Most people don't fear change itself — they fear the moment before they know if they're going to be okay. And according to Dr. Jimmie Williamson, that gap between uncertainty and clarity is where organizations either hold their people together or quietly lose them. In this episode of Your Health University, Jamie sits down with Dr. Jimmie Williamson, Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Your Health, in the middle of a real organizational merger — making this conversation as timely and personal as it gets. Dr. Williamson draws on decades of clinical experience, behavioral health expertise, and his own career pivots (including leaving a 28-year career to step into healthcare) to walk us through what change actually does to the human brain and body — and what it takes to move through it well. Key topics include: Why even positive change triggers a physiological threat response — and what science says is actually happening in your brain The five stages of change people move through (shock, resistance, exploration, and beyond) and why getting stuck isn't a character flaw Dr. David Rock's SCARF model — the five psychological domains (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness) that determine whether people feel safe or threatened during transitions What leaders most commonly get wrong when communicating change — and the one mistake that always creates a narrative vacuum Why insecurity in leadership is more dangerous than the change itself The one self-care practice you can start today if you're feeling the weight of uncertainty Change is positive. It is good. And it is inevitable. This episode will help you believe that — and act like it. www.YourHealth.Org
Heads up — this is Part 2 of Jamie's conversation with Jaclyn Taylor If you haven't heard Part 1 yet, go back and start there. It sets up everything we unpack today. Most healthcare teams are working hard. They're just not working together. And the patient is the one absorbing the cost. In this second half of the conversation, Jamie and Jaclyn move from the why into the how. What does it actually look like when a provider stops responding to today's schedule and starts managing an entire patient panel? How do you turn a community health worker, a pharmacist, a PT, and a social worker into one coordinated team instead of four parallel ones? And what's the difference between data that produces reports and data that produces decisions? You'll hear: Why "frequent touches" only work when they're connected — and how fragmented touches still land patients back in the hospital The quarterback model — what it actually means for a provider to own a patient's trajectory, not just their visit The shift from seeing patients to managing a population — and why most providers were never taught how Why we don't have a resource problem in healthcare — we have an orchestration opportunity How to use technology and data without drowning in either What "showing up" really means inside a system that isn't perfect yet This is the episode for anyone trying to lead change from inside a system that's still catching up. Press play. www.YourHealth.Org

Today on The Amber May Show, we start with the media outrage over President Trump acknowledging America's Christian founding as the nation approaches its 250th birthday. On May 17, 1776, the Second Continental Congress called Americans to a day of humility. That history matters. Before America declared independence, our founders understood that freedom needed faith, courage, and moral responsibility. We also talk about Tim Allen's powerful reaction to reading the Old Testament and how the Book of Job left him humbled by God's power and wisdom. Then we turn to the headlines showing what happens when a culture walks away from accountability. From the Austin crime spree, to the teen brawl inside a DC Chipotle, to the deadly Oakland crowd crash, America is facing a deeper crisis than politics. Denzel Washington said it plainly, don't just blame the system. It starts at home. This episode is about faith, family, humility, and the moral foundation America must recover if we want our nation to survive. https://www.heartfirstmedia.com/ Join Me On Telegram https://t.me/theambermayshow Podcast Like A PRO https://podcast-like-a-pro.trainercentralsite.com Promocode Amber Discord https://discord.gg/kUsDba4zRj https://discord.com/channels/1331829063400034435/1331829063869792308 The Amber May Show Theme Song https://suno.com/song/87e27080-4ddb-47f7-8722-b00b251e6c84 Get AMAZING Amber May Merchandise https://www.ambermayshow.com/amazing-products Follow Me on Pickax