Trudno o bardziej niezwykłe spotkanie przeszłości z przyszłością, sztuki z technologią, tradycyjnej sceny teatralnej z najnowszymi rozwiązaniami z obszaru VR (Virtual Reality) i AR (Augmented Reality). Jedno jest pewne – teatr wkroczył w nową erę. Zaledwie kilka miesięcy temu (14. czerwca 2024 r.) we Florencji odbyła się światowa premiera eksperymentalnej opery hybrydowej „Orfeo & Lwanda Hybrid Opera”, opowiadającej historię XVIII-wiecznego afrykańskiego wojownika Lwandy Magere i Orfeusza. O swoich doświadczeniach opowiedziała artystka i projektantka dr Anna Syczewska w rozmowie z naukowczynią i projektantką innowacji Agatą Bisping. Strefa Designu Uniwersytetu SWPS to projekt popularyzujący wiedzę z zakresu projektowania: produktów, architektury, wnętrz, mody i komunikacji. Pokazuje, czym jest dobre projektowanie i w jaki sposób realizuje ono konkretne potrzeby użytkowników. Więcej informacji o projekcie: https://web.swps.pl/strefa-designu.

There is so much buzz around AI or Artificial Intelligence, some with enthusiasm, some with great relief from the benefit it brings, some with fear.  The fear part is understandable in relation to job security but when you look at it in its deeper context, it outweighs the immense potential and opportunities that innovation brings. The advent of AI will pose a challenge to job security, but we can counter it by proactively expanding our knowledge and skills. By doing so, we allow it to shape a future that aligns with our visions and ambitions, transcending the limitations of the past.   The beauty industry adapted very well and AI (Artificial Intelligence) and AR (AUgmented Reality) has not only catered to the evolving needs of the modern-day consumer but also paved the way for a more immersive and personalized beauty experience. In this episode of Grace, Grit, and Glow, you will learn: Did the pandemic paved the way for the arrival of  these brilliant innovations in the beauty industry? AI and AR, how do these technologies actually work?  Why do we need innovation? Why should we welcome and embrace innovation? We have the great honor of speaking to an icon in our industry today! Corbin Ball, aka Mr. Technology, is an influential leader who has been sharing his knowledge, insights, and technological discoveries for many years! He was inducted into the Events Industry Council's Hall of Leaders in 2018 and was named the most influential person in the Top 25, five times! In this episode, Corbin talks to us about AI (Artificial Intelligence), AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and data insights and analytics. We hope you will enjoy listening to our conversation! Corbin Ball's bio: Corbin Ball, CSP, CMP, DES, MS is an international speaker, consultant, and writer helping clients worldwide use technology to save time and improve productivity. After more than a decade running international citywide technology meetings, Corbin transitioned in 1997 to become a highly acclaimed speaker with the ability to make complex subjects understandable and fun. Corbin is a 2018 inductee into the Events Industry Council's Hall of Leaders, the most prestigious honor in the meetings, conventions, and exhibitions industry. He is the only person to have received both the MPI International Supplier of the Year and the MPI International Chapter Leader of the Year awards. Corbin has been named as one of "The 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry" five times by Successful Meetings/Meeting News magazines. Corbin was named last month by Cvent as one of “20 Event Professionals You Should Be Following.” Corbin Ball's journey When he left college, Corbin became the Director of Educational Media for Western Washington University. That was where his immersion in technology began. Several years later, he was asked to help a small engineering association with the technological side of their events. He continued working for that association for about 15 years, during which time they grew to run the largest meetings in the world in the area of optics.  Technology was going to change everything In 1997, Corbin saw that technology was going to change everything. It became apparent that technology would change the world of events profoundly. So, he decided to travel more and form his own business as a speaker, consultant, and writer, focusing specifically on event technology. He was the first person to do that, and it has been a fun ride for him ever since then! Corbin Ball can lay claim to the longest-running website Corbin has the longest-running event technology website (www.corbinball.com). He started it shortly after forming his business, Corbin Ball and Company. He has loved helping event professionals understand technology so that they can improve their business processes. The silver lining The pandemic taught Corbin to slow down, smell the roses, and enjoy life wherever he is. Technological changes During the last 14 months, there has been an explosion of innovation, particularly in virtual meetings. Virtual meetings have changed more during this time than they have in the past decade.  