When healing or progress stalls, it's frequently due to stagnant energies or disruptive entities within the earth or built space. She works to clear these distortions while helping the client understand why they were there to begin with.In Emily's Akashic Records, we dive into:-healing & client dynamics-higher dimensional themes, protection, & energetic patterns-dragon energy & support in higher frequencies-creating powerful energy shields from the heart-personal symbols & spiritual connections…and so much more!CONNECT WITH EMILYInnate AwakeningLINKS MENTIONEDCheck out “Oracles Gone Wild” with Amy Belair & Andrea DonnellyWatch the FREE masterclass:  F*ck the False Matrix!Join the “Mystery Offer” (Creation Codes

The Brian Walshe murder trial took a stunning turn Thursday morning when the defense rested without calling a single witness. Not Brian Walshe. Not their forensic experts. Not the medical professional who was supposed to explain how a healthy 39-year-old woman just drops dead in bed. Nothing. This comes just 24 hours after Walshe's attorneys told the judge he would take the stand. Instead, when asked directly by Judge Diane Freniere, Walshe confirmed: "I will not testify." After eight days of prosecution testimony and 50 witnesses, the defense offered zero counter-evidence to support the "sudden unexplained death" theory they promised in opening statements.  This morning, both sides deliver 45-minute closing arguments, then deliberations begin. The prosecution built their case on Brian Walshe's Google searches starting at 4:52 a.m. on January 1st, 2023 — searches for how to dispose of a body, how to dismember, hacksaw recommendations, and how to clean DNA from a knife. The jury saw surveillance footage of Walshe buying hatchets, hacksaws, Tyvek suits, and cleaning supplies while wearing a surgical mask and blue gloves, paying in cash. They heard that Ana's DNA was found on the hacksaw blade with statistical certainty in the nonillions. They learned about the $2.7 million life insurance policy naming Brian as sole beneficiary, and the affair with D.C. real estate broker William Fastow — whose name Brian searched on Christmas Day 2022. Brian Walshe has already pleaded guilty to dismembering Ana's body and misleading police. He faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder. We break down everything the jury heard, what the defense accomplished in cross-examination, and what to expect as this case goes to deliberation. #BrianWalshe #AnaWalshe #WalsheTrial #TrueCrime #MurderTrial #ClosingArguments #Massachusetts #CohassetMurder #TrueCrimeNews #JusticeForAna Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In late May 2025, three young sisters—Paityn Decker (9), Evelyn Decker (8), and Olivia Decker (5)—disappeared during a scheduled visit with their father, Travis Caleb Decker. Days later, their bodies were discovered in a wooded area near Rock Island Campground in the Cascade Mountains. Investigators uncovered forensic evidence, including DNA, linking their father to the killings, prompting a massive months-long manhunt across rugged mountain terrain. In mid-September, human remains identified as Travis Decker's were located in a remote forested area, officially ending the manhunt and criminal proceedings. Yet significant questions remain—about motive, the final weeks of Decker's life, and the systemic factors that may have contributed to this tragedy. The case has left a lasting impact on the Wenatchee and Leavenworth communities and continues to shape discussions about child safety, mental‑health intervention, and parental visitation procedures and safeguards. For resources to report abuse or neglect visit Washington State DCYF or the National Childhelp Hotline. Visit our website! Find us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Patreon, & more! In this week's shiur, we explore one of the most electrifying themes in Torah: the power of yearning. From Yaakov Avinu's inability to be comforted over Yosef, to Rebbe Nachman's legendary teaching of “Never give up hope,” we uncover the spiritual DNA inside every Jew — the part of us that's still a na'ar, still searching, still asking, still alive.Yosef HaTzaddik is called a “na'ar” because he tapped into that inner childlike curiosity — the part of us that refuses to settle, that refuses to stop seeking Hashem. Deep down, Yaakov knew Yosef was alive, because deep down we all know:

It requires a nonrefundable $15,000 processing fee plus a “contribution” or “gift” of at least $1 million per individual (or $2 million via an employer sponsor), with additional amounts for dependents. The funds go to entities like the U.S. Department of Commerce, and applicants must prove a lawful source of money, similar to the EB-5 investor visa.  The process involves filing a new Form I-140G, followed by consular processing abroad—no in-country adjustment of status is allowed—and approvals can happen in weeks, though backlogs from per-country caps (especially for Indian or Chinese nationals) may still cause delays for the actual green card. This program is separate from the H-1B visa system, which remains a temporary work visa for skilled professionals with issues like annual caps (85,000 visas, including 20,000 for advanced degree holders), a random lottery selection process, and criticisms of abuse (e.g., companies using it to displace U.S. workers or suppress wages via outsourcing firms). In fact, alongside the Gold Card, the Trump administration introduced a separate $100,000 one-time entry fee for H-1B applicants to deter such abuses and ensure only “the best and brightest” use it. https://twitter.com/TheRubberDuck79/status/1998791717752062345?s=20  Autopen. https://twitter.com/KobeissiLetter/status/1998407015756964343?s=20   to decide if it gets a floor vote. I hope they do the right thing. The Affordability Crisis Is Not a ‘Hoax.' It Is an Existential Threat to the American Dream.  