https://pickax.com/?referralCode=gb4e11n&refSource=copy Get all your My Pillow Products at a DISCOUNT www.mypillow.com/amber Use Promo Code AMBER and save up to 66% off Promo code-AMBER 800-957-2123 Get Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine and SAVE Dr Stella Immanuel https://shop.drstellamd.com/?linkId=lp_080983&sourceId=amber-may&tenantId=rehoboth-medical-cli Use Promo Code AmberMay and save Become An Affiliate with Dr Stella https://rehoboth-medical-cli.trackdesk.com/sign-up?referralAccountId=1f8c94aa-933e-4aa8-ac5b-5a8d9a0d4508 Save Money When Using A Patient Advocate In The Medical System https://www.graithcare.com/?ref=Amber Take Control of Your Health & Healing! Diana Johnson joined Tom Katz on Wake Up Tri-Counties for the "Here's to Your Health" series, discussing services at Hammond-Henry Hospital. Spotlighting local healthcare, Diana Johnson, a respiratory therapist with nearly two decades at Hammond Henry Hospital, discussed her pivotal role in the pulmonary function department. She performs pulmonary function tests, which help diagnose breathing issues like asthma, COPD, and chronic coughs, on patients ranging from age six to 100. Symptoms prompting referral include persistent shortness of breath or unexplained coughing, especially active during allergy season and for student athletes. The testing process is thorough, and results are reviewed promptly by a pulmonologist to guide further care. More about these services can be found at hammondhenry.com.
What if every "non-compliant" patient was actually a signal that the system isn't working for them? In this episode, Jamie sits down with Jaclyn Taylor, Clinical Strategy Director at Your Health and a nurse practitioner who started her career as a home-based provider in 2020 — thrown straight into the fire of COVID, isolated patients, and a healthcare world rewriting itself in real time. What she saw inside patients' homes — medications scattered on tables, food insecurity, missing transportation — changed how she thinks about every chart she's ever read. You'll hear: Why a nurse-first pathway gives nurse practitioners a fundamentally different lens than a medical school pathway — and why patients feel it What working across home care, telehealth, trauma, and wellness teaches you about treating the whole human, not just the diagnosis Why trauma surgery turned Jacqueline into a believer in proactive, longitudinal care — and what gets missed when we only meet patients after something has already gone wrong The two words she uses to describe what's most broken in traditional healthcare: fragmentation and misalignment How empathy stops being a poster and starts being operational — built into the design of care itself If you've ever felt invisible inside the healthcare system, or if you're the one trying to fix it, this conversation reframes the whole game. Today on The Amber May Show, we are connecting the dots between crime, political protection, and the larger threats facing America. The soft-on-crime policies continue to put communities at risk, with Democrats struggling to explain why illegal alien murderers keep receiving protection while victims' families are left behind. We also break down Abigail Spanberger's sweeping gun crackdown and why it is already running into legal trouble. Once again, law-abiding Americans are being targeted while criminals ignore the law. What if the most important thing you did today wasn't on your task list? In the final episode of Your Health University's Values Series, host Jamie Preston brings back the full Patient Experience Team — Jennifer Kistler, Kim Metz, Whitney Myers, Carlos Heyward, and Rebecca Dillard — to explore the value that brings every other one to life: Service. Not the idea of it. The real, daily, roll-up-your-sleeves version that shows up in 60 extra seconds, one extra phone call, and the moments when you decide not to leave someone when they need you most. What you'll hear in this episode: Whitney's story of refusing to leave a patient on his worst day — and what true service looks like when the moments count most Carlos's creative solution for a patient in Charleston who keeps falling — and the phone call she made just to say thank you Rebecca's respiratory therapists who change cat litter boxes and wheel trash cans to the curb — because they noticed, and they could Kim's ICU story: braiding the hair of ventilated patients who couldn't do it themselves, because I would want someone to do that for me Jamie's deeply personal account of his wife's breast cancer diagnosis — and the profound difference between a healthcare team that says "this is what you need to do" and one that asks "what do you think?" Carlos's challenge to every listener: don't just adopt these values at work — make them yours Service is the reason you got into this. It's the thing that makes the hard days worth it and wakes you up the next morning ready to go again. Press play — and let this episode remind you exactly why what you do matters. www.YourHealth.Org

