Many of the outlined ambitions of Project 2025 are focused around concentrating executive power, de-regulation, and religious protections, all of which have massive implications in the U.S. and around the world. Gillian Kane, Director of Global Research and Advocacy at Ipas, sits down to talks with us about the active, global reach of Project 2025 and Protego—in multiple countries and in global governance. In the previous administration, the Geneva Consensus Declaration (GCD) was a tool to cement America and its allies as anti-abortion. This manifesto, signed by 36+ countries, pushes national sovereignty, “traditional” family structures, and anti-abortion ideology, and is used as a guide for Project 2025. Protego, a program designed by the Institute for Women's Health (IWH), is a new project dedicated to ensuring the GCD takes off. Valerie Huber, past member of the Trump administration and current head of the IWH, has traveled to multiple countries and spoken primarily to first ladies on the implementation of Protego. Valerie Huber is known to be anti-abortion, anti-LBTQI+, and a proponent of abstinence-only education. Operation Choke Point 2.0 refers to the idea that there has been coordinated action by bank regulators to try to force crypto out of the system - something which the current administration strenuously denies. New York Magazine recently found more evidence than they might have believed for the effort. Enjoying this content? Operation Choke Point was an Obama-era initiative that put political pressure on banks and financial institutions to deny service to out-of-favor industries. Something similar is happening again with intense pressure being exerted for banks not to service the crypto industry. On this first part of a two-episode special, NLW looks at what's happening, as well as the key recent history of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the U.S.' main banking regulator. CORRECTION NOTE: At the 4:18 mark, NLW states: “At present there are two outstanding applications for licenses to operate national trust banks from Anchorage and Paxos, and these applications appear likely to be rejected by the OCC.” This was a mis-statement. Anchorage Digital is the only operational OCC-chartered digital asset bank, with their charter was approved by the OCC in January 2021. Paxos and Protego are the outstanding applications. Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is Luna Lovegood and the Chamber of Secrets, Part 4: Luna Lovegood and the Chamber of Secrets , published by lsusr. Luna located the Ravenclaw Common Room on the map. She climbed up to Ravenclaw Tower, then climbed up Ravenclaw Tower. All that separated Luna from making day-one friends was a door with a bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle which spoke riddles appropriate for first-years. She could almost hear muffled sounds of the other children partying. Luna knocked once. The eagle spoke with Rowena Ravenclaw's voice. "Where is my diadem?" Luna lacked sufficient hours-until-breakfast to find the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw. Luna curled up in an alcove close to where heat leaked out of the Common Room. She wrote a thank you note to the house-elves for keeping the floor clean. "I'm going to call you Wanda," Luna said to her Wrackspurt. Wanda appeared on the Marauder's Map. Luna clicked her tongue and then spellotaped the Comed-Tea can to her ear so Wanda could feed. Luna's brain went fuzzy. Then she was asleep. Luna woke to the sound of Ravenclaw going down to breakfast. Luna removed Wanda from her ear. Someone had placed a blanket over Luna while she slept. Luna threw the blanket off before anyone else spotted her and realized she hadn't solved the riddle. She knocked once on the eagle. The riddle hadn't changed. On her way to breakfast, Luna passed the Forgotten Library at the base of Ravenclaw Tower. She had to eat food because she was a human being. Or she could explore a room that had stood for a thousand years and would probably still be there tomorrow. The entrance to the Forgotten library was a grey heptagon embedded in the wall. Its interior emitted monochromatic grey light. Luna stepped into the Forgotten Library. Luna stepped out of the Forgotten library. She checked her satchel for quill, parchment and inkwell. Luna wrote "Exploration Journal" at the top of the parchment. Luna stepped into the Forgotten Library. Luna stepped out of the Forgotten Library. She held a sheet of parchment with "Exploration Journal" at the top. Luna stepped into the Forgotten Library. Luna stepped out of the Forgotten Library. She had left her exploration journal inside. Luna stepped into the Forgotten Library. Luna stepped out of the Forgotten Library. She held a blank sheet of parchment. She had missed her first Charms class. If she hurried she could still reach Battle Magic on time. The Marauder's Map showed a shortcut leading