With the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine top on the news agenda, it may be easy to miss ongoing war in Sudan. The medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has this week highlighted the extensive use of sexual violence against women and girls - some of them very young indeed - in the Darfur region. We hear testimonies from survivors and Edward Stourton speaks to Ruth Kauffman, the MSF Medical Emergency Manager for Sudan and by Dr Harun Issack Muslim Aids Country Director for Sudan. The King? A healer? An American shaman? We explore Elvis' little known fascination with the occult, spirituality and a quest for higher consciousness with Miguel Connor, author of ‘The Occult Elvis: The Mystical and Magical Life of the King.'It's been a busy week for the new Catholic Archbishop of Liverpool. Installed on Tuesday, his first mass was overshadowed by violence at the victory parade in the city which saw 79 people injured by a car driven into the crowd at high speed. And now, John Sherrington has another job on his hands: deciding the future of an historic church in Lancashire, one with links to the martyr St Edmund Arrowsmith, executed for his faith in 1628. Parishioners like Bren Cook at Brindle St Joseph's were shocked to hear their building would be closed and the congregation dispersed to neighbouring churches after their priest was recalled to Ampleforth Abbey in North Yorkshire- the Sunday programme also hears from Liam Kelly the company secretary of the trust.Presenter: Edward Stourton Producers: Bara'atu Ibrahim & Linda Walker Studio Managers: Jack Morris & Chris Hardman Editor: Tim Pemberton

Today we're looking at our second bishop from the list of new Cardinals Pope Francis will be officially elevating on December 7th 2024, the vigil of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, because apparently the schedule was already too full for the 8th itself, despite that being the originally announced date of the consistory. Thankfully, through the magic of vigils, it's still falling on the same important feast day, but it's a glimpse into how closely guarded such things are until they are announced that the apparent scheduling conflict wasn't caught earlier. Anyways… Carlos Gustavo CASTILLO MATTASOGLIO was born on February 28th 1950 in Lima, Peru. He's *our* first Cardinal from Peru, though of course that's not to be confused with being *the* first Cardinal from Peru. Not counting Carlos, there have been five Cardinals who were born in Peru, most of then, like Carlos, hailing from Lima specifically, including two who both happen to turn 80 this year, freeing up spots for more Peruvian electors in the college. Attentive listeners may also recall the case of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who, though originally from Chicago, spent much of his career in Peru before being called to Rome. But enough about Peru's other Cardinals, let's get back to young Carlos, our Cardinal of the day. By 1968, he was 18 and studying at the Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences at the San Marcos Higher National University of Lima, eventually obtaining a bachelor's degree in social sciences, graduating in 1973. You may have noticed that that's not a seminary, but don't worry, Carlos rectified that with his next move, entering the Santo Toribio di Mogrovejo major seminary of the archdiocese of Lima. Soon enough he was sent to the Gregorian in Rome, getting a degree in philosophy in 1979 and one in theology in 1983. Finally, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Lima in 1984 at the relatively advanced age of 34. Carrying on at the Gregorian, Father Castillo followed up with a licentiate and then a doctorate in 1987 before returning to Peru for decades of pastoral work at various parishes and posts. Accompanying his pastoral work, Father Castillo served as assessor of the National Union of Catholic Students as well as lecturing in theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. That last role brings some real spice to the conversation, as one bit that his Vatican bio just happens to leave off is the part where Father Castillo was suspended by the then-Archbishop of Lima Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani in 2013 due to vague “allegations of heterodoxy” and slightly more specific “attacks on the ecclesiastical hierarchy”, that is, the bishops. BENJAMIN JACOBS: Mein Gott! What a twist! GREGG Yes indeed, cohost Ben from Wittenberg to Westphalia. It's funny you've been silent the last, oh I don't know, forty odd episodes, but I appreciate you giving a good reaction there Just when I really needed my cohost to step up. Anyways, I should say, Archbishop Cipriani *tried* to suspend him, but the University didn't enforce the ban, so Castillo kept teaching. I'msure there's more to this story, especially because six years later Archbishop Cipriani was helping consecrate Father Castillo as his successor as Archbishop of Lima. *That* was *probably* awkward. We get a bit more insight on what now-Archbishop Castillo's “heterodoxy” may have looked like with some quotes from 2019, his first year as Archbishop: for example when he acknowledged “abortion is the destruction of a life” but indicated that “people should reflect and decide freely” rather than having legal bans and interference from the Church, which is definitely an eyebrow-raising take coming from a Catholic Archbishop. The old “attacks on the ecclesiastical hierarchy” charge might also be clarified when we see that he was also then calling for the Vatican to give him permission to quote “appoint families, couples or groups of spouses or lay older people to lead parishes.” You know, stuff generally very much reserved for priests. One aspect of Archbishop Castillo's tenure that definitely made it onto Pope Francis' radar is his engagement with the Catacaos peasant farming community from Piura in the north of the country. You see, in a nutshell, developers are trying to seize control of their lands and drive them off. And when I