Recently, President Trump has been quoted as referring to the affordability crisis as a “Democrat scam,” “hoax,” and “con job.” Although I think Trump was likely trying to remind Americans that policies enacted when Democrats had total control of the federal government under the first two years of the Biden administration accelerated and exacerbated the affordability problem, it is dangerous for the president to use that type of language. Already, mainstream media reprobates are twisting Trump's words, leading people to believe that he is saying the affordability crisis does not exist.  In proper context, Trump is not denying that middle- and lower-class Americans are struggling to make ends meet; rather, he is trying to assign blame and hang the affordability crisis on the Democrats. But even doing that is politically unwise.  The American people are not nearly as concerned with pointing fault as they are with seeking immediately viable solutions to the untenable reality they face. For many Americans, the affordability crisis is so severe that they think the American dream is no longer within reach. In fact, only 22 percent of young Americans think they will be better off than their parents. The improved upon “Code of Conduct Plus” continues to be an important tool under the DSA: “On 20 January 2025, the revised Code of conduct on countering illegal hate speech online + (the ‘Code of conduct+') was integrated into the regulatory framework of the Digital Services Act (DSA), following a positive assessment from the Commission and the European Board for Digital Services. The Code of conduct+, which builds on the Code of Conduct adopted in 2016, strengthens the way online platforms deal with content deemed illegal hate speech according to EU law and Member States' laws. It facilitates compliance with and the effective enforcement of the DSA in this specific area.” This new Conduct Code+ was established as a “DSA Code of conduct”. This empowered civil society organisations to act as watchdogs. “Following its integration, adherence to the Code of conduct+ may be considered as an appropriate risk mitigation measure for signatories designated as Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) and Search Engines (VLOSEs) under the DSA.” “The DSA classifies platforms or search engines that have more than 45 million users per month in the EU as very large online platforms (VLOPs)” https://twitter.com/emd_worldwide/status/1998556257251152246?s=20   letter confirms the details of that action. In all fairness, the Democrats have been doing Redistricting for years, and continue to do so. Unfortunately, Indiana Senate “Leader” Rod Bray enjoys being the only person in the United States of America who is against Republicans picking up extra seats, in Indiana's case, two of them. He is putting every ounce of his limited strength into asking his soon to be very vulnerable friends to vote with him. By doing so, he is putting the Majority in the House of Representatives, Washington, D.C., at risk and, at the same time, putting anybody in Indiana who votes against this Redistricting, likewise, at risk. The people of Indiana don't want the Party of Sleepy Joe Biden, Kamala, Ilhan Omar, or the rest to succeed in Washington. Bray doesn't care. He's either a bad guy, or a very stupid one! In any event, he and a couple of his friends will partner with the Radical Left Democrats. They found some Republican “SUCKERS,” and they couldn't be happier that they did! Guys like Failed Senate Candidate Mitch Daniels, who I opposed in his Race against Senator Jim Banks, and Cam Savage, whoever that is, are fighting against the Republican Party, all the way. Bray and his friends are the favorite Republicans of Hakeem Jeffries, Crazy Nancy Pelosi, and Cryin' Chuck Schumer. Anybody that votes against Redistricting, and the SUCCESS of the Republican Party in D.C., will be, I am sure, met with a MAGA Primary in the Spring. If Republicans will not do what is necessary to save our Country, they will eventually lose everything to the Democrats. Rod Bray and his friends won't be in Politics for long, and I will do everything within my power to make sure that they will not hurt the Republican Party, and our Country, again. One of my favorite States, Indiana, will be the only State in the Union to turn the Republican Party down! Master Messenger: Trump Goes Full MAGA at Pennsylvania Rally, Hands GOP the 2026 Talking Points The master messenger is at it again, this time handing the GOP the 2026 midterm talking points directly. During a rally Tuesday evening in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, President Trump reminded both Republicans and Democrats of just how savvy a messenger he can be when energizing his base. He crushed former President Joe Biden and his administration for overseeing the runaway inflation we are still battling today. He discussed his efforts to bring higher wage jobs to American workers, not illegal aliens. He dismantled