The year of hybrid event technology and innovation All the best practices that we have learned from virtual meetings will forever change the face of in-person events. Corbin thinks that 2021 will be the year of hybrid event technology and innovation. Profound changes in society The best practices that we learned and the forced increased digitization of how we do business have created profound changes in our society.  Corbin Ball's thoughts on the future marketing of events  The way that events get marketed will be different in the future. As Corbin explains, there has been a lot of talk about establishing a year-round community and creating marketing campaigns to market events to that community. That community will use AI and do things differently and more efficiently.  Face-to-face  There is nothing that can replace face-to-face communication, interaction, and relationship-building, which are all key parts of the sales process. Exhibitors at exhibitions have complained of having low net promoter scores because they were unable to make the same connections as they do at face-to-face events. Yet, Corbin still feels that the virtual meetings piece will be substantially larger than it was in the past. The impact AI will have on meetings and events Corbin feels that AI will become one of the biggest and most profound trends of this decade. It will change everything. AI has many applications for events. In 2019, Wordly.ai created a technology for events that accurately translates voice into audio and text in 16 different languages. That technology can be used for virtual events to open the translations up to a much broader audience. Chatbots will also be helpful for events, as will AI technologies designed for biometrics. Zenus.ai does facial recognition for meeting registration and access control accurately, quickly, and securely. Anonymous facial analytics In the area of anonymous facial analytics, gender, estimated age, levels of interest, and emotions can all be measured. Facial analytics applications can also count the number of people in large groups, measure their age and gender, and even measure whether or not they are paying attention during an event. We will see facial recognition technology used more frequently for travel and hotel check-ins. Non-contact palm scans Non-contact palm scans can automatically scan the contents of a grocery basket instantly.  AI customization for events Some companies have been using the data points from people's event registrations to create algorithms to help them find matches for their interests with the exhibitors they should see or the sessions they should attend. There is a lot of growth potential in that area. Video recap  Another company has designed video recap software specifically for events. It creates searchable transcripts that highlight the key points throughout the presentations.  Vertical markets Every vertical market, from farming to pharmacology, will also be affected by artificial intelligence. Virtual Reality  For a virtual reality experience, you put on goggles and get taken to another place. Although that is not ideal for events, it can be helpful for hotel sales, site inspections, or elaborate equipment demos. Augmented and Mixed Reality Mixed reality is similar to augmented reality. It involves layering additional objects, information, or a character within the view that you are seeing. It can provide an effective display, but the headsets are, unfortunately, quite expensive. AI on a phone or tablet The technology for using AI on a phone or a tablet is well-established. It has been around for more than a decade. Recent upgrades to android devices and iPhones have improved the technology and made it much easier to use.  Augmented reality glasses In the future, we will be using normal-looking glasses that have augmented reality components for many different applications. Projection mapping With projection mapping, you can layer a digital experience on top of something concrete. You can convert the side of a building to be animated or create a stage set where people can interact with things that are not there. The technology for projection mapping has improved recently, making it easier to use and less expensive. Data integration and analytics One of the benefits of virtual meetings is that every click is trackable, and you can get rich data from every attendee. The same thing can apply to face-to-face events, although that is a little more difficult. Many systems will automatically give you data and analytics. Data analytics typically requires three things: You have to integrate all your different data sources with the analytics technology. You need to use artificial intelligence to analyze the data and see the insights. You need to make the data accessible to humans. (For example, by making a graph or a chart.) Once all the data has been brought together, you can use it to better serve your customers by providing them with what they are interested in and what they want. James Gowers, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, Perceptive Automata joins Grayson Brulte on The Road To Autonomy Podcast to discuss developing human intuition for autonomous vehicles. The conversation begins with James talking about leading the Harvard