say “their lands”, I mean like this farming community was established in 1578, so we're talking many generations. Unfortunately from what I can tell they may not have full proper legal title for the land, which any lawyer will tell you is bad news. One of the groups attempting to take over the land is a Catholic group known as the Saint John the Baptist Civil Association, which could not be happy with the Archbishop posing for photos with a delegation from Catacaos, although that would have been a drop in the ocean compared with a video message from Pope Francis to Catacaos, in which the Holy Father said “I know what happened to you.” and “Defend your land, don't let it be stolen”, a deeply personal level of involvement in what comes across as a fairly tangential crisis for the Pope to be getting involved in, but then again it's disadvantaged folk--unabashedly his favorite demographic–in his old stomping grounds of Latin America. In any event, clearly Pope Francis *did* choose to get briefly involved to personally show his support for the Catacaos traditional farmers, alongside their more local ally, Archbishop Castillo. Whether this all put Archbishop Castillo on Pope Francis' red hat radar is an open question–it did go down earlier this year, so I'd say you can make a case for it, though I think a stronger case can be made for two other Peruvian Cardinals turning 80 and the Archbishopric of Lima being the most prominent see in the country. Now, after I wrote my first draft of this, I went back and made a note that I should talk about Fr. Gustavo Guitérrez (whose name I am obviously botching here). Then, Fr. Guitérrez died. Now, I'm not saying I killed Fr. Guitérrez–the man was 96–but I'm taking it as a sign that rather than shoehorn in him and liberation theology here, I should do something more to mark the occasion. So, allow me a few month's time for research, as I definitely didn't have anything going, but sometime next year I'll be posting a special episode on Gustavo Gutiérrez and Liberation Theology on the main Popeular History feed. That'll also mark the last time I check off an episode from the original original request list, back in 2016 or so when I told my friends I was planning a Popeular podcast and asked for topic suggestions. I'm not saying I crossed everything else off the list, but I *am* saying I've lost track of the list and can't recall what else was on it to keep checking things off. It's a very special kind of milestone. In any event, when you eventually do hear that special, just recall that Cardinal CASTILLO MATTASOGLIO, was, like many others, influenced by Fr. Gutiérrez, a fellow cleric from Lima. After he is officially elevated on December 7th, Carlos Gustavo Cardinal CASTILLO MATTASOGLIO will be eligible to participate in future conclaves until he turns 80 in 2030. Today's episode is part of Cardinal Numbers, and there will be more Cardinal Numbers… well actually, later today, since this episode got put on hold last week due to my voice being a mess so we're doing a double header today. Anyways, thank you for listening, God bless you all! And thanks, Joe!

It's actually based on a supposedly legitimate case of possession attested to in writing by over 50 witnesses. A Catholic Archbishop granted a rare approval of the ritual's use. As it occurred in the area, “The Washington Post” published a front page, above-the-fold article, on the exorcism back in 1949, weeks after it occurred. Then a student at Georgetown University, future book author/screenwriter/film producer - William Peter Blatty - read the article and was inspired to pen what has become a $$ multi-billion dollar franchise. U.S. District Court Judge David Urias said Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's 30-day suspension of concealed and open firearm carry rights went against a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling in June that people had a right to carry a gun outside their homes for self defense. “They just want the right to carry their guns,” Urias said of the several plaintiffs who requested restraining orders against Lujan Grisham's Sept. 8 emergency public health order. The Democratic governor issued the suspension on firearm carry laws to offer a "cooling-off period" in which authorities could address solutions to the state's high rates of gun crime after several children were fatally shot. Lujan Grisham's order outraged gun-rights advocates and drew backlash from fellow Democrats and law enforcement officials, also Democrats, who called it unconstitutional. Gun control campaigners called the move "courageous" and the Catholic Archbishop of Santa Fe feared more value was being given to gun rights than the life of an 11-year-old boy shot dead last week in an apparent Albuquerque road rage incident. Albuquerque's mayor and Bernalillo County's sheriff, both Democrats, have urged Lujan Grisham to call a special state legislative session on gun crime after the gun ban. Mayor Tim Keller said that, in order to fight gun crime, he needed legislation to fix a broken criminal justice system, regulate assault weapons and provide addiction and mental health services, among other measures. "Albuquerque families can't afford political debates that distract us from fighting violent crime," Keller wrote in a letter to the governor. Gun violence kills around 500 people a year in New Mexico, which ranks sixth among U.S. states for gun deaths per capita, according to gun violence prevention group Everytown for Gun Safety. Albuquerque is among the 10 most dangerous U.S. cities, based on FBI violent crime data. Lujan Grisham favors a ban on so-called semi-automatic assault weapons, among other gun control measures, and her office on Wednesday welcomed Keller's call for a special legislative session. