In this episode, we sit down with Dinesh to break down the shifting landscape of American politics — from redistricting battles in Alabama to the lingering influence of Barack and Michelle Obama. We explore why Obama continues to insert himself into Democratic politics, whether Michelle has any real political ambitions, and how the cultural left has changed since the Obama years. We also dive into the growing divide inside the Democratic Party, the decline of celebrity political influence, and why many voters rejected the Obama legacy by turning sharply toward Trump. 00:00 – Opening & Guest Introduction 00:23 – Alabama Redistricting Fight Explained 02:51 – Will the Supreme Court Ruling Hold? 04:05 – How Redistricting Threatens Democrat Strongholds 05:34 – Will Michelle Obama Return to Politics? 09:31 – The Obamas’ Public Image vs. Reality 14:07 – Comparing Obama’s Global Vision to Modern Leaders 20:27 – Why the Left’s Cultural Strategy Is Backfiring Watch full clips of the Danielle Gill Show here: https://rumble.com/c/DanielleDsouzaGill/videos?e9s=src_v1_cmd Find the full audio show wherever you get your podcasts:Apple - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-danielle-gill-show/id1879812724 Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/3x6hMKFn1roWyzLzednxXL?si=nhZG0TauTOmkWBo_ieFhcw Follow Danielle Gill on all social platforms:X - https://x.com/danielledsouzag?s=21&t=EDXtjHM__JNF18166lWkTQInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/danielledsouzagillFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/share/14YvjS1Umni/?mibextid=wwXIfrTruth Social - https://truthsocial.com/@danielledsouzagillSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Nat and Kristen wrote their own obituaries - one involves a yacht, gin martinis, Michelle Obama, and a request for dramatic sobbing (guess who). The other is a manifesto. Both are surprisingly useful. This episode is about using your obituary as a filter: for your values, your career, and whether you're actually living the life you want or just a very organised version of the default one. Plus: living funerals, why the robot (AI) makes a terrible life coach, and what happens when you're too content to think big.Loved it? Share it and leave us a 5-star review! Got a topic for us? The contributing writer Peter Slevin met with Barack Obama at the new Obama Presidential Center, which opens next month, in Chicago, and asked him the question on a lot of Democrats' minds: Where is he, and why isn't he doing more to help the country in a moment of crisis? Slevin shares excerpts from his interview, during which Obama explains the limits of his role, and why he should no longer be the figurehead for his party. Slevin also speaks with David Remnick about why the famously optimistic President has lost some of his confidence in the American prospect. “I would be dishonest if I didn't acknowledge that,” Obama admitted. Further reading: “Barack Obama Considers His Role in the Age of Trump,” by Peter Slevin “Presidents' Days: From Obama to Trump,” by David Remnick New episodes of The New Yorker Radio Hour drop every Tuesday and Friday. Johnny Mac recaps a busy comedy week: Jimmy Kimmel interviews John Mulaney, joking about Stephen Colbert leaving TV and Mulaney having lived in Kimmel's guesthouse. Mulaney also appears on David Letterman's This Better Be Funny, featuring Paul Shaffer (standing ovation), news of Letterman executive producing a Shaffer documentary, and Letterman's career retrospective including a Richard Pryor compliment; Mulaney discusses family, projects, and praises Robbie Hoffman as a fearless original, while giving a noncommittal update on his Netflix talk show and calling the new Michael Jackson movie “stupid and bad.” Kevin Hart's Netflix competition Funny AF crowns Detroit comic Ron Taylor, who wins a Netflix special titled Elevate. Dave Chappelle on Michelle Obama's podcast defends comedy-room context for controversial jokes. It's time to change the name of ICE to NICE and President Trump seems to be on board to cap off a busy day at the White House. First, it was the return of the Presidential Fitness test for American kids, then Marco Rubio just crushed it filling in for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. All this... and Michelle Obama has a plan for her husband that I'm all in on. There's enough signatures in Alberta, Canada to put secession on the ballot in October as that province considers leaving Canada. The Royals are the hottest team in the American League winning 5 in a row and 9 of 11 to essentially be tied for first place. You've got to be kidding me. A vice president of the NFL in charge of scheduling makes it sounds like he's going to do a huge favor for the Chiefs early in the season. A former KU star is now the mayor of a town in Texas. Fox Sports wants to hire somebody to watch every game in the World Cup, Mark Cuban fesses up to paying millions to football players at Indiana University and the Met Gala is a circus.

