I never truly understood the depth of emotional scars until Karen Fullerton, a certified quantum energy practitioner, walked me through her profound journey of healing. Her story, marked by struggles with emotional neglect and self-abuse, sheds light on the invisible wounds many of us carry and the critical importance of facing them head-on. In our heartfelt conversation, Karen teaches us to view emotions not just as feelings but as frequencies that shape our reality. She opens up about her childhood experiences, illustrating how these vibrational energies can either ensnare us or set us free, depending on our ability to recognize and transform them into joy and liberation. Throughout this episode, we traverse the transformative path of emotional awareness and self-empowerment. Karen encourages us to become present with our emotions, to sit with them and observe them without judgment as a means to catalyze change. We delve into the power of vibrational frequencies in shaping our life experiences and how they can help us attract what we truly desire. The episode is rounded off with a discussion on the union of music and emotional healing, and we peek into "The Seven Insights to Emotional Wellness," Karen's online course which promises to revolutionize how we deal with our emotions and guide us toward a state of emotional well-being. Join us on this journey as we learn to harmonize our inner frequencies and create a life resonating with happiness and health. Karen Fullerton in her own words Don't give up. Spiral Up. Too many women and service-oriented entrepreneurs feel like giving up on their dreams. They lose faith in themselves because results aren't equaling their efforts and burnout sets in. I know I did! I didn't always integrate energy principles in my executive or entrepreneurial business career, even as a quantum energy practitioner. I'm not talking Law of Attraction or the power of positive thinking. In fact, these masculine principles are only half of the equation, and why I experienced entrepreneurial struggles. My determination and independent nature as a Gen Xer resisted anything other than the power of the mind as the only driver of success! Even with my 4.0 GPA in business and entrepreneurial mindset… It took the closing of my marketing business and filing bankruptcy before I allowed feminine energy principles, spirituality, and a bit of physics to co-create my strategy for my most fulfilling success: Founder of The Sergei Foundation—a nonprofit organization raising more than 1 million dollars to save the lives of more than 5,000 pets for lower-income families. It's often easy to see how others are mean, abusive, or terrible in our eyes, but it's another world to see where we do it to ourselves. Where do you self-abuse and what does it look like? In this episode, I explore conversations I've had with clients, and myself, in order to explore four specific ways we can self-abuse. What if you were willing to be honest and present enough with yourself to change this for you and, in return, begin to change how others treat you?Four Ways We Self-Abuse:By making others greater than ourselves for the same tasks and talking ourselves down.By making someone's needs, desires and wants of you more important than your own.By judging you for anything you do or don't do, and choose or don't choose, rather than acknowledging it's a choice.By trying to make yourself fit into the way other people see you or desire you to be.How To Stop Doing It:Acknowledge where you are great and be willing to see the beliefs you have about yourself.Communicate what you require in life and demand it of you and your relationships.Build a sense of who you are and trust yourself to know what's really going on. No more doubt!Be willing to reflect on where you do these things to yourself, be honest and present with yourself, and start looking at the steps you can take to change it.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is known globally for its massive missionary force. Over the past year we have received several independent reports suggesting serious distress in the Mormon missionary program, including: A sharp decline in the number of LDS missionaries overall. A sharp decline in the number of young men willing to serve missions. A significant increase in the number of LDS missionaries returning home early. Troubling new rhetoric/teachings from Mormon church leadership suggesting (out of seeming desperation) that Mormon missionary service for young men is mandatory/compulsory. On Thursday at 4pm (mountain) we will be exploring this issue. If you have any data or stories regarding these (or other) developments regarding Mormon missionary work, please post them as comments below, or email us at: mormonstories@gmail.com and we can include your input in the show (anonymously if requested). This story is from the Evergetinos (Sayings of the Desert Fathers) as related by St. Amphilochios of Icononium. Take courage all who struggle with this most grievous sin, the sin of self-abuse (masturbation). “Resist to the point of shedding your blood” (Hebrews 12:4) and remember the immeasurable love God has for you. Seek a spiritual guide if you do not already have one. The fight is spiritual and we need a guide to learn from and be obedient to. Every moment you offer your will to God and obey His commandments you receive both temporal and eternal rewards. The Lord says to satan regarding the man who again repented of his self-abuse, “You, when he turns again to sin, do not turn him away, but receive him with joy, neither chastising him nor preventing him from committing sin, out of the hope that you might win him over. Yet, I, Who am merciful and love mankind, Who counseled My laudable Apostle Peter, to forgive sins seven times seventy (Matt. 18:22), do I not show him mercy and compassion? Indeed – simply because he flees to Me – I will not turn him away until I have won him over. Furthermore, I was crucified for sinners and for their salvation; My immaculate hands were nailed to the Cross, that those who so wish might take refuge in Me and be saved. For this reason, then, I neither turn away nor reject anyone, even if he should fall many times a day and many times return to Me; such a person will not leave My Temple saddened, for I came not to call the righteous, but to call sinners to repent.” Text: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElzfY...A different translation: https://iconandlight.wordpress.com/20... ‘Indecision is the thief of opportunity.' Are you delaying making a very important decision? Do you trust yourself enough to make those important decisions? Staying in a state of indecision is very costly! In this episode Joanne tells some personal stories of how indecision prolonged and stunted her opportunity to grow. If she made the decisions earlier, and even the wrong decisions, she could have been moving faster towards her goals. Explore how decision and purpose align as Joanne takes you through the deep rooted mindset behind indecision and how it is a form of self abuse. My guest this episode is Justin. Born with a congenital heart defect, Justin was brought up on a farm and still had to do the strenuous chores like his siblings. Believing he wasn't going to live a long life, he struggled to find where his life was going, abusing alcohol, Justin was married for 11 years to someone who didn't hold much for their future and after his third open heart surgery was forced into being a stay at home husband while his wife became the main income earners, as a role reversal his wife didn't appreciate his efforts looking after their son, looking after the home & the financial management. All the while he struggled with his own mortality he severely self abused. Justin grew out of his marriage that became toxic as he tried to find a purpose to his life after being told he more than likely he would possibly live for another 20 years, he restructured his mental well being and found ways to help others, find his peace and created a future dream of living in a sustainable cabin that he will open to others to give them a place to reset. Justin's story is one of pure resilience with a daily death warrant hanging over his head.

