In this episode I invited Heidi Tucker, an award winning author and motivational speaker, to bravely share her own growth work around her chronic illness struggle with vertigo. Heidi humbly and vulnerably allows me to guide her through concepts of how life gives us opportunities for our personal evolution through what we call "soul lessons." In this episode Heidi shares with us smack in the middle of her own personal evolution and grappling to move forward with the same courage and strength that she has made such a study in her speaking and writing career. Heidi's stories focus on the descending and ascending process of inspiring others whom she interviews and gives a voice, however in this interview Heidi shares her own battle with chronic illness, trauma, and how she is learning to rise and apply all she teaches to her own current struggle. Heidi shares how time in nature, learning to be present, and surrendering "the list" have been key lessons in stepping into greater balance. Heidi acknowledges how her best intentions allowed her to miss signs she needed to balance self-care with service and moving forward she hopes to apply her "soul lessons" in balance and continue to expand in her capacity to fulfill her soul's purpose. I personally was humbled by her willingness to try this unique podcast style of doing "the work" while recording for all to learn through the experience of this wise soul. This is such a classic example of who Heidi is, someone who desires to use all of her talents, gifts, and even struggles to lift others. You won't want to miss this one!

For several months I have been gathering up the courage to talk to you about a very personal topic, Human Sexuality. Why would a therapist struggle to talk about something that is such a big part of all our lives? I explore my own indoctrination around sexuality and how owning my divine sexuality has been perhaps the most important and most difficult part of my healing journey. In this episode, I candidly share my experience with doing a personal inventory of beliefs, systems, and perspectives that I recognized needed to go and how I replaced them with those that allowed for greater healing. I speak of my journey from child to woman in sexuality and how I learned to be responsible for how I show up in my relationships, with my own body, and co-create my sexual experience. In this podcast, I will explore the first steps in healing wounded sexuality and invite you to step more fully into concepts of oneness and harmony with both your divine self and your partner. This one is raw and real!

“Marriage shouldn’t be this hard.” “Now that we are family, we should be getting along but we aren’t.” “We are in this for the long haul, but I don’t know if the long haul is worth the struggles we are encountering.” Approximately 67 percent of what couples argue about never goes away. And the baggage they carry into the marriage never seems to lighten. A happy and healthy marriage can exist … but it takes some effort. Just because you checked the “married” box doesn’t mean the honeymoon phase will last forever effortlessly. Marriage and family are an active living process that continues for a lifetime. Jessica Topor, marriage and family therapist with The Center for Relationship and Sexual Health, shares insights about this form of psychotherapy that looks at the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect each person in the family as well as their relationships with each other and the family unit as a whole. Relationships will grow and change. If you have a common goal and stay focused on it, commitment - along with hard work - are the skills needed for building lifelong relationships.
