Uncomfortable Conversations Podcast The Untold Stories of the 3HO Kundalini Yoga Community
Ravi Singh began practicing Kundalini Yoga in 1973 and lived in the 3HO ashram in Chicago, IL. In 1974 he moved to New York City to be a writer and continued to practice Kundalini Yoga and began teaching. In the late 70's I had a brief stint as a resident of the 3HO ashram in Brooklyn, NY. He attended every Summer and Winter Solstice gathering from 1976 to 2000 and before 1999 would typically teach Kundalini Yoga at those events. In 1999 he discovered that YB had propositioned one of my students at Women's Camp. That was when the floodgates opened and the scope of what was going on behind the scenes became abundantly clear. When he attempted to alert people he was summarily kicked out of 3HO. His state of mind since then has been one of personal liberation, i.e., relief that he doesn't have to continue to try to be someone he's not. It became more obvious over time that there's no room in an organization like 3HO for artists, autonomous beings, or independent thinkers. Ravi Singh is Author (with partner Ana Brett) of the Kundalini Yoga Book - Life in the Vast Lane. He's been teaching yoga for 45 yrs. He is Founder of Evolving Kundalini, which was created via the need for a safe space for Kundalini Yoga Teachers to gather and process. EK is now a non-profit dedicated to ethics in yoga, and the forward evolution and the up-leveling of all things Kundalini. Dairy owners are vying for a place on a scaled-back list of retailers who will hold on to their smoked tobacco licence by the year's end. Only one in 10 shops who currently sell cigarettes will still be able to by next July - a cutback from 6000 dairies to 600. It's part of the bid to make New Zealand smokefree by 2025, but despite that goal being embarked upon as far back as 2011, some shop owners feel 'sprung upon', due to the late rush of policy change. It is a double edged sword. In some cases cigarette sales revenue accounts for up to half of a dairy's revenue stream - and a spot on the list is a lifeline. But with 230 ram raids in the first four months of this year, security concerns are rife for those who will continue being able to sell cigarettes, causing some, like Pukekohe's Lochview Dairy owner Ravi Singh, to opt out - despite the crushing financial losses. Dairy and Business Owners Group chair Sunny Kaushal is leading a group of concerned owners to Parliament tomorrow, urging for more clarity over the reduced list, which is set to be decided by November.

“Prologue. Malik. May 1969. Jaipur. It's opening night of the Royal Jewel Cinema, which shines as brilliantly as a gemstone. Inside the theater: every one of the eleven hundred mohair seats is occupied. Still more people stand, lining the walls of the theater for the premiere. Before we make it through the doors, we hear a yawning creak, then a complaining groan, and then suddenly the roar of a thousand pounds of cement, brick, rebar and drywall crashing down.”

A Pukekohe business has spent thousands on their own crime-prevention measures, after being robbed twice in three weeks. Just five stores have seen the installation of security, like fog cannons and bollards, since the Retail Crime Prevention Scheme launched in May. Another five are waiting to be done, and 40 more have been assessed. Liquor store and dairy owner Ravi Singh told Mike Hosking increasing crime has led him to installing steel bars and automatic gates on his premises. “For those things to protect my family and my staff I have given up the best of $11,000 just to secure my place.” LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A new Covid vaccine – which targets both the original virus and one of the latest Omicron variants – has been approved for use in the UK. About half of the 26 million older and vulnerable adults in the UK who are due a booster this autumn should get the new vaccine. There's news of British scientists changing the blood group of donated kidneys – which could boost the supply of organs for transplant. Professor Magdi Yaqoob says switching to blood type O means the organs can be transplanted into any patient. We hear from Ravi Singh whose life was transformed last month when he got a new kidney from a live donor. He wants everyone to discuss donating with their family and to carry a donor card. The pandemic delayed hospital treatment for many – so to help deal with waiting lists some hospitals are trying out 'overlapping' surgery – with one senior surgeon supervising two operating theatres, and more junior surgeons carrying out the more straightforward parts. When it was tried in the US there were concerns around consent and safety but we hear how only doing 30 minute procedures means that a month's worth of operations can be done in a day. Ravi Singh is no stranger to relief efforts. His organization, Khalsa Aid, led humanitarian support to the embattled Yezidi in 2015, to Rohingya refugees in 2017, and to tsunami-stricken Indonesia in 2018. What he did not expect was that his NGO’s skills would be needed across India in the wake of COVID-19. “We went from serving food in a war zone to procuring oxygen concentrators in a dysfunctional democracy.

