In this week's podcast Rabbi Kohn discusses the importance of talking about the good things in our life. He brings out a lesson from the Korban Todah(The sacrifrice of thanksgiving)how the Torah focuses on speaking good and not "kvetching" about all the bad that happens to us. He also talks about the strong wording which the Torah uses when speaking to Aaron and the Kohanim(priests) and the lesson we can learn from it. Suscribe to The Practical Parsha Podcast. This is a special free bonus episode of Ball of Thread related to the hack of Donald Trump's campaign and the genuine threats to his life. To get your questions answered, support this podcast, and access all of the bonus episodes related to the series and current threats, join the Ball of Thread Patreon. ****************** Check out "Taking Out the FBI," the full episode this accompanies. Read the accompanying post on emptywheel. *********** Jim Jordan and James Comer have spent the last year and a half running their House Committees as Super PACs designed to frame the Bidens while attacking the FBI for ever having the gall to investigate Donald Trump. These efforts have mostly been ignored outside the MAGA Cinematic Universe, flaming out completely when House Republicans couldn't find the votes to impeach and effectively being rendered null by Joe Biden swiftly passing the baton to Kamala Harris. But Jordan and Comer have succeeded in a way only Marcy has seemed to notice. They have made Donald Trump less safe. The threats to Trump's life are genuine, as we saw in Butler, Pennsylvania. However, the most aggressive targeting of the former president may be from Iran. Marcy notes the Islamic Republic has been running influence operations targeting MAGA since 2020. The Intelligence Community has accessed that Iran hacked the Trump team after targeting both campaigns in 2024. In this Ball of Thread bonus, Marcy connects the attacks on the FBI covered in Episode 5 to developments of the last few weeks to unspool the hidden dangers of the backlash to the Russia investigation, which became the Twitter Files, which now may leave law enforcement hampered in the effort to contain the risks to Donald Trump.

Does this jeopardise or sideline the ability to target the younger generation of listeners? US sports documentaries seem more catered to a wider audience. Is Amazon still finding their way in this respect? Or is a cultural change in acceptable language required in Australian sport. I am an Eagles fan, and watching the series changed my perception of Adam Simpson negatively. Additionally as a Gen Y viewer I found the treatment of players, particularly Coniglio, from coaches only eroded their confidence. Are coaches out of touch with the current day player? Anyone who has played before is familiar with a spray although it is a workplace, and this behaviour wouldn't be tolerated in other fields of employment Great to hear your thoughts. The new chapter, HaZorek: Throwing an item between public and private domains; throwing an item from a private domain to another private domain, through a public domain; passing from private to privately domain, through public domain... The last there case there having been learned from the Levites practice in constructing the Mishkan (passing from wagon to wagon). Note: the Gemara explains the camp of the Levites and the "shabbat" completion of the Mishkan. Sanctifying time (Shabbat) and place (Mishkan!). Also: Bringing IN vs. Taking OUT. Which leads to avot and toladot, and incurring korban obligations, according to Rabbi Eliezer. What's What: "Nafka minah." Plus: Tzlophchad - a tzadik or deserving of the death sentence? How rabbinic midrash answers this question.

While The Motion Picture did its job of resurrecting Star Trek on the big screen, it was the second outing of Kirk and crew that really propelled the franchise forward. Nicholas Meyer, a director who was not a Trekkie, somehow “got” the very core of Star Trek and put together once of the most amazing stories ever filmed. But the road from initial idea to final cut was a lot less straightforward than the flowing narrative might suggest. In this episode ofThe Ready Room we are joined by Star Trek historian Larry Nemecek and Sociology professor John Tenuto to explore the genesis of Star Trek II, the creative choices that led to the film we know, and a wealth of behind-the-scenes information that has never been shared anywhere before. Tenuto has researched more deeply into the Nicholas Meyer archives and the life of Ricardo Montalban than perhaps anyone else in the world. In the process he uncovered the minutiae of “Space Seed” and The Wrath Khan as well as connections that indicate that Khan is indeed the villain of Star Trek Into Darkness. In news we cover new information about the Star Trek console game release date, William Shatner’s plans for a TNG documentary, three bonus features planned for the Enterprise Season One Blu-ray set, new images from Star Trek Into Darkness, J.J. Abrams making a terminally ill fan’s final dream come true, Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pine on the cover of EMPIRE, and some of the first details of this summer’s edition of the Star Trek Geek Tours. Plus, we mark the 20th anniversary of Deep Space Nine by remembering the day that “Emissary” premiered. Originally published as The Ready Room 80: Taking Out the Khan Baby.
