Lineworkers and their loved ones came from all over the world to celebrate the line trade at the 40th anniversary of the International Lineman's Rodeo. While the competition is always the Super Bowl of the line trade, participants can enjoy several days of camaraderie and networking before the competition even begins on the Rodeo grounds. Every December, T&D World celebrates this event not only online and in social media, but also in its December print issue. This year, we featured one article on the winners, which we recently narrated for our ICYMI series for this episode, and another article exploring the events of Rodeo Week from the Safety and Training Conference to the Trade Night. Listen to this audio story to hear about how lineworkers learned to stay safe during the one-and-a-half-day conference, explored tools and technologies at the Lineman's Expo and swapped shirts and stories during Trade Night. Also, stay tuned to the Line Life Podcast to listen to future episodes featuring interviews from the trade show floor in the T&D World booth with special guests in the line trade. If you want to be on a future episode, email us at linelifepodcast@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you.

From the Henssler Financial Studio this is your news minute on the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Thursday August 31st, and I'm Brian Giffin Last year, a murder investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Department led to uncovering a larger issue of human trafficking in metro Atlanta, as revealed by Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Cleo Atwater. Collaborating investigators from the police department and the Sheriff's Office worked on both murder and suspected human trafficking angles. This investigation unveiled an organization using crimes like murder, kidnapping, assaults, and human trafficking to advance their operations. Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office aims to combat this problem by hosting a training conference for local law enforcement and prosecutors in the coming year. This initiative was discussed during the Sheriff's Office's business plan presentation. The conference will offer highly skilled training led by law enforcement officials, survivor leaders, and victim services providers, targeting human trafficking and child exploitation cases in Gwinnett County and neighboring areas. The Sheriff's Office is committed to addressing citizen needs through forward-looking strategies. For more on this, visit gwinnettdailypost.com. Much of America wants policing to change. But these self-proclaimed experts in police training tell officers they're doing just fine. Today on Post Reports, we take you inside a police training conference.Read more:For more than a year now, Robert Klemko has been covering calls for police reform across the country in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. But last fall, he started wondering — have these calls for reform changed anything about the way police are trained? He went looking for a police training conference, and he found the Street Cop Training Conference in Atlantic City in October. The speakers included the right-wing political commentator Tomi Lahren, former law enforcement officers and military personnel. In this compendium of interviews from the FBINAA National Annual Training Conference, held in Orlando, Florida, July 7-10, Policing Matters host Jim Dudley speaks with: Former New York City Police Commissioner and former LAPD Chief Bill Bratton, about the challenges of policing today; Bensalem Township Police Department's Director of Public Safety Fred Harran about his agency's use of Thermo Fisher's Rapid DNA to solve property crimes; Doug Monda, founder of Survive First, about the barriers that prevent public safety personnel from getting help for mental health issues.
Andrew Taylor, Vivian Weyll, Adriano Dandrea and John Harrison sit down to discuss the importance of attending the many free training opportunities that Family First Life offers - such as Launch 2021, a FREE one-day conference in Phoenix, Arizona happening November 15th, 2021.John worked in the corporate sales industry for over 20 years before his company went out of business. He applied for many jobs before finally deciding to change his career and enter the insurance industry. In the beginning, John was issuing well under $20K every month. He then decided to attend one of Family First Life's free sales conferences last February and has not written under $30K since. In fact, John is now a steady $60K per month producer. He believes the keys to succeeding with FFL are putting in the work, being coachable and listening to those with more experience.Vivian Weyll and Adriano Dandrea are a husband and wife team whose fast-growing agency, Family First Life Aria, did $450,000 last month
We're BACK!!! Today, Riley Bowman and Matthew Maruster talk about the 2021 Guardian Conference that we recently returned from and share our top takeaways for you to get the MOST out of your training experience should you attend a multi-day training conference or any training course for that matter.
Under God, something a little accidental and thrilling has just happened, so I thought I'd share it here. A year ago I was invited to speak at a conference in the South West of Sydney called SweatCon. It stands for South West Evangelism and Training Conference. It was so impressive. There were 20 or so churches working together brilliantly with close collaboration and team work. I came home inspired, encouraged and thrilled to bits. And so when COVID forced the shutdown of the evangelical training conference that we used to send a few of our people up to each year, I said to the other minsters around here, ‘Let's see if we can pull it off, to set up a local non residential ministry training conference running over four days.' And so Cultivate Conference was born. The kind people at SweatCon gave us the strand material. The great trainers from Youthworks came and gave us electives. Plus there was an elective on sexuality from the crew at livingfaith.onlineWe had four New Testament talks from Bill Salier in the morning and Mike Leite on the Old Testament in the evening. All for $130 a head.We got local restaurants and cafes to cater. On the first day - over an amazing Lebanese feast that we had for lunch - I met one young lady who came to Christ in March, who was having her first meal at her first Christian conference. I had to tell her. ‘Just so your expectations aren't shattered about Christian Conferences in the future, in terms of food. It's all down hill from here.'Let me tell you what was amazing: From our church - we had at least four times as many people trained - as we have ever been able to get to go away to a residential external conference. It was the best inter-church co-operation that I've seen in our area in twenty years of ministry. If it can happen in the hard soil of the inner west of Sydney - then in the many other places where the soil is softer - it's absolutely possible. And here's a thing where the Covid disruption could lead to good. Wouldn't it be awesome if instead of a total of 5-600 people going to the blue mountains to be trained, across the 26 mission areas of Sydney - there were 26 x 100 people each at one of these local training conferences. There could be thousands more people being trained and equipped in the ministry of Jesus - who would never go to an overnight dormitory conference in the mountains. How do you get the strand material? Go to sweat.org.au and send the conference organisers a message, be nice and polite, and you never know what might happen. That's what I did.See Sydney Anglicans Article: https://sydneyanglicans.net/news/cultivate-conferenceSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/thepastorsheart)

