Visa (#V) just announced Q3 earnings and reported pre-pandemic levels of revenue! The financial services company announced Q3 Non-GAAP EPS of $1.49 (beats by $0.14) and revenue of $6.13B (beats by $270M). Shares of #Visa made new all time highs of $252 earlier this week, leaving many investors skeptical about buying. But there's a solid argument made for why shares can go higher. Cross-border transaction revenues are still down -$500M from 2019 levels, while total revenues are back to pre-pandemic levels. As travel comes back, revenues should increase, which can easily boost the stock price higher.

This episode features an interview with Jay Lee, CMO at Avalara, a leading provider of tax compliance automation software valued at $13B.Jay is a two-time CMO with more than 20 years of experience developing high-performing marketing teams, and previously held leadership roles at GE, American Express, and PayPal.Key TakeawaysIf your company is in a rapidly changing industry, treat your website as an online newspaper. Keep your users up-to-date on what's changing in your industry so your site is the go-to site.Always have backup marketing channels at the ready. You never know when the next curveball will be thrown your way.CMOs that don't have the numbers on their side are in deep trouble. Metrics are your best and worst enemy. Quotes“We are always trying to get a sense of what the spend is and then what the return is. In B2B, it's all about what kind of leads you are creating and all the different programs that you have and what kind of pipeline you're generating for sales.”“A recommendation from a partner, ‘hey, you should use Avalara to manage your tax compliance in our system,' that's enormous. We do a lot of direct marketing ourselves. But it's always better to have that trusted advisor or a system that you're already using to endorse us because you know that it's going to work and that's what really matters.” “COVID happened in March and immediately the whole events industry shut down. That was a whole channel for us. It just went dark. If you're thinking about a multichannel approach to go to market and one of the main ones to your target audience gets shut off — what are you going to do? What we did was we leaned into all the other channels. We put up a bunch of webinars and started to get ourselves into the virtual world.” “What's so great about marketing versus any other part of the company is it's where you're actually supposed to test a ton of stuff. So there really isn't any bad marketing campaign. Just as long as it doesn't cause any reputational issues or do anything that's too strange.” “Marketing should never say this: ‘We tried that and it didn't work.' Because the world is always different today than it was yesterday. And circumstances have changed. Testing is always a part of the budget that people should make sure that they have.” SponsorDemand Gen Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com, the #1 Conversational Marketing platform for companies that use Salesforce and the secret weapon for Demand Gen pros. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.10.14.338822v1?rss=1 Authors: Deganutti, G., Barkan, K., Ladds, G., Reynolds, C. A. Abstract: Despite being a target for about one-third of approved drugs, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) still represent a tremendous reservoir for therapeutic strategies against countless diseases. For example, several cardiovascular and central nervous systems conditions could benefit from clinical agents that activate the adenosine 1 receptor (A1R), however, the pursuit of A1R agonists for clinical use are usually impeded by both on- and off-target side effects. One of the possible strategies to overcome this issue is the development of positive allosteric modulators (PAMs) capable of selectively enhancing the effect of a specific receptor subtype and triggering functional selectivity (a phenomenon also referred to as bias). Intriguingly, besides enforcing the effect of agonists upon binding to an allosteric site, most of the A1R PAMs display intrinsic partial agonism and orthosteric competition with antagonists. To rationalize this behaviour, we simulated the binding of the prototypical PAMs PD81723 and VCP171, the antagonist 13B, and the bitopic agonist VCP746. We propose that a single PAM can bind several A1R sites rather than a unique allosteric pocket, reconciling the structure-activity relationship and the mutagenesis results. Abstract: Proprioception, the sense of self-movement and position, is mediated by mechanosensory neurons that detect diverse features of body kinematics. Although proprioceptive feedback is crucial for accurate motor control, little is known about how downstream circuits transform limb sensory information to guide motor output. Here, we investigate neural circuits in Drosophila that process proprioceptive information from the fly leg. We identify three cell-types from distinct developmental lineages that are positioned to receive input from proprioceptor subtypes encoding tibia position, movement, and vibration. 