from a door disguised as a window to a window disguised as a door. Luna refenestrated herself onto the top floor of prosaic geometric space just outside the Battle Magic classroom. Professor Lockhart had preserved Former Professor Quirrel's tradition of combining all four Houses into a single class. He had also combined all seven years into a single class. Professors Burbage, Lapsusa, Sinistra, Trelawney, Vector and Yue were there too, plus Headmistress McGonagall, Miss Pince and Madam Pomfrey. Hogwarts had grown an auditorium that rotated with the Sun under a geodesic dome to ensure Gilderoy Lockhart could always be seen in the best possible light. Gilderoy Lockhart's smile shouted I love you to you, personally. "Before we begin I have a demonstration. Protego," Lockhart said, "On the count of three I want someone to hex me. One." Gilderoy Lockhart had given this demonstration dozens of times to witches and wizards around the world. Most were not duelists. Those who were tended to be too surprised to cast anything. This was Gilderoy Lockhart's first interaction with the survivors of Former Professor Quirrel's armies. A hundred hexes hit Gilderoy Lockhart before he could say "two". The Defense Professor's podium was molten slag. His body resembled a Blast-Ended Skrewt. Purple smoke billowed up from the shattered dome. The professors rushed to his aid. Head...
Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is Luna Lovegood and the Chamber of Secrets, Part 9: Luna Lovegood and the Chamber of Secrets - Part 9, published by lsusr. The Ministry-sanctioned tour of the Chamber of Secrets was pure propaganda. The Marauder's Map showed a second entrance to the Chamber of Secrets hidden in the Girls' Bathroom. "Hss hsssss hsss," Luna copied from Harry Potter. A sink opened up into a large tunnel. "Lumos, Luna said. Each tunnel segment was designed in the same pattern as the previous, as if to deliberately disorient adventurers. Luna closed her eyes in case Slytherin's basilisk was still alive. "Nox," Luna said. It was quiet under the school. The tunnels smelled faintly of mildew. Ministry tours turned left at every fork. Luna placed her right hand on the right wall. She felt destiny wrapping around her. Salazar Slytherin's secrets would be hers. Luna followed the right wall until she bumped into the bones of a giant monster. "Lumos," Luna said. Some Gryffindor had slayed the basilisk before it could pass on its secrets to the Heir of Slytherin. Ministry archaeologists had defanged the skeleton. So much for destiny. Salazar Slytherin had circumvented the Interdict of Merlin. But why? If Slytherin had wanted secrets to be preserved then he could have just passed them on to his students. No. Ravenclaw had positioned her diadem to be discovered by someone hunting nargles. Slytherin had done something similar. But who was his target? Only a Parselmouth could talk to Slytherin's basilisk. Only a Parselmouth could enter the Chamber of Secrets. If only a Parselmouth could talk to the basilisk then it made sense to make the entrance only allow Parselmouths in so that you didn't get a Gryffindor charging in and killing the basilisk before talking to it. Except Slytherin's security by obscurity had failed. That left the question of why. Parselmouthes were not special. They did not have secondary characteristics. There was no reason for Salazar Slytherin to leave his greatest secrets to someone random to find. The only thing he would know about the Heir of Slytherin was that whoever opened the Chamber of Secrets: Could speak Parseltongue and could therefore communicate with Slytherin's basilisk. Would have opened the Chamber of Secrets. Chamber of Secrets. Plural. The mazelike passageways echoed Daedalus's Labryinth. The Heir of Slytherin was supposed to use Salazar's secrets to slay the monster Slytherin himself never could. Instead, a Gryffindor had broken into the Chamber of Secrets first, slayed Slytherin's basilisk, released the real monster, declared victory and returned home. Luna bolted to the Ministry-sanctioned exit. The Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff semifinal duel was that evening. Luna faced two Hufflepuffs. It was supposed to be a doubles tournament. "I'm not alone," Luna said to Wanda, "I have you." Gilderoy Lockhart counted down. There was a bang from his wand. "Protego," Luna said. Luna's shield blocked the first Hufflepuff's sleep hex. The second Hufflepuff's stunning hex smashed through her shield. Luna collapsed. The Hufflepuffs rushed up to check on Luna. "Somnium," Luna whispered, "Somnium." Luna felt around for the unconscious Wanda, who she stuffed in her pocket. Luna stood up and held her wand high. Thanks for listening. Leadership, Cybersecurity, and Transformation. In this episode of The Outspoken Podcast, host Shana Cosgrove talks to retired Rear Admiral Danelle Barrett, former deputy CIO of the US Navy, Director of