Skat's gone. What're they going to do without Skat? ASU will take a step back without Skat. The national narrative is out there, and the pundits have been doubling down on it all offseason long. We get it. What Cam Skattebo did in Tempe will never be forgotten. But what those around the nation may not realize is that the backfield cupboard is anything but bare. Kyson Brown was the Sun Devils' second back last year, and flashed his vast potential, highlighted by a 100-yard game against Arizona. This spring, the rising junior made a strong case to be the lead back for ASU, showing good power to go with his track speed. He leads a deep backfield that looks to keep the Devils' offense in high gear in 2025. On this episode, we discuss his growth heading into Year 3, the depth of the backfield, Shaun Aguano's influence, the meaning of his new number, and more.

Welcome to Season 5, Episode 26! With the fall of Saigon happening about 50 years ago, it's important to recognize related additional moments in the history of Asians and Asian Americans. We're talking about the Secret War in Laos which was closely tied to the Vietnam War. This will be Part 1 of 2 on the topic. Laos is in Southeast Asia, a key region that the U.S. worried about during the Cold War. The Secret War in Laos was led by the CIA and fought predominantly by the Hmong, an ethnic minority in the country, and it's a major reason so many Hmong and Laotian people became refugees after the Fall of Saigon and retreat of U.S. forces. So in this episode, we dig into the geopolitical situation that was present in Southeast Asia, the U.S. role in battling the spread of communism there, the key local soldiers recruited by the CIA, and the amount of damage the U.S. did to the area.  We begin the episode by catching up on current events, including celebrating newly elected mayor of San Antonio Gina Ortiz Jones as well as all the Tony winners of Asian Pacific descent. We also give our thoughts on the push for Asian American History in Arizona. We end the episode with the recurring segment What are We Watching? In this installment, we talk about the streaming show Deli Boys and the feature film Sinners.  If you like what we do, please share, follow, and like us in your podcast directory of choice or on Instagram @AAHistory101. (00:01) Powerful Golf Swing Techniques for Distance This chapter explores the importance of power in golf, emphasizing how crucial it is to utilize the ground effectively for better performance. Broadcasting from Talking Rock Ranch in Prescott, Arizona, we discuss the mechanics of power in the golf swing, explaining that it all starts from the ground up. By pushing against an immovable object like the ground, energy is generated and transferred through the body to the arms, enhancing the swing's speed and effectiveness. We highlight the common misconception that power is solely about body rotation, when in reality, timing the push against the ground is key. Through power schools and practical demonstrations, we explain how to harness this energy properly, ensuring that it is released at the right moment in the swing for maximum impact. (12:25) Swing Sequencing Tools for Golf This chapter focuses on the importance of proper sequencing in a golf swing and how it impacts energy transfer from the lower body through to the club. We explore the common issue of being out of sequence, where the arms move ahead of the torso, leading to inefficient swings. A simple solution proposed is using a rope to practice, as it naturally enforces correct sequencing since you cannot push on it. This technique helps maintain the correct order of movement: lower body, torso, arms, and then the club. Additionally, I introduce a homemade training aid using a PVC pipe inside a swim noodle to provide comfort while practicing chest rotations. This tool helps protect the arms and chest, ensuring a comfortable and effective practice session. (23:51) Improving Golf Ball Striking Technique This chapter explores the relationship between club head speed and effective ball striking in golf. While increasing club head speed is often emphasized for achieving greater distance, it is crucial to maintain contact with the center of the club face to optimize ball speed and overall performance. The importance of ball speed, spin, and launch angle in achieving longer shots is highlighted, and the potential pitfalls of focusing solely on club head speed are discussed. Additionally, the benefits of practicing with specialized equipment, such as the Tour Striker club, are examined. This unique club design encourages proper striking technique by requiring the golfer to drive the club downward and forward, thereby enhancing ball striking ability and maximizing smash factor. (27:04) Improving Distance With Proper Swing Integration This chapter explores the nuances of improving your golf game with specialized equipment and techniques. I discuss the benefits of using the Tour Striker club, which requires precise ball striking due to its design that forces players to de-loft the club for optimal launch angles and distance. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of hitting the center of the clubface to enhance distance and control, regardless of whether you're using the latest technology or a five-year-old driver. We also talk about using training aids with smaller club heads to improve accuracy and consistency. Furthermore, we cover tips on proper tee height and swing mechanics to achieve the desired launch angle and reduce spin. Finally, there's a humorous look at the use of martini tees and the common mistake of setting them too low, which can impact performance. (42:29) Putting Technique Improvement Through Visualization This chapter explores the importance of clarity and specificity in putting techniques, emphasizing the use of training tools like a putting rail to ensure the shaft and head of the putter move straight back and through. We discuss how the putter head will naturally arc, and it's crucial to focus on the straight movement of the hands and arms. I also share a personal anecdote about improving my pitching skills with Jeff's guidance, which has positively impacted my overall game. Notably, I overcame challenges with my five iron, successfully executing a beautiful 168-yard shot onto the green, highlighting the interconnectedness of honing different golf skills.

