**The John Phillips Show**This episode of the show is a wake-up call for the city of Los Angeles, where the homeless crisis has reached new heights. A shocking story from Brentwood has left everyone talking, and it's a stark reminder of the city's inability to tackle the issue. The speaker takes a closer look at the latest homeless encampment, where a man has somehow managed to get a shopping cart up on top of a bus shelter, sparking a heated discussion about the city's response to the crisis. The episode delves into the city's efforts to address the homeless issue, with a new fence being installed in South LA to deter people from entering an alleyway where a homeless encampment was previously located. However, the solution seems to be just a Band-Aid, as the problem persists, with the encampment simply moving to a new location. The speaker also discusses the alarming number of homeless fires in the city, with over 12,000 reported so far this year, and the devastating consequences of these fires, including the melting of a freeway. The conversation also touches on the city's lack of action in addressing the root causes of the homeless crisis, with the speaker questioning why people who start fires are not being held accountable. The episode highlights the need for a more comprehensive solution to the issue, rather than just patching up the symptoms. The speaker also shares a personal anecdote about a conversation with a homeless individual who prefers living on the streets to following the rules. If you're concerned about the state of our city and want to hear more about the homeless crisis, tune in to this episode of the show to hear the speaker's take on the issue and the proposed solutions.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's a regular Thursday sync until my manager cuts our Figma license and hands the whole product team one month to go fully AI. In this one I walk through who made that call, the surprisingly solid case for it, and the very selfish panic running through my head while I said nothing. When the tool you spent a decade mastering loses its market value in a single meeting, what exactly are you afraid of losing: your job, or your identity? This is the episode about the day the call actually came down. I'm at my kitchen counter with a fresh coffee, hopping on a normal weekly UX sync, when my manager announces the entire product team is moving to a 100% AI workflow by the end of the month. And by the way, the Figma license is getting cut. No debate, no “what does everyone think.” The decision was made in a room I wasn't in, then delivered to a room full of designers who had about a month to deal with it.I do two things in this one. First, I try to be fair to the decision, because it deserves it. I get into the cost math leadership was staring at in early 2026, the pricing question Bob Baxley raised after I posted about the switch, and why ripping the band-aid off with a brutally short deadline was probably the right move and not the reckless one it felt like. Then I tell you the less flattering half: what was actually going through my head in that meeting. Spoiler, not one of those thoughts was about our users or the work. Every single one was about me, my title, and whether being “the person who knows Figma best” was ever a real skill to begin with.I also get into the part nobody sat us down to talk about, which is that these tools blur the lines between design, engineering, and product in every direction at once, and introduce the “in the loop, on the loop, out of the loop” question that runs through the rest of the season. If your company hasn't had this meeting yet, I'd gently suggest not assuming it isn't coming. Give this one a listen, then let me know about your own version of the kitchen counter moment.Topics:• 0:00 The day they cut our Figma license• 3:00 The cost play: why pay for two tools?• 4:05 Not my call: where I sit in the org• 4:50 Nobody said "adapt or quit" (the soft mandate)• 5:30 The fair case, and Bob Baxley's pricing question• 7:15 Ripping the Band-Aid: off the dock, into the boat• 8:40 What was really in my head: "just UI engineers now?"• 9:45 Kevin the plumber• 10:50 Watching a decade of skill depreciate• 11:50 How remote teams process shock• 13:10 Does engineering even want us in the code?• 14:00 Every role blurs at once• 15:10 The walk• 15:55 In the loop, on the loop, out of the loop• 17:10 Next time: what we traded away—Thanks for listening! Some people just make us feel calm. You call them when you're upset, you love being in their presence, and you keep going back for their advice because they feel so wise and so joyful to be around. If those are your people, you're going to love my conversation with Charlotte Jukes. She's one of my favorite people to be with, and there's so much going on right now that a lot of us could use a little of that. I'm sitting down with Charlotte Jukes, an ICM Mastery Method coach, former registered nurse, and host of the Pickleball & Partnership podcast. I've spent VIP days with her, and I've watched her manage massive rooms on Zoom. The second she starts speaking, she calms and soothes everyone and brings us all back home to what actually matters. Charlotte spent 37 years as a nurse, and now she coaches people, mostly women, using nervous system and somatic work. When I asked Charlotte what she thinks is the most meaningful shift someone can make, she gave me two words: permission and compassion. We talk about what it looks like to give yourself permission, why so many of us hand out compassion to everyone but ourselves, and how she got to both in her own life.   WHAT YOU'LL LEARN The simple Band-Aid practice Charlotte uses to show what "somatic" means, and why she says the body holds the wisdom Why Charlotte says she feels her calling in her gut, and what she does when she doesn't know the how or the why What happened when she heard "do the safe thing" as a teenager, and how she balances her grounded side with her curious, adventurous one Why she tested nervous system work on herself before she taught it, and how staying calm changes the energy of a room, even in a crisis The story of what turned out to be her last day as a nurse, and how it taught her she could give herself compassion How pickleball became one of her best teachers in play, laughing at yourself, and noticing what triggers you   CHARLOTTE'S GIFT TO YOU As her gift to Girlfriends, Charlotte is offering a Complimentary Clarity Call. Sis, if you overthink and overanalyze every choice — what do I eat next, when can I eat, is this the right thing to eat?  — and you wonder if you'll ever escape the nonsense, this episode is for you. Today I'm sharing one of my very favorite recovery tools for the woman stuck in analysis paralysis, self-sabotage, and perfectionism. Because here's the thing — waiting to feel 100% certain before you act is exactly what's keeping you stuck. And the eating disorder loves it that way. Let me show you a better way to decide. First, a word on purpose Before I get into the tool, I have to share the devotional that lit a fire in me this morning: purpose is more about realignment than achievement. You are a workmanship, created in His image and for His purpose — and your identity is found in your design, not in your passions or your resume. How you see yourself will determine what you see for yourself. So often it's your past — the ups and the downs — that blocks you from believing your potential. And that's directly linked to today's tool, because when you don't believe something is for you, you block your own ability to act on it. The tool: you don't need 100% — just 51% Here's the whole thing, and it's beautifully simple: you never need to be 100% sure about a decision. You just need to be 51% sure — slightly more convinced it's the right choice than not. I call it a "rule," but honestly, sis? It's the opposite of a rule. You're a perfectionist drowning in food rules and shoulds already — this is the one that sets you free from needing to be perfectly certain. Think of it as permission. Because total certainty is rare, and waiting to feel fully confident is what's keeping you from living. The eating disorder demands 100% (hello, Queen of Perfection) — and that demand creates paralysis. Recovery doesn't require perfect confidence. It just requires the next step. And God can't bless the actions you don't take. How to apply it — 3 steps 1. Acknowledge the uncertainty. Feeling uncertain is normal — you're about to do something brave, and brave is scary. Not knowing what to eat next or what your body needs doesn't make you a failure. You don't need all the answers. The assignment is just to go. 2. Listen to your recovery voice. Ask: What would my recovered self do? What aligns with where I'm headed? What would my support circle tell me to do? (And if you don't have a strong circle yet — sis, you can't do this alone. Come find one.) I tell my clients: if you won't grant yourself permission, take mine. 3. Make the 51% choice now. No delaying. If your recovery voice is even slightly louder than the eating disorder voice, that's enough. Lean in. Trust that 51% sure is enough to move. What 51% looks like in real life The snack: You're not 100% ready, but you're 51% convinced it supports your health. That's enough. What's in the pantry? Let's go. Getting support: You've thought about coaching off and on — maybe she could help me. If you're leaning toward even the idea, that's 51%. That's enough to take action. The dinner out: You don't know if you're ready for the Mexican restaurant with friends — but a small part of you knows isolation won't serve your recovery. That small part is the 51%. That's enough to say yes. Why it works: you're building evidence Every 51% decision in favor of your recovery does something powerful — you build evidence in your brain that you can trust yourself. Your true voice gets louder. The eating disorder voice gets quieter, because you're no longer taking its orders. You create real momentum for healing (not a Band-Aid on a bullet hole), and you practice flexibility over perfectionism. You get to be Queen Flexibility. Queen Spontaneity. You do not have to be Queen Perfection. And when the percentages feel really close and you still aren't sure? Celebrate making the decision at all — focus on the process of deciding, not the result. Treat each choice as an experiment and a learning opportunity. Recovery isn't about being 100%. It's about being brave enough to choose you — one 51% decision at a time. A few lines from the episode "You don't need to be completely sure. You just need to be sure enough." "The eating disorder demands 100% — and that demand creates paralysis." "If you won't grant yourself permission, take mine." "Every 51% decision builds evidence in your brain that you can trust yourself." "You can be Queen Flexibility. You do not have to be Queen Perfection." "God can't bless the actions you don't take." Your assignment this week Notice the moments where you can apply it. When a decision comes up, ask: Am I 51% convinced this supports the direction I want to live? Am I 51% convinced this supports my recovery? If yes — step forward. Messy, sloppy, "I don't know" action all counts. The point is to move. Ready for a circle that helps you decide? You were never meant to do this alone — and having support makes every one of these decisions easier. Connect with Lindsey:

Last week, we talked about following your complaints like breadcrumbs...Looking beyond the surface problem to understand what might actually be asking for healing underneath. But once you find the source… how do you actually heal it?For years, my own approach looked a little like throwing spaghetti at the wall.A few therapy sessions. Some yoga. Meditation. Self-care. Then something else. And while many of those things helped, the relief was often temporary. They were Band-Aids.I eventually realized that lasting healing requires us to work with more than one part of ourselves. So in this week's episode, I'm sharing the framework that came out of that journey: Mind, Body, and Love. We'll look at healing the emotional wounds and protective patterns held in the mind, working with the nervous system and the reactions held in the body, and finally bringing that greater sense of safety into our relationships.Because healing isn't just about understanding why you are the way you are. It's about creating change that reaches deep enough that you don't have to keep returning to the same Band-Aids.Episode Timestamps02:56 — Why I call this “No More Band-Aids” 05:08 — Is permanent healing actually possible? 