He digs into Coen's story and his bond with the family at the center of it, the narrative sandbox where choices close doors you can't reopen, and the big question of whether this feels like its own world after all that shared DNA. And of course, he spends real time with the soundtrack and butchering the composers' names, breaking down how it builds the game's medieval Gothic identity across the human side and the vampire side. Mit Startmenü, Taskleiste, Papierkorb, langen Dateinamen, Plug and Play und einer konsequent auf Mausbedienung ausgerichteten Oberfläche veränderte es grundlegend, wie Millionen Menschen mit einem PC arbeiteten. Gleichzeitig blieb unter der modernen Fassade vieles beim Alten: Windows 95 basierte weiterhin auf DOS und war ein komplizierter Hybrid aus 16- und 32-Bit-Technik. Henner und Chris zeichnen zunächst die Entwicklung von der Kommandozeile zu den grafischen Oberflächen nach. Sie sprechen über die frühen Windows-Versionen, den Erfolg von Windows 3.0 und 3.1 sowie über Microsofts schwieriges Verhältnis zu IBM und OS/2. Während Windows NT als technisch fortschrittliches, aber anspruchsvolles System für Unternehmen entstand, benötigte Microsoft für den wachsenden Massenmarkt ein günstigeres und kompatibleres Windows. Aus verschiedenen Projekten wie Cougar, Panther und Stimpy entwickelte sich schließlich das unter dem Codenamen Chicago bekannte Windows 95.