Obamacare, highlighting high costs and the trillions in taxpayer dollars given to insurance companies instead of the American people. President Trump went full MAGA. The  message was clear: Republicans, take this message and run with it during the 2026 midterm election cycle. President Trump tore apart Obamacare. He is tired of insurance companies lining their pockets with Obamacare subsidies, and stated once again that he wants that money sent directly to the American people. Imagine being able to use your own money to purchase health insurance instead of those dollars going straight to the insurance companies? For Republicans in 2026, this is a smart policy that could excite the base in an election cycle where President Trump is not on the ballot. Healthcare across America, in many cases, is unaffordable and frustrating. This is certainly an area where the GOP can make up ground with sound policy ideas. President Trump has essentially closed our southern border by the sheer power he wields through the executive branch. The administration has now moved to tackle illegal immigration within our borders, in regards to both deportations and American jobs taken by illegal aliens.  Since President Trump took office, 100 percent of all net job creation has gone to American citizens. That is an amazing statistic that every GOP House and Senate member should be touting on the campaign trail. Not for nothing, but President Trump is also clearly tired of immigrants coming to America who do not care to fully assimilate or share our values. President Trump also announced a permanent pause on third-world migration, “including from hellholes like Afghanistan, Haiti, Somalia, and many other countries.” This is a very smart and, frankly, important policy. During the recent off-year election cycle, many Americans learned for the first time how many third-world immigrants have infiltrated major American cities. This is a winning message and one the GOP should carry into 2026. Finally, the deadly drugs have got to stop flowing into this country. President Trump has taken lethal action that is sure to have every drug boat planning to bring drugs to America second-guessing that decision. For some Republicans who support Trump’s policy but have struggled to properly communicate the importance to their constituents, the president simplified the issue for the entire party. Investigators zeroed in on a suspect quickly, and despite coerced confessions and a lack of DNA evidence, four men were arrested and charged with the murder. Danial Williams, Joe Dick, Eric Wilson, and Derek Tice all recanted their “confessions”. Eventually, another suspect, Omar Ballard, who had a criminal history of very similar crimes also confessed, but that didn't stop prosecutors from going after the Norfolk Four. Back in 2013, Robin wrote a Listverse article profiling ten heartbreaking cases of unidentified people found under mysterious circumstances—Jane and John Does whose names seemed lost forever. At the time, they were buried under placeholder names like “Little Miss Panasoffkee,” “Lyle Stevik,” and “Beth Doe,” with investigators following dead-end leads and families never knowing what happened to their loved ones. But here's the incredible part: they're not mysteries anymore. Thanks to groundbreaking advances in DNA technology, forensic genealogy, and tireless cold case investigators, several of these forgotten souls have finally gotten their names back. Over this three-episode series, we'll revisit each case from Robin's original article, share the haunting details that captivated true crime followers for decades, and reveal the remarkable breakthroughs that solved them. You'll hear about Little Miss Panasoffkee, identified in October 2025 after 54 years through cutting-edge fingerprint technology; Lyle Stevik, whose identity was uncovered by genetic genealogy but remains protected by his family's wishes; Beth Doe, the brutally murdered pregnant teen who turned out to be 15-year-old Evelyn Colon; Baby Hope, identified as 4-year-old Anjelica Castillo after an anonymous tip; and the Grateful Dead fan finally named as Jason Callahan after Reddit sleuths and DNA testing brought him home. We'll also cover El Dorado Jane Doe (now known as “Kelly”), Caledonia Jane Doe (Tammy Jo Alexander), and explore which cases still remain unsolved, waiting for that one crucial breakthrough. Each episode will take you through the original mystery, the painstaking investigation, and the emotional moment when these unidentified people finally got their dignity—and their names—back.Support the Show: Patreon.com/julesandashleyPatreon.com/thetrailwentcold