07:06 — The three ingredients: Mind, Body & Love 08:54 — IFS: protectors, exiles & your Self 13:27 — Accessing the calm, steady part of yourself 14:18 — The body: polyvagal theory & somatic work 17:13 — Why relationships are essential to healing 19:23 — Authentic communication: truth AND connection 20:57 — Why all three pieces matterYou don't have to spend your life endlessly managing the same patterns.Deeper healing is possible. And now...Want to go deeper? This Mind–Body–Love approach is also at the heart of the work we do inside Untriggerable. We don't just teach you how to manage a trigger when it happens. Seventy percent of Americans are overweight or obese because of what the food industry has done to our food supply. And the solution the medical industry is now selling is a drug that suppresses the appetite for the food that is still being made and sold and eaten. The wound is being bandaged. The source of the wound is untouched. Dr. Josh Levitt is a naturopathic physician with 25 years of clinical experience, the co-founder of UpWellness, and one of the most grounded integrative voices in medicine. This conversation covers the big food and big pharma racket, the Nova food classification system, what real food actually looks like, the emotional roots of physical disease, and why dogma on both sides of medicine is killing people. Dr. Josh Levitt's health takes — in order: Take 1: "There is a racket going on between big food and big pharma" Dr. Levitt lays out the cognitive dissonance at the heart of modern medicine. The drugs that suppress appetite are genuinely effective, and they are also a band-aid placed over a wound created by the same economic system that has no incentive to heal it. Take 2: "Balance is a fallacy" Health is not a static destination. Dr. Levitt uses his background as a surfer to explain why people who are good at balance are actually good at the active management of imbalance, and why that reframe changes everything about how you approach the ups and downs of your own health. Take 3: "I have seen people die on the hill of dogma" This is the take most people on both sides of medicine do not want to hear. Dr. Levitt makes the case that extreme conviction in either direction, whether it is that all natural medicine is quackery or that all conventional medicine is poison, has genuinely cost people their lives. Take 4: "I wish people didn't need the supplements I make" Dr. Levitt closes with the most honest take of the episode. He explains why supplements are a tool that help people earn back a sliver of faith in their body's ability to heal, and why the real goal is a world where most of what he sells becomes unnecessary. We have all the technology. We should be crushing it. We are not. **The City's Water Crisis: A Recipe for Disaster** This episode is a must-listen for anyone concerned about the state of our city's infrastructure and the devastating consequences of bureaucratic incompetence. The speaker takes a hard look at the recent water crisis in the Palisades, where a preventable fire ravaged homes and left residents without access to basic necessities. But this is not an isolated incident - it's a symptom of a larger problem that affects us all. The city's water management system is a disaster waiting to happen, with reservoirs drained and fire hydrants running dry. The speaker delves into the details of the Palisades fire, where a rubber hose was used as a makeshift solution to transport water through six miles of flammable brush. It's a Band-Aid on a bullet wound, and the consequences are dire. The city's negligence is staggering, with a reservoir drained for a year and a half due to a preventable tear in a tarp. The speaker also touches on the city's history of neglecting infrastructure, from the water main break on Sunset Boulevard to the deferred maintenance of the LADWP. It's a pattern of behavior that's all too familiar, with the city's leaders more concerned with saving face than with taking responsibility for their actions. The speaker highlights the city's lack of accountability, from the lawsuit filed against the LADWP to the city's decision to hire high-priced lawyers to defend against it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode we chat to Johann Dias, CEO of URSA Mining to discuss how autonomy and artificial intelligence are changing the mining industry.   We explore where the technology is delivering real value versus the hype, what mining companies need to consider before adopting autonomous systems, and how executives can manage the risks involved.   We also look at the impact on people and skills, whether technology can help mining attract the next generation of talent, and ultimately, what the mine of the future could look like ten years from now KEY TAKEAWAYS Autonomy delivers the greatest value when applied to simple, repetitive, low-variance tasks rather than attempting to solve every operational challenge at once. Mining operations can lower adoption risk by starting with safe, low-impact test sites before rolling out autonomous tech to high-pressure production zones. Attracting the next generation of mining talent relies on offering hands-on responsibility with emerging technologies rather than treating tech as a corporate afterthought. The mine of the future will increasingly shift toward remote digital command centers, improving safety by drastically reducing the number of personnel required on-site. BEST MOMENTS "Digitization creates visibility, AI creates efficiency, and autonomy leverages visibility to compound efficiency." "Technology is really a tool, it is not a Band-Aid to solve deeper problems that can exist within the operation, but when implemented correctly, the upside can be absolutely massive." "Hype cycle is saying that autonomy can do everything and anything all the time, and the grounded, much more pragmatic approach is to look at it from the sense of: where are our simplest tasks coming from, and can we put a machine on those tasks to perform it itself?" "I envision the mines of the future to be run from command centers much like that Hoth base, where you can observe all the activity happening in real time." On this special 9/11 edition of What's On Your Mind, Scott Hennen hosts a reflective, multi-faceted discussion on the legacy of September 11, 2025. A quarter-century after the attacks, the episode tackles a provocative question: Is it time to transition 9/11 commemorations from a national shutdown into a day of resolute remembrance, akin to Pearl Harbor Day? Featuring key perspectives from former White House advisor Mark Pfeifle and former North Dakota Adjutant General Mike Haugen, the show explores everything from the mechanics of air defense on that fateful day to current foreign policy challenges in Iran, ongoing political divisions, and the future of American national security. Standout Moments & Timestamps — The Question of the Day: Time to Change How We Remember 9/11? Scott introduces a controversial premise: After 25 years, should the country stop "ripping open the Band-Aid" every September 11 and instead treat it like Pearl Harbor Day—honoring the fallen without bringing the entire nation to a halt? — Inside Ground Zero & Media Echo Chambers North Dakota native and former White House communications strategist Mark Pfeifle shares his firsthand experiences at Ground Zero following the attacks. He and Scott discuss how media consumption shifted from unifying nightly family broadcasts to isolated, hyper-partisan social media channels. — Rethinking 25 Years of Airport Security & National Debt Scott and Mark question why TSA policies remain rigid and inconsistent 25 years later when modern threats have evolved into cyber warfare and autopilot hacking. Mark highlights the burden of America's $40 trillion national debt and the need for structural efficiency. — Economic Warfare and the Foreign Policy Dilemma in Iran The conversation shifts to modern geopolitical pressure points, specifically Iran, rising gas prices, and how economic sanctions and domestic inflation impact current American politics and leadership strategy. — Scrambling the Happy Hooligans: F-16s Over the Pentagon General Mike Haugen (Ret.) delivers a thrilling historical account of North Dakota's Happy Hooligans Air National Guard unit being uniquely scrambled—three armed F-16 jets taking off supersonic from Langley to establish a defensive Combat Air Patrol (CAP) over a burning Pentagon. — Debunking the Flight 93 Missile Rumors General Haugen sets the record straight regarding post-9/11 conspiracy theories, confirming via strict weapon serial-number logs that no military aircraft fired missiles or guns on Flight 93—and details the desperate plans unarmed backup pilots had to intercept rogue airliners. — Replaying History: George W. In 2025, he wrote and directed the 9th episode of the re-launched Beatles Anthology documentary series, quickly followed by the short film, “Free As A Bird” – A Song Reborn. But Oliver has also directed a number of other music videos and documentaries you may have seen, among them The Quiet One (2019), Ronnie's (2020), They All Came Out To Montreux (2023), and The Story of Band Aid (2024). I was privileged to have a talk with an insider to discuss the presenting of The Beatles' story and the delicate balancing act between educating new fans while satisfying the old ones. Most machine shops start thinking seriously about workforce development when they already need someone. A machinist quits, capacity jumps, the backlog grows, and suddenly finding skilled people becomes an emergency. MSP Manufacturing has taken a very different approach. Johnny Goode joins Paul and Brooke to explain how MSP has spent years building relationships with high schools, apprenticeship programs, students, parents, and the broader manufacturing community. Now, as the company experiences more than 50% revenue growth, that investment is starting to pay off. We dig into ROI Uplands, a regional program connecting high school students with real employers, and what it actually looks like to bring 16- and 17-year-olds into a working machine shop. Can apprentices contribute meaningfully in an environment where quality, safety, and precision matter? How much training does it take? And what happens to your culture when young people become a regular part of the team? We also get into the bigger problem facing manufacturing: many students and their parents still have no idea what these careers actually look like. Johnny, Paul, and Brooke talk about the earning potential hiding inside modern manufacturing, why exposure needs to start long before graduation, and what shops can do to help create the next generation of machinists instead of waiting for someone else to do it. One of the most common pieces of relationship advice is, “You just need more date nights.” But what if you're already spending plenty of time together and still feel disconnected? Dinner, vacations, concerts, movies, and weekends away can all be fun, but simply being in the same place doesn't automatically create connection. In this episode, Kimberly and Roberto explore the difference between spending time together and actually connecting, why date nights can sometimes become a Band-Aid for deeper relationship issues, and what creates the emotional intimacy and presence couples are really craving. In This Episode, We Cover: why spending time together isn't necessarily connection how date nights can become a distraction from deeper relationship issues why presence is essential for emotional connection why connection should be a daily practice instead of a weekly event how we create connection in our everyday relationship why connection with your partner begins with connection to yourself Ready to Go Deeper? If you're spending plenty of time together but still feeling disconnected, this is exactly the kind of work we explore inside our Couples Retreats. When should you feed your honey bees—and when is feeding simply masking another problem? In this Honey Bee Obscura Archive Special, we revisit a conversation between Jim Tew and the late Kim Flottum about one of beekeeping's perennial fall questions: fall feeding of colonies in preparation for winter. Kim and Jim begin with a deceptively simple question: Why are you feeding? A colony may need supplemental food because of poor forage, unfavorable weather, a newly created split, inadequate stores, or another management decision. But feeding can also become what Jim calls a "management Band-Aid"—something that helps a colony through a temporary shortage without addressing why it became short on stores in the first place. From there, they tackle the practical questions. What should you feed? Thin or thick sugar syrup? Fondant? Dry granulated sugar? And with entrance feeders, top feeders, division-board feeders, and other options available, is there really one "best" method? For northern beekeepers preparing colonies for winter, Jim and Kim discuss the amount of stored honey they historically looked for and an old but useful technique: weighing or "hefting" a hive to estimate its stores. They explain why learning what a properly provisioned hive feels like can help a beekeeper decide whether intervention is necessary. Most importantly, they emphasize that meaningful fall feeding can require a significant commitment. Bringing an underweight