Mutual respect is easy when everyone agrees. The real test comes when the pressure is on, the roles clash, and the person across from you sees things completely differently — and you have to choose, in that moment, what kind of teammate you're going to be. In this episode of Your Health University, host Jamie Preston is joined by the Your Health Patient Experience Team — Jennifer Kistler, Kim Metz, Whitney Myers, Carlos Heyward, and Rebecca Dillard — to explore one of the most demanding values in healthcare: Mutual Respect. Not as a concept, but as a daily practice that shows up in how we listen, how we disagree, how we treat the people we serve, and how much we're willing to learn from someone who doesn't look, think, or live like we do. What you'll hear in this episode: Why active listening is the foundation of all mutual respect — and what it looks like when someone has already "checked out" of a conversation Rebecca's moving story of a nurse who protected a patient's dignity in a single, graceful moment — without missing a beat How reverse mentoring flips the hierarchy and why Rebecca learned one of her most valuable lessons from Whitney Carlos's quiet act of mutual respect that resolved a conflict the room couldn't — just by listening Why conflict isn't the enemy of respect — and how Disney's creative process models what happens when mutual respect stays in the room Every patient is valued. Every voice belongs. That's not a slogan at Your Health — it's a practice. Press play and find out what it takes to really live it. www.YourHealth.Org

What if the most powerful thing you could do for your patients, your teammates, and your own career is simply to say: I made a mistake? In this episode of Your Health University, host Jamie Preston is joined by the Your Health Patient Experience Team — Jennifer Kistler, Kim Metz, Whitney Myers, Carlos Heyward, and Rebecca Dillard — for one of the most honest conversations in this Values Series yet: a deep dive into integrity. Not the word on the wall, but the daily practice of accountability, consistency, and courage that defines who we really are. What you'll hear in this episode: Why fear is the single biggest barrier to integrity in healthcare — and what leadership must do about it The real-time story of Rebecca owning a patient complaint oversight at 5:45 AM, and why it made all the difference Whitney's powerful reframe: integrity isn't just doing the right thing when no one's watching — it's consistency, whether it's easy or hard Jennifer's insight on how strong patient-provider relationships reduce malpractice suits — and why that starts with honesty The unforgettable story of a million-dollar mistake, a resignation letter, and a CEO who said: "Why would I let you go? I just spent a million dollars training you." Integrity matters here. At Your Health, it's not a policy — it's a promise. Press play and find out what it looks and feels like when an entire team commits to living it every single day. www.YourHealth.Org
"What if you train them and they leave?" It's the fear that quietly keeps most healthcare leaders from investing in their people. Matt Staub — CEO of Your Health — wants you to sit with the question his mentor once asked in return: What if you don't train them, and they stay? In this episode, Matt joins Jamie Preston for a conversation about why workforce education isn't a perk at Your Health — it's the culture. From nationally accredited apprenticeships, to a training pipeline built out of a licensing crisis, to the real people behind the success stories, this is a blueprint for leaders who want to grow something that lasts. Key topics covered: The lumberjack story: why sharpening your axe beats swinging harder every time How a shortage of licensed administrators became the catalyst for Your Health's training engine The shift from "education happens on your own time" to "this is how we behave" Real success stories — Olivia, Kristin, Taylor, McKinsey, Rebecca — and what they share Matt's three challenges for anyone ready to grow: show up, find your who, take your shot If you've ever wondered whether developing your people is worth the cost, this episode will change the math. Press play — then look around, and ask yourself who's looking at you.