13B neurons encode femur-tibia joint angle and mediate postural changes in tibia position. 9A neurons also drive changes in leg posture, but encode a combination of directional movement, high frequency vibration, and joint angle. Activating 10B neurons, which encode tibia vibration at specific joint angles, elicits pausing in walking flies. Altogether, our results reveal that central circuits integrate information across proprioceptor subtypes to construct complex sensorimotor representations that mediate diverse behaviors, including reflexive control of limb posture and detection of leg vibration. Ray Dalio (net worth $13B) just said to the world “cash is not what you want to have right now, AT ALL” In episode 2, Chris and Taylor talk about the HISTORY OF MONEY: FED, Fiat Money. Let’s say we only have 100 single-dollar-bills. That’s all there is in the entire world. Let’s also say that your yearly salary is $1 per year, and let’s also say that a house costs $1 to buy… which is one year’s salary, and 1% of the world’s total supply of dollar bills. THEN, the government prints 900 more single-dollar-bills, bringing the total world’s supply to 1,000 single-dollar-bills. This is “inflation,” because the “purchasing power” of $1 just went way down… WHY? Inflation (2-3% annually which is actual devaluing of the dollars buying power). Opportunity cost (of 10%+ yearly w/compounding creates your biggest risk of all time). Let’s say you put $100k into real estate today… 10 years from now if you follow our strategies, that will likely be worth $537,566 and you will have some debt on it (likely $260k) so you’ll have a positive growth net-worth wise of $270k equity (up from $100k cash) PLUS: $150k in cash payments from rental CASH FLOW - $100k turns into $370k vs $100k turning into $77,632. Ray says cash is trash because cash is DEVALUING (inflation). See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Setting for Palm Sunday Various Passages April 14, 2019I. Introduction:A. The setting for any story is a crucial element of the story.1. Just think if you missed the first 15 minutes of the Wizard of Oz and all yousaw was the rest of the story without being introduced to key characters, thetornado that knocked Dorothy out and not know why she was trying so hardto get back to Kansas!2. That setting helped us better understand the events, characters and theconclusion to the story of the Wizard of Oz!B. The setting is also important to the story of the triumphal entry of Jesus intoJerusalem. It helps us get some context as to what was really going on, helps ussee the importance of that event, we learn more about Jesus from it, and finallythe theme of that event that we celebrate today on Palm Sunday.C. My goal this morning is to show “what is the big deal” with this event that kickedoff …1. The most important week in the history of this whole world which resulted inthe death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.2. And it kicked off a series of events that eventually led to Jesus’ departurefrom this world, His ascension when He went back to heaven.• To accomplish this goal let’s look at …II. The setting to the Triumphal EntryA. Turn to Luke 9:29-31.1. This passage was the time that Jesus was transfigured on the mountain whileHe was praying. It goes on to tell us that two men appeared at that time andwere talking with Jesus, those two men were Moses and Elijah.2. Wouldn’t you have loved to be in on that conversation and listen to what theywere talking about?3. Read 29-31.4. They were talking about His departure, His departure from this world afterHe died, rose and ascended to heaven. And it was going to take place inJerusalem.5. I would say since that was their discussion during the transfiguration of JesusChrist then it would put that topic right at the top of importance list!B. Look at Luke 9:51 and read1. We see here that the days were approaching regarding His ascension whichHe talked about with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration.2. In light of that, Jesus was determined to go to Jerusalem. It literally meansHe “set His face” to go to Jerusalem. That means Jesus had a strong, firmand unchanging commitment to go to JerusalemC. Then in Chapters 13 and 17 it makes a point of telling us about Jesus teaching anddoing miracles while He was on his way to Jerusalem.D. Turn to Luke 18:31-34 where Jesus told the twelve disciples why He was going toJerusalem. Read v31-34E. Turn to Luke 19:11 as they now were getting real close to Jerusalem. And thetwelve disciples had a whole different idea as to why they thought they wereheading to Jerusalem.1. Read 19:112. They thought it was time for the kingdom of God to appear3. But in the next verse Jesus starts to tell them a parable that indicates He isgoing to be going on a long trip, receive a kingdom, then return back again.Read v124. No, that earthly kingdom of God is not going to start now but after a longperiod of time when I return!F. Look down at 19:28 where we see that they were so close that Jesus sends two ofHis disciples ahead to get a donkey, actually a colt – a young male donkey, tobring to Jesus.1. Read v28-352. And now we are ready for the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.