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/police-biden-energy-secretary-uses-car-reserve-ev Police called after Biden's energy secretary uses nonelectric car to reserve EV charger A Georgia family called the police on Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm after an electric vehicle charging station was blocked by a gas-powered car, which had been parked by a staff member of the Department of Energy. The event occurred during a four-day road trip that Granholm was taking to demonstrate the effectiveness of electric vehicles. During the trip, the group's caravan was going to charge up at a suburb of Augusta, Georgia, but due to a lack of charging stations needed for all of their vehicles, a staff member with the group parked a nonelectric vehicle by one of the chargers to reserve a spot. Shortly after, a family with a baby was planning to charge their vehicle but could not due to the nonelectric vehicle blocking the charger, leading to them calling the police. However, it is not illegal for nonelectric vehicles to park at EV charging stations in Georgia, meaning the police could not do anything about the situation. The Energy Department staff were eventually able to work things out after they sent other vehicles to slower chargers to allow the family to charge their vehicle. "It's just par for the course," said John Ryan, a driver of an electric BMW who was also waiting to charge his vehicle. "They'll get it together at some point." Granholm's road trip comes as the Biden administration pushes for electric vehicles in the auto industry, with the Energy Department announcing last month that it would be allocating $2 billion in grants and $10 billion in loans to support automakers and part suppliers. This allocation would be for automakers to retrofit their existing facilities and expand the production of electric vehicles and their components. In August, Ford CEO Jim Farley said he received a "reality check" when he tried to charge his electric vehicle during a road trip he took himself. When charging his vehicle, he said his car was only charged to 40% during the 40 minutes he charged it, according to a video he posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. https://twitter.com/i/status/1690858328606355456 - Play Video President Donald Trump, who is running for president again in 2024, has criticized the Biden administration's stance against gas-powered cars and appliances, saying voters want to have a "choice for buying cars and washing machines." He has encouraged auto industry workers to ask their leaders to vote for him in the next presidential election, stating he will "immediately" end the electric vehicle "madness." https://justthenews.com/nation/economy/income-dropped-poverty-soared-under-biden-census-bureau Income dropped, poverty soared under Biden: Census Bureau Despite the Biden administration's efforts to tout the alleged successes of "Bidenomics," a report from the United States Census Bureau has revealed that many Americans saw their economic situation deteriorate dramatically in the first half of Biden's term. While the official poverty rate hovered around 11.5% in both 2021 and 2022, according to the report, the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) increased 4.6% in 2022 to reach 12.4%, marking the first overall increase in that metric since 2010. In total, 37.9 million Americans lived in poverty in 2022. The report partially attributed the increase to the expiration of tax credits and pandemic stimulus payments. Income, meanwhile, dropped across an array of metrics. Real median household income declined by 2.3% from $76,330 to $74,580, while real median earnings of all workers dropped 2.2%. The drop was less severe among full-time, year-round workers, who saw a 1.3% decline. Inflation soared 7.8% from 2021 to 2022, marking the largest single-year increase in cost of living since 1981. The Census Bureau statement follows some other bad economic news for the president. The unemployment rate in August rose from 3.5% to 3.8% while inflation ticked up to 3.2%, marking the first increase after a consistent, year-long decline. Biden has repeatedly insisted that economic conditions are improving in the United States and has consistently attributed the nominal upswing to his policies. Americans, however, appear skeptical of that assertion, with 37.8% approving of his handling of the economy in the RealClearPolitics polling average, compared to 58.9% who disapprove. https://www.foxnews.com/media/chicago-mayor-faces-pushback-local-leaders-plan-house-migrants-tents-help-your-people-first Chicago mayor faces pushback from local leaders for plan to house migrants in tents: ‘Help your people first' Democrat Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is facing opposition from local leaders after he asked that "all 50 city council members" find space in their wards to help house "more than 200 migrants" in tents, according to a new report. But some aldermen are pushing back on Johnson’s plans. "I've looked in my ward. I just don't have any available space. I have one of the most dense wards in the city," Alderman Brian Hopkins said, according to ABC7 Chicago. Alderman David Moore of the 17th Ward called on Chicago to help its own community first. "I'm a believer in help your people first, help yourselves first, help your community first. Then reach out and help others," Moore said. But some aldermen have also voiced support for Johnson’s plan to house migrants. Johnson has announced that he wants to relocate the city’s nearly 1,600 asylum-seeking migrants, currently living in police stations, to winterized camps with big tents before cold weather hits. Each of the massive tents will be able to hold up to 1,000 migrants, the mayor said, and under his plan the camps will provide meals as well as recreational and educational programming. Currently, 16 shelters in the city house 13,500 migrants, and more arrive every day. The Chicago Sun-Times reported the cost to shelter the 13,500 migrants costs the city about $30 million per month. Johnson and his administration are working with the state of Illinois and Cook County to establish more shelters to take some of the pressure off Chicago, the mayor said. "These families are coming to the city of Chicago," Johnson said. "If we do not create