On the show this time, it’s the angular psych-punk of Frankie and the Witch Fingers. Frankie & The Witch Fingers are a relentlessly touring, high-bar musicianship, DIY punk band. They originally formed in Bloomington, Indiana, but are now fully ensconced in the burgeoning psych-rock scene in Los Angeles. Their latest album, Trash Classic, is available on Greenway Records. Welcome to Brief Encounters—where history's strangest moments collide with the unexplained. The automobile is still a novelty. The Wright brothers haven't yet flown. Electricity lights up only a few cities. Yet, across the skies of America, something impossible is happening: cigar-shaped airships, glowing lights, and metallic crafts flying silently through the night. Witnessed by thousands and described in hundreds of newspaper reports from California to Illinois to Texas, these sightings baffle the public. The military remains silent. And in at least one case, someone claims to have seen the pilot—and he wasn't from around here.Brief Encounters is a tightly produced, narrative podcast that dives headfirst into the world of UFO sightings, the paranormal, cryptids, myths, and unexplained legends. From ancient sky wars to modern close encounters, each episode takes listeners on a journey through some of the most mysterious and compelling cases in human history. Whether it's a well-documented military sighting or an eerie village legend whispered across generations, Brief Encounters delivers each story with atmosphere, depth, and cinematic storytelling. Episodes are short and binge-worthy — perfect for curious minds on the go. In just 5 to 10 minutes, listeners are pulled into carefully researched accounts that blend historical context, eyewitness testimony, and chilling details. The series moves between eras and continents, uncovering not only the famous cases you've heard of, but also the forgotten incidents that deserve a closer look. Each story is treated with respect, skepticism, and wonder — offering both seasoned enthusiasts and casual listeners something fresh to consider. Whether it's a 15th-century sky battle over Europe, a cryptid sighting in a remote forest, or a modern-day abduction report from rural America, Brief Encounters is your guide through the shadows of our world — and the stories that refuse to be explained.UFO Chronicles Podcast can be found on all podcast players and on the website: https://ufochroniclespodcast.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/ufo-chronicles-podcast--3395068/support.

In the small, midwestern city of South Bend, Indiana, for members of the LGBTQ+ community, having a space for themselves is life changing. And for twenty years, people here have had that space. Today, it's called the LGBTQ Center. As the Center approached its twentieth anniversary, Dr. Jamie Wagman and students from Saint Mary's College students preserved the history of the Center by conducting oral histories of fourteen people who were foundational to the Center's evolution. For the Center's anniversary gala in 2025, Dr. Wagman and student Phoenix McClellan pulled clips and organized them into this presentation. Featuring the voices of some of the many people whose time and dedication have shaped the LGBTQ Center throughout its two decades, including Rhonda Redman, Hank Mascotte, Phillip Schatz, Meghan Buell, Eli Williams, Drew Gardner, Nancy Mascotte, H.R. Jung, Michael McMillion, Krista Cox, Angela Hankins, Kathryn Kirk, J.D. Schock, Jamie Morgan, Derek McDowell, and Rhiannon Carlson. This episode was produced by Dr. Jamie Wagman and Phoenix McClellan from Saint Mary's College, by Jon Watson and Caleb Matz from the Ernestine M. Man, we had a blast diving into this chat about robotics, AI, and all that nostalgic stuff that just hits us right in the feels. We were cracking up, talking about how robots and AI are sneaking into our everyday lives—think self-driving cars or that Roomba zipping around our floors. We got to joking about what the future’s gonna look like with all this tech, laughing about how we might end up arguing with our toasters someday. And those old commercials? Oh man, we were losing it, swapping memories of jingles that still live rent-free in our heads. Then we went full-on memory lane, swapping stories about the quirky origins of peanut butter and our love for snacks like Oreos—yep, we’re the ones twisting ‘em apart for that creamy center. It got us thinking about how food, especially cookies, shaped our childhood vibes, like sharing one was a total power move at school. We even chuckled about the physics of food collisions, picturing cookies crumbling in epic lunchroom battles. We were cracking up about how some of our favorite snacks just vanished—like, where’d they go? We’re still out here chasing the perfect cookie. Then we got to chatting about Indiana’s food scene, sharing stories about its exports like ducks and popcorn. The whole convo was just us vibing, tossing out funny anecdotes and insights about food, culture, and all those little quirks we grew up with.