• So it is clear that this entry is important. But to understand why this is thesignificance and Jesus had to do this we need to seeIII. The setting behind the settingA. We find this by looking at three key Old Testament passages that actually refer to“this” event of Jesus coming into Jerusalem. And these will help us understandwhy this is so important, exactly what was going on that day.B. Turn to Psalm 118:22-26. This is what is known as Messianic Psalm – simply aPsalm that speaks of the Messiah, the Christ, the coming Savior and King, notonly of Israel but of the whole world.1. As I read watch fora) The rejection of the Messiah, the stone, by the builders but God takingthat rejected stone and making it the chief corner stone for His building,His church, His kingdom.b) Also note that the psalmist calls upon Him to save them, and they givetheir blessing upon this one, this corner stone who comes in the name ofthe Lord2. Read3. Note in Acts 4 that Peter told the rulers and elders of Israel, their leaders, their builders, that they had crucified Jesus the Christ whom God raised –then he said this. Read Acts 4:11-124. So we learn in this passage that there is going to be a rejection by the leadersof God’s Messiah, His Christ, His King and a praise of Him by the people!C. Turn to Daniel 9:25-261. And it is important to realize this book was written 600 years before Jesuscame!2. Here we see what I believe is the most amazing prophecy in Scripture whereGod tells Israel the exact date the Messiah will come to them. I did a sermonon this 16 years ago where I broke down the whole passage phrase by phrase(April 13, 2003) – I am sure you all remember it. But if you forgot it will beattached along with these notes on our church web page. Also CDsavailable!3. Actually from this verse if you do the calculations you will see the exact datethe Messiah, God’s anointed King will come to Israel.a) When the calculations are done you will see the date is April 6, 32 AD –the exact date of the Triumphal Entry we are looking at today in Luke19. The day that Jesus officially presented Himself as the Messiah!4. Then the next verse tells us what will happen after this date. Read v26a) The Messiah will be cut off – the Hebrew word used to indicate a violentdeath. – An obvious reference to the Cross of Christb) Then after this violent death the city of Jerusalem and the Temple will bedestroyed by enemies. –(1) We know from history that the city of Jerusalem and the Templewere destroyed in 70 AD by the Roman army under the leadershipof General Titus.D. Final prep verses I want you to see is in Zechariah 9:9-10. A book that waswritten 500 years before Jesus came! Read and point out1. Their king was going to come to Jerusalem bringing salvation and riding on adonkey, specifically a colt a young male donkey. v92. And note that He is coming to bring peace v10a) He is going to cut off the chariot, horse and bow – all instruments of war.b) He will speak peace to the nations3. His reign will be over the entire world!• Now let’s go back to Luke 19 and read the account with all this setting now in ourminds.IV. Triumphal EntryA. We already saw in the setting to this that Jesus was coming into Jerusalem and Heis going to be on the colt of a donkey, just like Zechariah 9 says and He is alsocoming in on the exact date Daniel 9:25 told us that the Messiah would come toJerusalem. April 6, 32 ADB. So let’s read this – Read Luke 191. Read 35-37a2. Remember we learned in Psalm 118 that the people will praise him but theleaders will reject Him.a) Listen to 37b-39b) They actually quoted the very words of Psalm 118 but changed it fromone who comes to the King who comes. Because of the miracles theysaw they knew He was the Messiahc) The religious leaders told Jesus to stop the people from calling Him theKing. They rejected Jesus as the King.3. Note Jesus’ response to what just happened as he was approaching Jerusalem.Reada) V41-42(1) “This” day – this specific day – April 6 32 AD the date that Danielhad told you about.