The video, originally from the MTV Movie Awards, was recently reshared by an account called "The Gworls Are Fighting," reigniting controversy surrounding Combs amid existing allegations against him. The video shows Combs, who was 33 at the time, asking young actress Daveigh Chase if she was “coming to the afterparty tonight” while standing on stage at the awards show. Also seen in the clip is actor Ashton Kutcher, 25 at the time, who smiles and laughs backstage with Fonzworth Bentley. Chase, who had just won the award for Best Villain for her role in *The Ring*, appears nervous as Kutcher reassures her, saying, “You're doing great,” and Combs adds, “Take your time.” The seemingly innocent interaction has sparked outrage on social media, where users questioned Combs' intentions and expressed concern for Chase's well-being at the time. One commenter remarked, “Diddy was so serious about asking that lil girl to come to his party, look at how Ashton is looking at her—so sick!!!” Another user expressed frustration with the situation, writing, “Where are her parents? Lock them all up!! Like now!!! Where is this little girl, I pray that she is okay.” Some have gone further, accusing Combs of sexual misconduct based on the interaction. “This is sick, and anyone that tries to defend him is as sick as he is. Celebrities have defiled so many young children,” another commenter claimed. Many users called for a boycott of Combs' music and other works, with one person adding, “We need to stop listening, stop buying their music, and stop watching their movies. They won't get anywhere if we don't empower them.” Amid the growing backlash, a spokesperson for Sean Combs issued a statement, denying any inappropriate behavior in the clip. “It's disappointing to see the media and social media commentators twist moments into something they were not,” the representative said, defending the artist against the accusations. Daveigh Chase, the actress at the center of the controversy, has not commented on the resurfaced video or the allegations against Combs. She has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years, with her last known activity on social media dating back to 2017. That same year, Chase was reportedly arrested for riding in a stolen car, according to the *Daily Mail*. While the resurfaced video has reignited public debate over Combs' past actions, his team maintains that the moment is being unfairly mischaracterized, adding another layer to the ongoing conversation surrounding the music industry and celebrity culture. Kenny and Ben are back with takes so fresh it's almost like this episode was recorded two days before it released. Best Villain 2003 went to Daveigh Chase's memorable turn in The Ring, but was she really better than the villains of Spider-Man, Gangs of New York, Daredevil, and Austin Powers in Goldmember?! Kenny and Ben get into it while also getting into if movies should account for the fact that they might be watched at 2x speed, the career of Superhero Movie director Craig Mazin, the only other Daniel Day-Lewis movie Ben has seen, a plea for an upbeat take on Daredevil, Seth Green's NFT woes, and more! Plus a preview of some of the 2022 Best Villain and Best Kiss nominees and a very good impression of everyone's favourite Spider-Man character Bonesaw!
Many movies made outside Hollywood are among the best of any given year, but the Brazilian-made City Of God remains a revered classic of this entire century. That's how several critics groups and Best Of lists feel about it, at least. It's not so simple for us. The slightly dated filmmaking techniques are a little much (especially the frenzied editing) and it's A LOT much to have to look at 2 hours of children toting around guns, guns, guns. So much killing. That doesn't mean we can't admire the visuals and the soundscape in Fernando Meirelles' opus about kids & teenagers running wild in the favelas in Rio. So try putting aside your handgun and instead putting a camera in your hands as you hear the 426th Ellises' Analysis rocket through Cidade De Deus. Well, Actually: The girl in The Ring is Daveigh Chase. Also, Kill Bill V1 was released in 2003, not Kill Bill V2. Also also, “Children Of Men TV series” at the 32:40 mark should of course have been the “City Of Men TV series”. If you're keeping crazy hours living the hard life in Brazil (or anywhere), Sparkplug Coffee is the ideal choice to keep you going. Okay, Brazilians can't get it, but Canadians and Americans certainly can. Sparkplug will provide you a 20% discount on your next order and you just have to use our promo code (“top100project”) to save that money. Donnie Darko | Jake Gyllenhaal | Maggie Gyllenhaal | Drew Barrymore | Patrick Swayze | [2001] Join us as we digest the 2001 cult classic filled with many breakout talent Donnie Darko as a part of our Halloween Month Special. Donnie Darko is a 2001 American science fiction psychological thriller film written and directed by Richard Kelly and produced by Flower Films. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Drew Barrymore, Mary McDonnell, Katharine Ross, Patrick Swayze, Noah Wyle, Stu Stone, Daveigh Chase, and James Duval. Donnie Darko is set in October 1988 and it follows Donnie Darko, a troubled teenager who narrowly escapes a bizarre accident and has visions of Frank, a mysterious figure in a rabbit costume who informs him that the world will end in just over 28 days. Frank begins to manipulate Donnie to commit several crimes. Development began in late 1997 when Kelly had graduated from film school and started writing scripts. He took an early idea of a jet engine falling onto a house with no one knowing its origin and built the story around it. Kelly insisted on directing the film in person and struggled to secure backing from producers until 2000, when Barrymore's Flower Films agreed to produce it on a $4.5 million budget. Filming took 28 days in the summer of 2000, mostly in California. The soundtrack features a cover of "Mad World" by Tears for Fears by American musicians Gary Jules and Michael Andrews, which went to No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks. Donnie Darko premiered on January 19, 2001 at the Sundance Film Festival, followed by a limited theatrical release on October 26. Due to the film's advertising featuring a crashing plane and the September 11 attacks that have transpired a month and a half before, it was scarcely advertised, which affected its box office performance; it grossed just $517,375 in its initial run. Despite this, Donnie Darko received positive reviews and was listed No. 2 in Empire's "50 Greatest Independent Films of All Time" and No. 53 in Empire's "500 Greatest Movies of All Time". After reissues, it went on to gross $7.5 million worldwide. In March 2002, the film was released on home video, earning $500,000 in sales and gained a cult following. #DonnieDarko #JakeGyllenhaal #JenaMalone #MaggieGyllenhaal #DrewBarrymore #MaryMcDonnell #KatharineRoss #PatrickSwayze #NoahWyle #StuStone #DaveighChase #JamesDuval #RichardKelly #SeanMcKittrick #NancyJuvonen #AdamFields #StevenPoster #SamBauer #EricStrand #MichaelAndrews #FlowerFilms #PandoraCinema #NewmarketFilms #CultClassic #MovieByte #MovieBytePodcast #JustChillinEntertainment --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/moviebytepod... Jackie and Danielle are excited to surf right into their first Disney animated flick with the 2002 movie Lilo & Stitch. Just in time for Stitch Day on June 26th, these BFFs dig deep into one of Jackie's Y2K favorites. Lilo & Stitch is a story of sisterhood, friendship, and what it means to define your own family. The movie follows a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted alien experiment 626 AKA Stitch. Lilo is a lonely six-year-old Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed onto earth. With his creator close behind to capture him, Stitch must go undercover and live with Lilo and her sister Nani. What he doesn't know yet is that he's on a crash course with finding his very own family. The movie features the voice talents of Tia Carrere, Ving Rhames, Kevin McDonald, Daveigh Chase, and Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch and the film's director. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nomorelatefees/support

Ohana means family, and family means we couldn't leave these movies behind. Important questions: How old is Lilo? Why does Hamsterviel exist? Doesn't the Grand Counselwoman have more important shit to do? Keep and ear out for Andy and Tony NOT talking about the Stitch! TV show, because it's frankly too much for them to handle. Movie Meltdown - Episode 447 This week we're coming to you "live" from Harry Dean Stanton Fest as we sit down with Drago Sumonja the co-writer of Harry Dean's last film (Lucky) as well as director of the documentary Char·ac·ter. So listen as we discuss his time spent with Harry Dean as well as the artistic collaboration and friendship he has built over the years with actor Dabney Coleman. And while we realize that the whole world eventually comes together at Dan Tana's, we also bring up… Private Benjamin, he made his own weapon, we’d just kind of play the parts really, Daveigh Chase, Cloak and Dagger, they mounted this giant antenna-looking thing onto your house, it’s own weird special little world, Unwigged and Unplugged, something about him showing up in a dress one day, it turned out to be what I wanted to be, Ron Livingston, docudrama, Facebook and their darn algorithms, David Lynch, by necessity, crossing from PG to PG-13, and I would just start typing, racy movies in conservative households, Sydney Pollack, Showgirls, and so we just try to figure out how to make that kind of interesting in a script, Top Secret, The Missouri Breaks, a dirty martini all over my pants, S. Darko, sequels to movies many years later, a rainy day assembly, Logan Sparks, Muhlenberg County, going off on these magical monologues, it’s like a master class, Mark Rydell, Repo Man and TV edits for R-rated movies. “...the documentary and your podcast - is only as good as your subject.” For more on Harry Dean Stanton Fest go to: https://www.harrydeanstantonfest.org/
Were you afraid you wouldn't have RAISED STAKES today!? Were you afraid of using a part of your seat other than the edge!? Were you afraid of not watching a beloved Disney character DIE!? Important questions: Is creating a new life form unethical? What are you without a past or something to destroy? How many men has Cobra Bubbles killed? Keep an ear out for Tony feeling emotionally manipulated while Andy has a dramatic death scene. Our outro music is Theme from Penguins on Parade by Lee Rosevere. Find us on the Internet! What do Summer Glau, Karl Malone, Lynda Carter, Banana Yoshimoto and our co-host Ian all have in common? They were all born on July 24th! In this week's episode, we celebrate Ian's birthday by listening to Christmas covers by The A-Teens (member Dhani Lennevald was born July 24, 1984) and actress Daveigh Chase (born July 24, 1990). Also mentioned in this episode: Jingle Bell Rocks, the documentary about Christmas music and it devotees, which we liked a lot! See the trailer here: http://jinglebellrocks.vhx.tv/
Well, it only took us 3 movies to find one that was an absolute stinker. S. Darko is the sequel to the much better 2001 movie, Donnie Darko, and follows Donnie’s younger sister Samantha. Aside from one producer and the titular lead Daveigh Chase, no one who worked on the first movie worked on this […]