Business School soccer team to two National Championships and what he learned about teamwork as an Army Ranger in the German Federal Armed Forces.Being part of a team, being a leader does not mean that you are autocratic. The more important way to lead is by influencing. Being a solid part of the team, carrying your weight, and leading by example. – James GowersWith a clear understanding of the rigors of leadership and a background in business from the Harvard Business School, Grayson asks James how he first joined the autonomous vehicle industry.James shares a wonderful story of how a friendship with Mark Wheeler, Co-Founder & CTO of DeepMap led to him joining the industry. After a successful run at DeepMap, James joined Perceptive Automata to help them successfully raise their Series A round.Getting from Series A to Series B is hard work. – James GowersPerceptive Automata is working on developing human-like intuition for autonomous vehicles as driving is inherently a social activity. James goes onto explain how Perceptive Automata is developing machine-learning models that can glance at a human and make powerful predictions on their intent to cross the road.Grayson asks James if the machine-learning models can learn situational awareness. For example, can the models learn if an individual is walking, wearing headphones to staring at their phones, and generally not paying attention to the surroundings? Yes. James explains how the models capture behavior.Perceptive Automata's approach to situational awareness caught the attention of Jim Adler, Founding Managing Director of Toyota AI Ventures which invested in the company's Series A $16m round.Along with the investment, Jim wrote a Medium blog post titled: “Predicting the World Around Autonomous Vehicles: Our Investment in Perceptive Automata” about “theory of mind” and why Toyota AI Ventures invested in Perceptive Automata. In the Medium blog post, Jim wrote the following:As I've said before, cars are “social.” They exist alongside other human-operated vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. When we're behind the wheel, we constantly survey the roads looking for clues to help predict what other people will do. Will that teenage skateboarder jaywalk? Will the minivan driver speed up as I try to make an unprotected left-hand turn? Who goes first at a four-way stop if we all arrive at the same time?People use a “theory of mind” to face those kind of split-second decisions all of the time. However, what comes relatively easily to us humans is incredibly difficult for autonomous vehicles. To improve safety for passengers and pedestrians alike, it is so important to have an intuitive self-driving system that is able to recognize, understand, and predict human behavior.– Jim Adler, Founding Managing Director of Toyota AI VenturesJim's Medium blog post summed up Perceptive Automata's approach to situational awareness brilliantly. This approach is critical for autonomous vehicles which are deployed in dense urban environments.Grayson and James go onto discuss prediction models and planning for scenarios such as a baseball game a European football game getting out. Creating a situation where large groups of individuals are pouring out on the sidewalks and the roadway.Autonomous vehicles have to learn and be prepared for all situations. From large groups of individuals at sporting events to first-responder vehicles traveling down the road at high-speeds. Driving is unpredictable and human intuition is a critical part of driving safely.Perceptive Automata is developing human intuition for autonomous vehicles to make the roads safer for both passengers in autonomous vehicles and pedestrians walking or riding bicycles.Humans have this unique ability to glance at pedestrians and make, immediate, effortless predictions about someone's intent based on social cues, body language, etc. – James GowersThis is exactly what Perceptive Automata is developing for autonomous vehicles. Grayson asks James if this technology could be deployed into the security industry to spot potential bad actors through behavior.James explains how this technology can be applied to the security industry and the potential applications. Not only can Perceptive Automata's technology be applied for security applications, but it can also be used in the retail business to predict intent. Will the consumer purchase this product? Do they like the color of the product? The potential applications for predicting human intuition are endless.Wrapping up the conversation, Grayson and James discuss the current state of the autonomous vehicle industry and what happens if and when Apple unveils an electric autonomous vehicle with an AR (Augmented Reality) app store.