colony up to adequate winter stores may require gallons of syrup—not simply feeding once and assuming the problem is solved. The takeaway is classic Jim and Kim: feed when you need to, understand why you need to, and stop when the colony has what it needs. ______________________ Thanks to Betterbee for sponsoring today's episode. In the mid-1980s, global charity supergroups like Band Aid and U.S.A. for Africa dominated international headlines, raising tens of millions of dollars to combat severe famine in Ethiopia. Yet, despite heavy metal's massive commercial dominance, hard rock and metal musicians were noticeably excluded from pop-centric relief efforts. In this episode of Riff Worship, we break down how Dio guitarist Vivian Campbell, bassist Jimmy Bain, and legendary frontman Ronnie James Dio decided to take action, recruiting over 40 hard rock and metal icons to create their own charitable anthem: "Stars" under the collective name Hear 'n Aid.From the geopolitics and internal conflicts surrounding the 1983–1985 Ethiopian famine to the behind-the-scenes madness at Hollywood's A&M Studios, we explore the full story behind metal's most ambitious collaboration. In this episode, we'll discuss:The Ethiopian Famine: The political, economic, and military factors under Mengistu Haile Mariam's Derg regime that compounded the crisis.Pop Philanthropy vs. Metal Stigma: How media controversy, PMRC hearings, and "Satanic Panic" left metal out of Band Aid and Live Aid. I was particularly excited to sit down with one of my long term colleagues, psychiatrist Dr. James Greenblatt for an exploration of his new book "Finally Hopeful subtitle". Dr. Greenblatt is one of the pioneers of functional and integrative psychiatry, and it's his fourth interview with the MindHealth360 Show. His first three were about suicide, ADHD and Eating Disorders. This one was about the biological root causes of depression – and why identifying them could fundamentally change the way we diagnose and treat mental illness. Dr. Greenblatt argues that depression is not one uniform condition: ten people with the same diagnosis may have ten different underlying drivers. From vitamin D and B12 deficiencies, amino acids, thyroid and hormone imbalances, to low cholesterol, impaired digestion and chronic infections, he explains why common and measurable biological factors can contribute to depressive symptoms – and why testing for root causes should often come before treatment. But this is not a conversation about replacing antidepressants with supplements. Dr. Greenblatt is equally critical of functional medicine approaches that focus on tests and large supplement protocols without understanding the individual patient. We explore his mantra to "treat patients, not tests", and examine why trauma and chronic stress can impair digestion and nutrient absorption, and why nervous-system regulation, and an understanding of psycho-social factors and relationships must sit alongside biochemical treatment. In this episode, you'll learn: Why ten people with depression may have ten completely different underlying causes. Why clinicians should investigate factors including thyroid function, iron, B12, zinc and vitamin D before automatically reaching for an antidepressant. Why vitamin D deficiency is associated with depression, anxiety and suicide risk – and why testing matters more than simply giving everyone vitamin D. How trauma and chronic stress can suppress stomach acid and digestion, leaving people low in amino acids even when they eat adequate protein. Why commonly accepted B12 "normal" ranges may miss deficiencies relevant to brain and mental health. Why very low cholesterol levels may be an overlooked biological factor in depression, addiction and suicide risk. What new research tells us about lithium orotate and brain health, and why lithium is being reconsidered by mainstream psychiatry. Why "treat patients, not tests" has become one of Dr. Greenblatt's central principles – and why more supplements do not necessarily mean better treatment. Why he considers somatic therapies particularly important for patients whose stress and trauma are held in the body. Why ketogenic diets and psychedelics can be powerful tools, but may still become sophisticated "Band-Aids" if basic biological deficiencies are overlooked. Take the conversation further at IMMH 2026 At this year's Integrative Medicine for Mental Health (IMMH) Conference, Dr. James Greenblatt will take several of the ideas explored in this episode into greater clinical depth across two sessions: Amino Acids as Precursors for Neurotransmitters – exploring how amino acid deficiencies can affect neurotransmitter production, and how targeted testing and repletion may support more personalised approaches to depression. Functional Medicine for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder – examining evidence-based nutritional approaches to OCD, including inositol, NAC and 5-HTP, alongside nutrigenomic testing to inform individualised treatment. Join Dr. Greenblatt and more than 50 leading clinicians, researchers and thought leaders at IMMH 2026, October 8–11 in San Diego. Taylor Maichak, a forensic scientist with Idaho State Police Forensic Services, was expected to testify about DNA testing she performed on evidence gathered during the investigation, including a group of everyday items seized from the Kohberger family home in Pennsylvania. Those items included a Band-Aid, drinking straws, earplugs, lollipop sticks, nail clippers, a flosser, a Q-tip-style swab, coffee and water bottles. Maichak generated DNA profiles from several of those items and identified an unknown male profile from the Q-tip-style swab. She then compared that profile with the unidentified male DNA that had previously been recovered from the knife sheath found at the murder scene. Her analysis concluded that the Pennsylvania male was not the source of the sheath DNA, but that he could not be excluded as the biological father of the man whose DNA was on the sheath. The statistical calculation was extremely strong: at least 99.9998 percent of the male population would have been excluded as the possible father.Maichak also would have helped explain the much broader DNA work investigators performed as they attempted to identify or eliminate other people whose biological material appeared on evidence associated with the King Road house. Her reports documented comparisons involving numerous reference samples and unidentified DNA profiles recovered from various items, showing that the male profile obtained in Pennsylvania was excluded from several other DNA mixtures and unknown-male profiles found during the investigation. That distinction was important because her testimony would not simply have told jurors that DNA existed at the scene; it would have walked them through the process investigators used to separate unrelated DNA from the specific male profile recovered from the knife sheath. In practical terms, Maichak's evidence would have provided an early forensic bridge between the sheath DNA and Kohberger's family before investigators later obtained a direct reference sample from Kohberger himself, while also demonstrating that investigators had tested and compared other unidentified biological material rather than automatically attributing every unknown DNA profile to him.