It's not what you do it's how you do it. It's the timing, it's the energy around it, it's your consciousness about your choice and your self-awareness. Many people are involved with self-indulgence or self-abuse rather than self-care. It is complex. Self-care also has to do with having parenting skills so that you can help yourself mature and handle the challenges of life and if you have no idea what healthy parenting looks like you will be unable to do this part of self-care until you learn.

She discovered she had lived her life addicted to the cycle of self-abuse and began the journey of breaking that cycle forever.
Last time we talked Endless Trauma Loops pt I, I recounted the disappointing discovery that I've been living the same trauma-born mistakes for the past 10 years on repeat. I was both so smart - and clearly so fucking dense - to get stuck in the same life-halting traps for a decade. So, what are those repeat mishaps? Stagnancy and overdrive, tough relationships, anxious attachments, health-obsession and abuse, escapism, and an undercurrent of giving up on myself, to name a few... Sounds familiar? Eek, sorry Fucker. But also, while I was too dumb to stop making the same choices in different costumes on repeat, at least I had SOME idea of the right ways to get out of it. There are also positive notes of gratitude, confidence, optimism, and narrative thinking, for short-lived times. If I want to break the loops, I just have to make sure that my trauma brain doesn't push these ways of thinking to the back of the line again. I got it this time - hopefully. How bout you? The Story Teller and Branden Johnson converse about their personal experiences with the many forms of Abuse in particular: Church, Friendship, and Self Abuse
Narcissistic abusers abuse others but they are also abusing themselves. In fact, anything that is done to disrespect, mistreat, berate or humiliate the self is considered self abuse. Many people do this and do not realize they are in fact their own abusers. It is important to identify the enemy within and heal the wounded inner child that presents itself as a malicious and abusive inner critic.

This won’t hurt one little bit.