Kathleen VanDeRostyne joined Tom Katz for "Here's To Your Health" on Wake Up Tri-Counties to honor the many volunteers at Hammond-Henry Hospital. This week on "Here's to Your Health," Hammond Henry Hospital shines a spotlight on its dedicated volunteers as part of Volunteer Appreciation Week. Kathleen VanDeRostyne, volunteer supervisor, shared that the hospital relies on 150 active volunteers to staff roles ranging from shuttle driving to the gift shop and information desks. Volunteers collectively contributed more than 7,000 hours last year—saving the hospital significant resources. The hospital also nurtures future healthcare workers through scholarships and a junior volunteer program. An annual luncheon and award ceremony will celebrate milestone service hours, and recruitment efforts are key as the volunteer community continues to grow and evolve. Lending a hand at Hammond-Henry Hospital means making a difference every day. Volunteers serve in numerous roles, from greeting visitors and assisting at the information desk to arranging flowers and supporting long-term care residents with special activities. Students in grades 8-12 can join the Junior Volunteer Program and gain valuable experience. Hospital volunteers also contribute behind the scenes—helping with office tasks, delivering mail, or even driving shuttles for patients. Those interested in making a difference at Hammond-Henry Hospital can begin by filling out an application, either in person at the Volunteer Office or by requesting one via email at volunteer@hammondhenry.com. Next, schedule an interview by calling 309.944.9130, attend a volunteer orientation, and commit to a monthly volunteer schedule. Volunteers can take their support further by joining the Hammond-Henry Hospital Auxiliary, a group dedicated to planning educational and fundraising activities.

Most providers interrupt their patients within 18 seconds. What if the next few minutes of silence could tell you more than the next hour of testing? In Part 2 of the Your Health Values Series, Jamie sits down again with members of the Your Health Experience Team — Rebecca, Jennifer, Whitney, and Carlos — to go beneath the surface of "patient-centered care" and look at what empathy really demands in the pressured, everyday moments of healthcare. This isn't a conversation about being nice. It's a conversation about seeing people — patients, families, and colleagues — for everything they're carrying, even when they're hiding it behind a smile. In this episode: Why empathy is officially non-negotiable at Your Health — and what that looks like in practice The difference between emotional empathy and "empathetic sternness" (and why both save lives) How to recognize when a patient or colleague is carrying something deeper than their symptoms The real threat of empathy fatigue — and how to keep giving without burning out The two "holy times" in healthcare where empathy matters most What patients actually say when they feel truly seen If you've ever wondered whether the extra 60 seconds is worth it, this episode will show you why it's everything. Press play — and then try it on your very next interaction. www.YourHealth.Org

Whitney Merchant was nearing 40 when her life unraveled—within weeks, she experienced a divorce, the loss of her pets, and a sudden layoff. Searching for an outlet to process grief and rediscover herself, she made an unexpected decision: she signed up for a pole dancing class. What began as a bold step outside her comfort zone evolved into a transformative journey of healing, confidence, and self-expression. In this episode, Whitney shares how embracing curiosity helped her reconnect with her body, explore feminine embodiment, and move through one of the most challenging seasons of her life.We discuss the emotional and physical power of pole dancing, the courage it takes to try something new in midlife, and how women can rewrite limiting narratives about aging, confidence, and sexuality.Whitney's story is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to reinvent yourself—and that sometimes the smallest step into the unknown can open the door to profound personal growth. This episode is part of the Women Who Did series within the To Your Health podcast—a series about real women who followed through on something important to them and what that experience taught them, so other women can see what's possible for themselves.Whitney Merchant helps women reclaim the parts of themselves they were taught to quiet: their desire, their intuition, and their unapologetic feminine presence. Her approach is traumainformed, body-based, and outrageously liberating.Whitney has taught internationally alongside esteemed teachers such as Sheila Kelley, Tony Robbins, and Heather Ash Amara, and holds a degree in English and French Literature from UCLA. Her own healing journey as a sexual trauma survivor is what drives her to create the kind of safe, transformative space where embodied change is not just possible, but deeply felt.https://www.whitneymerchant.