In this episode of the Smart Real Estate Coach Podcast, I sit down with Alex Arguelles—CEO, co-founder, and operator who scaled from a two-man startup in a garage to 9,000+ units across multiple states by his early 30s. We unpack how he started buying distressed debt right out of college in 2007–2008, raised 100% investor capital, vertically integrated management, and navigated all the headaches that come with growing from 3 employees to 175 and working through 15,000 apartments over 13 years.     We talk about raising credibility when you're young and broke, hiring (and firing) your first key people, managing teams in multiple states, and why Alex believes your unfair advantage is your willingness to "just learn" by getting your hands dirty. Then we fast-forward to today and dive into his new national sale-leaseback platform, Sell2Rent, how it helps investors buy cash-flowing homes with prepaid rent, and why he thinks the people willing to take smart risks in this cycle will be the ones ahead in 2–3 years.   If you're trying to go from one or two deals to building something scalable, whether that's a lean portfolio or a full-blown company. This one's a real-world masterclass in cycles, capital, people, and mindset.   Key Talking Points of the Episode   00:00 Introduction 01:01 Meet Alex Arguelles: From 21-year-old founder to 9,000 units 02:16 Scaling from 3 people to 175 employees before exiting in 2020 03:24 Running toward the fire: distressed debt & vertical integration 05:03 No burn, no money, and desensitized to risk 06:48 The problems with building credibility as a young investor 08:02 Dealing with doubters and how pain tolerance plays into his success 09:06 Learning through Mortgage for Dummies and no YouTube  10:05 Lessons from scaling across states on culture, DNA & hiring remotely 11:20 The importance of hiring better people to avoid big, expensive mistakes 15:04 Where investors can find opportunities in real estate today 16:36 The Florida real estate market: valuations and rents holding (for now) 17:22 The differences between 2008 and 2025 18:30 How data access can help you collaborate with other investors in your area 20:08 The first step to getting involved in multifamily real estate 21:06 How you should navigate the single-family real estate market 22:37 Sell2Rent: A nationwide platform that connects investors with off-market properties 23:49 What makes Sell2Rent different from other similar platforms  25:02 How taking smarter risks today will put you ahead in 2-3 years 27:14 How to get in touch with Alex and his team   Quotables   "We started running towards the fire. Day 7 of the Brian Walshe murder trial delivered the most damning forensic testimony yet. A Massachusetts State Police DNA analyst confirmed that Ana Walshe's genetic material was recovered from a piece of human tissue found in a dumpster near Brian's mother's apartment — the closest investigators have come to finding her remains nearly three years after her disappearance. But that wasn't all. Ana's DNA was also identified on a blood-stained hacksaw blade, a hatchet head, the handles of both tools, bloody towels, carpet fragments, and a clump of hair pulled from the same trash bags prosecutors say Brian Walshe used to dispose of his wife's body. The statistical probability? At least 30 nonillion times more likely to be Ana's DNA than an unknown person's. Several items also contained DNA from both Ana and Brian Walshe, including bloodstained slippers and a Tyvek suit. One item — gauze with a red-brown stain — matched Brian alone. Prosecutors had previously shown the jury a photo of a cut on his thumb. New surveillance footage showed Brian Walshe shopping at HomeGoods on January 2nd and 4th, 2023, buying rugs, towels, and bath mats — using store credit from his dead wife's previous returns. Prosecutors suggest he replaced the living room rug after Ana's death, pointing to photos showing a different carpet in the home when police searched it days later. The defense pushed back on cross-examination, arguing DNA testing can't determine when or how biological material was deposited and suggesting items may have cross-contaminated in the trash compactor. But prosecutors countered that cleaning products — including the hydrogen peroxide and ammonia Brian purchased on January 1st — can destroy blood evidence. Wednesday brings testimony from Gem Mutlu, Ana's former boss and the last person besides Brian known to have seen her alive. The prosecution may rest its case as early as tomorrow. #BrianWalshe #BrianWalsheTrial #AnaWalshe #TrueCrime #MurderTrial #CohassetMurder #DNAEvidence #TrueCrimeNews #MassachusettsCrime #JusticeForAna Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In this conversation with defense attorney Bob Motta, we dig into the strange forensic angle the defense is clinging to: the fact that investigators found no biological evidence in the bedroom where Brian claims Ana died naturally. Crime lab specialist Matthew Sheehan testified that blood was found everywhere it should be if a body was moved and dismembered: the hacksaw, the hammer, the hatchet, the basement floor, the towels, the carpet fragments. Meanwhile, the bedroom — the place where the defense insists Ana died peacefully — was spotless. Bob helps us unpack whether that's actually good for the defense… or whether it just reinforces the prosecution's timeline. Because a clean bedroom might sound helpful until you remember bleach destroys DNA — and that the basement is telling a very different story. We explore Tipton's tactical choices: pushing Sheehan to confirm “no evidence in the bedroom,” highlighting the investigators entering without protective gear, and pointing to oddities like the undisturbed insulation around a ceiling hole. Bob breaks down whether these are meaningful cracks or tiny fishing holes in a case that's already drowning in physical evidence. And then there's the jury. Bob walks us through how jurors typically interpret “absence of evidence” arguments: do they hear reasonable doubt, or do they hear a lawyer trying to redirect their attention away from the bloody basement? This is the chess match inside the trial — a defense building a narrative around what isn't there while the prosecution points repeatedly to what is. #BrianWalshe #AnaWalshe #BobMotta #TrueCrimeAnalysis #HiddenKillers #CleanBedroomDefense #ForensicEvidence #CourtroomStrategy Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Does a Clean Bedroom Help Brian Walshe — or Destroy His Defense? Defense Attorney Bob Motta Gives Insight

