Der Flughafen wehrt sich – sie hätten für Pflichtübungen wie alle anderen Flughäfen lange diese Mittel brauchen müssen, weil es keine anderen gab. Sie würden prüfen, ob sich der Flughafen allenfalls an den Kosten für Wasserfilter in Grenzgemeinden beteiligt. Graubünden beherbergt mittlerweile 50 Prozent des schweizerischen Bestandes. Umso wichtiger, diesen zu Überwachen. Das macht das Amt für Jagd und Fischerei indem die Wälder durchkämmt und Auerhahn-Kot gesammelt wird. (00:12:40) SO: Das erste Autobahnrestaurant Auffahrt ist Reisezeit und im Stau nimmt man gerne mal eine Auszeit in einer Autobahnbeiz. Das erste echte Autobahnrestaurant wurde Ende der 60er Jahre in Gunzgen Süd gebaut. Raststätten wurden danach schnell zu beliebten Ausflugszielen. Die Wirte in der Region hatten daran nicht so grosse Freude. Trotzdem gab es im Autobahnrestaurant Tanzwettbewerbe und auch Kinder- und Seniorennachmittage. Der ehemalige Raststättenleiter erzählt Anekdoten aus der Anfangszeit der Rasttäten in der Schweiz.

In this conversation we talk with Garrett Felber about their latest book A Continuous Struggle: The Revolutionary Life of Martin Sostre.  In discussing this new political biography, we cover Sostre's ideological and political journey, history as a jailhouse lawyer, his forms of organizing practice, and the ways that people supported his campaign for freedom from political imprisonment. We talk about the influence of Great Depression era Harlem, Black and Puerto Rican Nationalism, Marxism-Leninism, national liberation movements, armed struggle, Women's Liberation, and Anarchism on Sostre's political thought and practice. Although much of what we know about Martin Sostre has to do with political letters and writings during the time of his incarceration, Felber also shares insights that few know about Sostre's life, community organizing, and institution building on the outside. Garrett Felber is an educator, writer, and organizer. They are the author of Those Who Know Don't Say: The Nation of Islam, the Black Freedom Movement, and the Carceral State, and coauthor of The Portable Malcolm X Reader, with Manning Marable. Felber is a cofounder of the abolitionist collective Study and Struggle and is currently building a radical mobile library, the Free Society People's Library, in Portland, Oregon. Yesterday we hosted Garrett Felber along with Russell Shoatz III on a livestream where we talked about some of the resonances between Martin Sostre's life, political thought, and approaches to political prisoner defense work and that of Russell “Maroon” Shoatz and we also discussed CURBfest which is expanding to the West Coast for the first time this year.  Tomorrow Thursday the 29th we will host a livestream on Sundiata Jawanza's Freedom Campaign including a quickly approaching parole hearing. Lincoln College at the University of Hull in the UK has announced that it will no longer be accepting new students onto the musical instrument craft courses at Newark School of Musical Instrument Crafts. This is the only full-time course of its kind in the whole of Ireland and the UK. The Safer Clare Campaign is to launch a petition calling for the reopening of Garda stations, an increase in Garda numbers, and expanded access to domestic violence refuge spaces. The Campaign is seeking the support of the Clare public to join the movement for safer communities. To that end, they will be visiting towns and villages throughout Clare over the coming weeks, gathering signatures in person. This one is a bit of a current events episode. We're diving into two hot topics in Army human performance:First we dig into the ongoing drama around cutting Athletic Trainers from H2F teams, including the efforts to reverse the decision. This touches on everything from contracting policy to the difference between measuring performance and measuring effectiveness. Embedded Athletic Trainers in military settings have some of the best evidence for effectiveness (including saving more money than they cost), but that's not always how decisions get made.Then we break down some of the changes from the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) to the new Army Fitness Test (AFT). Warren: Kayla McClain, 25, claims she was abused by an Ethnos360 missionary, Nate Horling, between 2005 and 2010. Her lawsuit asserts claims against Ethnos 360 for negligence, negligent training and supervision, fraud in the inducement, and vicarious liability for the alleged abuse committed by Horling. Boz Tchividjian, the attorney representing McClain, is also founder of Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment (GRACE). said in a statement to MinistryWatch.  “Once again, Ethnos360 faces a lawsuit for failing to protect a child from sexual abuse — and for its deeply inadequate response when the survivor courageously came forward,” “Our client, like far too many others, was not kept safe. But through this legal action, she is now seeking the accountability and justice that were long denied to her,” he said. Natasha: What happened? Warren: In 2005, McClain's parents served as missionaries with Ethnos360 in Indonesia after completing their missionary training. While there, Kayla McClain became acquainted with the Horlings, another missionary family living in the same housing area provided by Ethnos360. The Horlings had a daughter the same age as McClain. According to court filings, McClain often felt uncomfortable around Nate Horling, who would stroke her hair and give her prolonged full-body hugs. McClain also claims Horling showed her lewd pictures and videos of children in the Ethnos360 office while she sat on his lap and he touched her inappropriately. With the rugged beauty of Appalachia at stake, West Virginians are fighting back—demanding a transition to cleaner energy and a future that protects both people and the land they call home.A report from West Virginia Rivers Coalition and Downstream Strategies highlighted that 88% of the 139 stream crossings and 89% of the 61 wetland crossings by the MVP in West Virginia were negatively impacted, with 14 stream crossings showing severe decreases in channel stability .​In March 2025, a federal court invalidated a key water permit for the MVP, emphasizing the project's detrimental effects on West Virginia's rivers and streams. On the night of August 14, 1985, twenty-year-old Kristin O'Connell left a party in Ovid, NY to go for a walk. Two days later, her nude body was discovered near a cornfield along a rural county road; she had been stabbed in the chest and her throat was cut. The unsolved murder of Kristin O'Connell has baffled local New York investigators for decades. At the time of her murder, Kristin had traveled from Minnesota to New York to visit a young man she'd met a few months earlier while on Spring Break in Florida. According to witnesses, Kristin wasn't wearing shoes when she left the party and she wasn't carrying a purse. Several witnesses reported having seen Kristin walking that night between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am, when she was seen talking to one or possible two men in a car.