Five years ago, Anthwon Thomas had a small, scrappy real estate team of just 2 or 3 people. No leverage, just hustle, heart, and a belief that more was possible. Fast forward to today, and that same small operation has grown into a thriving team of 20 to 25 agents. They're not just holding steady in a tough market. They're outpacing it. While many agents and teams have seen production shrink by 10 to 15%, Anthwon's team has increased its production by 47%. So, how does that kind of transformation happen? What does it take to go from solo hustler to true team leader? In Anthwon's journey, there are lessons every agent and aspiring team leader can learn about what it means to level up. Because it's not just about adding agents, it's about building a culture where people can thrive. It's about systems, standards, and structure. It's about showing up not just as a top producer, but as a coach, a guide, and an example. In this episode, Anthwon opens up about the mindset shifts, leadership challenges, and personal growth it took to go from agent to owner. In our market, sales have been dropping 10-15% year-over-year. Since 2022, we have increased our production by 47%. -Anthwon Thomas Things You'll Learn In This Episode The how but not the will Great team environments provide all the tools an agent needs to thrive, but not the will. How do you know that an agent has what it takes? How to grow in a shrinking market In a market where sales are dropping by 10-15% year-over-year, how has Anthwon's team increased production by 47%? How to fail forward Team leaders often fall into the trap of stepping out of production too fast. How did Anthwon turn that breakdown into a business breakthrough? Guest Bio Anthwon Thomas is the Founder of Silver Lining Real Estate Group. After watching his mother run a successful business by providing great customer service, Anthwon knew he wanted to do the same. After finding his passion in Real Estate over 9 years ago, he quickly realized there was a great lack of customer service in the industry. To continue to provide the type of high-level customer service he wanted to give, he needed to build a team. Thus, Silver Lining Real Estate Group was born! Since 2015, Silver Lining has helped over 800 families across Indiana. Follow @anthwonthomas on Instagram. Not only did the Marion County Election Board vote to open an investigation into his recent advertisement where he is accused of potentially violating Indiana election law. On top of that, Morales is facing questions about an apparent meeting with Hungarian officials where he may have pledged action related to agriculture affairs he does not appear to have authority over. On this week's Statehouse Happenings, Rob Kendall, Abdul-Hakim Shabazz, and Jim Merritt discuss the latest unflattering news for the Indiana Secretary of State. Hour 1 The Knicks are down 3-1, leading Gio to declare the series over, though Boomer holds out until the Pacers win their fourth. Boomer noted the Knicks' best defensive players "got torched," highlighting the team's inconsistency. The Knicks face elimination at home, a place they haven't played well. In other sports, the Yankees beat the Angels, and the Mets defeated the White Sox. Oddly, Brandon Nimmo made a baserunning blunder. Off the field, Terry Bradshaw weighed in on Aaron Rodgers, and Tyreek Hill had a blunt take on Travis Hunter. The hour ended with Knicks fans calling in, one suggesting Thibs be fired. Hour 2 Larry Johnson showed no nostalgia for his famous 4-point ball when asked. The conversation shifted back to the Knicks' lack of identity and inconsistent play. Jerry's update included sound bites from Thibs and players, along with highlights from the Mets' win (Alonso homer) and the Yankees' victory (Rice homer, Rodon's strong outing). Boomer seems to believe the AL East race is "over." Terry Bradshaw reiterated his stance against Aaron Rodgers joining the Steelers for one year. The segment concluded with a humorous anecdote about Maggie Gray mistaking an impersonator for Sammy Hagar, and a caller suggesting the Knicks bring back Charles Oakley to change their "mojo." Hour 3 The Knicks' 3-1 series deficit sparked debate, with Gio suggesting the NBA "fix" games and callers decrying biased officiating, despite Tyrese Haliburton's stellar performance. Some fans, however, see the loss as part of the Knicks' natural progression. Jerry predicted a Knicks win in the next game, while the Pacers coach discussed the playoff back-and-forth. In baseball, the Mets defeated the White Sox, marked by a confusing baserunning play from Brandon Nimmo, and the Yankees held off the Angels despite a shaky ninth inning from Devin Williams. The hour concluded with a discussion about dog dancing. Hour 4 Frustrated Knicks fans called in after the team's loss in Indiana, with one expressing dislike for Karl-Anthony Towns and another questioning why the series is being discussed as if it's over. Jerry's update included Pat McAfee yelling at celebrities and Brandon Tierney's social media comment that the Pacers are simply "better." In baseball, the Yankees beat the Angels with homers from Rice and Peraza, while the Mets scored four in the first against the White Sox. Ohtani already has 20 home runs. Terry Bradshaw called the idea of Aaron Rodgers joining the Steelers "a joke," suggesting he "chew on bark" in California. Tyreek Hill bluntly dismissed Travis Hunter as "gonna be ass." The "Moment of The Day" featured Boomer not paying attention during an update. The hour concluded with the sentiment that Tyrese Haliburton's dominant performance sealed the Knicks' fate, noting the only playoff game where the Knicks felt in control was Game 6 against Boston.

Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers talk NBA playoff betting. The guys also give out best bets. This episode of RJ Bell's Dream Preview: NBA Playoff Edition with Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers provides an in-depth analysis of two critical NBA playoff matchups: Knicks vs. Pacers Game 4 and Thunder vs. Timberwolves Game 5. The conversation opens with a reflection on Game 3, where the Knicks overcame a 20-point deficit to win. This turnaround stemmed from strategic adjustments—starting Mitchell Robinson and bringing Josh Hart off the bench—allowing New York to clamp down on Indiana's offense. Jalen Brunson struggled with foul trouble and inefficiency, contributing just six field goals on 18 attempts and a single assist. Despite his limited impact, the Knicks held Indiana to only 42 second-half points, a stark contrast to the Pacers' usual offensive rhythm. Hart's late-game rebounds and composure at the free-throw line stood out, and Towns' fourth-quarter scoring lifted the team to its first win of the series. Mackenzie discussed RJ Bell's "fourth quarter win share," an advanced stat favoring teams with strong late-game control, suggesting the Knicks had been more dominant across multiple quarters despite their earlier losses. Looking to Game 4, the hosts note the Pacers as 2.5-point home favorites with a 220.5 total. Mackenzie and Munaf favor the Knicks and the under, emphasizing that a defensive-focused Knicks approach correlates strongly with low-scoring games. Brunson's role is expected to shift toward playmaking, reducing his shot volume. His under 29.5 points prop is Mackenzie's best bet, backed by historical splits where he's gone under this line 20 times versus 19 overs. Meanwhile, Towns is averaging over 25 points and 11 rebounds per game in the series and is projected to exceed both point and rebound props. Transitioning to the Thunder-Timberwolves series, OKC leads 3-1. Game 3 saw a dominant Timberwolves blowout, but OKC rebounded in Game 4 behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 40-point near triple-double and key support from Jalen Williams and the bench. SGA's leadership was pivotal—his late-game assists demonstrated poise under pressure. Mackenzie praised SGA's situational IQ and contrasted it with Anthony Edwards' passive play. Edwards is averaging only 17 FGA per game, the lowest of his postseason career, and scored just 24 PPG despite efficient shooting. Postgame, he deflected criticism, saying he didn't struggle because he didn't take enough shots. Mackenzie critiqued this mindset, calling for Edwards to embrace higher usage when it matters most. With SGA elevating his impact and Edwards retreating, Mackenzie believes the Thunder's edge in leadership and strategy is decisive. In Game 5, OKC is an 8.5-point favorite. Munaf's best bet is the Thunder team total over 114.5, citing strong home scoring trends. SGA's over 6.5 assists is another key angle, supported by three overs in four games and an average of 8.5 APG. The Thunder have shot below their season average from three, suggesting positive regression is likely at home. Mackenzie projects a potential 120–102 OKC win and predicts they'll close the series. The hosts close with futures discussion, noting the NBA's growing parity. The Thunder are +225 favorites for next season, while teams like the Knicks, Pacers, Cavs, and Wolves range from 8/1 to 12/1. Mackenzie emphasizes the historical rarity of such dispersed odds beyond the top team. He speculates Giannis may be traded, naming the Knicks and Rockets as possible destinations. He lauds Sam Presti's roster-building and envisions OKC as a possible dynasty. In conclusion, Munaf and Mackenzie agree the Finals might be lopsided but promise strong betting value through derivatives and props. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