Hey Doc,I just got back from ACOG and I'm still on a high!I went mainly to hear Michelle Obama speak and she did not disappoint. But what surprised me most was how deeply aligned her message was with everything I talk about here on Stethoscopes and Strollers. This wasn't some polished keynote speech full of inspirational fluff. It felt like sitting in on a private conversation between two accomplished Black women talking honestly about identity, confidence, womanhood, and what it takes to stay grounded in a world that constantly tries to tell women — especially Black women — who we should be.And the whole time I kept thinking:“Oh. This is exactly what I've been trying to help physician moms understand.”We talked about:Why confidence actually comes from knowing yourself deeplyHow long it can take to truly trust yourselfThe danger of shrinking your accomplishments to make other people comfortableWhy some people not connecting with you is not automatically a “you” problemHow motherhood and life transitions force you to confront who you really areThe importance of celebrating yourself unapologeticallyLearning to trust your knowing instead of overriding it with practicality or people-pleasingAlso… I found out Michelle Obama is 62 and now I need somebody to explain the sorcery immediately.Hearing someone at her level speak so openly about groundedness, self-trust, and identity felt incredibly validating. Especially as physician moms navigating careers, motherhood, marriage, leadership, ambition, and all the invisible expectations sitting on top of us every single day.If you've been questioning yourself…If you've been minimizing yourself…If you've been waiting for permission to trust your instincts…This conversation is for you.Press play, Doc.What did you think of the episode, doc? Hey Doc,I'm on my way to DC!My first home in this country. Howard. All of it.I'm going to ACOG's ACSM, our national meeting, which is funny, because I don't practice anymore. But this work I do with physician moms is rooted in the same transitions we see every day in medicine.Last year I went for physician wellbeing. This year, Michelle Obama is there, so… clearly I'm going. Also, it's my son's birthday weekend so I'm bringing the kids, there's a party, and yes—there will be a spa day. This episode is a little life update, a little reflection, and a reminder:You don't have to choose one version of yourself.Press play. What did you think of the episode, doc? When we wax poetic about the wonders of 2007 and 2008... what are we actually yearning for? Serendipity? Hope? The as-yet uncompromised belief that the arc of history bends toward justice? Or maybe just... a world without smartphones? Atlantic writer and bestselling novelist Xochitl Gonzalez joins the pod to talk about what it felt like to be at the epicenter of 2007/2008 nostalgia, and how it created the perfect backdrop for her take on very Brooklyn Great Gatsby. This was such a dynamic discussion, filled with tangents and joy and trying to parse the contradiction of feeling nostalgia for an era that objectively sucked... but also generated a feeling of optimism and possibility that many of us have not felt since. I can't wait for the discussion on this one. Brooklyn October 2008 (Chris McGrath/Getty Images) Thanks to the sponsors of today's episode! Life is full of change — whether you're ready for it or not. Brian From reflects on the personal transitions hitting close to home as his kids approach major milestones, and asks the question we all wrestle with: how do you hold on to what matters when everything around you is shifting? Brian also unpacks a striking survey showing that only 3.4% of worship leaders describe their mental health as excellent, and what church communities need to hear about that. Plus: why a viral Altoids moment between George W. Bush and Michelle Obama says something profound about what Americans are actually hungry for; a challenge to expand your view of worship beyond Sunday morning and a Spotify playlist; the surprising case that a mundane life is actually a courageous one; a cautionary tale about an AI-generated MAGA influencer who fooled millions; and a fresh look at Mary and Martha — and what Jesus was really saying about distraction, urgency, and choosing what's best.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Gavin Newsom is on borrowed time—and Eric Swalwell just showed you exactly how it ends. One minute you’re protected. Promoted. Untouchable. The next? You’re exposed, discarded, and politically finished. Swalwell’s fall isn’t random—it’s a warning. When Democrats decide you’re no longer useful, everything changes fast. Today, we break down what I’m calling the Democrat blackmail machine. Allegations of honeypots, hidden cameras, and political traps used to keep their own in line. Step out of line or lose your value… and suddenly your past isn’t so private anymore. Now ask yourself—why is Newsom suddenly vulnerable? Because there’s a bigger play in motion. Michelle Obama. The name being floated. The candidate