This talk is the fifth installment in a wellness series that takes a distinctly yogic approach to understanding life's challenges and spiritual development.Acharya das discusses the concept of "false shelter" (durashraya in Sanskrit) - the tendency to place unlimited trust in things that cannot provide genuine protection or happiness. He uses examples ranging from relationships and material possessions to modern technology and social media to illustrate how people become victims of their own poor choices rather than external circumstances. He stresses the importance of taking personal responsibility for life decisions and developing consequential thinking.Acharya das concludes with an emphasis on the importance of cultivating atma-tattva (knowledge of the soul/self) and the necessity of reconnecting with the Supreme Soul as the only genuine source of shelter and protection. He advocates for regular chanting meditation as a transformative practice that can lead to self-realization and God-realization, describing it as an immersive experience rather than a mental activity. Quotes used in the talk:For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest enemy. Bhagavad-gītā 6.6For one whose mind is unbridled, self-realization is difficult work. But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by right means is assured of success. That is My opinion. Bhagavad-gītā 6.36When a man in the material world takes more interest in the materialistic way of life than in spiritual/God consciousness, he is considered to be in a diseased condition. The normal condition is to remain an eternal servant of the Lord. This healthy condition is lost when the living entity forgets God due to being attracted by the external features of Krsna's maya energy. This world of maya is called durasraya, which means “false or bad shelter.” One who puts his faith in durasraya becomes a candidate for hoping against hope. In the material world everyone is trying to become happy, and although their material attempts are baffled in every way, due to their nescience [ignorance] they cannot understand their mistakes. People try to rectify one mistake by making another mistake. This is the way of the struggle for existence in the material world. If one in this condition is advised to take to [cultivating] God consciousness and be happy, he does not accept such instructions. – Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami PrabhupadaPersons devoid of ātma-tattva do not inquire into the problems of life, being too attached to the fallible soldiers like the body, children and wife. Although sufficiently experienced, they still do not see their inevitable destruction. Bhāgavata Purāṇa 2.1.4“One who is not connected with the Supreme Soul can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?” – Bhagavad-gītā 2.66Chapters 00:00:00 Introduction to Yogic Wellness Philosophy 00:02:14 The Threefold Miseries and Realistic Expectations 00:04:35 Historical Foundation: Sanatana Goswami's Questions 00:13:32 Personal Responsibility in Relationships and Life Choices 00:19:24 The Search for Shelter and Modern Emptiness 00:26:07 Consequential Thinking and Rat Trap Happiness 00:29:17 Mind Control and Spiritual Practice 00:32:51 Modern Manipulation and Technology Addiction 00:37:34 False Shelter and Spiritual Guidance 00:42:00 Durashraya: The Nature of False Shelter 00:47:38 Fallible Soldiers and Spiritual Truth 00:50:00 True Shelter and Spiritual Connection 00:54:08 Chanting Meditation as Transformative Practice
Palestinian architect and artist Dima Srouji explores the systematic displacement of Palestinian material culture and the liberation lab working to bring it home. For over a century, archaeology in Palestine has been weaponized, used as a tool for land grabs and the erasure of contemporary identity. From ancient glass vessels held in Western museums to human remains stored in university basements, the physical history of Palestine has been excavated, categorized, and displaced. Dima discusses her work in restitching these archives through art and collaboration. By working with multi-generational artisans like the Twam family, who still possess the ancient know-how of glassblowing, she creates ghost objects that challenge the colonial narrative of a dead past. 00:00 Introduction 01:32 Architectural Education & the Spiritual Connection to the Land 07:30 The Liberation Lab 09:47 Ghost Objects: Restitching Material Heritage Through Palestinian Glass 12:28 The History of Colonial