HOLLYWOOD - Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom author Joel C. Scoberg is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with eleven other writers and eleven artists at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 10th. His story, "The Stench of Freedom," is published along with the other writers' and illustrators' stories and art in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which was officially released on April 22nd 2025. Joel C. Scoberg lives on the beautiful Gower Peninsula in Wales, United Kingdom, with his very supportive wife, two somewhat feral children, and a growing menagerie of animals. He predominantly writes science fiction and fantasy stories, usually at night after his children have gone to bed and before he collapses from exhaustion. His stories have appeared in Daily Science Fiction, Gwyllion Science Fiction and Fantasy, 365tomorrows, and Every Day Fiction. Joel's love of science fiction and fantasy goes back further than his earliest memories. From watching The Never Ending Story so many times he wore out the video, to his family's Christmas tradition of watching the original Star Wars trilogy back-to-back, and discovering The Hobbit on a caravan holiday as a teenager and reading it, utterly mesmerised, in one sitting. He hopes to one day write a story that will equally enthrall a reader and make them fall in love with fantastical characters that, currently, only exist in his head. “The Stench of Freedom” was inspired by the transformational perspective that becoming a parent brings. Joel had long dreamt of becoming a writer, but pursuing a career in law and the long hours that entailed, as well as the fear of ridicule for putting something so personal as your own creation into the world, acted as excuses not to follow those dreams. Then, when his children were born, he realised he could hardly tell them to pursue their dreams if he hadn't done so himself. The Contest, one of the most prestigious writing and illustrating competitions in the world, is currently in its 42nd year and is judged by some of the premier names in speculative fiction. The Writers of the Future Contest judges include, Tim Powers (author of On Stranger Tides), Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert (Dune prequel series), Robert J. Sawyer (The Oppenheimer Alternative), Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn series, The Stormlight Archive), Larry Niven (Ringworld), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game), Nnedi Okorafor (Who Fears Death), Hugh Howey (Wool), and Katherine Kurtz (Deryni series) to name a few. HOLLYWOOD - Mesa, Arizona author Ian Keith is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and was honored along with eleven other writers and eleven artists at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California on April 10th. His story, "Blackbird Stone," is published along with the other writers' and illustrators' stories and art in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 41 which will be officially released on April 22nd 2025. Ian Keith went to philosophy school to learn how to tell the truth, and to law school to learn how to tailor a story to suit any set of appearances. Both trainings have helped him to write fiction, about equally. He lives with his partner and their two children in the Phoenix area, where he works as a ghostwriter. “Blackbird Stone” is his first professional publication. “Blackbird Stone” started as an itch to write about the pigeons, lizards, and rocks that populate suburban backyards in the Southwest. It grew into a love story and a tribute to quirky families when a bachelorette with an addiction to time elbowed her way in at the conceptual stage. The pigeons became blackbirds, the lizards became telepathic, and the stones became eggs to accommodate her.

Commentary highlights years of CDC denial, FDA adverse event data, and the continued presence of mercury in vaccines for pregnant women and children. Medical Coercion and Propaganda in Vaccine Push (01:13:33 – 01:21:06) Multiple personal testimonies describe coercion by doctors to accept RSV shots, vaccine mandates in military and pediatric settings, and the financial incentives influencing provider behavior. RFK Jr. Promotes Biometric Wearables Nationwide (01:31:31 – 01:37:33) RFK Jr. announces a federal push to have every American using biometric wearables within four years as part of his Make America Healthy Again agenda, drawing sharp criticism over privacy, surveillance, and transhumanist implications. RF Radiation Health Risks from Wearables (01:43:05 – 01:45:22) Children's Health Defense warns that wearables emit harmful radiofrequency radiation linked to cancer, reproductive harm, and neurological damage, especially for children and long-term users. Arizona Pastor Crucified in Ritual Killing Spree (01:52:50 – 01:58:34) A man confesses to murdering a pastor in Arizona as part of a planned 14-victim anti-Christian crusade. Details include religious motives, ritual symbolism, and plans to kill across multiple states. Nuclear Weapons, Insurgency, and Firsthand Combat Experience (02:03:27 – 02:04:48) Jack Lawson recounts his background disarming nuclear bombs, fighting communist insurgents in Africa, and serving on a major U.S. police review board to frame the realism behind his civil defense advice. Water System Fragility and Collapse Preparedness (02:06:08 – 02:14:35) Details how municipal water systems depend on fragile supply chains for chlorine and filtration, warning that contamination or delivery failure would force a shutdown and endanger urban populations. Takers vs. Preparers in Collapse Scenarios (02:17:57 – 02:19:01) Contrasts two types of survivalists: those who prepare with food and water and those who plan to steal. Warns that predatory behavior will backfire and communities will retaliate harshly. Area Emergencies