the media won’t challenge. The one the party can rally around instantly. And if that’s the plan, Newsom isn’t the future—he’s the obstacle. Swalwell was the preview. Newsom could be next. And Michelle Obama may be the endgame. We connect the dots. We ask the questions others won’t. And we show you how this game is really played. Vice President JD Vance just dropped the bad news — after an intense 21-hour face-to-face negotiation at the luxury Serena Hotel in Islamabad, the United States and Iran have failed to reach a peace agreement to end the six-week war that has rocked the Middle East. The high-stakes talks, the first direct high-level meetings between the two nations in over a decade, broke down when Iran refused to give a firm commitment to abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions. Iran, in turn, demanded full control of the Strait of Hormuz, the right to continue uranium enrichment, no limits on ballistic missiles, and war reparations. With the fragile two-week cease-fire now hanging by a thread, the risk of renewed fighting is rising fast. Vance called it the U.S.'s "final and best offer" — will this lead to escalation or more rounds of diplomacy? What do you think happens next? Drop your thoughts below
Work is changing, not ending—what it takes to stay relevant in an AI-driven world.Careers aren't ladders anymore — they're climbing walls. As Aneesh Raman puts it, “work is changing, not ending,” and success today depends on how well you can navigate change and explain your path along the way.Raman is the Chief Economic Opportunity Officer at LinkedIn and a former presidential speechwriter for Barack Obama. His work focuses on the future of work and how individuals can adapt in an AI-driven world. In his book Open to Work, he argues that the most valuable skills today aren't technical — they're human. “We now have this technology that's gonna do more, better, faster… It will out efficiency us,” he explains. But that shift creates opportunity: “When you recognize that humans aren't meant to be machine-like, and that machines will eventually out machine us, that isn't the end state. It's going to be a more entrepreneurial era where we're going to rely on our unique ability to imagine, to invent, to create.”In this episode of Think Fast Talk Smart, Raman and host Matt Abrahams explore what it takes to navigate a rapidly changing workplace. From the “Five C's” to practical ways to redesign your role around human strengths, Raman shares how to stay relevant as work evolves, the power of audience-first communication, and why great storytelling starts with understanding yourself. To listen to the extended Deep Thinks version of this episode, please visit FasterSmarter.io/premium.Episode Reference Links:Aneesh RamanAneesh's Book: Open to Work226. She didn’t go on a missionary journey. She didn’t preach to a crowd. She didn’t write a letter that would become Scripture. She raised a son who did. In this episode of the Bible Moms series, Kate and Rebecca uncover the story of two women you’ve probably skimmed right past — Lois and Eunice, the grandmother and mother of Timothy. With only one verse of Scripture to their name, these women are easy to overlook. But what they built inside the walls of their home — without a Bible, without a believing husband, in the middle of a pagan city — became the foundation for one of the most significant young leaders in the entire New Testament. If you’ve ever felt like your daily mothering doesn’t matter, like you’re just going through the motions, like the laundry and the carpool and the wiping noses couldn’t possibly be kingdom work — this episode is your permission slip. Because what Lois and Eunice teach us is that ordinary faithfulness has extraordinary impact. Every time. Without exception. Even when you can’t see it yet. TAKEAWAYS FOR MOMS 1. Your faith is forming your children — whether you realize it or not. You are always planting something. The question is what. What you model, repeat, and return to inside your home is shaping your kids in ways you won’t fully see for years. 2. You don’t need perfect circumstances to raise a godly kid. Eunice was raising Timothy in a divided home, in a pagan city, without a believing husband and potentially without his father in the picture at all. God didn’t wait for perfect conditions. He used what she had. 3. You are preparing your children to recognize truth — even when you’re not there. You can’t control every room your child walks into. But you can build the foundation so that when they encounter truth — or a lie — they know the difference. 4. God goes ahead of you in the gaps. Timothy may have grown up without a believing father figure. But God sent him Paul. If there are holes in your child’s life you can’t fill, pray boldly — God is faithful to provide. 5. Ordinary faithfulness is holy work. As Elisabeth Elliot said, it is through the ordinary, faithful carrying out of daily duties that union with God is formed. The feeding, the teaching, the repeating — it’s all kingdom work.