10 Rules to Make 2026 the Year Your Community Changes Everything

In this solo episode, Kelly looks back at how business has shifted from the AI explosion of 2023, to the rise of personal branding in 2024, to the wave of raw, human authenticity in 2025, and makes a bold prediction for what comes next. 2026, he argues, will be the year of community, where leaders are no longer satisfied with surface level connections and instead seek real belonging in rooms where they can be honest, supported, and challenged. Drawing on his experience building The Catalyst Club, Kelly shares what he has seen firsthand as leaders open up, share the hard stuff, and finally find a place where people actually get it. From there, he lays out ten clear rules to help you choose the right community in 2026, plus five bonus tips to make sure you get real value from whichever room you join. You will learn how to spot the difference between a group that just talks and a community that actually creates opportunities, what it means to feel both safe and stretched, and why participation is the secret that separates people who grow from people who just lurk. If you want 2026 to be the year your community truly changes everything for you, this episode gives you the roadmap.Key Takeaways: 1. The right community should reflect the future version of you, not just who you are today, so that simply being in the room stretches your growth. 2. Values are non-negotiable: if a community's DNA doesn't align with your beliefs about integrity, growth, and how business should be done, you don't belong there. 3. Activity is everything; you want a room full of people who show up, engage, share wins, and help each other, not a graveyard of ghost profiles and empty feeds.4. Great communities have leaders who are present in the trenches, learning with their people and setting the tone by how they show up, not just what they say. 5. The best rooms make you feel both safe and challenged, giving you space to be human while still expecting you to pursue excellence and tell the truth about where you're at. 6. A real community doesn't just talk, it creates opportunities through introductions, collaborations, referrals, hot seats, and shared wins that move everyone forward. 7. Diversity of perspective matters more than demographics; you need people ahead of you, beside you, and learning from you to create an ecosystem that fuels momentum. 8. Structure beats chaos every time; consistent events, rituals, themes, and clear rules create safety, trust, and a rhythm that makes it easier to show up. 9. You should feel seen in your community—when you speak, people respond, and your presence is acknowledged—because a room that doesn't see you can't grow you. 10. Your energy is data; if you leave calls drained, you're in the wrong room, but if you leave buzzing and inspired, you've probably found your community for 2026 and beyond. If this episode hit home, and you know 2026 needs to be your year of community, The Catalyst Club is exactly the kind of room we talked about. It is a private, virtual leadership community where founders, builders, and business development leaders show up honestly, share what is really going on, and help each other grow with real support and real strategy. If you are tired of doing this alone and want a community that actually moves you forward, join us at www.kellykennedyofficial.com/thecatalystclub.Want to participate in my new show: I Used To Work There? Todd Rapp got his career started in equity options at Goldman Sachs in the late 1990's, a wild time in which a bubble inflated and burst and provided critical lessons in both gamma and vega risk in the process. Now the CEO of the Fortress Multi-Manager Group, Todd leans heavily on his derivatives DNA in the areas of sourcing uncorrelated return streams, portfolio construction and both measuring and managing risk. Early training has shaped his long-term view that markets express probability through delta, option curvature, and distribution structure rather than through static price movements. Our conversation connects early risk management lessons to today's landscape, where market concentration echoes 1999, yet correlation conditions differ meaningfully. Todd notes that unlike the prior cycle, today's equity index shows low intra-index correlation, making dispersion, risk sizing, and factor neutrality more fundamental for return generation. We also explore how the multi-manager architecture seeks to harness uncorrelated strategies packaged with capital efficiency and leverage, producing return streams engineered to operate through dispersion. Todd highlights how understanding optionality remains central to managing equity factor shocks, beta instability, and correlation convergence events.Lastly, we touch on the human capital side of building a business. Having interviewed hundreds of risk takers over the years, Todd looks for individuals who have something to prove, suggesting that having experienced adversity is important because, “if you don't have a significant drawdown in your past, it's in your future.”I hope you enjoy this episode of the Alpha Exchange, my conversation with Todd Rapp.

