Join us for an exclusive conversation with Rene Benton, the versatile guitarist who has taken the music world by storm. From his roots in Omaha, Nebraska, to touring 38 states and 50 countries, Rene has worked with an impressive array of artists, including Rock and Roll legends, Pop stars, and Grammy award winners. In this episode, Rene shares his inspiring journey, from his early influences to his current projects and collaborations. Tune in to discover the incredible story behind this guitar maestro and his remarkable discography. There aren't many guitarists who possess the versatility as Rene Benton. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, his musical influences ranges from progressive rockers Kansas to the sophisticated funk of the Ohio Players. After a stint in the Marine Corps, Rene decided to dedicate his energy towards music. Touring extensively throughout the United States and abroad(38 states and 50 countries to date), he has produced an astounding resume which includes Rock and Roll legends, such as Chubby Checker band; Pop Star artists, such as Sweden's Gigi Hamilton, with Warner EMI; and, Columbia Records recording artist – Fishbone through recording, to name a few. More recent performances include collaborations with Tuhran Terrell (keyboardist/Anita Baker), Jerome “Stixx” Davis (drummer/LaFace/Arista recording artist Tony Rich); singer Hunter Gerard (soap opera star/General Hospital); and, Louie Louie (WTG recording artist , chart topping hit “Lap of Luxury”). Rene was also involved with the modern musical Dreamscape; created and performed by Steve Reed, percussionist for fusion jazz legends – The Rippingtons As well recording with Grammy award winning writer Sleepy Brown writer of the hit by Outkast (I like the way U move) and multiple performance with Grammy award winning bassist for Latin pop star Mark Anthony Mel Brown and Christian Rapcore band Junkyard Prophet and a faction of The Fortunes(UK 70's group that had the hit (“Here comes that rainy day feelin' Again”) Taking time to record his first full-length release, Rene employed expertise from Troy Johnson, bass; and, the dynamic drumming of Todd Roberson; both backing up the likes of Michael Lee Firkins (Shrapnel records alumni), Stephen Pearcy (former frontman of Ratt); and their own instrumental powerhouse JRZ System. The result was a throttle-filled carpet ride sounding like a fusion between Stevie Wonder and Tony MacAlpine. His follow up project Rene called on more musical friends such as, Philip Bynoe (bassist/Steve Vai, Nuno Bettencourt, and Mark Boals), and Atma Anur (drummer/Greg Howe, Cacophony , Vinnie Moore, Jason Becker), Kelly Conlon (bassist Death, Monstrosity, Azure Emote) Funk legend guitarist Charlie Singleton(Cameo) and drummer/producer Paul Vowell(Radioactive Chickenheads, Green Jelly, Sleepy Brown of Outkast) along with appearances by long time comrades Troy Johnson(bassist JRZ System) among others. Also recorded with Belizian/Central American superstar Andy Palacio who passed away shortly after those sessions. Kittenhead has evolved their sound to a darker, bigger, gender-bending, hip-gyrating, driving rhythms, and ear-worm hooks and melodies, with lyrics that cut to the core of our being. The band consists of veterans from Green Jelly, the Generators, Butt Trumpet, the White Trash Debutantes, Blackjack Betty, the Dirty, Lisafer, and at one time or another, have played together in different combinations in prior bands since junior high! The band has played the mainstage at Oakland Pride, Folsom Street Fair, numerous roller derbies across the country with their single “Derby Girl,” where many roller derby teams still use in their match warmups. Kittenhead has received international terrestrial radio play as well as been played on Rodney on the ROQ, 93.1 Random Radio SF, and XXXX Brooklyn radio. While supporting many charitable causes close to their hearts, Kittenhead has headlined the bi-annual Marianarchy Festival in Reno, where proceeds go to people with medical expenses. Because of the band's philanthropy, Kittenhead has received tour support from a Colorado Radio Producer and Orange County Non-Profit. What makes Kittenhead different is that it is not about glam and image, it is about straight up rock and roll rebellion and inclusion. Look for their upcoming fourth release “#Authentic”, stream them on all of the streaming services, and catch them live. Kittenhead KH Facebook KH gram KH youtube
Back on a Monday with tales of the weekend. Find out how Anthony's trip to Detroit went, and how the roast was for Cass' bestie. We share why eating wings while driving is a bad idea and why hiding in a tesla truck after shoplifting is not your best plan. We hear from the man who inspired Foo Fighters, Cass interviews Gavin Rossdale from Bush, and we hear a proposal gone wrong. We hear about the woman who tried to steal Graceland, celebrate Jar Jar Binks, and share how we got schooled on Buffalo born music over the weekend. Green Jello, Green Jelly, whatever you want to call them, was never a band that demanded their audience take them seriously and discuss their work at length. But Travis and new guest Charlie Root do exactly that this episode in discussing the band's 1993 album Cereal Killer Soundtrack!