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:030326+REDACTED+Exhibits+S-1+through+S-13+to+States+Amended+Supp+Resp+to+Rqst+for+Disc+RE+Expert+Testimony.pdf

You've been adjusted more times than you can count, and you're still dealing with the same pain. That's because adjustments were never the whole answer. In this episode, Dr. Arneka breaks down the three biggest reasons traditional chiropractic keeps patients stuck in a cycle of pain and relief, and why the model itself is failing them. The first problem is fear. The X-ray, the scan, the "your spine is jacked up." It's designed to scare you into treatment, then chase the symptom instead of the cause. The second problem is what's missing: real rehab. You get adjusted and you're out in ten minutes, with no one teaching you how to move, brace, or train your body so the pain doesn't just reset. The third and most overlooked failure is that there's no plan. No progression, no strength roadmap, nothing to build your own autonomy. At best you get a stretch sheet on your way out, and you still don't know what's actually causing the pain because no one assessed the root cause. Getting adjusted isn't a plan. A missed delivery in a public health supply chain is never just a logistics problem. It can mean a child misses a vaccine, a patient goes without treatment, or an entire community loses trust in its healthcare system. In this episode of Supply Chain Now, Scott W. Luton welcomes Don Hicks, CEO of Optilogic, and Taylor Wilkerson, Executive Director of Design for Life, for a powerful conversation about using supply chain design to help more people access essential medicines. Don and Taylor explain why many public health supply chains face the same complexity as the world's largest commercial networks, but must operate with far fewer resources, limited infrastructure, and consequences measured in human lives rather than profit. Taylor shares how outdated systems, manual processes, and limited visibility can prevent medicine from reaching the communities that need it most, while Don explains why managing the existing network is not enough. Meaningful progress requires redesigning the system itself. The conversation explores why resilient supply chains must be built before a crisis hits. Taylor explains how better data, flexible networks, and stronger design can help healthcare systems respond to outbreaks and demand surges. He also shows how a single stockout can lead to missed care, greater health risks, and lost trust. The medicine may cost pennies. The real challenge is getting it to the right people at the right time. Don and Taylor also talk about how AI can make advanced supply chain tools more accessible. Local health leaders could ask questions in plain language, test scenarios, and make faster decisions without relying on outside consultants. By putting planning and optimization tools in the hands of the people closest to the problem, Design for Life aims to improve healthcare access and save lives. Welcome to Episode 301 of The Rizzuto Show, where today's funny podcast begins with the simple question every coworker wants to hear first thing in the morning: “What's wrong with your face?”Rizz shows up sporting a mysterious bandage under his eye, so naturally Lern, Moon and Rafe respond with compassion, maturity and absolutely none of the above. After theories involving shaving accidents, discount Nelly cosplay and possible violence, Rizz reveals what actually happened: he went to the dermatologist expecting to have a skin tag removed. Instead, the doctor took one look under magnification, decided it needed a closer look, removed it and sent it off for a biopsy. So obviously the show handles this delicate situation with dignity.Just kidding. Within minutes we're discussing solidarity Band-Aids, ribbons, Aquaphor, garlic carcinoma and whether Rizz can technically start calling himself a survivor. Nothing brings friends together quite like an unexpected medical procedure and the immediate weaponization of it for content. That somehow sends us into CPR, new-parent panic and the revelation that properly installing a child car seat apparently requires more training than anyone in the room expected. A firefighter calls in, Scott gets some actual useful information, and Rizz remembers the time his son started choking on bacon — prompting Dad Instinct Rizz to spring into action before apparently returning to his omelet like he'd just completed a minor household chore.Lern has also researched emergency procedures for cats, because of course she has. Then Lern returns from Table Rock Lake and the crew settles an important semantic argument: was this a “vacation” or merely a “trip”? Her family getaway included Table Rock, Top of the Rock, an expensive golf-cart cave tour, fake rocks, Branson energy, a canned cave cocktail and enough nickel-and-diming to make you wonder if the scenery charges a convenience fee.The review? Roughly three out of five stars. Nature: beautiful. Family bonding: great. Branson sneaking into the cave like it owns the place: inevitable. The technology portion of today's funny podcast begins when we discover apparently nobody knows how to go anywhere without GPS anymore. After a phone dies around Belleville, getting home becomes a heroic expedition involving memory, highway signs and the ancient navigation technique known as “I think this road eventually hits 270.”That leads perfectly into “popcorn brain,” the term for what happens when our attention starts bouncing between notifications, videos, headlines and entertainment like somebody dumped a bucket of mental popcorn into our skulls. Rizz has watched it happen with