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whitneybird/Free mini class for your viewers: https://subscribepage.io/quick-winsTune in each week for practical, relatable advice that helps you feel your best and unlock your full potential. Most organizations put "Collaboration" on a wall. Few actually live it — and in healthcare, the cost of not living it isn't a missed deadline. It's a missed patient. In the first episode of Your Health University's brand-new Most organizations put "collaboration" on a wall. Few actually live it — and in healthcare, the cost of not living it isn't a missed deadline. It's a missed patient. In the first episode of Your Health University's brand-new Our Values Series, host Jamie Preston gathers four members of Your Health's patient experience team — Rebecca Dillard (VP of Organizational Experience), Jennifer Kessler (Division President of Product), Whitney Myers (Senior Solutions Advisor), and Carlos Hayward (Business Office Manager) — for an unfiltered conversation about what genuine collaboration looks like inside a fast-moving, mission-driven healthcare organization. No theory. No platitudes. Just the real, messy, mundane, and occasionally remarkable daily practice of people choosing to work together when it would be easier to go it alone. What you'll hear in this episode: Why real collaboration means recognizing what the person next to you brings that you simply cannot replicate — and building toward that, not around it The true story of a patient found living in an RV without his medication — and how cross-team collaboration made the difference between crisis and care Where collaboration most commonly breaks down in healthcare settings, and the small documentation and communication habits that prevent it The one question — "How can I do my job differently to make yours better?" — that builds trust across departments faster than almost anything else The daily habits these four healthcare professionals actually practice to keep collaboration alive, from weekly team check-ins to learning someone's preferred communication style before you assume Collaboration isn't a value you perform. It's a choice you make — one conversation, one phone call, one honest mistake admitted at a time. What if the key to protecting your brain—and avoiding dementia—wasn't found in a prescription, but in your daily habits? In this episode of Walk, Don't Run to the Doctor, Dr. Miles Hassell dives into the powerful connection between exercise, leisure activities, and long-term brain health. Backed by decades of research, including a 40-year study showing up to a 90% reduction in dementia risk, this conversation explores how simple lifestyle choices can dramatically impact your future. Whether you're in your 20's or your 70's, the habits you build today can shape your cognitive health for years to come. Key Takeaways: Regular exercise can reduce the risk of dementia by up to 90% over time. Activities that combine physical + mental + social engagement (like dancing or sports) offer the greatest brain benefits. Higher intensity exercise (getting short of breath) leads to stronger cognitive and physical outcomes. Variety in movement improves balance, bone strength, and injury prevention as you age. Purpose and social connection play a major role in protecting brain function—even with physical signs of aging. Lifestyle choices often have a greater long-term impact than medical interventions. Encore Presentation of March 19 and March 26 of 2026, Featuring Dr. Kelly Victory and Steve House HOUR 1 - March 19, 2026 Are We Treating Cancer All Wrong? The Truth About Food, Pharma, and Your Health. Hour 1 of https://RushToReason.com dives headfirst into one of the most provocative health conversations of our time—are we treating disease all wrong? John Rush, Dr. Kelly Victory, and Steve House explore emerging ideas in cancer treatment, including the surprising potential of repurposed drugs such as ivermectin and fenbendazole. Could creating a “hostile environment” for cancer be more effective—and less destructive—than traditional chemotherapy? The conversation expands into a broader look at immune health, prevention, and the growing skepticism around vaccines, including a controversial breast cancer vaccine currently in trials. But the real fireworks begin when the discussion turns to power and control—should judges, politicians, or medical professionals determine public health policy? Then comes a hard pivot to something every listener faces daily: food. From processed ingredients to misleading labels, the trio exposes how modern diets may be fueling chronic disease—and why real change faces massive resistance from powerful industries. Are Americans being protected… or profited from? And more importantly, what can you do. Dr. Kelly Victory - https://x.com/DrKellyVictory HOUR 2 - From March 26, 2026 What if everything you thought you knew about public