an infrastructure where we’re able to support and, quite frankly, contain these individuals who have experienced a great deal of harm, individuals who are desperate … that type of desperation will lead to chaos." Johnson's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"If we do not create an infrastructure where we’re able to support and, quite frankly, contain these individuals who have experienced a great deal of harm, individuals who are desperate … that type of desperation will lead to chaos." Johnson's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sir Isaac Newton, in a letter written in 1675 to fellow scientist Robert Hooke, wrote, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Chuck Colson was one of those giants for many of us, and it is our privilege to steward his legacy at the Colson Center. In fact, Chuck believed that his most important legacy, more than any of the organizations he founded or the many books he authored, would be people. That's why he started what he called the Centurions Program, something that continues today under a different name, the Colson Fellows program. Here's Chuck Colson on the important vision he had for this program: "I have a burning passion—it's the first item on my prayer list every day—and that's to see a movement of Christians raised up from the churches to defend truth in the marketplace of ideas and to live out the Gospel. Nothing less than this kind of an awakening can possibly save our quickly deteriorating culture. That's why I'm now spending all of my time working at Breakpoint and the Colson Center. One of my major projects is developing Christian leaders who can understand and defend a biblical view of all of life. We call this the Centurions Program. For the past six years we have brought 100 of the best and brightest into this year-long teaching effort, to study under some of the best minds in the Christian world. It's demanding: We read books together, view movies and critique them, do a lot of teaching online, and have three residencies during the year in Lansdowne, Virginia, near our offices. Our Centurion graduates are like the Marines or the Navy Seals who are on the front lines of the next wave of leaders. Can this work? Just two weeks ago I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a rally on behalf of the Manhattan Declaration. It was organized by the Catholic Archbishop of New Mexico, Michael Sheehan, and a former congressman named Bill Redmond, who is a Centurion graduate. You can imagine my thrill when I walked into the convention center to see 1,600 participants. And they were on fire! They were there to learn biblical worldview, to learn how to defend the sanctity of human life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty, to learn how to become activists! There were representatives from across the denominational spectrum: Southern Baptists, Nazarenes, Assemblies of God, Methodists, Presbyterians, Catholics. The Church had come together. And all of this was organized by one gutsy archbishop and one Centurion graduate. They in fact have built a powerful network across the state of New Mexico. So yes, it can be done. And our Centurions are doing a whole variety of important tasks across the spectrum. Like Jon Blankmeyer, who founded a safe home for girls rescued from forced prostitution. Josue Delgado, a hospital chaplain who teaches emergency medical technicians on how to build stronger marriages. Kathy Peele, who founded a group to help mothers under distress, and so many more. By the time they are certified, Centurions know how to write, discuss, and teach Christian worldview in all sorts of settings. They know how to create God-honoring culture through the arts, media, literature, and business. They're able to debate ethical challenges with medical professionals, advocate human rights, and develop tomorrow's leaders by raising children grounded in biblical values. In short, they learn to defend truth in an age in which many believe such a thing does not exist. Look, folks, the reason the Church today is having so little impact is too many Christians view their faith only in terms of a personal relationship with Jesus. But Christianity does not stop with salvation: That's only the beginning. We've got to learn how to present our worldview in a winsome way. And if we don't do this, it simply dooms our churches to isolation and irrelevance—just when our culture desperately needs the hope of the Gospel more than ever." After Chuck's death in 2012, the program he started as the Centurions Program was renamed the Colson Fellows program. I think Chuck would be ecstatic to know that this past year, over 1,300 Christians from across the country and around the world studied worldview, theology, and culture as part of the Colson Fellows program. He'd be even more excited to know all the ways the fellows are currently planning to apply what they've learned in the time and place God has called them. If you desire to make a similar impact in your community for Christ, consider studying with the Colson Fellows program next year. With over 60 regional cohorts around the country, there is likely a cohort in your region. If not, there are online cohorts offered as well. Either way, you'll find a deeper understanding of truth and be better equipped to live out your faith in this cultural moment in whatever calling and vocation God has put before you. Nigeria's Lagos state has suspended new guidelines on safe abortion to allow for more consultations. The guidelines were developed over four years and were meant to guide healthcare providers to provide safe and lawful abortion services within existing laws however religious leaders said they were not consulted. The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos early this week was quoted as saying the guidelines would legalise abortion through the backdoor. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says further sensitisation of the public and stakeholders was needed to ensure a clearer understanding of the guidelines.