This week we are talking about Pancreatic cancer.  This is a type of cancer that begins as a growth of cells in the pancreas. The pancreas lies behind the lower part of the stomach. It makes enzymes that help digest food and hormones that help manage blood sugar. The most common type of pancreatic cancer is pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. This type begins in the cells that line the ducts that carry digestive enzymes out of the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer rarely is found at its early stages when the chance of curing it is greatest. This is because it often doesn't cause symptoms until after it has spread to other organs. Your health care team considers the extent of your pancreatic cancer when creating your treatment plan. Treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a mix of these. Pancreatic cancer often doesn't cause symptoms until the disease is advanced. When they happen, signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer may include: Belly pain that spreads to the sides or back. Loss of appetite. Weight loss. Yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes, called jaundice. Light-colored or floating stools. Dark-colored urine. Itching. New diagnosis of diabetes or diabetes that's getting harder to control. Pain and swelling in an arm or leg, which might be caused by a blood clot. Tiredness or weakness. It's not clear what causes pancreatic cancer. Doctors have found some factors that might raise the risk of this type of cancer. These include smoking and having a family history of pancreatic cancer. Understanding the pancreas The pancreas is about 6 inches (15 centimeters) long and looks something like a pear lying on its side. It releases hormones, including insulin. These hormones help the body process the sugar in the foods you eat. The pancreas also makes digestive juices to help the body digest food and take in nutrients. How pancreatic cancer forms Pancreatic cancer happens when cells in the pancreas develop changes in their DNA. A cell's DNA holds the instructions that tell a cell what to do. In healthy cells, the instructions tell the cells to grow and multiply at a set rate. The cells die at a set time. In cancer cells, the changes give different instructions. The changes tell the cancer cells to make many more cells quickly. Cancer cells can keep living when healthy cells would die. This causes there to be too many cells. The cancer cells might form a mass called a tumor. The tumor can grow to invade and destroy healthy body tissue. In time, cancer cells can break away and spread to other parts of the body. Most pancreatic cancer begins in the cells that line the ducts of the pancreas. This type of cancer is called pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma or pancreatic exocrine cancer. Less often, cancer can form in the hormone-producing cells or the neuroendocrine cells of the pancreas. These types of cancer are called pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors or pancreatic endocrine cancer. Risk factors Factors that might raise the risk of pancreatic cancer include: Smoking. Type 2 diabetes. Chronic inflammation of the pancreas, called pancreatitis. Family history of DNA changes that can increase cancer risk. These include changes in the BRCA2 gene, Lynch syndrome and familial atypical multiple mole melanoma (FAMMM) syndrome. Family history of pancreatic cancer. Obesity. Older age. Most people with pancreatic cancer are over 65. Drinking a lot of alcohol. As pancreatic cancer progresses, it can cause complications such as: Weight loss. People with pancreatic cancer might lose weight as the cancer uses more of the body's energy. Nausea and vomiting caused by cancer treatments or a cancer pressing on the stomach might make it hard to eat. Sometimes the body has trouble getting nutrients from food because the pancreas isn't making enough digestive juices. Jaundice. Pancreatic cancer that blocks the liver's bile duct can cause jaundice. Signs include yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes. Jaundice can cause dark-colored urine and pale-colored stools. Jaundice often occurs without belly pain. If the bile duct is blocked, a plastic or metal tube called a stent can be put inside it. The stent helps hold the bile duct open. This is done using a procedure called endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, also called ERCP. During ERCP, a health care professional puts a long tube with a tiny camera, called an endoscope, down the throat. The tube goes through the stomach and into the upper part of the small intestine. The health professional puts a dye into the pancreatic ducts and bile ducts through a small tube that fits through the endoscope. The dye helps the ducts show up on imaging tests. The health professional uses those images to place a stent at the right spot in the duct to help hold it open. Pain. A growing tumor may press on nerves in your abdomen, causing pain that can become severe. Pain medications can help you feel more comfortable. Treatments, such as radiation and chemotherapy, might help slow tumor growth and provide some pain relief. When medicines aren't helping, a health care professional might suggest a celiac plexus block. This procedure uses a needle to put alcohol into the nerves that control pain in the belly. The alcohol stops the nerves from sending pain signals to the brain. Bowel blockage. Pancreatic cancer can grow into or press on the first part of the small intestine, called the duodenum. This can block the flow of digested food from the stomach into the intestines. A health care professional might suggest putting a tube called a stent in the small intestine to hold it open. Sometimes, it might help to have surgery to place a feeding tube. Or surgery can attach the stomach to a lower part of the intestines where the cancer isn't causing a blockage. Prevention Screening for people with a high risk of pancreatic cancer Screening uses tests to look for signs of pancreatic cancer in people who don't have symptoms. It might be an option if you have a very high risk of pancreatic cancer. Your risk might be high if you have a strong family history of pancreatic cancer or if you have an inherited DNA change that increases the risk of cancer. Pancreatic cancer screening might involve imaging tests, such as MRI and ultrasound. These tests are generally repeated every year. The goal of screening is to find pancreatic cancer when it's small and most likely to be