Operations at Cyber Command and Author of ‘Rock the Boat'. Danelle talks about what it was like to be a wife and mother while serving the Nation. She goes into the values of communication and importance of the transformational opportunities in life. We also get to hear about the writing and production process of Danelle's book, Rock the Boat and what made her decide to write. Lastly, Danelle allows us to hear about her past experiences working at Disney World, what she wishes she did differently, and her ‘embarrassing mom moment.' QUOTES “So, I think sometimes we have to really be mindful and open to whatever's coming our way. Be a little Semper Gumby, a little flexible, and leap at that opportunity that we just wouldn't have seen or didn't see because we were so blind [with] everything we thought we wanted.”– Danelle Barrett [12:20] “So, her dream was just as important as mine and my husband's. So, there's ways in families to manage that, but it takes effort, takes some coordination and stuff like that, but you know, you can't be solely focused on your career yourself. You got to make sure that everybody else's dreams and aspirations are just as important as yours and taken care of.”– Danelle Barrett [28:56] “...I do believe, you know, as a leader you have to look for those opportunities that are transformational. Cloud native computing is bringing about such a sea change in how applications are developed, deployed and run, that, not surprisingly, it is changing the rules for information security as well. Case in point: serverless computing. In this latest edition of The New Stack makers podcast, we speak with Check Point's Cloud Security Strategist Hillel Solow, who has been at the cutting edge of these changes. Solow co-founded Protego Labs, a pioneer in serverless security. Security vendor Check Point saw the writing on the security wall early on and gobbled up Protego in 2019. The New Stack Publisher Alex Williams and TNS Editor Joab Jackson hosted this episode.

I recently read how a phishing scam was discovered in Google Cloud Services, the latest sign of hackers quickly evolving to attack these environments. To fully protect themselves from the growing threat, organizations need to adopt a Zero Trust policy that can be enforced across the cloud. Pulse Secure also announced Pulse Zero Trust Access (PZTA), a cloud-based, multi-tenant secure access solution that enables organizations to provide anywhere access to multi-cloud and data center applications with Zero Trust assurance. I invited Scott Gordon back on to the podcast to learn more about how organizations can scale Zero Trust protections to their entire infrastructure, including cloud or multi-cloud environments. Scott Gordon is the Chief Marketing Officer at Pulse Secure, responsible for global marketing strategy, communications, operations, channel, and sales enablement. He possesses over 20 years of experience contributing to security management, network, endpoint, data security, and risk assessment technologies at innovative startups and large organizations across SaaS, hardware, and enterprise software platforms. Previously, Scott was CMO at RiskIQ and ForeScout (FSCT). He has also held executive and management roles at AccelOps (acq by Fortinet), Protego (acq by Cisco), Axent (acq by Symantec), and McAfee. Pulse Secure suites uniquely integrate cloud, mobile, application, and network access to enable hybrid IT in a Zero Trust world. Today, more than 80% of the Fortune 500 and over 20,000 enterprises (and 18M end-points) and service providers across every vertical entrust Pulse Secure to empower their mobile workforce to securely access applications and information in the data center and cloud while ensuring business compliance.

This time on SpeakBeasty: Welcome to SpeakBOOsty season! The Phoenix Register: Filming has started. Sets being rebuilt and reused, and new COVID rules for filming. Jude Law's beard is glorious! Could this be WB's way of showing a time gap between movies 2 and 3? Or is he simply becoming one with Dumbledore's character? Humans can be a bunch of dumb herd animals. Jack Sparrow vibes? Or "Johnny Depp plays yet another pale weirdo" vibes? "Violence is not the answer." That is our new political statement. Is that a political statement? Welcome to 2020. Why would you run if you could apparate? Wouldn't that come with some level of hollering while apparating? Protego Diabolica. Are we just making up things now? Whose hug is creepier? Grindy with Credence, or Voldy with Draco? There's a love triangle here. Read the room, Grindy. Zoe Kravitz, a secret gateway between Batman filming and FaBe2? Marjolaine gives us an awesome alchemy interpretation of the "finete" fire scene. Podcast Question: Do you think that the fire or Grindewald determined who to save and who to destroy? If the fire, how do you think that was determined? If Grindelwald, how did he protect his followers?