Topics discussed on this episode include Father's Day, Dad Jokes, an armadillo that visited the shed, fires at U.S. food processing plants, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris not having lunch together, two Americans captured by the Russians, school children mistakenly fed floor sealant in Alaska, the greatness of Steph Curry, the NBA Draft, the coming A.I. takeover, a Catholic Archbishop that could allegedly be in two places at once, a review of Jurassic World: Dominion, and the phenomenon of feral children.
The Catholic Archbishop of San Fransisco, Salvatore Cordileone, has formally denied communion to U.S. House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, "until such time as [she] [publicly] repudiate [her] advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance." It's a thoroughly conventional decision that one is tempted to say is little more than the Catholic church being the Catholic church. The fact that so many people are receiving it as an affront, however, points up how deeply entrenched our individualism really is. So, what do we do when our personal desires are challenged by spiritual authority? Join Nathan and Cameron as they explore some of the implications of this question.
Join Erin and Christian as they discuss this week's headlines including recommendations for Nancy Pelosi not to receive communion by San Francisco's Catholic Archbishop, Biden's comments on Taiwan, Kamala Harris's lack of public appearances, and much more!
Father Jenkins and Thomas Naegele discuss: Omniscience and Christ's human nature — did Christ know the fig tree He cursed was barren? God gave the power, and it returned nothing; our Lord's parables about the vineyard and its fruitfulness; Israel's rejection of our Lord. Benedict XVI's resignation invalid due to substantial error? — was the error because of Vatican II? Could we use this situation to overturn Vatican II? — Benedict XVI's motives for resigning; the homosexual mafia; the resignation coerced?; Vigano on reexamining Benedict XVI's resignation — what is to gain?; the motive to invalidate Francis; the merits of the sedevacantist position; do you need to have the Catholic faith to be the pope?; Catholic position — no manifest heretic can be the pope; dogmatic sedevacantism and the authority to bind consciences; dogmatic anti-sedevacantism contradicting Catholic tradition; both dogmatic positions commit the same kind of error. Fr. Jenkins calling Daniel Dolan “Father” rather than “Bishop” and whether he took the vaccine; Fr. Jenkins — “Might have taken”, not “did take” the vaccine — asking the question; did not know Fr. Dolan's position on the vaccine; the death toll from the vaccine; some strongly against the vaccine still take it; little information still on cause of Fr. Dolan's death; controversy about Terri Schiavo's death; SSPV does not accept the legitimacy of the Thuc consecrations and certainly valid and Catholic; “Archbishop” is Vigano's public title in the Novus Ordo – not the same as a Catholic Archbishop. Messianic Jews — Jews who accept Jesus as the Messiah but promote the Jewish festivals; similarity to the Novus Ordo; not licit to celebrate the shadow when the reality has come; St. Paul and the Judaizers; St. Peter and the first general counsel in Acts 15 — converts and the law of Moses; St. Paul — we are not saved by the Law of Moses; Martin Luther adulterating Scripture about “law” and “faith”; Christ is the fulfillment of the Law; inserting mosaic judaism back into Christianity. The supreme court leaked draft on Roe vs. Wade; authentic but not final; who leaked it — collusion by one of the justices? Leftist leak to rally pressure against it?; Majority vote against Roe vs. Wade in draft; Politico — Justice Alito author of the draft; the count of those who had access to the draft keeps growing; the democrats' opposition to the filibuster; the democrats' fear of states in the union that will outlaw abortion; controversy about the legality of the leak; death of truth by experts; the media and stoking revolution; conservative call for investigation; legalizing the murder of babies — the beginning of the end for the U.S.A.?; Our Lady of Fatima — sin is the fundamental issue; the loss of faith; the faithful must not be intimidated; meekness — humility about our own opinions, but having a lion's heart for the honor of