(2) This day with a proper response would have brought the peace thatv10 of Zechariah 9 spoke of, cut off war weapons and bring peace.4. Now in the next few verses we see the enemies and destruction that Daniel9:26 told us would happen after the Messiah came to Jerusalem and would beviolently killed. Read 43-44b.5. The reason for all of this is found at the end of v44. Read 44ca) They did not recognize that they just got a visit from God, from theMessiah who would bring them peace and salvation.b) Rather than accepting and worshipping the Messiah the leaders of thenation rejected Him and actually sought to put Him to death – Read v47a fulfillment of Daniel 9:26 the violent death of the Messiah.C. Palm Sunday was the official presentation of God’s King to Israel, who came tobring peace and salvation and while the people recognized who He was theofficial leaders of the nation rejected Him.• There are two possible responses to this major event in Jesus life. First….V. ApplicationA. The religious leaders rejected Jesus because they did not recognize who Jesus wasor what was going on1. Read v44.2. Do you recognize that King Jesus is actually here at MVC this very morning? You can’t see Him but the Bible teaches very clearly He is with us when wegather in Jesus’ name3. And do you recognize what is going on here today is you just heard clearlywho Jesus is as proven by this very special event, the Triumphal Entry? AndHe is here today to bring you salvation and peace!4. John 1:9-13B. Is your response like the common people who recognized and praised Jesus astheir King?1. Read v37c-382. Read v40 – If they did not praise Him the stones on the street would havebecause this event was so big and important. This entry demands praise!!!!

Prayer: My Personal JourneyVarious PassagesFeb 10, 2019 Introduction:A. My guess that in a room this size there are very few people who feel fullysatisfied with their prayer life. On one end of the spectrum you have people whopray very well but feel like they really should pray more and on the other end ofthe spectrum there are people who know they should pray but know very littleabout prayer and not sure how to do it.B. Today we start a series on prayer. I want to start by sharing with you some of myjourney with prayer with the hope that something at some point of my journeymay be helpful to you.C. I know that Satan hates prayer and will do everything he can to stop us fromdoing it, to stop you from coming to hear this series, and if you do come, todistract you as we talk about it.D. So let me start by praying for us regarding this series!• Before I knew Jesus my prayer life was one ofI. Recited PrayersA. I knew only two prayers – the Hail Mary and the Lord’s Prayer “Our Father”.B. Never once did I pray from my heart with my own words. Whenever I wouldpray, I would repeat over and over again these two prayers thinking God waspleased with me for doing this and would therefore give me good things in mylife!• That practice continued until the day that …II. I called upon the name of the Lord to be saved.A. It was a time of desperation after I had destroyed my life with drugs and I was sodesperate that I went to a chaplain’s office for help.B. After he told me how Jesus had helped others in the same situation as mine andthat He could help me as well, he then shared the gospel with me. I remembersaying, “Could I get just a few minutes to think about this?”1. So I went in another room and for the first time I talked to God as I said“God, I do not know if this is some weird religion or not but all I know is Ineed you”2. And for the first time in my life I heard that still small voice whisper in myheart “this is the way, walk in it”C. Then I went back into the room with the chaplain and in a prayer he led I throughI called upon the Lord to save me. Instantly, deeply, and forever my life waschanged. Prayer is powerful and can change the whole direction of your life!• As aIII. New BelieverA. My prayers were very short but much like the time in the chaplain’s office –sharing my heart in my words with God regarding the need of the moment.B. But the more I was around other believers and impressed by their prayers themore I wanted to pray like them because they sounded so spiritual. And the moreI did that the drier it became. Primarily my prayer time was at meals and a fewminutes in the morning. That lasted about three years.• As aIV. Growing BelieverA. God placed in me, from early on, a deep love for His Word. So this is what myprayer life looked like for many years – Spend an hour in the Word and thenspend two minutes in prayer at the end of it. And of course, I prayed at meals.B. Then I ran into a spiritual crisis in my heart. The question in my heart was“where is the power?” I had this two-sided dilemma in my life.1. On the one hand, I knew that the Holy Spirit of God lived in me, that I havealready been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, andthat the exact same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead was mine, the resurrection power of Christ.2. But on the other hand while I felt that I had experienced a touch of all ofthese it was not like rivers of living water flowing from my heart it was morelike a hose trickling out just enough water to keep me going.3. I saw in the Bible that the power I was supposed to have but radical honestywould have to say I did not see it in my life.