Folks! There are some big goings-on in the ATTT universe these days. Thankfully we get by with a little help from people like our friend Joe Lavelle, who has graciously volunteered to help bring back a format we haven't used in a while but are excited to dust off for your listening pleasure. As we all know, the best podcasts never prepare anything and just wing it. Well in a roundabout way that's what we're up to around here. Emergency Pod turns All Time Top Ten into a "Who's Line Is It Anyway"-style improv game where instead of "yes and", our phrase is "check out this amazing song that I just pulled out of thin air". Joe Lavelle has some improv experience so he's the perfect guest to help us bring the concept back, and we promise to keep Emergency Pod going with monthly bonus episodes on Patreon.Patreon is back! We're cooking up monthly installments of Emergency Pod exclusively for our Patreon People. $5 a month gets you full access!https://www.patreon.com/alltimetoptenCheck out the Spotify playlist for this episode and see if you can make it make sense:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7lRsjz0FUMiwpafvmh02rm?si=82aecd01262a4867Thanks to all who have joined the ATTT Podcast Music Chat over on Facebook Groups. What's your most loved and least favorite song on XTC's Oranges & Lemons album?! In the middle of our so-called hiatus, Jim again chose to rank Swindon's finest by selecting their fine 11th export. We were graced by not one but two guest rankers who witnessed the band recording the album in Los Angeles: Mike Keneally, a former Frank Zappa guitarist who played guitar on one of the album's outtakes and Gary Helsinger, the Green Jello singer and then-Tower Records employee who got to hang with the band at Summa Studios and KROQ's studios during this era. Welcome to the Juras-Sick Park-Cast podcast, the Jurassic Park podcast about Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park, and also not about that, too. Find the episode webpage at: Episode 60 - Almost Paradigm. In this episode, my terrific guests Matt Kelly and Matthew Milligan of the Weird Al-gorithm podcast join the show to chat with me about: PeeWee Herman and Paul Reubens, The Bicycle Thieves, Weird Al Yankovich, One Hit Thunder, Wheatus, podcasting, digging through music shops to find Weird Al albums, polkas, Yoda, MacArthur Park, Alapalooza, Off The Deep End, Bohemian Rhapsody v. Bohemian Polka, the punkrock roots of Weird Al, Green Jelly, claymation by Mark Osborne and Scott Nordlund, music videos, Dinosaurs Attack!, Barney the Dinosaur, I Love You, You Hate Me, parody choices, UHF, the Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesotra, and much more! Plus dinosaur news about: Vectipelta barretti, a new ankylosaurian dinosaur from theLower Cretaceous Wessex Formation of the Isle of Wight, UK A potentially fatal cranial pathology in a specimenof Tarchia Featuring the music of Snale https://snalerock.bandcamp.com/ Intro: Toucans. Outro: Chinese Cafe. The Text: This week's text is Almost Paradigm, spanning from pages 380 – 384. Synopsis: Hammond is uncomfortable with Malcolm's sepsis, and leaves for a walk believing that the park is under control now, and is safe. On his walk back to his bungalow, he stews over how unfit everyone he'd hired to work at Jurassic Park had been, blaming them all for its downfall – and taking no responsibility of his own. Then he hears the roar of the juvenile tyrannosaurus, and panics. Out of fear and anger, he winds up falling down a ravine, landing in a river below, with a broken ankle. It turns out the tyrannosaur roar is just a recording being broadcast over loud speakers, as Tim and Lex are playing around on the computer in the control room, and there was no danger after all. Discussions surround: Dramatic Irony, Responsibility and Safety, Considering whether or not you should, and Almost Paradise v. Almost Paradigm. Corrections: I said that Nedry didn't turn off the fences in the movie - when, of course he did. Arnold also turns off the power, but Nedry did it first. My mistake. Sorry. Side effects: May cause you to become ... weird! Find it on iTunes, on Spotify (click here!) or on Podbean (click here). Thank you! The Jura-Sick Park-cast is a part of the Spring Chickens banner of amateur intellectual properties including the Spring Chickens funny pages, Tomb of the Undead graphic novel, the Second Lapse graphic novelettes, The Infantry, and the worst of it all, the King St. Capers. You can find links to all that baggage in the show notes, or by visiting the schickens.blogpost.com or finding us on Facebook, at Facebook.com/SpringChickenCapers or me, I'm on twitter at @RogersRyan22 or email me at ryansrogers-at-gmail.com. Thank you, dearly, for tuning in to the Juras-Sick Park-Cast, the Jurassic Park podcast where we talk about the novel Jurassic Park, and also not that, too. Until next time! #JurassicPark #MichaelCrichton

