abilities and why the people who could actually fold you into a carry-on bag are usually the least interested in telling everybody about it.We also celebrate Missouri's birthday with a rundown of inventions, foods and famous names tied to the Show-Me State. Texting, remote work, apps, online ordering, and our collective desire to avoid asking strangers how their day is going may be slowly murdering small talk. Naturally, this turns into a debate over whether small talk is an important social skill or just an obstacle standing between you and the salad you ordered downstairs.Moon admits that talking to strangers has basically become his personal training regimen, Rafe defends the lost art of actually communicating with another human being, Scott brings the small-town friendliness, and Rizz is patiently waiting for telepathy so he can stop participating altogether.First up: is having roommates a romantic deal breaker? A dating trend suggests some singles see living alone as proof that you've got your life together financially and personally. That raises the obvious question: do men and women judge this the same way? Rafe has some thoughts, including exactly how much questionable housekeeping a man might overlook when he finds someone attractive. We regret to inform you the answer is: quite a bit.A 29-year-old comedian and influencer went viral after canceling a first date with a 38-year-old finance guy because his restaurant selection was too casual. Her argument? The restaurant a potential partner chooses says something about compatibility, lifestyle, and effort. The show's counterargument quickly becomes slightly less scientific: what exactly qualifies someone as “Chili's material”?Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Fabricated report triggered Amber Alert, 1-year-old boy was never in dangerWorld's oldest ravioli maker opening first US facility in St. CharlesWinter Weather Predictions 2026–2027: What's Shaping Winter So Far?Porter Flight Canceled After Toddler Blocked by YYJ Curfew: What Stranded Passengers Are OwedHe faked a hole in one. It's a very upsetting time for us all having to revisited Space Jam 2. I mean sure it stars four times champion NBA superstar LeBron James plus the Looney Tunes plus every IP Warner Brothers has ever had their sweaty hands on (Game of Thrones, The Matrix, Gremlins, Harry Potter, Clockwork Orange, IT, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, The Joker, Rick & Morty, Mad Max etc). The result is a more Ready Player One than Roger Rabbit which some people might like but I don't like that.