vs. Catastrophic Events (02:21:14 – 02:22:55) Explains the difference between temporary disruptions and long-term grid-down disasters, emphasizing that survival depends on advance community coordination and resource storage. Foreign Blowback and U.S. Militarism (02:32:46 – 02:36:04) Draws on military and personal experience to illustrate how U.S. foreign policy generates global resentment. Argues that Americans are shielded from the consequences of wars abroad. Hyperinflation Warning and Zimbabwe Currency Example (02:55:02 – 02:55:34) Highlights the instability of fiat currency by referencing Zimbabwe's hyperinflated $100 trillion banknote, warning that without food and water, currency and even precious metals lose meaning. Mao's Cultural Revolution as a Blueprint for Modern America (03:10:21 – 03:15:48) Xi Van Fleet draws direct parallels between Mao's Cultural Revolution and current American ideological trends, especially in education and identity politics. She identifies CRT and DEI as rebranded Marxist tools. Struggle Sessions and Public Shaming in the West (03:15:49 – 03:20:20) Describes how Maoist struggle sessions mirror modern Western practices of ideological confession and humiliation, such as DEI training and cancel culture. State Ownership of Children and Family Undermining (03:23:10 – 03:26:49) Explains how the CCP broke familial bonds to assert state control over children, drawing parallels to current U.S. trends in education and parental rights erosion. Gender Androgyny as a Political Weapon (03:28:41 – 03:32:34) Details Maoist efforts to erase gender distinctions and how current gender ideology similarly promotes androgyny as a form of ideological conformity and control. Religion Suppressed and Replaced by State Worship (03:33:00 – 03:36:27) Recounts how Chinese churches were forced to display Mao's image and push party ideology. Warns of similar patterns in the West where the state seeks total moral authority. To understand American history and its deep-seated relationship with violence, we must look to the last three decades of the 1800s in the American West, which had the highest murder rate per capita in American history. And it all boils down to one place: Texas. Texas was born in violence, on two fronts, with Mexico to the south and the Comanche to the north, and the invention of the Colt revolver only made the area wilder and less orderly. Across the nineteenth-century frontier defending one’s honor and reputation often resulted in duels and bitter feuds. After the cattle business boom, this sensation spilled into the greater West from Arizona to Wyoming to Kansas. The trigger-happy assortment of rustlers, hustlers, gamblers, and freelance lawmen, and their desire to defend their honor caught the eye of newspapers, igniting a firestorm of mythmaking. The word “gun-man” first appears in a newspaper in 1874, followed by an explosion of Western biographies and memoirs in the 1920s. 1940s-1950s Hollywood reimagined these gunfighters as leading men, introducing Billy the Kid and Wyatt Earp to a new generation. Today’s guest is Bryan Burrough, author of “The Gunfighters: How Texas Made the West Wild.” We explore how only in the American West could gunfighters exist, and what led to the death of this unique period in time.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Deep dive into Micah's data service providing the probate and inherited property leads used by top investors in the Rhino Tribe. The mindset shift investors need: Stop trying to convince sellers. Instead, discover those who already want a cash-as-is offer and align with their goals. Why high-quality, low-volume leads lead to massive profit spreads—with examples of $50K+ wholesale fees and a $190K multifamily buy appraising at $390K -- all the details inside the episode. Anne Applebaum: How Democracies Fail

With the world on the brink of another war, there's no one more essential to hear from than Anne Applebaum, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and author of Gulag, Iron Curtain, Red Famine (which cites Andrea's grandfather, a Holodomor survivor), Twilight of Democracy, and Autocracy Inc. In this urgent conversation, we go to the frontlines of authoritarianism, from MAGA's playbook at home to Putin's alliances abroad, from Orban's Hungary to the rising threat of war with Iran. We begin in Poland. In 2023, a broad democratic coalition ousted the far-right, anti-LGBTQ+ Law and Justice party, which had spent years eroding democratic institutions. But in a razor-thin presidential race this year, that same authoritarian force clawed its way back. The takeaway? Democracy isn't a destination. It's a constant, high-stakes battle. “Everybody always wants to write the story of populism and say that it's over, or it's here for good, or we're finished, or we've won. And that's not what the story is going to look like,” says Applebaum. “This is the ongoing struggle that all of us will be in, probably for the next few decades, maybe into the foreseeable future. The argument about the nature of the state is now here with us. And neither one side nor the other has achieved a definitive victory, I would say, either in Europe or in the United States.” Then, Iran. Trump launched airstrikes without congressional approval or public debate, risking another U.S. war. Many in the Iranian opposition welcome blows to the brutal regime, but without strategy or legality, this is more of Trump's lawless chaos. Meanwhile, Putin watches. His alliance with Iran is not ideological, but tactical, with one shared mission: destabilize democracies and sow chaos worldwide. Applebaum discusses how Hungary became the MAGA model, what Poland's resistance can teach the U.S., and why the fight for democracy is far from over. This isn't a time for hope alone. It's a time to act. Because autocracy isn't resting. And neither can we. Want to enjoy Gaslit Nation ad-free?