1103 Election Day Items Important And Dr Ravi Singh Expert On Censorship Twitterism Social Media by Kate Dalley
Dr. Ravneet (Ravi) Singh was born in the United States of America. He wears a turban as a requirement of the Sikh religion from northern India. His parents immigrated to the United States to pursue the American dream. Ravi grew up in the cornfields of Illinois in the village of Prestbury. His favorite hero is Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican (GOP) President. He adopted at an early age the Lincoln notion of “perseverance.” At the age of 11, he met the first Sikh President of India and fell in love with politics. His grandfather encouraged him to pursue a career in politics, while his father insisted on medicine. Ravi Singh was the first Sikh (with uncut hair and turban) to attend and eventually graduate from a USA Military Academy in American history. Due to the uniqueness of his case and harsh military rules, legislation was introduced on his behalf to allow him to graduate with full USA military honors and turban. It was enacted under President Ronald Regan’s administration. He then attended Valparaiso University, where he followed his passion and became Student Body President, Captain of NCAA Division 1 Golf Team, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med and Political Science. He then enrolled at Northwestern University and pursued a Master of Arts in American Political Science. Ravi Singh served as a public servant in Illinois State Government under Governor Jim Edgar's administration working for Lt. Governor Bob Kustra and State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, who he refers to as his "politic mother." During his time there, he learned the art of politics and campaigning, which inspired him to run for Illinois 42nd State Representative open seat, at the age of 25. He lost the campaign but won the Kane County nomination for the Republican Party. During his campaign, he started a website through which ElectionMall.com was born which was profiled in Business Week Magazine and USA Today naming Ravi Singh as the "CampaignGuru." ElectionMall Technologies Inc. main purpose was to help promote e-democracy and enable candidates regardless of party affiliation, gender, or religious affiliation to have access to the same data and tools as incumbents, something Ravi Singh was convicted of when he ran as a politician. As CEO of ElectionMall.com, Ravi Singh became a Washington DC politician and maverick. He worked extremely hard to enable campaigns from school board to president level to take advantage of technology in the early days of the “Digital Era.” In 2010, the company co-branded with Microsoft Inc. and received an infusion of investment and marketing dollars that launched for worldwide operations. Ravi Singh opened offices all over the world including, Ukraine, Malaysia, Mexico, Colombia, Brussels, and India, working on campaigns like Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), Enda Kenny (Ireland), Jose Sera (Brazil) and Anwar Ibrahim (Malaysia). The company helped over 9 world leaders and various heads of state with their "digital campaign war rooms." “Campaign Guru” was committed to over 7000+ political websites helping them raise money, generate votes, and increase their digital awareness during his 14 years as CEO creating a multi-million-dollar internet company at the time. In 2014, the company faced charges of elections fraud for two campaigns in San Diego, California. The company was forced to shut down operations in 2016 because of litigation cost, and CEO Ravi Singh was personally charged with several felonies, which he later appealed to the US Appellate courts and then US Supreme Court. In 2017, Ravi Singh pursued a Master of Science in Social Media Management from Liberty University, a Harvard Certificate in Digital Strategy, the digital marketing program from Duke University, and MIT Sloan Business School Executive ACE program; at the same time finishing his doctoral (PhD.) in Social Media and Technology from the University of the Rockies in Denver Colorado, now Ashford University. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/john-aidan-byrne0/support