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Tech can be used for good and for bad. Social media can be used for good and for bad. Social media is not evil, you just want to remember that those platforms want your eyeballs on them as much as possible. Money is not evil, it's people who can use money in ethical ways or unethical ways. The same applies to a knife. You can kill someone with it, or you can use it to cook a delicious dish. At the end of the day, these are all tools. It's up to us human beings to decide how we use these tools. Don't blame the tool, blame the human being. Of course, you can question in what way a tool should be improved which will prevent more people from using the tool in unethical ways. Take the internet for example. There is a level of anonymity and security to be felt when exploring the digital world. This can result in people projecting any dark sides they may have. So while tools are not perfect and can be misused, doesn't mean there are no existing benefits that can enhance our lives. We can understand and make use of the benefits while remaining vigilant about the dangers and cons. When you have the tech talk with your child for example, you want to discuss both the good and the bad. There is little point to just be negative about the digital world since it is part of our lives. Part of society. It doesn't occupy a smart part though, but a huge one. We are never going back to a world without the internet. One day, the internet will be older than any person alive. When that happens, the human race will undoubtedly be surrounded by AI, VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and the digital world. That's why it's good to introduce strategies now that enable us to preserve our mind and spirit. Understand the tool and let it magnify your good intentions. If not, the tool can use you and make your life much harder…

Jeff & Joe kick off the show and update everyone on what to expect this season. Jeff & Joe will be tag teaming the hosting duties this season but expect to hear some of the same content marketing superstars from season’s past and new interviews from all over the interwebs. From Augmented Reality Artists to Social Scientists, fasten your seatbelts for Season 3 of The Explicit Content Podcast. Jeff & Joe discuss the current state of marketing in the last quarter of 2019 and the place for both creativity and deep technological prowess. We’re excited about a new partnership with DivvyHQ this season. The DivvyHQ team has been friends of ours for a long time. https://divvyhq.com/They’ve been in the content game for a long time and have built a content planning and execution tool for content marketing teams BY a talented content marketing team.Let’s jump into the podcast. We aren’t sidestepping the congressional hearing, but it’s not what this episode is about. Today we’re talking about Facebook’s Oculus Connect 6 conference that was held in San Jose last month. https://www.oculusconnect.com/Why is this year any different than the last for Oculus? Last year we didn’t have the Oculus Quest, and that may be the hardware that changes everything. It’s time for marketers to pay attention and Jeff & Joe are going to explain why. https://www.oculus.com/quest/?locale=en_USJeff jumps into the history of VR, starting off in the 80’s & 90’s and gets to Oculus Rift and Facebook’s eventual purchase of the VR startup. https://www.forbes.com/sites/briansolomon/2014/03/25/facebook-buys-oculus-virtual-reality-gaming-startup-for-2-billion/#1cfc30f62498Though it wasn’t completely clear at first why a social network was interested in a VR headset that was both incredibly expensive, needed an expensive computer to run and needed a massive space and technology to even get the technology setup. VR had made leaps, but it was still just for the nerds. VR did take marketing by storm, but it’s been in event marketing. In 2019, there’s probably not a large sporting event or conference that hasn’t had some sort of VR experience. https://mbryonic.com/best-vr-marketing/Two years ago, Facebook releases its first wireless headset in the Oculus Go. It was underpowered and had very limited movement capabilities, but it did get rid of the need to jack into a large computer and the wires were gone. https://www.oculus.com/go/?locale=en_USThis year, Oculus released the Oculus Quest. It was somewhere in between. Not as powerful as the Rift, but much more capable than the Go, the Quest seemed to have hit the goldilocks zone of VR. Untethered with a much better experience the Oculus Quest came in at a $399 price point which put it in line with current gaming consoles from Sony, Nintendo & Microsoft. Facebook has been steadily focused on one goal, to create a VR technology that breaks through to mass adoption. Facebook is up to 180,000 unit sales and has reached the $100,000,000 mark on the Facebook marketplace. Just like Apple, Facebook plans to make a lot of its money through sales of games and apps on the storefront. Let’s take a step back and talk about the difference between AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality)Jeff dives into the differences and similarities of both technologies. Augmented reality is any technology that puts a layer of interaction or content over our current reality, while virtual reality takes you completely into another virtual space unattached to our own. https://venturebeat.com/2019/10/24/superdata-facebook-sold-180000-oculus-quests-in-q3-2019/https://techcrunch.com/2019/09/25/oculus-eclipses-100-million-in-vr-content-sales/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augmented_realityhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_realityIf