Slight change of plans, dear listener. Paul is out of town again this week, so we've pushed the “favorite weapons in video games” episode back a few weeks and are, instead, talking about some of our weird (and not weird) gaming associations. Ron and Joey talk a brisk jaunt down memory lane and share some associations we have with specific games. Which game do you suppose one of us used No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album as a soundtrack for? And which of us was watching Dateline, playing Doom, and listening to Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral? We also meander in and out of related memories, including Zours candies, The Box (a music video dial-in show from the 80s/90s), gaming snacks and more. We also talk about the partner lineup for next week's Summer Game Fest, KotOR coming to Switch, Sailor Jupiter, and what we've been playing. (Joey) 01:01:58: No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom and EarthBound (Joey) 01:10:00: Dateline, Doom, and The Downward Spiral (Ron) 01:18:09: Super cheesy nachos, sugar-syrupy Kool-Aid, and Chrono Trigger (Joey) 01:22:36: Zours and Perfect Dark (Ron) 01:28:12: Tom Petty's “Runnin' Down a Dream” and the freedom of GTA: San Andreas (Joey) 01:30:12: Twisted Ankle and Tomb Raider (Ron) 01:32:00: Green Jelly, Maximum Carnage, and The Box (Joey) Theme song by lovers.tiff: loverstiff.bandcamp.com

7 DAYS TILL THE GATES OPEN AND THE FIRST BAND PLAYS THAT FIRST CHORD! I can't believe we are that close! The excitement is overwhelming to say the least. So now is the time to get your last minute plans in place, especially what bands to see. And that plan should definitely include todays band. Out of Florida, playing Day 4 of Blue Ridge Rock Fest on the HeartSupport Stage, F.I.L.T.H! The band's origins can be dated as far back as 2009 when Bassist Mike Vettel and Guitarist Mike Andes had already begun writing what would be the foundation of F.I.L.T.H. The pair enlisted new members for the project only to realize later the lineup would ultimately have to change. “There was a lot going on at the time…” recalls Mike Andes, “…the timing just wasn't right for the direction we wanted to go…” The two then decided to put the project on hold. Almost a year later, they were introduced to drummer Freddie Hull. “I was playing with Kevin Palmer (Trust Company) before I stepped away from playing….I hadn't played in almost 12 years. By the time I was introduced to Mike and Mikey, I was playing in a local cover band…” recalls Freddie. For the next several months, the trio talked about putting it all together and in early 2011, headed into the studio and started to go to work. “Freddie came in and branded his own style to the chemistry that Mikey V and I already had….he just fit…” exclaims Mike Andes. Soon after, the three began the search for what would ultimately be the next piece to the lineup. And it didn't take them long before front man Eric Mann filled in the position they were searching for. F.I.L.T.H. was born. In late 2014, guitarist Josh Lyons stepped in to fill the final piece. “We wanted a fuller sound…” says Freddie Hull. Josh proceeded to add his own flare to the songs, adding a new dimension to the guitar work of F.I.L.T.H. From this point, F.I.L.T.H. was evolving as a band. Fast forward, after almost 10 years with the band, front man Eric Mann left the band. “It was a shock to say the least.” says guitarist Mike Andes. The search was on. It was a long and grueling process for the band and on May 1, 2021 Jason “Jay” Gutsch brutally filled the void the band was looking for. “I can't say I knew a lot about F.I.L.T.H., but after 10 years of not being a front man, I decided to give it a shot…” says frontman Jay. “It's been an extremely easy transition.” he adds. F.I.L.T.H. has supported national acts such as Fear Factory, Saliva, Green Jelly, Straight Line Stitch, 10 Years and Nonpoint and has played festivals such as WJRR's Kink Fest, Central Florida Metal Fest and Blue Ridge Rock Fest. “Our goal is to grow as a band while staying true to the band's roots and bring the energy that only F.I.L.T.H. can bring!” exclaims Jay. F.I.L.T.H continues to evolve its sound, adding new elements as each member evolves and grows in their respective abilities. Animals are cooler than humans. Did you know geese mate for life, and then when their mate dies they only get with another goose widow or widower? Are pig's organs and human organs interchangeable? Find out on this week's episode where Amber & Ed dive deep into the world of Geese & Pigs. Taking us out this week is tribute to pigs, and Wizard and the Bruiser's Jake Young, with "Three Little Pigs" by Green Jelly. Saddle up, partners! This week we're piling into the old sheepdog-mobile as we discuss the soundtrack to Dumb and Dumber! 1994 was Jim Carrey's breakout year, and this film solidified him as a comedy force to be reckoned with. It's also wildly problematic and many of the jokes have not aged well. C'est la vie. However... The soundtrack to Dumb and Dumber is secretly brilliant! It features an all-time classic cover from Crash Test Dummies, as well as some true jangle-pop bangers from Pete Droge, The Sons and The Gigolo Aunts. We've also got Echobelly, The Proclaimers, and whatever the hell it is Green Jelly thinks they're doing... It's another fascinating snapshot of the rock-pop landscape of the mid-nineties. So join us as we embark on a multi-part journey through the soundtracks of the Farrelly Brothers!