cured. Research is ongoing, so it's not yet clear whether screening can lower the risk of dying of pancreatic cancer. There are risks to screening. This includes the chance of finding something that requires surgery but later turns out to not be cancer. Talk about the benefits and risks of pancreatic cancer screening with your health care team. Together you can decide whether screening is right for you. Genetic testing for cancer risk If you have a family history of pancreatic cancer, discuss it with a health care professional. The health professional can review your family history and help you understand whether genetic testing might be right for you. Genetic testing can find DNA changes that run in families and increase the risk of cancer. If you're interested in genetic testing, you might be referred to a genetic counselor or other health care professional trained in genetics. Ways to lower risk You might reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer if you: Stop smoking. If you smoke, talk to a member of your health care team about ways to help you stop. These might include support groups, medicines and nicotine replacement therapy. Maintain a healthy weight. If you are at a healthy weight, work to maintain it. If you need to lose weight, aim for a slow, steady weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds (0.5 to 1 kilogram) a week. To help you lose weight, exercise most days of the week. Slowly increase the amount of exercise you get. Choose a diet rich in vegetables, fruit and whole grains with smaller portions.  (CREDITS: MAYO CLINIC)

You've solved other problems in the past. You can solve this one.Millions of people worldwide face the devastating impact of cancer, with countless lives lost each year to tumors that no longer respond to existing treatments. Dr. Dale Walker, Co-founder and CEO of The Burlington HC Research Group (BHCRG), is working to change that narrative with her groundbreaking development of a new family of anti-cancer drugs. These drugs have the potential to revolutionize treatment for cancers that have become resistant to current therapies.“We tested our drugs against 15 human cancer cell lines, representative of seven different tissues, and the drug works against all of them,” Dale explained. In the U.S. alone, over 600,000 people die annually from cancer, often because their tumors no longer respond to treatment. Dale's research offers a glimmer of hope for patients and their families.Unlike traditional drug development that focuses on a single compound, Dale and her team have created a family of drugs—called BRG drugs—by combining two FDA-approved ingredients in a novel way. These drugs not only enhance the effectiveness of existing cancer treatments but also demonstrate the ability to kill nearly all cancer cells after a single dose in preclinical studies. “Most anti-cancer agents just slow tumor growth. Ours hit both marks—killing tumor cells at a safe dose level,” she said. With such promising results, Dale and her husband Vernon, who co-leads the research, are pushing forward. However, taking these drugs through the necessary safety and efficacy tests requires significant funding. To accelerate progress, BHCRG is raising capital through a regulated crowdfunding campaign on the FundingHope platform. Crowdfunding offers a faster alternative to traditional funding sources, enabling the Walkers to bypass lengthy government grant timelines.“Crowdfunding is a lifeline. We have family members and friends with cancer. We can't wait years,” Dale shared. For investors, the opportunity to back a potential game-changing cancer therapy is compelling, both for its societal impact and long-term financial potential.Dale's passion and perseverance shine through in her work. Her innovative approach to drug development could save countless lives. Supporting her mission on Funding Hope isn't just an investment in a company—it's an investment in hope.tl;dr:Dale Walker shares her innovative work on new anti-cancer drugs targeting resistant tumors.BHCRG's BRG drugs show promising preclinical results, killing almost all tumor cells with one dose.Dale explains crowdfunding's role in accelerating drug development for life-saving cancer treatments. She discusses perseverance as her superpower, solving challenges by embracing and examining problems.Today's episode highlights how crowdfunding enables investors to support impactful innovations in healthcare. How to Develop Perseverance in Problem-Solving As a SuperpowerDale's superpower is her extraordinary ability to solve complex problems and persevere through challenges. In today's episode, she explained, “When I run into a problem, the first thing I have to do is tell myself, don't be afraid. You've solved other problems in the past. You can solve this one.” Dale emphasized that problems often contain valuable information that leads to solutions, encouraging others to examine challenges closely rather than avoiding them. After discovering that an FDA-approved drug had antiviral activity, Dale faced a seemingly insurmountable challenge: making the drug work effectively in people. “I thought, I will not be able to solve this problem. It's too hard,” she admitted. Yet, she persevered, combining the drug with another FDA-approved ingredient. This breakthrough created the BRG family of cancer drugs, which kill nearly all cancer cells in preclinical studies after a single dose. Her ability to persist through doubt and difficulty exemplifies her superpower.Tips for Developing Perseverance in Problem-Solving:Acknowledge Your Strengths: Remind yourself that you've solved tough problems before and can do it again.Examine Problems Closely: Instead of avoiding challenges, look for clues within the problem itself to guide solutions.Break Down the Problem: Address each component of the challenge one step at a time.Stay Focused: Resist the urge to pivot too quickly; often, solutions lie in persistence.Find Inspiration: Remember the impact your work can have on others to stay motivated.By following Dale's example and advice, you can make perseverance in problem-solving a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you!Guest ProfileDale M. Walker (she/her):Co-founder, owner, and Chief Executive Officer, The Burlington HC Research Group, Inc. (BHCRG)About The Burlington HC Research Group, Inc. (BHCRG): BHCRG is working to advance a new family of investigational drugs called BRG Therapeutics. Based on pre-clinical studies, two members of this family show potent anticancer