This week's guest on this Best Of Edition of the Flipped Lifestyle Podcast is Jason Geiman of kingofpressurewash.com! When Shane Sams met Jason Geiman years ago - he had a great offline business in the greater Cincinnati area and he had built that revenue up to 7-figures. After selling that business and looking for a way to make money he discovered online business through the Flipped Lifestyle Podcast! Now, he has created a multiple 6-figure membership business. In today's episode you'll learn: How Jason built has multiple 6-figure businesses so fast (primarily focused on YouTube as a content channel) Organic growth, what is working best on YouTube right now YouTube ads (what works, what doesn't work, and how we can get better at finding new traffic) Mindset struggle to get past plateaus in your business What it's like to work with your spouses every single day as an entrepreneur Show Notes Jason started out early in his career as a mechanic. But, after several years he ended up working full-time as a fireman. On the side, while working as a fireman, he started a pressure-washing business in the greater Cincinnati area. After hard work and buckling down on the marketing side of his business - Jason grew to $1 million!   How do you get people to find you? (12:00) If you can help solve someone's problems and give detailed information that can truly help someone on the internet - someone will find you. You are always one question away from somebody giving you money: whether it is for discovering you (joining, your membership) or next month's retention.   Why did you decide to create a YouTube Channel? (20:00) Everyone knows to build an audience there are a couple of major players you can choose from: A podcast YouTube A blog Jason chose to really go in on YouTube by going LIVE twice each week and posting two tutorial videos each week. By sitting down and answering questions each week has allowed Jason Geiman to grow exponentially!   What have you learned on the other side of entrepreneurship? (48:00) First off, you never really figure everything out. You will always face mindset issues and setbacks. It's just part of the game. However, you will learn and grow A LOT! Entrepreneurship opens up doors and opportunities for you and your family that you simply would not have had access to without your online business. One of the biggest things Jason has learned? You've got to get around like-minded people to truly succeed as an entrepreneur! You truly are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time around - pick those people wisely!   What is it like to work with your wife? (1:00:00) For Jason, working with his wife brought them a lot closer - but it also has been stressful (as you can imagine)!  It is hard navigating home life while being an entrepreneur and trying to keep work boundaries separate at the same time. It is certainly difficult at times, but make sure to remind them how thankful you are for their work (especially if they work more behind the scenes) and make time for your wives apart from work!   Connect with Jason! kingofpressurewash.com  Find us on: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube Facebook Twitter The Official Flipped Lifestyle Podcast Facebook Group Join the Flip Your Life Community! Today I have a special guest, Jason Hornady of Hornady Ammunition. If you grew up hunting, in law enforcement, the military, or are a firearms enthusiast, you have definitely heard of Hornady Ammunition. Jason was introduced to me through a common friend, and it was as Jason being a recent cancer survivor. So this interview has a few different layers to it, so you will not be disappointed. And of course we talk about guns and ammo! A bit a about Hornady Ammunition: Executive leadership of the Hornady Manufacturing Company has not faltered in the firm’s first 60 years. What was created in 1949 grew sound enough and strong enough to survive the cruel blow of losing the founder 32 years later. Under Steve Hornady’s leadership, and with the active support and involvement of the Hornady family, the business has doubled, and doubled again, and doubled again. In 2006, Jason Hornady, Steve's son, returned to the company as director of sales and is currently vice president. The stature of Hornady Manufacturing Company within its industry has never been higher. Hornady Manufacturing has gone from a start-up in a small Grand Island former auto body shop to become the largest independently owned maker of bullets, ammunition, and tools in the world. That’s quite an accomplishment. It demonstrates that a great many things have been done right throughout the company’s history. It suggests as well that the future may prove just as promising. The Hornady Manufacturing Company is truly more than the sum of its employees, equipment and facilities. A visitor to Grand Island, Nebraska, can quickly discover how active the Hornady family has been in community affairs, how generous in its philanthropy, how concerned for helping others—including the larger shooting community. Topics Discussed:  * How Jason found out he had cancer  * What were the steps he took once he was diagnosed * How he recovered from surgery and went back to living his life * How a lot of people he knew have had prostate cancer, but never told him until after he was diagnosed * We discuss how in 2020 7 million new gun owners entered the market and how manufacturers are dealing with it * Why buying expensive items and overpaying during panic is always a bad idea * Why hoarding seems to be taking place today * How by you hoarding things makes it tough on everyone * What it has been like running a business during “surges” over recent years * What does the future of Ammo inventories look like and when will it return to normal Episode Resources: * Hornady’s website: https://www.hornady.com * The Simple Life Website: https://www.thesimplelifenow.com  *Make sure to signup and be a member of The Simple Life Insider's Circle at: https://www.thesimplelifenow.com/the-simple-life/

