It's been nearly 8 years since Samantha aka LiliAvacyn has been on the podcast. A lot has changed since their first episode, and now they're back for a second one! Samantha talks about this year being their 20 year convention anniversary. We talk about how conventions have changed over time, from experiences, to guests, panels, and overall fun. One of the topics that Samantha wanted to talk about was cosplay and their adjustments to cosplay and conventions with a disability. You'll hear how Samantha has adapted cosplays to include their wheelchair, wheelchairs and the convention spaces, and more. Not only is Samantha speaking up in the cosplay and convention space when it comes to accessibility, we also talk about it with one of their newer fandoms - K-Pop. Samantha talks about getting into K-Pop, their favorite group, Ateez, and experiences with two different concert venues and the steps taken for accessibility. I am glad that Samantha was able to come back and share their stories with me, and by extension, with all of you. But also we share some of our personal thoughts from "Communicate your comfort levels, preferred angles", "push/shove props and armour aren't as tough as they look", "Keep to the agreed schedule" and many more. https://www.mcmcomiccon.com/birmingham/en-us/about/faqs/cosplay-etiquette.html Feat: Hijabi Hoo Instagram // Twitch // Facebook // Tiktok Music credit – Neon Nights, produced by Scott Holmes Artwork by khemmings94 To support my podcast, please visit our Patreon page Food And Cosplay Links Website // Instagram // Twitter // Facebook // Threads

In this episode, Greg Smith dives into Flannery O'Connor's bold claim: “If it's only a symbol, to hell with it.” Reflecting on his own conversion and a pivotal moment on Ireland's Skellig Michael, Greg explores why the reality of Catholic sacraments and aesthetics matters. He critiques three groups—liberal Protestants, evangelicals, and progressive Catholics—who treat the Church's sacred elements like props, stripping them of their truth. A must-listen for anyone wondering if Catholicism is more than just beautiful symbols. Support this ministry so more people can consider Catholicism! No reality show reflects our current moment better than “Farmer Wants A Wife,” a show about modern city women who dream of living a wholesome life as a tradwife with four kids and raw milk from their husband's very own cow. And it's currently back for season three of the current FOX reboot, featuring Kimberly Williams-Paisley as the host (and ultimate former city girl). Also featured: at least one farmer with rizz and questionable politics, innumerable MAGA Barbies doing farm labor in denim minidresses, and even some classic reality TV villains. The first four episodes of this season have been the liveliest since the reboot premiered in 2023, and we're loving every minute. On this week's episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver settle in for a deep and wide-ranging conversation that goes far beyond wrestling. The episode, titled “It's Not Me, It's You,” touches on everything from Kevin's return to the road for a fan convention, to thoughtful reflections on grief, fatherhood, autism, and the emotional impact of connecting with fans face-to-face. Kevin opens up about what it felt like to get back out in the world after some time away, recounting his travel experience, interactions with fans, and a touching story about someone who brought him a photo of his late son that hit him harder than expected. He and Sean also dig into the kind of connection that can form between performers and their audiences—especially when people feel seen, heard, and understood. Whether it's the dad who listens to the podcast in the car with his daughter, or the fans who just want a minute to say thanks, Kev gets real about what that means to him at this stage in his life. The guys also spend some time talking about Kevin's run-in with Shannon Elizabeth at the con (yes, she owns a rhino), and the surreal feeling of chatting casually with Henry Winkler when your brain still remembers him as “The Fonz.” There's a moment where the conversation shifts into a discussion of autism and how people on the spectrum can be misread or mishandled by those who don't understand. Kevin draws on his own experiences with his son to talk about empathy, patience, and just taking the time to listen. Later in the episode, they analyze John Cena's current direction in WWE, breaking down the psychology of a slow-burn breakup between a performer and the audience that used to love him. It's not just about titles—it's about worth, legacy, and feeling like you gave your all only to be left behind. That leads into a great sidebar on Kurt Angle's criminally underrated TNA run and why that company never got the respect it deserved. As always, there are plenty of laughs too. Kevin recounts getting pulled over and ticketed in what may or may not have been a construction zone, tells stories from his days in the business, and somehow we end up talking about orbs flying over Daytona, chamomile tea, Ron White stand-up, and black shoe polish as a home remedy for ringworm. It's one of those episodes that bounces between hilarious, heartfelt, and heavy without missing a beat. Whether you're here for the wrestling talk, the behind-the-scenes stories, or the real-life reflections, this one delivers across the board. Don't forget to subscribe to the channel, leave a comment, and share the episode if it resonated with you. New episodes drop weekly. I've been following Gina aka Ginamidala on Instagram for quite some time and I was excited that she said yes to being a guest. Not just because of her cosplay work, but also because she published her first book, Guide, and I wanted to talk about that too! We split the episode in half. For the first half, Gina and I talk about art and cosplay. With art, Gina talks about her beginnings with art in school, and progressing from there. She talks about all the different art forms she's done and which ones she prefers. We talk about the art that she's created and shared on her Instagram page (and which you can purchase, if you message her!). We also talk about Cosplay. Gina talks about how she first got interested in Cosplaying, and what characters she's drawn to. We talk about the character's she has done, along with some of her plans for the future with cosplay. In the back half of the episode, Gina talks about her work as an Author. We talk about her writing journey, which led to the self publishing of Guide. We talk about the book without spoilers, as we talk about the plot, main character and supporting cast, and her plans for the future. You can find Gina at: https://www.instagram.com/ginamidala/ https://www.tiktok.com/@ginamidala You can buy Guide on eBook and Paperback on Amazon at: https://amzn.to/4hDMwVB