Archaeological Excavations 15:44 Challenging Museum Narratives 18:03 The Twam Family Workshop: Four Generations of Glassblowing in Jaba 21:28 Ancient History of Levantine Glass Fabrication 25:50 The Weaponization of Archaeology 29:47 Sebastia vs. the City of David 32:32 Saving Sebastia: Experimental Film as an Exercise in Creative Diplomacy 36:01 Reclaiming the Displaced Material Culture of Gaza 39:34 Excavated Human Remains 42:36 Rituals of Return 44:01 The Restorative Power of Broken Glass 48:43 Rememberment: A Form of Restitution 50:24 The Archive of the Palestine Exploration Fund 56:00 Future Projects and the Cosmic Mediterranean Dima is an architect, artist, and researcher interested in the ground, objects, displacement, restitution, forgeries, and living archives. Magic gets a lot harder to notice when we grow up, not because it disappears, but because we stop practicing the inner skills that pick up subtle signals. I'm Rainbow Raaja, and I'm sharing the exact energy work and meditation flow I use to build a clear, grounded connection with the fairy realm, even if you feel like your imagination has been “offline” for years. We start with practical breathwork you can do in minutes: breathing from navel to heart to sense energy moving, then expanding into a crown-to-spine circuit to gently activate your energetic channels. From there, I guide you through waking up your energy tail and opening your energy wings, using earth energy and a loving connection to Source (God, angels, ancestors, or whatever language fits your path). The focus stays on safety and softness: no forcing, no pushing through resistance, just steady attention that trains sensitivity. Then we shift into a guided journey to meet your fairy guide, ideally outside in nature among plants, trees, birds, and the elements. You'll follow a path through a field of wildflowers, offer a bouquet with intention, learn your guide's name, and ask what offerings and meeting places help your new friendship grow. I also share how to integrate what you experienced by drawing a portrait, writing the name down, and creating a simple altar near a houseplant so you can reconnect anytime. If you want to practice with others, I'm building a Patreon community with a free tier, and I'd love to hear how this practice goes for you. What are the "plans" we make? What is the end to which these plans are applied? Are these goals of our plans designed to allay our fear of the future? And why do we fear the future? Mostly our plans are to "guard against death" (which we fear) of our life "as a body." The world is based on defense, and our plans are defenses against the "threat of death." Why? Who are we as God created us? We have a SELF that God created who has no need of defenses. It is the SELF that God created us to be—immortal in its nature. If we defend "the body" with our mind, there will be a fear that brings about "death." This Lesson liberates us from planning from the ego's perspective. God has a plan for us to "resurrect" into our Reality—
Fairies aren't a children's story with glitter and moral lessons. They're portrayed here as complex, timeless nature spirits with laws, factions, and a long memory of how humans treat the Earth. I'm sharing a grounded PSA on fairy politics and society, plus the “rules of engagement” that show up again and again across fairy folklore, from names and food to gifts, promises, and the hidden cost of careless words. We walk through 10 fairy laws designed to keep humans safe and relationships clean. Why your full name matters, why you never eat or drink what's offered, why “thank you” can create a debt, and why you don't step into a fairy ring without explicit permission. We also talk iron as a serious deterrent, how the Fae read emotion and intention, and why time magic changes the stakes of entering any fairy realm. From there, we zoom out into Seelie Court and Unseelie Court dynamics and what those factions symbolize when you look at modern technology, pollution, pesticides, and the expansion of frequency-filled infrastructure. I connect these ideas to global mythology and cultural legends, then bring it back to the present: the veil thinning, strange “coincidences,” and why discernment plus reciprocity might be the most practical spiritual practice you can adopt. If you've ever felt the world is more enchanted and more political than it looks, hit play, then subscribe, share this with a friend who loves fairy lore, and leave a review with your biggest question about the Fae.