Christ; the democrats' double standard about “insurrection”. How to practice meekness when gravely wronged; extremely difficult; our Lord — forgive if you want to be forgiven; what others do to us vs. what we have done to our Lord; being wronged is a great opportunity; not against the law of Christ to seek redress; against the law of Christ to be moved by malice; is there something to gain by confrontation?; victory over ourselves for the sake of Christ is an amazing gain; opening the floodgates of God's forgiveness and mercy by being merciful. Great emotions of sorrow and joy when praying the Rosary — is this normal?; extreme emotions not necessarily a sign of holiness; extreme emotions not wrong if it does not draw attention to the person; preachers of old moved people to tears or great joy; be careful of mistaking emotions for the essence of prayer — raising the mind and heart to God. Welcome to Upper Marlboro, Maryland! The town was established in 1706 and was named Marlborough Town after an ancestor of Winston Churchill, John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. The town went through a few iterations until it ultimately landed on Upper Marlboro by 1893. The town was originally established as a port town on the western branch of the Patuxent River for tobacco shipments. Unfortunately, the clearing of land to cultivate tobacco caused erosion which ultimately led to sediment blocking the river and making in unnavigable. Without a way to move the tobacco to markets, the tobacco trade declined sharply. The town is also the birthplace of John Carroll, the Catholic Archbishop in America and the founder of Georgetown University. William Beanes, a doctor who was indirectly responsible for the situation that led to the writing of the national anthem, was born in the town. We hope you enjoy our visit to this delightful little town!

jQuery(document).ready(function(){ cab.clickify(); }); Original Podcast with clickable words https://tinyurl.com/yh5lrfyu Archbishop's petition about religious ceremonies. Achainí ardeaspaig faoi shearmanais reiligiúnacha. The Catholic Archbishop of Dublin has called on the Government to allow more people to attend Mass and funerals when some of the Level 5 social restrictions are eased next month. D'iarr Ardeaspag Caitliceach Bhaile Átha Cliath ar an Rialtas ligean do thuilleadh daoine dul ar Aifreann agus ar shochraidí nuair a mhaolófar cuid de shrianta sóisialta Leibhéál 5 an mhí seo chugainn. In his St. Patrick's Day address yesterday, Archbishop Dermot Farrell pointed out that religious worship has a clear priority over other activities and called for recognition of the constitutional right of people to attend church ceremonies when restrictions are relaxed. Ina aitheasc Fhéile Pádraig inné, thug an tArdeaspag Dermot Farrell le fios go bhfuil tosaíocht shoiléir ag adhradh reiligiúnach ar ghníomhaíochtaí eile agus d'achainigh sé aitheantas a thabhairt don cheart bunreachtúil atá ag daoine freastal ar shearmanais eaglasta nuair a bheas srianta á maolú. Currently, only up to ten people are allowed to be at a funeral and Dr Farrell said such badgers are only possible in the most extreme of circumstances and for the shortest possible distance. Faoi láthair, níl cead ach ag suas le deichniúr a bheith ar shochraid agus dúirt an Dr Farrell nach féidir broic lena leithéid ach amháin sna cúinsí is antoiscí ar fad agus ar feadh an achair is gairide agus is féidir. Speaking on RTÉ, he said that this restriction is too restrictive and could be eased a bit while keeping people safe at the same time. Ag labhairt dó ar RTÉ, dúirt sé go bhfuil an srian sin rórighin agus go bhféadfaí é a mhaolú beagán agus daoine a choimeád slán ag an am céanna. He did not have to be a halam olam in churches, he thought. Níor ghá go mbeadh sé ina holam halam i séipéil, dar leis. Look, for example, at the success of previous events where up to fifty people were allowed to attend church ceremonies, he said. Féach, cuir i gcás, mar a d'éirigh go maith le cúrsaí roimhe seo nuair bhí cead ag suas le leathchéad freastal ar shearmanais eaglasta, a dúirt sé. The Archbishop pointed out that the patience of the people is being broken and that this has often been communicated to him. Thug an tArdeaspag le fios go bhfuil ag briseadh ar fhoighne an phobail agus go bhfuil sé sin curtha in iúl ag daoine dó go minic.