• From that point there have been numerous things God has taught me to address thispowerlessness in my life. First …V. Praying In FaithA. Read Hebrews 11:61. Rewarder2. I believed that God is, and that God is able, but I did not believe that Hewould do it for me. Another way to say it is that I had a deep dependencyupon God without any expectancy. Need both.3. I had built my prayer life off what I call the exception rather than the rule. Ialways used the great escape clause that would let God and me off the hook ifhe did not answer my prayers. That little phrase “If it be your will”a) I prayed like an extreme sovereigntist - God is God and He is going to dowhat He wants to do and what He has planned to do.b) So when I prayed I would pour out my heart to God but when I withclosed with “If it be your will” I really did not expect God to answer myrequest but to do His will.B. God taught me at this time what I believe to be one of the “great wonders” of theprayer life - “a sovereign God answers prayer.”1. I had allowed my theology of God’s sovereignty to wash away my faith inprayer.• As I began to pray in faith then God led me to another foundational truth. This truthis …VI. Asking as the means to receiving!A. Turn to and read Matthew 7:7-81. The other side of the coin is found in James 4:2, “you have not because youask not!2. God has established asking as the means to receiving in His kingdom!3. J.I. Packer says it this way “God has purposed to give us blessings throughprayer”B. If I want to see God’s power in my daily life, I need to ask Him for it and not justsay my prayers and go through the prayer list!• Then another key truth turned my prayer life upside downIV. John 14:13A. Please turn to this.B. Before I read this let me tell you what my basic disposition was in prayer – “Godplease bless my doings and efforts!” In other words “God, take out your saltshaker of blessings and shake your blessings upon what I do.”C. Read John 14:13-141. I prayed – God bless what I do – Here Jesus is saying “I will do it” – Jesuswill do what we ask!D. Prayer is not about God blessing my efforts and doing but rather about God doinga miracle – Jesus Himself doing for me, what I ask.E. God began to open my eyes to the fact that I do not have the power in my life notonly because I am not asking God to do that in my life. But also because I am justasking him to add a little blessing to my doings rather than the miracle of JesusHimself in all His power - doing things in and through my life!• Next God used a book in my life calledV. Praying HydeA. John Hyde was a missionary to India who felt God’s call on his life to pray for thelost and those in the ministry!1. He would spend close to eight hours a day in prayer.2. The stories that God did through him in reaching the lost and impactingothers who ministered are numerous and impressiveB. What I learned from him is that I need the Spirit of God to enable me for prayer asmuch as I need him to preach or evangelize! He said his secret to prayer was Gal2:20 “not I but Christ” He depended upon the Spirit of Jesus in him to praythrough him!C. From that I have begun a practice of the very first thing I do in prayer is declaremy need and dependence upon the spirit of Christ to lead me and equip me inprayer so that Jesus is praying through me!D. And from that book, I began a practice of setting my alarm at one hour andpraying during that time. To be honest with you, that lasted about a year to a yearand a half then it faded away• Then God used the verse to resolve a major tension I was feeling about the power inthe Bible but not in my life! It was …VII. Hebrews 4:16A. Read Hebrews 4:16B. “May find grace to help”C. I thought, “Why do I need to find grace when I already have it and every spiritualblessing I could ever get? Why do I need to find grace when I already have thepowerful Holy Spirit living in me who raised Jesus Christ from the dead?D. Then the lights went on in my life: prayer is the means by which we experiencethe grace and power of God in our everyday life and ministry, whatever the needmight be.E. Prayer is grace’s withdrawal slip. All the free gifts, all the power of the HolySpirit and the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ that God has depositedinto our lives can be withdrawn and used in our daily lives through believingprayer.• As I was doing my own personal study about the Holy Spirit I noted that repeatedly…VIII. Prayer and ministry of the Holy Spirit are closely associated to one another!A. Turn and Read Luke 11:11-13B. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. I already have the Holy Spiritbut to experience His power in my life, all the power of the resurrection of JesusChrist I need to ask God.C. I do not assume the filling, leading, anointing, sanctifying, convicting orconverting work of the Spirit. I come to God and ask Him for those believing Hewill do it based on this verse and others that connect the ministry of the HolySpirit to prayer.• Next God used a meeting we had as leaders withIX. Al ToledoA. Al is the pastor at the Chicago Tabernacle and the son in law of Jim Cymblawhose ministry and church is known for and built off of prayerB. Through that meeting with Al, God pointed out to me something so profound andfoundational about prayer and it was not through any point that Al was trying tomake.1. All night long Al did not use the word “prayer” but instead said “talking toGod”2. It knocked me off my seat – this thing prayer is not about saying my prayersbut about talking to God just as I would talk to Kim in the morning overcoffee or in times of deep stress.3. That has totally changed the way I approach God and even as I pray the senseof what I am doing as I pray – I am not saying prayers but I am talking toGod.• The last thing God has done has spoken to me through another book …X. A W Tozer -Prayer: Communicating with God in EverythingA. His point at the start of the book is very clear – The goal of God in our prayer lifeis not a daily prayer time but a life of prayer – an all-day awareness of God beingwith you and a conversation with God as you walk through the dayB. I have felt bad for years that I was not able to sustain an hour of day in prayer andI felt that I was moving backwards in prayer rather than forward! But the realityis I would pray for an hour, 30 minutes, 10 minutes whatever then I would moveon with the day and not talk to God because I did my time in the morning.C. Tozer was saying that prayer should be a conversation that you have with God allday long, as you walk through life. Guess what? – That is where I have been andGod encouraged me that He would rather I talk to Him all day long as I confrontsituations rather than in the morning and not take a thought of Him again.D. We can know God’s power all day long as we walk and talk with Him all daylong not just a prayer time or prayer meeting.XI. ConclusionA. Michelle created a movement to empower women from the first piece of clothing they put on in the morning. She shares the secrets of how she built a culture-driven business that has inspired more than 40,000 brand ambassadors, the role of customer feedback in her product strategy, and how she took a direct-to-consumer brand to multiple offline retail locations. Michelle Cordeiro Grant, Founder & CEO of LIVELY, has spent her career creating brands and product for some of the world's largest retailers including Federated, VF Corporation, Limited Brands/ Victoria's Secret and Thrillist Media Group. Grant realized that her passion was in supporting, creating and developing amazing brands and products and instantly fell in love with the entire process from concept to customer. While working with Victoria's Secret, she learned that the $13B lingerie category, in the US alone, was dominated by a single brand, with a single point of view, so Grant was inspired to create a completely new experience for the category — one she calls Leisurée — and LIVELY was born. 2:45 What prompted you to start the company and this movement 4:42 What are your company’s values and how did it affect how you built the company? 6:25 How did you grow the brand-ambassador community to 40,000 strong? 8:31 How does the brand leverage Instagram? 9:13 Talk about your company's social media strategy. What kind of metrics do you think about, how do you staff your team to optimize for social media? 10:27 Beyond Instagram, what other social platforms are relevant as a direct-to-consumer brand? 11:25 How do you think about competition? 12:09 What’s an example of your company implementing a customer-driven strategy? 13:48 What are the challenges of being both a digital brand and selling a physical good? 15:09 What’s an example of a time where you tried something and it didn’t go as planned? 16:23 As a digital-first, direct-to-consumer brand, why go offline? What are the benefits and what is the long-term strategy? 17:41 What are some learnings from opening your own shop compared to launching within a known retailer? 19:48 On your most recent trip to China, what made it an eye-opening experience? How did it change your perspective or influence your strategy? 23:28 Tell us more about the choice to expand into other categories. Why did you make this choice and how did it go? 25:23 How have you built your team? 30:19 What is a book or piece of content you’d recommend to entrepreneurs and founders? 30:52 Who are some mentors that helped you along the way? 31:28 Tell us about an entrepreneur you really admire and why? 31:51 If LIVELY was a person, what would you tell her?

