Liebesspiele als Stimmenspiel. Welche Rolle spielen Beziehungen in unserem Leben?

She died at the age of 47 -- right at the pinnacle of her personal happiness and professional acclaim. Fifty years later, writer Robin Clifford Wood went to live in Rachel’s long-neglected home on the rugged shores of an island in Maine and began dredging up Rachel’s history. On this episode, Robin discuss her book THE FIELD HOUSE, a compelling blend of biography and memoir, that recounts the remarkable life of writer Rachel Field from the perspective of a woman who lived in Field’s old, neglected island home in Maine, sparking a unique sisterhood across time. On this episode, travel writer and author Linda Ballou discusses her new novel, “Embrace of the Wild,” that's inspired by the life of equestrian explorer and travel writer Isabella Lucy Bird. It shares the story of raw courage and fierce strength of a plucky English woman’s un-flinching desire to be free. Impetuous, strong-willed Isabella defied her strict Evangelical upbringing and the societal expectations of the Victorian age to fulfill her dreams. She redeemed her body after botched surgeries on her spine resulting in years of chronic back pain. She jumped ship on a world tour to spend six months in the nurturing clime of the Sandwich Islands There she mustered the stamina to ride on the flank of a living volcano in Hawai’i and venture deep into the sacred Waipio Valley. After reclaiming her body she ventured to Estes Park in Colorado. There she herded feral cattle in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains and convinced ruffian, Rocky Mountain Jim, to guide her up towering Longs Peak. She finds peace in the arms of Jim her “dear desperado.” Ride with this intrepid horsewoman on her 800-mile mountain tour in the Rockies in winter depending upon the kindness of strangers and the stout heart of her mare Birdie to survive on her way to becoming the best-loved travel writer of her time. As I said at the start of the last episode reinventing recruitment marketing is a big topic for talent acquisition this year. Long term listeners to the podcast will also know about my deep-held belief that careers sites are the critical element of recruitment marketing that remains very much underutilised. Many forward-thinking employers are now turning to careers site systems to maximise the recruitment marketing benefits of careers site and minimise their development pain points. So what happens when we start thinking about careers sites as sophisticated software solutions rather than one-off creative projects? My guest this week is James Saunders, CEO of Attrax. Over the last few years, James has been one of the pioneers of careers site systems and has a massive amount of knowledge and experience to share. In the interview, we discuss: ▪ What is a careers site system? ▪ The focal point of employer branding ▪ Strategic positioning ▪ Why employers should invest in their own asset ▪ The dreaded "log in to apply." ▪ The core elements of sophisticated careers sites ▪ Optimising the candidate experience ▪ Personalisation and AI ▪ Unique stats and analytics ▪ Learning from eCommerce ▪ Future innovations Subscribe to this podcast in Apple Podcasts
When did you realise there is power in your race? Since early 2019, we've been asking each guest that comes on Race Matters that very question. As we crawl to the finish line of this unbelievably challenging year, we thought we'd revisit a bunch of guests' answers. You'll hear from Alicia Johnson, Carolina De La Piedra, Eunice Andrada, IJALE, James Saunders, Janette Chen, Jingan Young, Kiley Reid, Kirli Saunders, KYVA, Lee Tran Lam, Nardean, Prinita Thevarajah, Rachael Hocking, Sab D'Souza, Tasman Keith, Teela Reid, Vivian Pham, Ziggy Ramo and Zindzi Okenyo. This show would be nothing without our incredible guests. They brought so much honesty, heart, candour and humour to each conversation – even in this dumpster fire of a year – and we could not be more grateful. And of course, we'd also be nothing without you! THANK YOU for hanging out with us this year. Stay safe and take care over the holidays. We'll catch you in 2021. xo See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