you’re into AR at all, you should check out Joe’s interview with Luke Hurd, AR artist and friend of the show, who has been traveling around the world representing Facebook and SparkAR technology. We touch on why cloud computing is so important to the future of these technologies.Digging into the Oculus Connect 6 conference, let’s talk about the announcements.https://enterprisemarketer.com/podcasts/explicit-content/season-02-episode-05/https://www.instagram.com/lukehurd/?hl=enhttps://sparkar.facebook.com/ar-studio/Jeff’s excited about the announcement of the addition of technology that allows users to lose the hand controllers and interact in the virtual world just using your hands or items from the real world. Joe notices how Facebook keeps breaking down the barriers to using virtual reality technology. https://www.oculus.com/blog/oculus-connect-6-introducing-hand-tracking-on-oculus-quest-facebook-horizon-and-more/?locale=en_USMaybe the largest announcement was Facebook’s plan to finally peak into a socially connected virtual world. Oculus also announced a simple cord that can be purchased to “jack in” to a more powerful computer, giving the Quest the ability to play the more technologically heavy games of the Rift. https://www.pcmag.com/news/370972/facebooks-custom-oculus-link-cable-for-the-quest-will-costJoe sees the Oculus as one step closer to true human interaction from anywhere, bridging time and space. Facebook releases Horizon which puts the social into the virtual experience, giving you a virtual space to interact with others. Is this where The Oasis from Ready Player One begins?https://techcrunch.com/2019/09/25/facebook-horizon/Marketers beware, just because this is going to be a new world, doesn’t mean users will want you to paint the walls with virtual billboards. Marketers need to focus on experience and ask the question of how their product or brand adds value in this new world. Oculus For Business was announced at Connect 6, which launches many opportunities for businesses to come on board and get dedicated support to begin using the Quest for training for jobs from retail to therapy. Listen up marketers. It’s time to pay attention. We’re not saying to add a line item to your marketing budgets for virtual reality, but it’s time to pay attention and to learn. The earlier you can get involved, the more likely you’ll get advantage from those channels. https://business.oculus.com/Things are changing quickly, and things are complex, but get used to the shift and try to enjoy living in the future!A reminder that we’re doing a webinar w/ our friends at DivvyHQ in November talking about content planning and how modern marketers are simplifying the complex and keeping the marketing engines running. Lots in store this season for us at Explicit Content Podcast, stay tuned! https://divvyhq.com/Thank you for listening to the Explicit Content Podcast. Welcome to episode 50! Yes 50, of the Marketing Study Lab. And this is a mega special episode as I speak to, rather nervously I may add – Goldie Chan, as well as finding out the difference between AR and VR. Hopefully by now you’ve got the jist of what is going on here, but if you don’t, not to worry, you'll soon catch up. And what better way to start this catch-up than with my guest, Goldie Chan. Goldie has gone from a Biological Science degree to LinkedIn’s Top Voice for 2018 and a contributor to Forbes. Providing social media with purpose, Goldie is currently the strategic lead for Warm Robot, her social media agency, helping Fortune 500 C-level executives. But what caught my eye was the top-performing LinkedIn video series #DailyGoldie offering advice and guidance as well as sparking debate e very day for over 500 consecutive days and still going strong.   Takeaways - When considering the differences between a personal and an organizational brand, Goldie explained that a personal brand looks at the person, their life, who are they, what do they do and what aspects of daily life can be repeated to be an authentic brand that creates authority, which is similar to organisation branding in that they must be authentic and create authority to mean something. - If you are starting from zero, zilch, nothing then the best place to start is to find out where your target market is and contribute there. Start to be part of the conversation, before even considering becoming a thought leader in that space.  - When building an online presence take it one step at a time and one platform at a time. Start with one, master that one, go in-depth, then move on to other places. - And a special bonus pro tip here – When videoing, pretend the camera is your friend. You will come across as more authentic and real, increasing your engagement.   AR and VR So what do these acronyms mean? AR – Augmented Reality is defined as an interactive experience of a real-world environment "augmented" by computer-generated information. VR – Virtual Reality is defined as an interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment.  The main difference between the two is that one VR is built within an environment that is completely computer-generated, whereas AR relies on both computer generated information as well as the real world in a combination of the two. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but it is the incorporation of AR into our everyday lives that is the most exciting, opening the possibilities for digital enhancements to our daily activities to make them more efficient, productive and overall reduce friction that can occur when technology is not utilised to our advantage. Facebook och botar som säljkanal för B2B – Alexander Morad