his kids, Rafe admits it happens to him during the show, and suddenly everybody realizes this isn't just a teenager problem. We're all cooked.Rafe also celebrates his 3,000th comedy set, which is legitimately impressive and therefore cannot be discussed for long without everyone confusing Mr. 3000 with Mr. Baseball. Congratulations, Rafe. Three thousand performances and you're still voluntarily sitting in this studio. Incredible commitment. Questionable judgment. Finally, St. Louis summer enters the chat. With heat indexes soaring and fall sports practices underway, the crew gets into wet-bulb temperatures, football conditioning, old-school two-a-days, water breaks, marching-band misery and whether parents should make kids finish what they start or accept when something simply isn't for them. Naturally this evolves into expensive travel sports, cheer schedules, obscure athletic scholarships and perhaps the greatest college strategy ever conceived: pick the sport nobody else wants to do.Pole vault your way to financial freedom, kids. It's skin tags, parenting panic, family vacations, technology dependence, short attention spans, youth sports and enough unrelated detours to prove that “popcorn brain” may actually be the official operating system of The Rizzuto Show.Another perfectly normal funny podcast from people who absolutely had a plan when the microphones turned on.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Congratulations, Rafe. Three thousand performances and you're still voluntarily sitting in this studio. Incredible commitment. Questionable judgment.A St. Louis story that's bizarre for all the wrong reasons: a regional Amber Alert, a supposedly stolen Dodge Charger and a missing child who investigators ultimately determined had never been inside the vehicle. The crew gets into the false report, the massive police response it triggered and the uncomfortable fact that this wasn't the first high-profile false child-abduction report the area has dealt with recently. You'd think we'd stay serious after that. You must be new here.Moon finally saw The Odyssey in IMAX, which means it's time for a completely reasonable film review that immediately becomes a referendum on whether human beings still know how to behave inside a movie theater. Talking, climbing over people, premium ticket prices and seats close enough to the screen to personally inspect Tom Holland's pores—moviegoing truly is magical. Then comes an argument guaranteed to make somebody angrily talk to their dashboard: which bands followed a killer debut album with a disappointing sophomore effort? Guns N' Roses, Garbage, Weezer, Bush, Hootie and the Blowfish, Boston, The Darkness, The Strokes, Meat Loaf and Vanilla Ice all enter the conversation, and not everybody leaves with their dignity. Moon also brings an actual musician's perspective to why that second album can be such a nightmare when your first record becomes a hit. Welcome to our funny podcast, where suddenly we're discussing artistic pressure like responsible adults before immediately ruining it.Crap on Celebrities arrives carrying the usual bag of entertainment nonsense. Geddy Lee has a strange encounter with a bird that raises questions about Neil Peart and spiritual visits. Josh Homme reportedly gets expensive while looking irritatingly cool doing it. The crew digs into the renewed conversation surrounding Hilary Duff's teenage relationship with Joel Madden, along with other music and celebrity stories. Then things somehow expand to burglary, stolen treasure and grudges. There's celebrity break-in news, plus Rizz's firsthand visit to the Louvre room connected to an enormous jewel heist—which naturally leads to the discovery that museum security apparently has some surprisingly Walgreens-adjacent rules about chasing people. The show also gets into Jon Hamm, Matthew Lillard facing a fan who held onto a grievance for years, Hollywood's biggest directors and a debate over the greatest movie sequels ever made. Terminator 2, Aliens, The Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight, The Godfather Part II and even Paddington 2 get dragged into the arena because this funny podcast respects cinema almost as much as it respects wasting everyone's time. And then suburbia gets interesting.Emily and Nathan from Double Lives of Suburban Wives join The Rizzuto Show to talk about the St. Louis-based reality series centered on women balancing suburban family life with major success creating digital adult content. It's the kind of premise that makes you realize the person standing next to you at soccer practice may have a considerably more interesting LinkedIn than you do.They were looking for an extra $150–$300 a month for groceries… and somehow that turned into hundreds of thousands of dollars, reality TV, and a conversation about monster toys before most people finished their morning coffee.Emily and Nathan from TLC's Double Lives of Suburban Wives join The Rizzuto Show, and we have approximately 47 questions — several of which probably should not be asked before lunch.Emily's story starts in a place a lot of families know all too well: trying to make the bills work. She and Nathan were working opposite shifts to avoid daycare costs, running a woodworking business, and looking for a way to bring in an extra $150–$300 a month.Nothing crazy. Just grocery money. Then Nathan floated the idea of Emily making adult content.Fast-forward four years, and “grocery money” has become a full-blown business spread across multiple platforms. Emily explains how she started cautiously, why showing a real body with stretch marks and cellulite mattered to her, and how one of her earliest subscribers turned out to be what the industry calls a “whale.”Emily and Nathan also explain why they decided to put their lives on TLC's Double Lives of Suburban Wives, what it's like having cameras follow them around the St. Louis area, and why they haven't experienced the massive hometown backlash some people might expect. The conversation gets more serious as Emily discusses body positivity, the stigma surrounding mothers who create adult content, and how she and Nathan have handled conversations about their work with their family. Their position is pretty simple: they're happy, safe, providing for their family, and not particularly interested in living according to somebody else's expectations.Which is probably healthier than reading the comments section. Nobody has ever emerged from there improved. Then we get into