In this transformative episode of The Authentic Dentist Podcast, Dr. Allison House sits down with Dr. Brian Harris, a visionary cosmetic dentist who revolutionized his practice through authentic connection and innovative technology. Dr. Harris shares his remarkable journey from traditional general dentistry to becoming a leader in cosmetic dentistry and dental technology innovation. The conversation reveals how authentic leadership in dentistry can emerge when practitioners embrace vulnerability and genuine connection with patients. Dr. Harris's story demonstrates the power of aligning clinical expertise with personal values, showing how one dentist's willingness to step outside conventional boundaries created both sustainable success and meaningful patient transformation.Through candid discussion about his transition from general dentistry to exclusive cosmetic work, Dr. Harris illustrates how finding fulfillment as a dentist often requires the courage to pursue your authentic calling, even when it means deviating from traditional practice models. His experience mentored by his father—also one of Dr. House's mentors—showcases the importance of wisdom-based guidance in developing both technical excellence and authentic leadership. The episode explores how technology can enhance rather than replace human connection in dentistry, demonstrating that authentic dental practice isn't about choosing between innovation and relationships, but about using innovation to deepen meaningful connections with patients.

SMX Advanced is back. The show is happening live, for the first time in public since the pandemic, in Boston this week. Hosts Jim Hedger and Kristine Schachinger recall the traveling circus atmosphere of the early conference circuit. Meanwhile Google is trying to reduce redundant Googlers in the Search and Ad units with a voluntary exit buyout program. This is happening while Google's systems are reporting a number of weird bugs with business profiles disappearing, Discover numbers appearing to flatline in GSC, some search Ads not displaying, and a GSC API that's been broken since early June. We also look at a post-Musk DOGE on reports of data leaks, and secret transmissions of public and White House data. The world at WordPress is changing with a splinter group called FAIR establishing a mirror system to allow all WordPress players access to plugin and platform updates. As FAIR moves forward, Matt Mullenwig's Automattic says it will start contributing to the WordPress ecosystem again after a months long pause. Over in the world of search, there are several stories on AI development and training including sycophantic AI, Apple's AI accuracy collapse, the need to feed more written work into the training chasm, and the Wikipedia editor's rebellion against AI summarization. We note how different AI Generative Engines seek summaries from different sources, and how the majority of AI search traffic comes from Desktop rather than mobile SERPs. Google confirms AI Mode will increasingly be incorporated into all search results and a former Rockstar notes how everything old in SEO is still relevant today by breaking down the foundations of AI search over the last 15 years. Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/webcology/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

This show has been flagged as Clean by the host. How does it work? qrcp binds a web server to the address of your Wi-Fi network interface on a random port and creates a handler for it. The default handler serves the content and exits the program when the transfer is complete. When used to receive files, qrcp serves an upload page and handles the transfer. The tool prints a QR code that encodes the text: http://{address}:{port}/{random_path} Most QR apps can detect URLs in decoded text and act accordingly (i.e. open the decoded URL with the default browser), so when the QR code is scanned the content will begin downloading by the mobile browser. WordPress hits play after a messy pause, but is it too little, too late for the CMS giant? Meanwhile, Google's AI experiments are changing the rules for email marketing, local search, and desktop Discover, leaving marketers everywhere scrambling for a playbook that doesn't exist. Erin and SEO pro Cindy Krum break down WordPress's mudslinging match with WP Engine and the quiet return to development, all while raising eyebrows over community trust. We check on Google's ever-evolving SERPs—AI Overviews, the deployment of Discover on desktop, and the not-so-sneaky ways impressions and clicks are decoupling faster than you can say “zero-click search.” Added to the mix: AI's impact on your inbox and why we might all end up living the “Dead Internet Theory.” Is SEO on life support or just evolving (again)? We debate the rosy new journey-centric approach while side-eyeing Google's “trust us, bro” attitude toward data transparency. Buckle up for a rapid-fire tour through the SEO wilderness—tracking AI hallucinations, local search creepiness, and why “hyper-personalization” might not sell more cannolis after all. video: https://youtu.be/PtP_jOlAIHE Comment on the TWIL Forum (https://thisweekinlinux.com/forum) This week in Linux, we have a lot of cool stuff to talk about. First, we're going to talk about the future of KDE Plasma. Then we're going to go into the future of OpenSUSE because Leap 16 beta has been released and the final version will be coming out this year. Then we'll also have a new version of Mozilla Firefox. And also we have some interesting news from the Oregon State University because there's some potential risk of closure of their Open Source Lab, which would be a shame. And then we're also going to talk about Redis because they're back in the news this week because they want to redo with Open Source. All of this and more on This Week in Linux, the weekly news show that keeps you up to date with what's going on in the Linux and Open Source world.
