When developing and bringing a therapeutic for a rare disease to market, sponsors should think with the end in mind and plan for payer requirements early in protocol design. The economic and clinical value evidence required by payers for market access differs from the clinical efficacy and safety evidence demanded by regulators. Securing approval but lacking market access results in unrealized revenue and, most importantly, patients left untreated. But how do we price and how do we gain access on the promise of long-term value when we don't have the long-term data? In this podcast by Blog Talk Radio, Sangeeta Budhia, VP and Global Head, Pricing and Market Access, and Wyatt Gotbetter, Worldwide Head, Access Consulting, of Parexel discuss early market access planning, including inclusive data collection, payer models and the impact of new regulations and innovative trial design on data collection and ongoing evidence provision.

As the head of CBS for more than half a century, William S Paley was responsible for transforming the US broadcasting landscape. But his contribution to modern art was equally remarkable. A trip to Europe in the 1930s sparked a lifelong interest that would see the Chicago-born mogul go on to acquire pieces from many of the world's leading contemporary artists, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Francis Bacon. As the president and chairman of New York's MoMA, Paley also shaped the way that we understand the history of 20th-century art. In this episode, Sotheby's Worldwide Head of Sales for Global Fine Art, Brooke Lampley, and art critic Amah-Rose Abrams reveal what makes Paley's collection so extraordinary.
Today we welcome Eric Appel, Worldwide Head of Sales for Island, pioneers in the enterprise browser category. In this episode we talk aboutWhy Eric didn't hire startup sales peopleWhy it mattered to work with an exec team that has worked together for a long timeWhy 90% of first meetings convert to 2nd meetingsHow they exited stealth mode with real, live paying customersThe first deal they closed“Sometimes when you change one thing, you change everything.” My first thought when I heard this tag line: urgggh, here we go again! Another cyber security company is going to over hype themselves. But when I found out what they were building, my mind changed. It might just be true for Island!Eric remembers nearly everything about the day Island scored their first order. It was a big moment, and the next 10-11 orders were equally noteworthy, especially when you consider that Island was still in stealth mode. They eventually came out of stealth with a roster of prominent and influential clients where they'd proven their use cases and won over the CISOs.Coming out of stealth—and growing into that position—meant growing their sales team. Unlike most startups, Island went deep, into their networks. They hired folks they trusted, had worked with, colleagues and friends who had proven sales successes and a network to bring with them. Island also came to depend on the satisfied CISOs they worked with to talk about the product in their underground chat spaces, peer to peer. The rise in interest and confidence was something a sales pitch could never achieve on its own.Join me for a discussion with Eric Appel—a self-described early bird who likes to wake up to “the promise of the day”—who has helped Island seize that promise as well. “Sometimes when you change one thing, you change everything.” Now I'm a believer.

Being busy isn't an Identity Perks aren't office Culture Profit isn't all we want from Business Loneliness shouldn't happen in a Community Inequality isn't inevitable in a City We can all shape Society From the award-winning author and Financial Times columnist Elizabeth Uviebinené, a fundamental rethink of how we work and live. Because if we're going to really benefit from the radical shift of 2020, we have to rethink how we fit into an ecosystem. Elizabeth started with a simple desire to explore our relationship with work, and how it was impacting our lives. It became clear if we want to reset how we work as individuals, we're going to need to reset the work culture we exist in, the businesses we work for, the communities we're a part of, the cities we live in and the society we can shape. We can't just rethink one strand of society; we need to rethink everything together. It's time for a Reset. The Reset is a short, digestible audiobook for people who want to work better, and live better. Elizabeth addresses our urge to work differently, to work in a way that suits more parts of our lives. It's optimistic, positive and provocative, offering fresh perspectives on the way we live now, and a punchy idea for how we might live in the future. So what's possible now that would have seemed impossible before? In today's episode, Mike and Oteil welcome Jonny Podell, veteran music agent whose clients have included the Allman Brothers Band, Cyndi Lauper, Peter Gabriel, George Harrison, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, among many others. Jonny shares tales of debaucherous nights with musical greats and the dark depths of his addiction. He also describes his awakening, discovering meditation, and finding sobriety, joy, and inspiration. Jonny Podell consistently set the trends and created pathways that others have built careers on. In 1974, Podell's collaboration with his mentor and longtime friend Bill Graham, produced the historic trek by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young—the first stadium tour ever, selling out 50,000 seats in every city and establishing a new way to present rock ‘n' roll. As Head of Music for William Morris Agency, and then as Worldwide Head of Music for International Creative Management, Podell continued to add to his roster of stars, discovering illusionist David Blaine and signing Peter Gabriel. Evolution Talent was the next step for Podell and his new partner, David Zedeck. Together they helped guide the careers of pop sensations ‘NSync, Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. The dynamic duo booked stadium tours for all three artists at the same time. Podell also created two ongoing festivals—WANEE Festival in Northern Florida and PEACH Festival in Scranton Pennsylvania—for The Allman Brothers. These franchises continue to generate income for the founding artists after they have stopped touring. Podell has always drawn inspiration from his idol, boxing great Muhammad Ali. In 2012, that inspiration was fertilized by a simple meditation which grew into a full-on spiritual awakening. Podell has never been the same since. Podell launched into a personal journey of consciousness and truth, searching for a way to best serve the world. What has emerged like a phoenix rising from the ashes is a zealous mission “to serve existing spiritual teachers, healers, and consciousness-based artists by expanding their outreach to a wider audience through events, workshops, lectures, books, live-streaming, education, and media. Far too often we dehumanize people without even realizing we dehumanize them. Stepping into someone else’s shoes can be an eye-opening and powerful exercise to enable you to see how people relate to you when you’re out of your perceived sphere of comfort. So step into someone else’s shoes, really seeing them and acknowledge their experience and how it’s different to your own.