COVID-19 VACCINEPremier Christian News reports that Catholic Archbishop, the Most Reverend John Wilson, has called for Governments to develop special strategies to ensure that marginalised and stigmatised communities, including people with leprosy, receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Archbishop Wilson stated "We know from the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom that protecting the health and wellbeing of the most vulnerable is a priority. As soon as vaccines against Covid-19 are available to every country, it is vitally important that disadvantaged communities, such as those affected by leprosy, are enabled to receive the same benefits from vaccination as the rest of society."BOOKS ABOUT PRAYERAccording to Religion News Service, several new books about prayer from popular Christian authors have landed on bookshelves in the past month — and they seem to be resonating with readers. “A Rhythm of Prayer: A Collection of Meditations for Renewal,” edited by progressive Christian author Sarah Bessey, made bestseller lists recently in both the United States and Canada. And the Rev. Queensland and the ACT last year introduced bans on conversion therapy, making the practice a criminal offence. Victoria is in the process of introducing legislation to do the same. But it faces opposition from some within religious communities, with Catholic and Muslim leaders today publishing a full-page open letter saying the legislation goes too far, and will “criminalise” conversations between parents and children. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.Perhaps, my fellow Americans, the most important political words ever written, EVER!These are the promises, the rights, unalienable rights of every person, all humankind, and especially, all Americans. These words should be memorized and drilled into the heads and hearts of every single American citizen.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. That means, House and Senate, don't go near religion legislatively. Don't make any law, direct or indirect, which in any way would favor, establish or support ANY RELIGION. For the most part, Congress has abided by that prohibition. In fact, the Congress of the United States at least at this point in time wants nothing to do with religion. In many ways, the Congress wants religion out of the public square, gone from the marketplace and out of public and certainly political life altogether.Which of course means that we the people should be concerned with Congress not establishing religion but:PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF.And they, the House and Senate with often a compliant judiciary are just beginning the legislative acts of PREVENTION which every American person of faith and in fact all Americans should understand and be concerned with.We live in a dramatic, aggressive even anti–religious day and age. Forces hostile to religion are on the march, everywhere. Religious life is threatened, churches are assaulted, Christian leaders and Pastors are threatened with severe fines and even jail time if they confront secular mandates. The fight of faith is on, big time.Recently, there was a spate of vandalism at Catholic churches in various US cities. There were attacks on Catholic institutions from Boston to Florida, church property was vandalized including and especially statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary so much so that one Catholic Archbishop said the following:“We have to be as vigilant as our Jewish brothers are vigilant against instances of anti–Semitism.”The vandals especially targeted statues of Jesus. That led the church to make yet another statement:“The underlying motive of these sacra religious attacks is clear: to intimidate and instill fear in the hearts of those who worship Christ.”That should not only send a message to the Catholic church, but to all churches, and synagogues, and even mosques. I wonder if these vandals, these terrorists would have the courage to attack the mosques and incur the ire of Muslims. Judeo – Christians by and large do not resort to violent retribution and of course right thinking Muslims the same. But if mosques were attacked by these fanatic, angry terrorists, I wonder how Islam would react. THE FIGHT OF FAITH IS ON, BIG TIME!First President and Constitutional Founder George Washington said the following:“Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society.”So that, if these two pillars of society are weakened or destroyed, society comes tumbling down. Lawlessness pervades, as it does even now in many quarters. Morality disappears, and license replaces responsible freedoms. ANYTHING GOES! Much of America is already there and it is time for the people of faith, all of them, every religion, to STAND UP, resist (the devil) and turn the tide back to where America once belonged:BUILT AND REBUILT UPON THE TWIN PILLARS OF RELIGION AND MORALITY.If not, America, its incredible republic and reliance upon democracy is done and over with. And this inconceivable end can come more quickly than anyone can imagine. If the Democrat party wins the presidency, and the House of Representatives, and the United States Senate, there will be a lurch to the left, a secularization of America the likes of which we have never seen nor even imagined. Many people think that a large part of the problem is the failure of the clergy to lead and respond. In a survey conducted by D. James Kennedy Ministries (DJKM), respondents by overwhelming margins want their Pastors to speak out, to lead, to take stands on moral and cultural issues. Federal legislation, including and especially the Johnson Amendment, prohibit Pastors and church leadership from being politically active within the boundaries of the church itself. But the survey found that the respondents want the Pastors to take a stand on so many of the issues of today, including and especially abortion. And, the respondents were deeply concerned with RELIGIOUS LIBERTY. And the role of government, and the role of the church in politics and government. But perhaps the main concern was:RELIGIOUS LIBERTY.The freedom to exercise religious beliefs anywhere, and especially in the public square. Freedom of speech, uninhibited, dealing with any and