How do you speak to yourself? Do you speak lovingly to yourself looking for all that you're doing well and encouraging yourself every moment of the day? Or, do you speak from a place of harsh criticism and condemnation as you scour your behavior looking for everything you've done wrong? If you're not loving yourself in every way possible then you're participating in self-abuse. Even if you aeat well, get plenty of rest and take your supplements, if you're not loving yourself, you're doing the most damage to your being possible. If you're ready to step out of self-abuse and into self-love Join me on Sunday, June 9th at 4 pm PST, 7 pm EST, Monday, June 10th at 9 am AEST as we explore how to love and honor every aspect of your being. Today I pose the question, Is abuse cyclic? According to the dictionary, one of the definitions of cyclic is - occurring in cycles; regularly repeated. Download Episode Abuse of Others While I do not believe that all victims of abuse inflict abuse onto other innocent people, I do know that many do enact various forms of maltreatment on the innocent or mistreat themselves. The self-hate one feels, often is redirected towards the people who are the closest to you. As re-offending pertains to maltreatment of others, the abuse can manifest itself in forms of : 1. Verbal/Emotional abuse - can be equally or more damaging as physical abuse because it is aimed to destroy how one feels about oneself. 2. Physical abuse - is used to keep one subservient to another or intimidate. 3. Abandonment - the abused victim cannot care for themselves much less another person, or they are afraid to get close, so they’d rather stay away. One thing we must understand is that Abuse says more about the abuser than the victim; it echos, “I feel inadequate, I feel incomplete, I feel inferior, I am scared, and I need you to respect me even if I have to force you to.” Self-Abuse I find most people who were abuse more often abuse themselves than they do others. Some victims internalize the pain they feel by turning to substance abuse, alcohol, or prostitution. If not prostitution, they allow men to abuse their body by having numerous partners whose sole intention is to perpetuate the cycle of abuse. In my situation, I abused myself by : 1. Allowing others to mistreat me - in the form of cheating, getting physical, and being verbally abusive towards 2. Mistreating myself - by dwelling in that place of sorrow, feeling unworthy of love, not feeling beautiful, feeling like I deserved less than or was born unlucky 3. Isolating self - I would rather be alone than have to deal with people’s foolishness. But while isolation made me feel safe and can be freeing, it robbed me of relationships and friendships. 4. Self-sabotage- Can be intentional or unintentional. In self-sabotage, carry yourself in a manner in which deter others from wanting to be in your presence, or you may fail to complete the steps necessary for positive growth and change. Conclusion In closing, I want anyone listening to know that while abuse can be cyclic, it does not have to be. The key to prevention is to recognize the signs and address them right away by implementing some form of intervention measures. If you or someone you know has been the victim of abuse, seek help. Help does not have to be professional. You can tell your partner, family, or friends about what is happening and garner the support you need from them. I find that when people know your story, they are more inclined to be understanding and deliberate when dealing with you. Talking about abuse and not keeping it secret can also help a person not to become a perpetrator or inflict self-harm. Understanding that you are not to blame for your circumstance and that you are worthy of love is the first steps towards healing.

In this episode of 'The Secrets to Health' we explore the theme of how being hard on oneself is symptomatic of deep feelings of low self worth which result from childhood neglect and abuse, and the 3 top things we must do to turn self neglect and abuse into self love and self nurturing. The child who experiences love, validation, nurturing, support and cherishing will grow up feeling good about themselves. They will feel worthy, valued, confident, empowered and positive. This in turn will lead to happiness, good health, healthy relationships, financial and career success. The child who grows up experiencing abuse, neglect and rejection will self-reject, self-harm and self-neglect. They will feel unworthy of receiving love, success, abundance and happiness. This in turn leads to chronic unhappiness, depression, anxiety, illness, eating disorders and more. http://www.kimknighthealth.com

Fear of being seen for fear of rejection, shame, or indifference is familiar to so many. Spiritually, we know these are old issues and do not fit our lives today. As we waste time in this dimension of fear, we age and begin to have a different fear. Now, we just wish someone could really see us. Visibility means someone can actually recognize or re-think who we are. The irony is that the re-thinking of self begins with us. In truth, one's capacity to see another is based on their own skill of self-reflection.
Tre Shortland was raised in Oakland, CA as a bi-racial Mormon (Filipino mother and New Zealander/Maori father). While he was very committed doctrinally to Mormonism, he was not crazy about Mormon culture, and was taught the fundamentals of critical thinking from a young age. Prior to and during his mission, Tre was tormented by doubts, along with teachings and rules regarding "self abuse." For over a year on his mission Tre was taught that lack of success on his mission was due to these practices/weaknesses. After becoming zone leader, Tre became aware of a sex scandal that reached the highest levels of missionary leadership. This is Tre’s story. The music for today's episode is from Tre's band: http://www.Seaviewmusic.com. The song is called "Relativity."

I have been carrying around a 4 by 6 card that carries two affirmations. One affirmation stems from one of my father's old sayings: "Boy, you're always just a day late and a dollar short." Like many addicts and co-dependents, I have taken on the abuse given so freely to me and made it my own. That I'm always "a day late and a dollar short" comes into my thoughts frequently. That's self abuse. So my affirmations is: "I am always on time and I have plenty of money." This statement reverses my thinking and miraculously changes my behavior. The other affirmation is "All geniuses are dingbats." That's for when I lose my keys or go charging off on a mission that is bound to fail. So I try to choose my battles better and give everything I do my best shot. I forgive myself for making minor mistakes in the small things in life. I try to look at the big picture.