We open a month of fairy realm exploration with a playful invocation, then use the improv rule “yes and” to train our minds to notice magic without bypassing real shadow. We guide you through a four-option oracle reading to meet a fairy ally and leave you with grounded ways to practice, plus a sound bath activation to seal the transmission. • why inner child play supports spiritual connection and presence • how “yes and” reframes skepticism into curiosity • the Unity guide and heart-led connection to oneness beyond division • the Taitin the Sylph guide and building discernment through reflection • the Losgunna guide and finding adventure plus hidden gifts • the Oak Men guide and seeing past projections while letting emotions move • why words carry intention and how rumination can create spiritual debt • simple offerings and respectful rules for engaging the fairy realm • what we cover next week on folklore, courts, and avoiding trickster deals If you would like your own special fairy guide, please reach out to me on one of the links here. You can plan for danger and still be stunned by what saves you. I'm joined by John Graham, a Vietnam veteran and former US Foreign Service officer, to talk about the moments that cracked his worldview open: repeated near-death escapes, PTSD, and an uneasy question that wouldn't let go. John takes us from war zones and revolutions to trance meditation, out-of-body experiences, and a vivid encounter with a white light that reframed what “reality” even means. We get specific about the practices and the pressure points: a skeptical first step into the Inner Peace Movement, strange nighttime “smoke” visions, learning meditation, and then the terrifying sensation of letting go into a deeper trance. John shares the experience that forced him to decide whether he was losing his mind or discovering a larger field of consciousness. He also tells the story of a sudden healing that became his personal proof that something was listening, and how those experiences reshaped his morality, his ethics, and his capacity for compassion. Then we bring it back to the real world. John explains how he lived a double life while working at the United Nations and later planning nuclear war for NATO, why he eventually quit, and how a cruise ship fire off Alaska became a life-or-death reckoning with purpose. From there, we talk about service as a grounded spiritual path through the Giraffe Heroes Project, his short-form series Badass Grandad, and his practical framework for finding meaning: strategy first, tactics second. We also mention his memoir, Quest: Risk, Adventure and the Search for Meaning. If you care about spirituality, life purpose, mysticism, ethical leadership, and how to turn courage into action, this conversation is for you. EVEN MORE about this episode! Why do you feel tired, foggy, or “off” even when you're doing everything right? In this episode, Julie Ryan and Caroline Alan reveal how mineral depletion may be the hidden cause—and how restoring it can transform your energy, health, and spiritual clarity.Caroline breaks down why modern soil—and the food grown in it—has been stripped of essential minerals, leaving many people unknowingly depleted no matter how “healthy” they eat. If you've been struggling with brain fog, fatigue, sleep issues, or unexplained symptoms, this conversation will connect the dots in a way that just makes sense. But it goes even deeper. Caroline shares a powerful spiritual experience that revealed how a depleted body can dim your energetic field—while a properly nourished one can hold the frequency needed for clarity, intuition, and divine connection. Julie validates this with a live intuitive scan, describing a remarkable energetic interaction that ties physical health directly to spiritual awareness. If you've been searching for answers that bridge science, health, and spirituality, this episode will change how you see your body—and what it truly needs to thrive.Guest Biography:Caroline Alan is a health educator and advocate for mineral replenishment who transitioned from the corporate world after facing her own physical, mental, and energetic health challenges. The Third Man by Graham Greene---Exploring Graham Greene's postwar classic, The Third Man, Jesan Sorrells and Ryan J. Stout unravel the psychology of unreliable narrators, leadership in times of nihilism, and the timeless challenge of ethical decision-making amid a world of grifters and cons. They dive into Greene's cinematic writing style, his nuanced character portrayals, and how postwar Vienna mirrors our own era of skepticism and manipulation. The conversation draws out practical leadership lessons—particularly the need for sincerity and humility—in a landscape shaped by both history and human nature.Book Title: The Third ManAuthor: Graham GreeneGuests: Jesan Sorrells (host), Ryan J. We begin to Review the first 50 lessons. Nothing we see means anything because we are seeing with thoughts that we are "thinking" apart from Love, from God, from our Spiritual Connection. The first lessons are making us aware of how disconnected we are from our Source energy, and how we have made up a "thought system" to defend ourself from the fear that this separation engenders in us.
It is well-established that health issues that appear on a physical level are often related to or even caused by unaddressed emotions and/or energetic imbalances. This is also true for high-risk HPV, abnormal Pap smears, and cervical and vaginal cancer risk. As humans, when we experience symptoms — a headache, a skin rash, pain, or HPV and an abnormal Pap result — we tend to think of them as occurring only on a physical level. But research has demonstrated that these health issues are related to emotional and spiritual, or energetic, levels as well. When there is an imbalance, trauma, or unaddressed emotional or energetic issue, it can absolutely influence us physically. So, when something shows up as a symptom or diagnosis, it may be related to something happening emotionally or spiritually. I've been working with thousands of cases for over 25 years, so I've had a great deal of opportunity to observe these connections. When a patient comes to me with an abnormal Pap smear, autoimmunity, migraines, or a skin rash, I begin by looking at physical imbalances — hormones, nutrient deficiencies, microbiome issues for example. But I've learned that it doesn't stop there. We also need to consider what's happening emotionally and spiritually, which brings us to the influence of stress and trauma on the human experience. In this episode I'm going to discuss the mind, body, spirit connection to health, and how recovery from stress and trauma can help eliminate or reverse health issues on a physical, as well as emotional, and spiritual level.