I have grown accustomed to the power of the Post-Traumatic Winning presentation that I do around the nation and to the powerful reactions that it evokes — that is until I presented it yesterday in Orlando at the US Air Force’s “Key Spouse Development and Training Conference” — their reaction to Post-Traumatic Winning was beyond […]

We speak with Andreas Antonopoulos, author of Mastering Bitcoin, The Internet of Money, and Mastering Ethereum, and also board member at the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium, known as C4. C4 will be hosting the Blockchain Training Conference in Denver, Colorado at the end of August. In this conversation, we learn about the conference, how Andreas thinks about blockchain teaching pedagogy, and the certifications that C4 is offering now: the Certified Bitcoin Professional (or CBP) certification and the CryptoCurrency Security Standard (or CCSS) certification. We learn all about the certifications and what they allow the holder to do. Always a pleasure to talk with Andreas. If you enjoyed this one, please rate and review us on iTunes. It would help us out a lot. Thanks for listening to the episode. But before we get to the conversation, here’s a word from a sponsor, Blockchain Training Conference, that I’m really excited about. Imagine being only 8 years old. Your step-father got your mother hooked on drugs, your home life is chaotic. You find support from your friends. But can’t spend as much time with them as you’d like. Using drones for surveys and inspections is quickly proving to be one of the safest, fastest and most cost-effective ways to get the job done; if you know what you’re doing. We’re not talking about the hobby drones you got you kids for Christmas; commercial drones can weight up to 55 lbs. and carry equipment from HD cameras to sophisticated LIDAR equipment. Mark and Patrick talk to David Stacey, the owner of AIR TOPO, one of the leading companies in this burgeoning field. David and his team have been building, programming and flying commercial UAVs longer than just about anyone else in the industry, and his equipment has proven itself in sustained Texas winds of over 35 mph! Whether you call them drones or UAVs, the commercial use of unmanned aerial vehicles is entering the main stream. Using drones for surveys and inspections is quickly proving to be one of the safest, fastest and most cost-effective ways to get the job done; if you know what you're doing. We're not talking about the hobby drones you got you kids for Christmas; commercial drones can weight up to 55 lbs. and carry equipment from HD cameras to sophisticated LIDAR equipment. We are barraged with a constant stream of new ideas for design and delivery of solutions that can improve learning, engagement, and performance. Finding methods to rapidly evaluate innovation, while maximizing the benefits and minimizing the risks, can mean the difference between success and failure. How can you strategically innovate your training so that your learners develop new knowledge faster, become more deeply engaged, and have a greater impact? Emerging technologies are providing many new and different approaches for designing and delivering training ... but where to get started? Today on the program, Monica and David discuss how to strategically innovate your training through the intentional integration of emerging technologies. How can one make sure they are on the success side of innovation? What does that process look like? What are the latest innovations? What are the benefits of partnerships and how does a partnership come about? How can one maintain an appropriate level of risk with innovations?