Jason Gardner is a father, homesteader, leadership instructor, and regenerative agriculture devotee who lives with his family on a remote property in the mountains of northeastern Washington State. Jason is also a retired Navy SEAL Master Chief who spent nearly thirty years in the SEAL teams and is a recipient of the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, and numerous other awards. As you’ll hear in our conversation, Jason applies the lessons learned from his years of service toward building a meaningful life for his family in the wilds of Washington-- a life lived with purpose and intention, built on a deep respect for the land. - If Jason sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the husband to Iris Gardner, who was a guest on the podcast just a few weeks ago. Given all of the wisdom that Iris shared regarding parenting and intentional living, and how fondly she spoke of Jason as a father and husband, I thought it would be fun to have Jason join me for a conversation. It was fascinating to hear Jason discuss many of the same topics that Iris and I covered, as he provided a complementary perspective on subjects including parenting, marriage, and thriving as a family in such a remote, wild region of the West. - This was a fantastic conversation, and I can’t thank Jason enough for taking the time to share his wisdom with me. We talked a lot about his military service-- from his decision as a high-schooler to join the SEALs to his long and diverse career as a SEAL leader. We also discuss his life-long love of wild, mountainous places, and why he and Iris have chosen to raise their family in northeastern Washington. We talked about how to find purpose in work, no matter what your chosen career. We discuss the idea of having a warrior’s mentality and how he applies that idea to parenting and his current career as a leadership consultant. Jason explains the dichotomy of being an elite special forces operator and gentle father and husband. Imagine driving down the highway. You look to your left, and a two-week-old calf is staring at you through the window. The person driving that calf is likely Jason Bolalek—founder of Destination Liberation. He works with dairy farmers in Vermont to surrender their male dairy cows instead of shooting them. Jason transports these calves to animal sanctuaries so they can live out their natural lives in peace. In this conversation, Jason reveals the realities of dairy farming on small, often family-run operations. Listen in, and you’ll find the truth is far different than what is portrayed on the milk carton. One of the things this whole pandemic has led us to is this craving for human connection. Just look at how your Facebook friends list has probably grown over the past year or the number of Zoom meetings you’ve attended. Indeed, there is power in human connection.  But how do we truly connect with other people? Do we bring out our authenticity, talk about our strengths, vulnerabilities – warts and all? Or do we carry this facade and hide behind a veneer because we’re too scared of being judged by other people? In today’s conversation with Jason Todd, he talks about his podcast, Coffee with Humans, which started as a social experiment around authentic human connection.  With everything happening around us today, Jason got this idea that people were descending almost into hopelessness and a lot of fear. The whole point of his podcast is that we have this facade of who we are – of this holistic self, of successes and failures, and of hopes and fears. We always live life with a veneer. But it’s okay to go deep. This is the reason Jason Todd created his podcast: to be able to provide a space for people to do that.  In this episode, you will hear: How Jason created Coffee with Humans as a social experiment Living life with a veneer, having this facade of who we truly are How the isolation has made people question what do we all have to prove Examples of some interesting conversations he has had on the show Every story is powerful if you look for it. Our actions take place first than our beliefs and our beliefs can run completely contrary to facts.   The 2 types of false humility that could be hiding behind the veneer Why people end up hiding behind their veneer (the core of this is our identity!) WE Have Cancer
Testicular Cancer and Bucking the Stigma to Improve the Survival Rate With Jason Greenspan

WE Have Cancer

Jason Greenspan joins Lee on this week’s episode of the WE Have Cancer podcast (https://wehavecancershow.com/) to talk about his personal story battling testicular cancer at a young age, and how he’s become an advocate.  Jason shares how he first found a lump and received a testicular cancer diagnosis at the age of 18. From there, Jason’s story goes into how testicular cancer impacted and ultimately shaped the relationship he has with his mother, to a world record-setting event and his efforts to bring awareness of the disease to the world. This episode is all about breaking the stigma to help improve the testicular cancer survival rate through self-exams and open discussions without fear or embarrassment. Guest biography:Jason Greenspan is the founder of National Ball Check Day and a testicular cancer survivor. Diagnosed at 18 years old after he found a lump, Jason has been through testicular cancer treatment and come out on the other side. He’s now looking to make the conversation easier and help save lives as he brings awareness of testicular cancer to the masses. Table of contents:Introduction of Jason Greenspan and the start of his story Jason talks about what went through his mind when at 18 years old, he found a lump on his testicle and got a diagnosis of testicular cancer. The difficult conversation In what’s already a difficult and perhaps embarrassing topic of conversation for a young man, Jason’s discovery was made even tougher on his mother due to his grandmother being rediagnosed with cancer of his own. How Jason’s mother coped and helped Though certainly difficult for Jason himself, he shares what his mother did to help support him through his journey -- from staying strong to taking off work for three months to take him to chemo treatments.  How testicular cancer has changed their parent-son relationship Through a shared journey has come more understanding. Jason discusses how the relationship with his mother has been positively impacted and how it’s stronger now because of what they went through together.  