AuKing Mining Ltd (ASX:AKN) managing director Paul Williams joins Proactive's Tylah Tully to discuss the potentially significant gold mineralisation the company has confirmed at the Shaib Marqan project in Saudi Arabia through recent rock chip assays. The project is in partnership with Barg Alsaman Mining Company (BSMC). Earlier in the week AuKing and BSMC secured the exploration licence in Saudi Arabia as part of a competitive Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources' 6th Licensing Round bid process. An Information Memorandum (IM) from the Ministry in August 2024 stated the 91.8-square-kilometre project is considered highly prospective for orogenic vein-hosted gold mineralisation and is significantly under-explored. The project lies some 100 kilometres southeast of the Al Amar gold mine, which produced nearly 30,000 ounces in 2022. Pre-bid site inspections included rock chip sampling, which revealed gold assay results of 2.97 g/t, 1.31 g/t, and 13.72 g/t, supporting historical data on gold occurrences in the area. These results provide a foundation for an extensive soil and rock chip sampling program, which will commence following the formal grant of the exploration licence. Discussions to finalise this licence with the Ministry are ongoing, and AuKing anticipates being able to initiate focused sampling activities based on these recent findings. #ProactiveInvestors #AuKingMining #ASX #GoldExploration, #ShaibMarqan, #MiningNews, #SaudiArabia, #GoldMineralisation, #OrogenicGold, #RockChipAssays, #BSMC, #GoldMining, #AlAmar, #MineralResources, #ExplorationLicence, #MiningIndustry, #PreciousMetals, #MiningProjects, #SaudiMining, #GoldAssays, #ASX, #PaulWilliams

Abstract: Alamar Blue (AB) has become an increasingly popular reagent of choice for cell viability assays. We chose AB over other reagents such as MTT and Cell-Titer Glo due to its cost effectiveness and its ability to be a nondestructive assay. While analyzing the effect of osimertinib, an EGFR inhibitor on the non-small cell lung cancer cell line, PC-9, we noticed unexpected right-shifts of dose response curves as compared to the curve obtained by Cell Titer Glo assay. Here, we describe our modified AB assay method to avoid right shift right shift in dose response curve. Unlike some of the redox drugs that were reported to directly affected AB reading, osimertinib itself did not directly increase AB reading. Yet, the removal of the drug containing medium prior to AB addition eliminated falsely increased reading giving comparable dose response curve as the one determined by Cell Titer Glo assay. When a panel of 11 drugs were assessed, we found that this modified AB assay eliminated unexpected similar right shifts detected in other epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors. We also found that plate-to-plate variability can be minimized by adding an appropriate concentration of rhodamine B solution to the assay plates to calibrate fluorimeter sensitivity. This calibration method also enables a continuous longitudinal assay to monitor cell growth or recovery from drug toxicity over time. Our new modified AB assay is expected to provide accurate in vitro measurement of EGFR targeted therapies. Copy rights belong to original authors. #044 - Today we are talking with Nelson German who runs two beautiful establishments here in Oakland - alaMar Kitchen & Bar and Sobre Mesa.  Nelson also starred on Season 18 of Top Chef on Bravo - we even got into what that experience was like.Nelson calls alaMar Kitchen & Bar, located at 100 Grand Ave, his “1st baby”.  It is a family friendly seafood restaurant where the 90s hip hop beats flow.  He saw a niche - there were not many seafood restaurants around here other than big ones and the ones that were here, were closing.  He got the inspiration for seafood and the name while vacationing in Mexico.“It is a place that represents the neighborhood, really represents the community.  When you're there 90s hip hop is in the background, beautiful lighting, really cool diverse crowd, just a place you feel like home.  That was my intention with the place. And the menu really reflects my journey as a chef - from my childhood favorites to things I've learned along the way”.Sobre Mesa, located at 1618 Franklin St., is a beautiful cocktail bar that opened 9 days before the COVID shutdown.  It is an Afro Latin cocktail bar - you have to be 21, so leave the kids at home.  Sobre Mesa is super sexy and serves tapas and great drinks, making it great for a date night.  Nelson wanted a place to bring all of his roots together.“I am Dominican in nationality, so really representing the Afro Latino Diaspora - we are Black people who speak Spanish so really represent that and represent how beautiful the African Diaspora is.”When Nelson first got the call for Top Chef, he thought it was fake.  Good thing he returned the call.  Season 18 had the most Black chefs and was the most diverse season EVER!  They started filming in the fall of 2020 at the height of the pandemic. He describes the experience as amazing, but he was nervous like being a line chef again - it was hard and grueling.“I wanted to win, but what you do after coming out of Top Chef is what is most important.”Be Sure to listen to the whole interview to hear Nelson's story about being on Top Chef during the pandemic.