activity across human cancer cell lines representing seven different tissues of origin, including lung cancer (four subtypes), prostate cancer (three types), triple-negative breast cancer (two types), ovarian cancer (two types), pancreatic cancer (one type), pleural mesothelioma (two types), and pre-myeloblastic leukemia (one type, tested with a single BRG drug). In tissue-culture models, BRG drugs demonstrate an unusually strong ability to eliminate nearly all cancer cells after a single dose while achieving this result at doses that are non-toxic to normal human cells. Each BRG drug delivers two active ingredients, and the primary component (ingredient #1) also inhibits the replication of viruses spanning all three major viral genome classes—DNA viruses, RNA viruses, and reverse-transcribing/retroviruses—with activity shown in vitro against influenza, COVID-19, HIV, and Ebola and other viruses. Although such breadth is uncommon and has led some observers to believe no drug could achieve these effects, the evidence shows that the human body naturally produces several essential compounds with similarly broad anticancer and antiviral functions; BRG drugs work through analogous biochemical mechanisms but produce stronger effects in controlled laboratory studies. These naturally occurring comparators include N-acetylcysteine, glutathione, and vitamin C (only at pharmacologic doses). Taken together, BRG Therapeutics represents a next-generation, multi-targeted approach designed to overcome one of the central limitations of modern oncology—drug resistance—by restoring normal cellular regulation, reactivating p53, correcting redox imbalance, and neutralizing reactive species to selectively eliminate cancer cells while preserving healthy tissue.Website: bhcrg.comCompany Facebook Page: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584197824692Other URL: invest.fundinghope.com/offering/brg/detailsBiographical Information: My husband Vernon and I work together as a team, and we have advanced BRG therapeutics to their present state of development by collaboration. We both are veterinarians with advanced training in pathology, so that make us ‘veterinary pathologists'. Vernon also has a PhD in experimental and molecular pathology. What many people do not know is that veterinary pathologists have key roles in drug development and safety testing. Before the discovery of the BRG drugs, most of our work focused on health risks from human exposures to environmental, workplace, or medicinal agents/compounds. We were working with BRG active ingredient #1, which is FDA-approved as the active form of a cell protective drug – that means that it protects normal cells from the damaging effects of radiation and some chemicals. We were testing the ability of this agent to protect normal cells from the deleterious effects of some of the first drugs like AZT developed to treat HIV. We were surprised to learn that this cell protective drug had antiviral activity all on its own. Even though this active ingredient had been around for several decades, no one had ever reported these results before we did. We soon learned why we were the first to make this discovery - the active ingredient of this cell protective drug worked well in tissue culture as an antiviral agent, but antiviral effects were not achieved in living animals. This sent us on a long road figuring out why this was – after all, this agent worked to protect normal cells in living animals and people, so why would it not work as an antiviral agent in the same animals and people? It actually took several years to understand the nature of the problems, and even more time to figure out a solution. That solution was the BRG therapeutics.Vernon and I had little experience studying viruses, and much more experience studying cancer and anticancer drugs, and we knew that this active ingredient had anticancer activity, so we decided to start with testing a BRG drug as an anticancer agent. Our first experiment in a human, pre-myeloblastic leukemia cell line showed us anticancer effects beyond anything that we could have imagined. We were so excited, but we still had a long journey of work and discovery ahead of us. To date we have tested two BRG drugs and they kill cancer cells in all human cancer cell lines tested to date (one drug tested in 15 human cancers, the other tested in 14). A paper summarizing these results was published in 2023.LinkedIn Profile: linkedin.com/in/dale-m-walker-bhcrgPersonal Facebook Profile: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556212335476Support Our SponsorsOur generous sponsors make our work possible, serving impact investors, social entrepreneurs, community builders and diverse founders. Egypt's Decline and the Rise of Israel: Colleague Eric Cline explains that while Egypt survived the collapse, it merely "coped" rather than flourished, entering a chaotic era known as the Third Intermediate Period; as Egypt retreated from the international stage, a power vacuum allowed smaller entities like the Israelites to emerge, while recent DNA evidence from Ashkelon confirms the Philistines' origins in southern Europe, likely Crete or Sardinia, showing they migrated and intermarried with local Canaanites rather than simply conquering them. 1894

Nicole and Diana give an overview of Diana's multi-phase research to discover the father of Cynthia (Dillard) Royston. Diana first reviews four past phases of her research. She discusses Phase 1, which initially focused on George W. Dillard as a strong candidate, and Phase 2, which identified and eliminated ten other Dillard candidates in the area. Both of these documentary-based hypotheses are eventually disproven. She then outlines Phase 3, where she successfully tests and disproves a false ThruLine DNA hypothesis that suggested Hopson Milner was the father. Next, Phase 4 adds DNA analysis to the quest, leading to a cluster of matches with a most recent common ancestor of Elijah Dillard, who is a possible brother or cousin to Cynthia. The project then pivots to Phase 5, based on a new record that places Cynthia's husband, Thomas B. Royston, in Cass County, Georgia, around the likely time of their marriage. This new location in Cass County, where early records were destroyed by fire, provides a new research objective: to discover a Dillard candidate residing there in the 1830s. Listeners learn how to methodically work through a complex brick wall by testing and eliminating both documentary and DNA hypotheses in a focused, systematic process.