Last fall, eight winners of Shopify’s Build a Bigger Business competition were flown to Tony’s Fiji resort Namale for both group and one-on-one coaching sessions with him. One of the winners was an entrepreneur that Tony personally selected from the entrants – Michelle Cordeiro Grant: the founder of Lively, a brand that is fusing athleisure and lingerie to bring comfort and style to women’s intimates. Michelle began her career with Federated Merchandising Group, creating brands and product for one of the world's largest retailers. Grant instantly fell in love with the entire process from concept to customer, and realized that her passion was in supporting, creating and developing amazing brands and products. Grant spent the tenure of her career with the industry leaders – Federated, VF Corporation and Limited Brands/ Victoria's Secret. Her work at Federated focused on the development of private label brands and at VFC, Grant was responsible for launching global brands like Nautica Women’s Sportswear. Seeing the shift in the market towards e-commerce, Grant moved to Victoria’s Secret where she focused on merchandising and strategy for VS's digital arm. Once Grant realized she wanted to create her own brand, she spent a number of years at a thriving startup, Thrillist Media Group, overseeing their commerce division. By working for top retailers, traveling the globe to meet world class manufacturers and spending a couple years with an incredible startup, Grant learned the importance of creating a strong brand affinity, crafting a quality product and building a dynamic team. While working with Victoria's Secret, she learned that this $13B lingerie category, in the US alone, was dominated by this one brand, with one point of view. Grant was inspired to create a completely new experience for the category – one she coined Leisurée – and so LIVELY was born. In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, Michelle sits down with our host, Ana, to talk about her experience with Tony, and the key insights that she took from this session and put to work in her business. We hear what it’s been like for Michelle to build the Lively brand. We learn how she has strategically leveraged social media, curated an extraordinary customer experience, and created company ethos that serves as their north star when it comes to their most important business decisions. We learn just how Michelle intends to spread her message of body positivity and community all while bringing her customers a brand that makes them look, feel and live confidently.

Peter Gleysteen is the CEO of AGL Credit. Before AGL he had two prior employers, JPMorgan Chase and CIFC, a loan asset manager he founded. More recently he built CIFC Asset Management into a leading private debt manager with $13B in AUM, serving as founder and CEO from 2005-2014. Syndicated bank loans are a non-traditional asset class in that they're not securities, but loans, meaning they're not sold on an exchange. Its appeal to long-term investors go up when interest rates are high and see most retail investors sell when rates drop. Because of the unstandardized nature of bank loans, each one is customized by the regional bank. “It's also one of the reasons why the returns are so high because compared to almost anything else, there's a lot of excess return in bank loans.” ————————————————————————— To learn more about this episode, including podcast transcripts and show notes, visit *salt.org/talks* ( http://salt.org/talks ) Moderated by Anthony Scaramucci.