health… wasn't the full picture? In this powerful hour of Rush to Reason, John Rush is joined by Dr. Kelly Victory for a deep dive into some of the most controversial health topics still echoing from the COVID era. From global vaccine policies and shifting narratives to questions about media influence and pharmaceutical power, the conversation challenges listeners to think critically about the information they've been given. But it doesn't stop there. As listener questions pour in, the discussion pivots to real-world applications—ivermectin, skin conditions, virus mutations, and even emerging health concerns like a meningitis outbreak tied to possible lab research. Are we learning from the past… or setting ourselves up to repeat it? The hour closes with practical medical insights on prevention and treatment, reinforcing a key theme: knowledge matters, and so does asking the right questions. With Dr. Kelly Victory alongside him, John Rush delivers an hour that doesn't just inform—it challenges, provokes, and leaves you wondering what you haven't been told. Hammond-Henry Hospital is enhancing its campus with a new 40-by-48-foot outbuilding, designed to serve multiple roles for the community and the hospital staff. Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation Manager Katie Orwig joined Tom Katz on the "Here's to Your Health" segment on Wake Up Tri-Counties. She says the facility will provide much-needed storage, secure parking for hospital vehicles, and two fully furnished studio apartments. These apartments will house visiting medical students and locum providers, helping to reduce hotel costs and improve recruitment. Thanks to $142,000 in generous donations, including the Geneseo Foundation, the Francis G. & Betty J. Miller Foundation, a gift from the Hammond-Henry Hospital Endowment, and the Jo Ann Parsons Memorial, the $400,000 project is moving forward. Construction is underway north of the hospital property.
What if the healthcare system your loved one relies on doesn't even know they need help until it's too late — and what would it look like if it did? In this Q1 2026 episode, Jamie Preston sits down with Matt Staub, CEO of Your Health, for a candid and wide-ranging look at how one of the country's largest home-based care providers is navigating the evolving landscape of value-based care, population health, and the human experience at the center of it all. Matt brings his characteristic clarity and heart to a conversation that is equal parts strategy, story, and honest reckoning with what the system still gets wrong. Key topics covered: Why 11% of patients account for 67% of all healthcare spending — and why most of them don't know they're in an ACO The evolution of value-based care: from quality-over-cost to outcomes + patient experience over total costs How Your Health is becoming proactive — not reactive — about falls, readmissions, and high-needs patients The quiet crisis of patient trust: down from 71% in 2020 to just 33% today, and what the correlation means for hospitalizations Real stories: a 79-year-old patient who went from barely existing to living fully — and Matt's own mom, who hasn't fallen since leaving the hospital after her stroke If you work in healthcare, advocate for someone in the system, or simply believe that better is possible — this episode will change the way you see what care can be.

Fifty to sixty percent of women will get a urinary tract infection at least once in their lifetime — and for many, it won't stop there. So why does almost every conversation about UTIs still end with the same answer: another antibiotic? In this episode of the Your Health University Podcast, host Jamie Preston sits down with Madison Browning, Executive Director of Clinical Services in the Specialty Department at Your Health, to explore what's actually possible when we stop reacting and start preventing. Madison oversees the urology and nephrology divisions and brings the kind of front-line clinical perspective that turns confusing medical information into something anyone can act on. Together, they cover: Why repeated antibiotic use can actually make you more prone to future infections — and what antibiotic resistance really means for your body The honest truth about cranberry: there is science behind it, but probably not in the form you've been using What D-Mannose is, how it works, and why it practically fills the hooks bacteria use to grab onto your urinary tract Vaginal estrogen — the most evidence-backed, most underused prevention option for postmenopausal women, and why the word "estrogen" shouldn't automatically trigger fear The lifestyle changes that cost nothing, require no prescription, and form the foundation of any prevention plan This isn't about abandoning medical care. It's about having a better conversation with your provider — one that goes beyond treating the infection in the moment and starts asking why it keeps happening at all. www.YourHealth.Org