Going from fighter to advocate Now cancer-free for nearly eight years, Jason has turned his story into one of advocacy and awareness. Jason now tries to educate others, especially young men, about the process of going to the doctors and what to look for themselves to help diagnose early. If caught early, the testicular cancer survival rate is high. Battling the perception As a part of his advocacy, one of the biggest things Jason looks to do now is counter the notion testicular cancer is embarrassing or taboo to address. Jason talks about the reactions he personally faced from both students and faculty when trying to put together an event at his school to raise awareness of testicular cancer. (https://www.nationalballcheckday.com/) Jason helped found National Ball Check Day, which takes place on the second Tuesday of April. Designed to bring awareness to testicular cancer and show men how to self-administer a testicular cancer test, the goal is to open up the discussion. Bringing his activism elsewhere Now out of school and with his own experiences at hand, Jason has transitioned into doing events for a non-profit organization. World record Wanting to continue his legacy at school and beyond, Jason created an event that set the Guinness world record for most guys doing a testicular cancer test together. From organizing the event and keeping in contact with the former record holder to the logistics of setting a world record, Jason talks about how the idea came about and how it all happened. Testicular cancer test Why doing regular tests and talking about testicular cancer is important for everyone to think about more often. We know the importance of networking, but many of us either shy away from it or take the wrong approach. Today's guest, Jordan Harbinger, does things differently, and it shows. As a Top 50 iTunes podcast host for over 12 years, Jordan deconstructs the playbooks of the most successful people on the planet, sharing their strategies and providing practical insights. In this episode, we hear about Jordan’s podcasting journey, and how building his show from scratch for a second time showed him the true power of his network and connections. We discuss the difficulties that came with starting over, including self-doubt and being unable to compensate the team fairly, and their resolutions. Jordan also shares some of his invaluable relationship development insights. Rather than calling it networking, which he feels has been tainted by sleazy salesman, Jordan’s approach is more authentic, and it recognizes the importance of making small deposits every day. Instead of ignoring most people and only reaching out to those who are can immediately do something for you, Jordan knows that opportunities are just ‘over the horizon’, which means front of as many people’s minds as possible. We get some actionable steps as well as a teaser of his free networking course. Along with this, we also discuss current podcast numbers, why he is spending so much on his show at the moment and some of the obstacles with podcasting ads. This was a great discussion, with so many key takeaways. There’s a lot of pain in the world. There’s a lot of anger, a lot of frustration. Maybe the reason why nothing is getting solved is because we’re all approaching problems from a childish perspective. Growing as a person isn’t just about healing your present wounds. It’s about healing the child within us, and finally moving on from past pain. WELCOME TO THE DARIN OLIEN SHOW. On this podcast, you'll hear me, Darin Olien, "the superfood hunter," have inspiring and enlightening conversations with extraordinary people from all walks of life. Although our ideas and approaches to life may differ, our ultimate goal is the same- to save the planet one conversation at a time.  If you're interested in expanding your view of the world by learning new perspectives on health, nutrition, and healing the planet, and want to learn more about society's Fatal Conveniences™- the things we may be doing because the world we live in makes us believe we have to, even though they may be doing harm- then this is the podcast for you. From the outside, it seemed like Jason Garner had made it. Jason grew up with a single mom who worked three jobs just to get by. Living in a trailer, having to sell sticks of gum to buy hot lunch at school, he equated happiness with money. Like many of us, he assumed once he had money things would be so much easier. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. In high school, Jason got his first real job working at a flea market. Being able to make twice the minimum wage and overtime meant big paychecks for a teen. He worked his way up to the beer tent, where he was tasked with recruiting local bands to bring in more customers. This organic experience gave birth to a lucrative career as a concert promoter. In 2009, Jason found himself successful, rich and the CEO of an international music company. Then the death of his beloved mother sent him into a tailspin. He began to realize that the life he created was based on a lie. Money wasn’t filling the void inside.  So he decided to completely change his life. But waking up not knowing who he was anymore was terrifying. So after some listless wandering, he found a spiritual teacher and began to meditate. That’s when the healing began. In this incredibly heartfelt conversation, Jason and I get into the hard reality that we all have a lost child inside of us calling the shots. It’s only when we explore that pain and figure out how to heal that we can start guiding our life with intention. Jason tells me why he decided to write his book And I Breathed, and how it’s facilitated his journey. This is a conversation everyone can benefit from. And it definitely parallels the woes of the world right now.  Other insightful tidbits in this episode: Jason’s story of growing up in poverty Why he equated pain with not having enough money From flea market worker to the man in charge How every argument you have with an adult is actually with a child How Jason ended up on his therapist’s floor The power of meditation Why a broken heart is a perfect place to start your transformation Why you should always ask questions in the heat of the moment Links: Jason’s Website Get in touch with Jason ...And I Breathed - The Book Jason on LinkedIn Jason on Twitter Jason on Instagram Netflix' Down To Earth' Official Trailer Download Darin's amazing new lifestyle app and get 3 days free at 121Tribe.com Barukas Nuts 15% discount with code "DARIN" The Darin Olien Show is produced by the team at Must Amplify. If you’re looking to give a voice to your brand, and make sure that it’s heard by the right people, head to www.mustamplify.com/darin to see what Amplify can do for you.