Säljpodden

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 28, 2018 52:56

Co-hosts Andrew James (@OneWhoSeesDimly) and Eric D. (@HopSnobbery) are joined by Mel Allen (@TheRealVoiceMel) to launch Episode 006 of Riff On, talking electronics and namely computers, video games and technology because at this point, all of the hosts have been around computers and technology for 30+ years, including Coleco Vision, the Atari 2600, Merlin and Simon. Recollecting Ames, Service Merchandise and Star Trek technology, Mel was introduced to computers in 1984, Andrew, in 1981 and Eric D. around 1984 with an IBM PC Jr. TRS-80 and CAT computers are discussed in early technology. First video game systems are discussed, including Atari, Nintendo and Sega Genesis. Mel still has a Genesis and Eric D. misses the simplicity of the single button and two-button controls like Atari and Nintendo, even though he has a Playstation 3. Retro gaming lives on at The Archives in Burlington, Vermont, which is home to an incredible craft beer list, with 80s upright arcade games. Aladdin's Castle in the University Mall, Dream Machine in the Square Mall, Skateland in Williston, and the Milton laundromat all had upright video game machines that the hosts played at. Eric D. recollects the Nintendo Track & Field trick with the pen cap, as well as playing Atari 8-bit baseball, Sega 94 Hockey and the retirement of Jaromir Jagr and having recently visting a Game Stop to buy a used wrestling video game. But now, it's all about Egames and Egaming and the use of Twitch to live stream video games. Mortal Kombat, Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road and Missile Command video games are all dwelled upon, as welel as Andrew James talking about coding when he first got into gaming. Zork and Leisure Suit Larry were old school computer games and "Deep Fake" would be the modern-age version of cutting-edge technology and electronics. The gang discusses Dragon's Lair to Call of Duty in regards to graphics capabilities and how we're moving into AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) including Pokemon Go. Andrew James has his Wii and plays bowling with his girls, which Eric D. never had. How great would a Wii be with Nintendo games? Interactive gaming is all the rage at the local bowling alley (Spare Time) including a large scale Connect Four and a 'beer pong' type game. Interactive gaming also includes Guitar Hero and DJ Hero. The rabbit hole moves through hip-hop music, including A Tribe Called Quest, Eminem, Run DMC, N.W.A., Drake, Migos and Kanye West. However, when it all comes said and done, this is all part of modern day electronics. Be sure to check out Mel Allen at @TheRealVoiceMel on Twitter and Instagram and at www.therealvoice.com online. Nej! Guest speaker: Bruce Damer PROGRAM NOTES: [NOTE: All quotations are by Bruce Damer.] “I would say it's no more than 500 people in the United States who cause a vast amount of the grief.” “A crescendo involves everyone. The singularity seems to be this nerd idea of reaching some kind of Omega Point. It's very much the Christian idea of the second coming. It's apocalyptic, etc., a bit of a downer because everything comes to an end, but it's incredibly unlikely.” “The crescendo will throw off all the old religions. It will throw off the conspiracy theories. It will throw off crusty old corporate jobs. And replace them with self-sufficiency, direct communication with nature, with other human beings, with media, and the creation of opinions directly. “So if you think of the computing, it's not really computing, but the computing nature is doing all the time, it outstrips all our largest supercomputing grids.” “So if we can't do even one neuron [computer simulation] how are we going to upload consciousness exactly?” “You're here not because something put you here and fabricated you and guided the evolution and created the whole planet. It's an emergent phenomenon and so are you. And you are an ongoing story, and the story is written in your genes, but it is also written in your mind. And you have responsibility for this amazing emergent phenomenon.” “You don't need religion for miracles. The fact that you exist in all this existence is stacked upon miracles, turtles all the way down. So if we grok that, we don't need religious stories any more.” “The virtual worlds and avatar spaces and multi-player games of now are the Keystone Cops of what virtual worlds will be in twenty or thirty years through AR [Augmented Reality], and big home holodecks, and stuff like that.” Download MP3 PCs – Right click, select option Macs – Ctrl-Click, select option