Sick of being told your labs are “normal” when you KNOW something's off? In today's episode, I'm joined by functional medicine expert Dr. Robin Berzin to talk about what it really means to take control of your health in midlife. Dr. Berzin shares the early warning signs to watch for and how to better interpret your health data so you can catch imbalances before they become bigger issues. You'll learn how to advocate for yourself, understand key lab markers, and explore why supportive options like supplementation and HRT could be game-changers for you. We're reframing health as an ongoing, flexible practice—not a rigid destination—helping you release perfection and stay curious about what your body needs. Tune in here to feel empowered and take your health into your own hands with confidence! Dr. Robin Berzin Dr. Robin Berzin the founder and CEO of Parsley Health, America's leading holistic medical practice designed to help women overcome chronic conditions. As a pioneer in functional medicine, she founded Parsley to address the rise of chronic disease in America through personalized holistic medicine. She stresses the importance of not only medications and treatments, but more so why food, lifestyle, and proactive diagnostics are just as essential– if not more. Since founding Parsley in 2016, Dr. Berzin has seen 80% of patients improve or resolve their chronic conditions within their first year of care, showing the life-changing value of making modern holistic medicine accessible to everyone. IN THIS EPISODE How to navigate feeling dismissed by your doctor Why “normal” doesn't always mean normal The massive benefits of a functional medicine approach Proactively testing hormone levels earlier than you may think Tracking your metrics to better understand your body Managing stress in your body and mind during midlife How to realistically fit healthy habits into your busy routine Supplementation to support your body through midlife transitions Hormone Replacement therapy and GLP-1 use in perimenopause & beyond QUOTES “A lot of times, the labs may technically fall within the normal range, not the optimal range– normal range being based on an average of Americans today, and 60% of Americans have at least one chronic condition, 40% have two. So our averages have drifted over time to kind of reflect a sick population.” “Whether it's aging parents or kids growing up, or something happening career-wise… all of that puts pressure on a physical system that's in dynamic change hormonally, and I think we have to recognize that.” “Proactive, preventive medicine is where we're going. Proactive testing is required to practice that type of personalized preventive care, and I believe that HRT is going to become the default rather than the exception.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Order my new book: The Perimenopause Revolution https://peri-revolution.com/ Robin's Website Robin on Instagram Parsley Health Website RELATED EPISODES #661: When ‘Normal' Isn't Normal: How to Be Heard (and Taken Seriously) at the Doctor's Office #650: Unlock Your Health: The Ultimate Biomarker & Lab Blueprint to Thrive in Midlife and Beyond #541: Why Functional Labs Are a Game Changer for Your Health with Dr. Kela Smith #527: The Science Of Energy Production and Recovery & How To Balance Out Cortisol and Melatonin with Kristen Holmes

We sweat in them. We stretch in them. We live in them. But almost no one is asking the most important question: What's actually in the fabric touching your skin? PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” are commonly used in activewear for sweat resistance, stain resistance, odor control, and durability. But here's the problem: leggings are worn tight against your skin. Add heat, friction, sweat, and increased blood flow, and absorption risk goes way up. PFAS have been linked to hormonal disruption, thyroid dysfunction, fertility challenges, immune suppression, and increased cancer risk. Yet there is no requirement for most clothing brands to test their finished garments for PFAS, heavy metals, BPA, phthalates, or microplastics. So instead of trusting marketing claims, Dr. Christian Gonzalez reached out to 76 activewear brands with one simple question: Do you test your finished garments for PFAS, and can you provide a third-party Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to prove it? The results were shocking. In this episode, Dr. G breaks down: • Why performance fabrics often rely on chemical finishes • How PFAS exposure increases with tight, sweat-heavy clothing • Why raw fabric certifications don't equal clean finished products • The difference between supplier testing and third-party finished garment testing • Which major brands failed to respond at all• The only brand (out of 76!) that provided full third-party lab testing This isn't about attacking brands. It's about transparency. If you wear leggings, sports bras, or athleisure wear, this is a conversation you need to hear before your next purchase.