Odcinek został nagrany w siedzibie The Heart, na 38 piętrze warszawskiego wieżowca Warsaw Spire.

W nowej odsłonie podcastu o epidemii koronawirusa rozmawiamy o aplikacji do śledzenia kontaktów ProteGO Safe. Dotychczas w Polsce zainstalował ją niecały 1% populacji, a żeby aplikacja była skuteczna powinno z niej korzystać 60%. O przydatności i skuteczności aplikacji rozmawiamy z Sylwią Czubkowską, redaktorką naczelną serwisu Spider's Web+. Prowadzi Paweł Wiejski. Dzisiejsze wydanie przygotowali: Piotr Żakowiecki, Kinga Pałasz, Maciej Kurczewski, Paweł Wiejski i Marcin Bąba. Zapraszamy do słuchania.
Inflacja. ProteGO i inwigilacja. Zatrzymanie za plakaty. Black Lives Matter. Nowe komunistyczne państwo. Wolność Słowa. Elmer już nie postrzela.
Nowy tydzień w technologii rozpoczynamy standardowo podsumowaniem starego.

Alexander Buschek has been an IT professional for many years. He is passionate about digital transformation and the opportunities it will give businesses — especially SMBs. He is convinced that every business has to embrace digital transformation in one way or another, in order to survive. The sooner a business starts its digital transformation, the better. To support this process, spread awareness, and share experiences, he started The Digital Transformation Blog.Alexander was, at the time of this interview, the CIO of Cherry GmbH, well known for their excellent keyboards and MX switches, who hired him because of his profound knowledge of digital transformation and digitalization. Alexander has since moved on to Gartner Group, where he is Senior Director, Analyst of Midsize Enterprises. Marc has already recorded multiple podcast guest appearances, some of which have already been published. Go to CareerPivot.com/launch you’ll find all the links of all the podcast episodes.[2:57] Marc will be in Austin the week of September 22nd, the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area the week of September 29th, and D.C., the following week. Marc would love to meet his readers and listeners. [3:09] Marc has many events planned. You can find them on CareerPivot.com/launch. [3:20] Next week, Marc will interview Kerry Hannon, author of Never Too Old to Get Rich: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Starting a Business Mid-Life. [3:30] This week will be an encore episode from Episode 72, when he interviewed Alexander Buschek. Marc finishes the episode with a short update discussion that he recorded last week with Alexander. Marc shares Alexander’s biography. [4:51] Marc introduces Alexander. Alexander talks about being desperate, looking for a job before working with Marc. He sent applications everywhere and didn’t get answers. He also had a difficult bio, being self-employed for more than 24 years, then became the CIO of one of his customers. He decided he needed help and he found Marc. [5:58] Marc started Alexander through the rebranding process. Alexander shares the roadmap he followed. [6:06] The first step for Alexander was the Birkman assessment to find out who he was; what were his strengths and weaknesses. He learned new things about himself. Marc encouraged him to have a blog, videos, and write a book. He’s still working on the book. [7:00] The roadmap was about getting to know himself and writing a white paper, as a preliminary for the blog. Then he started writing the blog and became the thought leader in digital transformation. Then his visibility started. People asked him to speak at conferences, which was a great experience for him. [7:34] Marc frequently told Alexander to be bold. At first, Alexander didn’t see himself as bold. Then he found out that he was bold. He was not reluctant to speak up and do the things he thought were necessary. [8:24] Marc was blown away by Alexander’s resume. Alexander didn’t see himself as a hot commodity, however. He had to learn to understand his achievements and tell people about his experience. [9:38] Alexander’s white paper was about cloud technology. He had been working with InFor ERP systems and they wanted to access the Cloud. In Germany, many were reluctant to even look into it. So he thought, at least he needed to look into it. He figured out that cloud technology is the future. [11:05] Alexander used Dragon Naturally Speaking (Now Nuance Dragon) to write. You just talk and you see it written in Word. It was very helpful. This is an easy way to