the reality-TV side of things.Emily admits the women featured on Double Lives of Suburban Wives aren't necessarily one giant happy friend group. Different personalities, different levels of success, different struggles and — because television producers enjoy remaining employed — plenty of drama. Is some of it ego-driven? Is there competition? What happens when someone enters an already selective group? And could a second season crank things up even further?Emily gives us a glimpse without spoiling the show, while Nathan delivers perhaps the most efficient response to critics imaginable: if people don't approve of the business, maybe they should tell their husbands to stop subscribing. The conversation also covers how creating content changed Emily and Nathan's relationship, whether their views on monogamy have evolved, the truly astonishing variety of things people will pay to see online, and whether Rafe or Lern could theoretically find their own bizarre niche. From woodworking and reptile shows to reality television, body positivity, internet entrepreneurship, suburban gossip and some VERY specific customer requests, this funny podcast is essentially the American dream after somebody accidentally left the parental controls off.And underneath all the jokes is a surprisingly interesting conversation about money, marriage, judgment, family and what “normal” actually looks like when your side hustle becomes more successful than anybody expected.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod. ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 15) A suspicious Lorelai catches Jess in Rory's room and accuses him of stealing a bracelet and Luke impulsively decides to buy the building where he lives. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 15) February 26, 2002 | The WB CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 15) Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore BRAN'S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 15) SYNOPSIS Lorelai was cleaning her gutters when she hurt her hand. She slapped a Band-Aid on it and refuses to go to the doctor. They get to Luke's, but Luke is nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, Caesar is cooking. So Lorelai heads upstairs to check on Luke and encourage him to come down and make them pancakes. The place is a mess because Jess's mom finally sent the rest of his stuff, and now Luke can't find his supply ledger. Lorelai finds it and holds it hostage until he comes downstairs to make the pancakes. That night, Lorelai and Rory are walking to get supplies for movie night. They pass Luke's and see him sitting there alone, sadly drinking a beer and watching TV on his tiny television. He just needs some space from Jess. Lorelai encourages him to get a bigger apartment, but Luke isn't having it. Instead, he asks if Jess could clean Lorelai's gutters for her. Lorelai doesn't say yes right away, but on the walk home Rory says, "I thought you were going to give Jess a chance. You should hire him." After a little more guilt-tripping, Lorelai finally agrees. Then she asks Rory why it's so important that she like Jess. Rory comes up with an excuse, but Lorelai is wise to her. Luke heads upstairs and freaks out on Jess over the mess. He shouts, "WE'RE MOVING TOMORROW!" After looking at apartments, Jess goes to Rory's to get started on the gutters. Cool-guy Jess flips her a book when she opens the door and comments that her hair is different. Lorelai tries to make small talk with him, but he's not having it. When he goes outside, Rory follows him and asks him to try to get along with her mom. He's like, "Why?" She says, "If you care about me at all, you'll try." He replies, "Who says I care about you?" Classic Jess. Rory leaves to hang out with Dean at a book fundraiser. Dean is bored out of his mind. He says he wants to go see The Lord of the Rings again, which annoys Rory. Then he notices she isn't wearing the bracelet he gave her. She lies and says she took it off because of a rash and will put it back on later. In reality, she lost it... and Jess is holding it hostage. Lorelai invites Jess downstairs for lunch. At first he says no, but then he remembers what Rory asked him and decides to make an effort. Just then, Rory comes bursting through the door, freaking out because she's lost the bracelet. Luke calls Lorelai to complain about the injustices of renting. He says he needs a second opinion and asks her to come look at an apartment with him. She immediately leaves work. The apartment is really nice. Lorelai tells him, "Even if Jess goes home someday, you're still going to want this place. What if you meet someone?" She finally talks him into it... but then they discover the worst possible news: Taylor owns the building. Luke is immediately out. Taylor runs after him and says he's thinking about buying the flower shop next to the diner, but he needs Luke to take down the old hardware store sign because it confuses people. Luke says, "It was my dad's. I'm not taking it down," and storms off. Rory gets home, still upset about losing the bracelet. She talks to Jess about it, and he casually suggests she look in her room one more time. She walks in and immediately finds it under her bed. There it is. Lorelai goes outside to pay Jess for the job, but instead accuses him of stealing the bracelet because she caught him leaving Rory's room about 30 minutes before it mysteriously reappeared. Jess denies it. She says, "Don't 'whatever' me, you little jerk!"—like the uncle in Home Alone. She lectures him, saying that taking the bracelet only hurt Rory because it's the most precious thing she owns. Jess fires back, "If it's the most precious thing she owns, why did it take her two weeks to notice it was gone?" Yeah... I wouldn't start calling him "son" just yet. He storms off. Luke comes banging on the door, still fuming about Taylor. He reveals that, in a fit of blind rage, he bought the building that houses the diner. Lorelai tells him that honestly, owning the building isn't such a bad thing, and she talks him off the ledge. Before he leaves, she asks Luke if Jess ever talks to him about Rory. Luke says, "I don't know... but that would be great. She'd be such a good influence on him." Luke heads home, grabs a sledgehammer, knocks a giant hole through the apartment wall, and tells Jess... "That's your room." Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? Email bran@deckthehallmark.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
