You got homers from Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton and Weaver shut it down in the pen. Pete Alonso had a great slide into home and a great stretch at first on the huge double play. Jerry is here with his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Jets losing to the Bills, 23-20. There were way too many penalties in this game. Rodgers' interception late was a key part of the loss. Jerry has the sounds of John Sterling as Juan Soto homered. We heard from Howie Rose as Mark Vientos hit a grand slam. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said he is irrationally hating Shohei Ohtani. Gio remembers Mike and the Mad Dog loving ratings talk as to who had more viewers yesterday, the Mets, Yankees or Jets. Hour 2 The Jets lost to the Bills last night but the offense did look better. Breece Hall had his best game of the season. But the penalties and mistakes are still there. The interceptions at the end of games are still there. Rodgers is definitely going to miss games this season because of an injury because he is getting hit a lot. They also have a second half issue on offense. If not for a miracle hail mary to close the first half, this game isn't even close. There were a ton of penalties in the game and they had to go back to New York to see what they saw. Anthony Rizzo didn't say anything about his concussion symptoms. Is it fair to blame the Yankees for not noticing something was wrong? Boomer has a more optimistic overall view of the Yankees. They've dealt with a ton of injuries but are still somehow over .500. C-Lo is in for Jerry and Boomer reiterates how incredible it is that the Yankees have won as many games as they have this season despite so many injuries. A lot happened in yesterday's Yankees loss to the Astros and Jerry said fans in Houston aren't afraid of the Yankees. In fact, they mock them. Giancarlo Stanton had an embarrassing play on Saturday when he didn't run heading to the plate from 3rd base. Carlos Rodon was awful and is hurt again. Harrison Bader isn't concerned about the team at all. The Mets haven't won since the trade deadline. Jose Ramirez knocked Tim Anderson down in a brawl. (00:00 - 24:35) - The Friday Show with Brian Noe and Jimmy Cook kick things off with a quick Android vs. iPhone debate. UCLA lost to Gonzaga last night in the Sweet Sixteen. Noe equates the loss to Indiana's exit from the tournament in the Round of 32 this year. Cook and Noe compare and contrast if you'd rather lose by a blow out like Indiana or lose a close one like UCLA. Even though they lost, UCLA could benefit from the fact that their loss was close in recruitment. A look back through famous close losses in college and NFL history. How often does the "best team" win a championship and which of the four teams that won last night has the strongest chance of making the finals? (24:36 - 39:24) - Bluegrass music might not make great bump back music, but we are going to try anyway. Bryce Young is still seen as the number one quarterback to take in the draft, at least according to Todd McShay of SportsCenter. Pro-days can't be the most important part of evaluating a player, especially a quarterback who has yet to experience your system at all. Will Levis draft stock has been impacted largely by things outside of his control. He hasn't been able to stay 100% healthy and hasn't always had the best pieces around him.   (39:25 - 41:47) - The "QB Push Sneak" which looks much like a rugby scrum has not been outlawed by the NFL yet. The competition committee didn't even take a look at the issue. Teams have said that if the rules are not changed, they will run the play frequently. (41:48 - 1:13:16) - The Lamar Jackson situation is getting even more out of hand. A memo was sent out today saying that "Ken Francis" was reaching out to other teams on behalf of Jackson. The NFL stated in the memo that teams are only to negotiate with Jackson and that anyone found to be talking to Francis would run the risk of having their future contract with Jackson terminated. Jackson denied on Twitter ever having Francis reach out on his behalf to any team. Cook questions why the NFL would lie about such a thing and make up a name as generic as Ken Francis. Frank Isola of ESPN's Around The Horn and Sirius XM joins mid-segment and immediately gives his take on who Jackson will be playing for next season. Isola mentions how Jackson's injuries are a bigger deal than people think about the longevity of his career. Talking Indiana Pacers, Isola thinks that Indiana is in a terrific spot to be one of the teams to beat next year. He thinks the play in tournament doesn't really hold the value the NBA thinks it does or wants it to.  (1:13:17 - 1:21:43) - Another run through of the competition committee not looking at the QB Push Sneak. The Colts could benefit from this tactic if they draft a young mobile quarterback like Will Levis or C.J. Stroud. Noe notes that while Indianapolis could take advantage of this, he is not a fan of the tactic. (1:21:44 - 1:24:20) - Noe's bracket is back to life like The Undertaker. It was off to a rough start as Arizona and Purdue got eliminated early. (1:24:21 - 1:52:08) - Kevin Bowen of The Fan morning show Kevin and Query joins the show to express his elation over Micah Shrewsberry signing on as the Notre Dame head coach. Bowen addresses the rumors that he went shirtless on the morning program yesterday in honor of Shrewsberry's decision. Cook and Bowen start talking about Colt's cap space and free agency. How much will Indianapolis need to hold to feel safe going into negotiations in this next season. Colt's General Manager Chris Ballard has proven to be a light spender in previous years. Bowen is slightly worried that early career quarterbacks could be at a disadvantage given how the offensive line performed last season. A young quarterback will be put under pressure early and often next season and might be set up for failure if the O-line does not improve drastically. Brian has some Tony Horton vibes. The Jets brought in RB James Robinson from the Jaguars to fill Breece Hall's position after he tore his ACL. Boomer expects the Jets to face Mac Jones at QB. And Matt Ryan has been benched in Indianapolis. Boomer reveals he's been invited on the Manningcast for Monday night because the Bengals are playing the Browns. Rob Saleh talks about the progress of Zach Wilson so far this season. Elijah Moore is back with the team and will play this weekend. Brian Daboll talked about Daniel Bellinger's eye socket injury. The Bears beat the Patriots 33-14. Bill Belichick was asked about Zappe coming in for Mac Jones. The Colts have benched Matt Ryan for the remainder of the season in favor of Sam Ehlinger. Gio is starting to tire of Zach Wilson and Boomer says he sounds like a Bills and Dolphins fan before Josh Allen and Tua started to look good. Peyton Manning really wanted the Bears to score over 40 on the Patriots at Foxboro. Instead they sat on the ball to not pile on. The Colts are benching Matt Ryan and Head Coach Frank Reich tells us why. In the final segment of the show, we talked about the Brittney Griner situation in Russia. Jim Nantz is stepping down from the NCAA tournament after this coming March Madness and Ian Eagle will be taking over. Gio wants to find a way to get Nantz out of the NFL and move Ian into the number one spot.