write a blog post if you write the way you speak. [12:22] While Alexander was networking as the CIO of Protego he approached Autodesk to ask if CAD systems could be based in the cloud. Autodesk invited him to the Hannover Fair to look at how it was being used at the time, including Fusion 360. [13:18] After a conversation with one of the managers there, they invited Alexander to be part of a panel discussion by the Financial Times in Berlin in cooperation with Autodesk. [13:36] The panel was on digital transformation, in English. Alexander used it for his blog with great success. He found that personal branding is making sure people get the impression of you that you want them to have. [14:40] After being on the Financial Times panel, Alexander started writing his blog posts. He spoke at another event for Autodesk. His speaking career snowballed. [15:53] Alexander spent the Christmas holidays in 2016, shooting videos about digital transformation, based on his conference presentations. Headhunters started to approach him. He expanded his LinkedIn network significantly. [17:32] Doing videos helped Alexander’s presentation skills a lot. [19:20] Making a video requires one hour or more of effort for every minute of finished video. Alexander explains his process for making a video. [20:46] Alexander is proudest of getting his new job. It is a challenging job. He is proud that he was asked, rather than sending in his application. He branded himself doing what he loved to do and showing his expertise, with the goal of getting a new job. [21:41] Alexander was passionate about digital transformation. His previous job had given him no opportunity in that area. It is present or will be present in every company. Alexander became an expert on it, after a lot of work. If you want to rebrand your life, there is no way around a lot of hard work with a lot of discipline. [24:21] Alexander credits Marc with inspiring him to push forward, in steps. Marc gave Alexander small steps, such as a whitepaper, a blog, and videos, to do one at a time that really kept him going. The next step is to write the book. [25:54] Alexander’s advice to anyone who wants to rebrand themselves: You can do it! However, you need to be patient and put a lot of effort into it. With the effort comes success. Be bold. Be patient. Get some advice and get a job coach. Reading a book alone does not usually provide the motivation. [28:25] Alexander looked off into the future and positioned himself in a niche of digital transformation for SMBs. Alexander can be reached at DigitalTransformationBlog.com. Alexander answers comments. Or email Alexander at Alex@Buschek.info. [29:37] Marc hopes Alexander has inspired listeners to be bold! [30:12] Alexander first contacted Marc by LinkedIn after reading Marc’s book, Personal Branding for Baby Boomers: What It Is, How to Manage It, and Why It's No Longer Optional. When Alexander contacted Marc, he had 70 LinkedIn contacts; today he has 1,200 or so. [30:57] Marc brings Alexander back on the podcast for an update interview. Alexander started as the CIO at Cherry at the beginning of 2018. He had previously been interviewed four times to be an IT Analyst at Gartner. Recently, the Gartner recruiter sent Alexander a LinkedIn message asking if he was still interested in a position. [32:57] Alexander had wanted to work for Gartner in the first place, so he was happy to meet with them. After a series of interviews and a two-hour writing exercise, on his way back to the airport, he got an email (he was in a limousine, not driving) from Gartner congratulating him on getting the position. [34:32] Since March 1st, Alexander is a Senior Director Analyst for Mid-Sized Enterprises. Alexander helps MSE CIOs make the right decisions when it comes to digital business transformation and cloud strategy. He feels very comfortable in this job. He also writes research notes on leadership. [35:51] Marc thanks Alexander for being on the Repurpose Your Career podcast. Alexander invites you to contact him for advice on rebranding or digital transformation. Alexander’s path was hard work and really rewarding. Reach him at Alexander Buschek on LinkedIn. [36:52] Marc hopes you enjoyed this episode. Alexander was a real joy for Marc to work with a few years ago. He continues to prosper in his career. He took a lot of risks and did a lot of hard work to rebrand himself.