Perhaps, using a white board (with the name of the mantra spelled out in Sanskrit as well as its meaning) would be helpful (when I first began my practice as a student, I found it incredibly beneficial); the former helps with pronunciation and both the former and the latter supports the student to more deeply engage in the present moment/practice rather than them wondering what they're saying and whether they're saying it "right". ** Another helpful tip for positive affirmations: Meet yourself where you're at. For instance, if you are not feeling as though you are "worthy" of God's love, perhaps breaking the affirmation into something more palatable (i.e., that you actually believe) and then slowly scaffolding yourself to deeper levels of love/worthiness may be a worthwhile approach, so as to experience less resistance in the learning/practicing process. Hope this helps! *** Another important point: For me, reviewing secondary sources for accurate/Truthful information feels to lack integrity. I realize it can feel time consuming and energy draining to locate reliable, primary sources on your own; I, myself, am still looking up the debunking reviews and am attempting to discern what is "Truth". All that is to say: NO judgment! Personally, until I can figure it out for myself, I do not feel comfortable taking a "side" as to what is "Truth" as I do not want my ego to drive my interpretation.

Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience full of conspiratorial whisperers who know there are cameras and microphones recording their every move… in the NEW new media capital of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! Her Nightly Embrace by Adi Tantimedh. Order your copy today by clicking on the book cover above! (EDITOR'S NOTE -- This is a very special interview. It is the 1,300th overall post on Mr. Media and, coincidentally, it marks the site's 10th anniversary, February, 2017. Neither my guest nor I realized when this conversation was recorded that it would fall on such a significant occasion. Thank you to novelist Adi Tantimedh and thank you to the more than 4.5 million people who have visited, read, listened and watched Mr. Media over the past decade! -- Bob Andelman) I have to admit I was a bit skeptical of the detective novel Her Nightly Embrace when I read that the lead character, Ravi Singh, sees visions of Hindu gods wherever he goes. What? Oh, and I subtracted points for the back cover quote and endorsement from Deepak Chopra, of all people. ADI TANTIMEDH podcast excerpt: "Ravi used to be a religious scholar, which means he would be extremely well-read. And he's Hindu. If he's worried about karma, his life, the more deeply he gets into this world, how corrupt and evil it can get, I thought, 'What if he sees gods?' He would start to assume that he's going insane!" Fine man, that Deepak Chopra, but not exactly the guy I look for to offer recommendations of books about the adventures of a private detective. Michael Connolly, yes. Vikram Seth, yes. Deepak Chopra? Eh, not so much. But dammit, Deepak was right when he wrote that “Ravi is a character unlike any that readers have quite encountered before.” Her Nightly Embrace is a series of wack-a-doodle adventures introducing Ravi and the crew of screwups at the Golden Sentinels agency in London. Ravi, like the best PIs in 20th century detective literature, gets plenty of tail, by the way, but always at a steep price. And his family is a hoot and a half. La Muse by by Adi Tantimedh and Hugo Petrus. Order your copy today by clicking on the book cover above! Still not sure about the Hindu Gods, however, unless they are supposed to be the book’s version of a Greek chorus, offering commentary from the margins. I think the stories would soar just as high without them. ADI TANTIMEDH podcast excerpt: "I wondered if we could get a quote from Alan Moore since he was my writing teacher and I still talk with him weekly. But Deepak Chopra? I did some work on a video game that had Deepak Chopra's name on it, but I never met him. I'm surprised and perplexed (by his endorsement of 'Her Nightly Embrace')." Key interview moments: • 3:15 Novelist Adi Tantimedh can't explain why Deepak Chopra endorsed his first 'Ravi PI' novel, 'Her Nightly Embrace,' but he didn't turn him away, either; • 17:30 Tantimedh's anti-hero, Ravi, has issues every where in his life, including dealing with the local Asian housewife gangster who is shaking down his mother; • 31:15 An explanation--that makes sense--for why Ravi PH sees Hindu gods wherever he goes.