(See below for recipe!). 8:08 – Malkia Devich-Cyril (@culturejedi), lead founder and senior fellow at the Center for Media Justice, says the media isn't asking the right questions about Tara Reade's accusations against Democratic presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden. Instead of trying to pick apart Reade's story, Cyril says, journalists should be interrogating the system that led to U.S. voters having choose between two white men both accused of sexual misconduct. 8:34 – Twenty-eight-year-old Muslim congressional candidate in New Jersey Amani al-Khatahtbeh has faced racist attacks and even a death threat in her bid for office. Zahra Billoo (@ZahraBilloo), executive director of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), talks about Islamophobia under Trump and how community members can support al-Khatahtbeh. 8:50 – Muslims around the world are marking the holy month of Ramadan in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Some governments in Muslim-majority nations have clamped down, closing mosques and barring gatherings. Others have given in to popular pressure, leading to fears of a spike in Covid-19 cases. KPFA correspondent Rami Almeghari reports. ***** RECIPE: Nelson German's black bean hummus served with curried yam (Serves 10, makes lots of leftovers) INGREDIENTS Sofrito Red onion – 1 Garlic – 12 cloves Green bell pepper – 1 Cilantro – 1 bunch Canola oil – 1/2 cup Kosher salt – 1 tbsp Beans Dry Black beans – 1.5lbs (Soak overnight if possible) Sofrito – 1/2 cup Soy sauce – 1/4 cup Tomato paste – 1/4 cup Veggie stock – 2qts Adobo seasoning – 2 Tbsp Hummus Cooked Black beans – 2 qts Tahini (sesame paste) – 2 Tbsp Pureed Chipotle – 1 Tbsp Limes – 3, zested & juiced Salt & pepper to taste Curried Yam Yam – 1 yam small diced Sofrito – 1 Tbsp Curry – 1.5 Tbsp Cumin – 1 tsp Brown sugar – 1 Tbsp Salt – 1 tsp (add more to taste) Black pepper to taste White wine or veggie stock for deglazing and slight pan braising –  ½ cup Directions Sofrito  Rough chop all ingredients. Then blend everything together in a food processor until pureed. Beans In a sauce pan add 2 Tbsp of canola oil. Let it heat up at medium high. Add sofrito and sauté for 20 seconds until aromatics come through, then add beans. Stir fry for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, also the stock, and bring to a boil. Add tomato paste, seasoning and mix well until paste is dissolved. Lower heat to medium low and cover. Let cook for 45 mins but gently stir every 10 mins. If after 45 mins it needs more time, add an extra 10 mins. Hummus  Make this while beans are still hot/warm. Just blend everything together in a food processor until pureed. Add a little stock to thin out if need be. Then pass through a chinois (fine strainer). Curried Yams In a sauté pan at medium heat add, 1 Tbsp canola oil. Add sofrito and stir fry for 20 seconds. Bring up heat to medium high, then add yams, salt, brown sugar, and sauté for 1 minute. Deglaze with the wine or stock, add curry and cumin. Lower heat to medium low, cover and let fully cook for 2 to 3 mins. Once cooked, let cool on a sheet pan, then refrigerate. Plating: Plate hummus in a semi deep bowl, spoon around the curried yams in a circular motion. Then garnish with thinly sliced cilantro.   Photo of Trump for this episode by David Shankbone, photo of Biden by Gabe Skidmore.

Producer: Nya Hughes From the rhyming styles of breakbeat poets and Bronx backyard jams of the 1980s, hip-hop sprang forth from the heart of urban black culture to give voice to the silenced narratives of black communities. The rhythm of resistance. Uncontainable, the sound waves traveled much farther than the national border. In the 1990s, young Cubans living in the barrio of Alamar resonated with the rhythms and attitude in the music and adopted the art form as their own. Moving through this rich oral history and into the present, we will hear the way hip-hop brought these two cultures together in a perfect storm.