all issues whether political – secular or religious was indeed a most fundamental concern. Pastors FROM THE PULPIT (including of course Priests and Rabbi's) must have the unfettered and unabridged right to freedom of speech, the right and privilege of every American citizen anywhere and from any source. If the Pastors and other Christian leaders do not lead, take the initiative and captain the fight of faith:WHO WILL LEAD THE PEOPLE?So, Pastors and Christian leaders, this may be your – our last chance to step up, confront, resist and champion the free speech of religion, of an overactive and legislative threat from our very own Congress, and the right of people of faith to assemble, and to especially worship in church. Pastors must, MUST remember and be guided by the words of constitutional founder Benjamin Rush:“The only foundation for a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this, there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all Republican governments.”Religion, Pastors, is the foundation for our republic and without the right to believe, and practice the faith, and worship, and exercise all facets of that religion anywhere and everywhere including and especially the public square, there will not be any republic, NO AMERICA! Wake up and rise up Pastors, approach this spiritual battlefield with courage, determination and fight, FIGHT this fight of faith, and do it now, NOW!Across our nation, churches have been closed, ordered closed by secular governments everywhere, state by state. One Pastor, a very special servant of Jesus Christ, one John MacArthur with the full support of the elders of GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH in Sun Valley, California has stood up and announced to all that he and his church intended to:“OBEY GOD RATHER THAN MEN” (ACTS 5:29).In short, Grace Community Church intended to defy the order of California Governor Gavin Newsom which ordered the closing of indoor operations of churches. In a blog prepared by MacArthur and his church, WHICH YOU SHOULD READ, the biblical case for the churches duty to gather was laid out even though county and state officials threatened repercussions, including fines and criminal prosecutions. But MacArthur, soldier, brilliant theologian, and committed Christian refused to back down. In response to those threats and secular intimidation, John MacArthur issued the following statement:“We cannot and will not acquiesce to a government–imposed moratorium on our weekly congregational worship or other regular corporate gatherings.”Amen and amen! Congratulations, very special servant of the Lord for a spiritual stand second to none.In fact, MacArthur went on to warn government officials that when they issue orders regulating worship (or preventing it) (constitutional – prohibiting the free exercise thereof), they step outside the legitimate bounds of permissible authority and invade the sovereignty and authority of Jesus Christ and that cannot be allowed to stand! And that is the leadership of the clergy which America desperately needs, DESPERATELY! Congratulations, and thank you John MacArthur for your STAND and may the courage you have shown in behalf of your Lord, our Lord Jesus Christ be a witness, an inspiration and a model for Pastors and Christian leaders everywhere. And so, I ask of you my fellow Americans, fellow Christians:WHERE DOES YOUR PASTOR STAND?Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, Islamic cleric where does he or she stand, WHERE! Or, do they STAND UP for religious liberty and freedom in any way? It is your duty, our duty to make certain the Pastors stand and stand tall and firm and FIGHT THE FIGHT OF FAITH. And now, NOW! This work protecting freedom of religion must be done for the night is coming when no man, no clergy person, no Christian leader can work and that will not only be the end of the church as we know it, but, since religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society (George Washington) that will be the end of society as we know it.Challenge your Pastors and religious leaders, my fellow Americans, to stand up and meet this evil, secular force head on so that all people of faith can enjoy unabridged and unconditional the right to the free exercise of religion in any and every way. This freedom is absolutely essential, the very first freedom in the First Amendment to the Constitution. Congress cannot prevent the free exercise of religion in anyway, in any form.IF THIS FREEDOM IS LOST, IT WILL BE, AS PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN SO ELOQUENTLY STATED, BE LOST FOREVER!DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!

Today on TruNews we discuss the stunning letter sent to President Trump by Vatican ambassador Carlo Vigano, proclaiming that the Plandemic, the Antifa riots, and the congressional coup, are all works of Satan, and are being orchestrated by the demons of freemasonry. We detail the Jacobin roots of the Latin term “Solve Et Coagula” used by the Christian leader to describe their conspiracy, and how it ties into the Jacobin French Revolution and the dechristianization of France, the ultimate goal the satanists have for the rest of the world. What did Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò mean when he warned President Donald Trump with the obscure Latin phrase: Solve et Coagula – which is the tattoo printed on the two forearms of the Free-masonic Sabbatic Goat? (It’s also tattooed on the wrist of Harry Potter author JK Rowling). Dr. Marshall will explain what “Solve et Coagula” means and why occultists and magicians use the term. It’s a profound yet subtle warning by a Catholic Archbishop to the American President. Archbishop Viganò, the former Papal Nuncio to Washington DC, published an open letter to President Donald Trump claiming that pandemic misinformation and unrest in the cities are signs of a Deep State and a Deep Church inspired by forces of darkness. Dr. Taylor Marshall reads the letter of Archbishop Vigano and provides commentary based on his last several videos regarding President Trump and our current situation. Dr. Marshall also relates it to his research found his book Infiltration about the “Deep Church” being infiltrated by secret societies and political entities.
