Tech founders, CEOs, and venture capitalists alike have cracked the code to eliminate HR departments in just three easy steps. Step One: replace recruiters with an AI that promises to "remove bias" but somehow keeps hiring people named Chad. Step Two: turn performance management into a gamified app where employees earn badges instead of raises. Step Three: declare that workplace culture will now be managed by a Slack emoji poll, because nothing says "values-driven organization" like reacting with a thumbs-up. There you have it! HR is officially "disrupted," and the humans in human resources are conveniently out of the way—just as the tech bros intended.Tech Bros Video: Get Rid of Your HR Department in 3 Easy StepsHRDLY Guest: A serial early HR leader at tech startups, Stacey Nordwall is currently the VP of People Strategy at Pyn. (Ezek 37:27–28). In this episode of the HR Leaders podcast I'm joined by Inga Staniūnė, Chief HR officer at Avia Solutions Group to discuss the strength of weakness: why vulnerability builds better leaders.
On this episode we hear from Pyn. She started working in hotels from the age of 15 through various internships and her interest in hospitality just grew from there. Having graduated in 2020 in the middle of covid, she took any and all opportunities for work experience, always asking questions, being willing to learn and being open. She is now in a feasibility and development role with Radisson. She does often find herself being the youngest person in the room, so that does mean she feels she has to prove herself, but at the same time she sees it as a luxury. Its ok to make mistakes and learn from them, now is the time to learn and soak up as much knowledge as possible and be inspired by the people around you. She has an incredible amount of self-awareness and confidence that I admired throughout our conversation. I love how she describes confidence. It's about loving yourself and having the courage to try. She may be young in her experiences, but we all have a lot to learn from her.
Hy is jou Verlosser.Dis Sy Woord.
Welkom by die opstanding!
Welcome to Season 3 of Dragonfly Tales, a story podcast for children (and grown ups) of all ages. We are so grateful to all our listeners for their patience - Leo and Emily have been a bit sick with colds - but we're SO glad to be back with a new episode! Our first story this episode is from our guest teller Pyn Stockman. Pyn is a professional storyteller who lives on a boat! She loves fairy tales, folktales, all sorts of stories! Pyn tells at festivals, community events, schools and libraries. She really enjoys using props and masks to bring her stories to life. The story she shares was created with young people in Birmingham as part of the Secret City Arts project and is about Friendship. Our second story is an old tale from Micronesia, a group of Islands in the Pacific Islands. Did you know Mogmog is a real island? Thankfully, there isn't an evil spirit there now! We love how brave the younger sister is in this story. If you would like a SHOUT OUT this season, then you can get in touch with us HERE or in our Dragonfly Tales Podcast Group, telling us your first name, your age and your town. And if you like our podcast, please leave us a review (Apple is great). If you would like to donate a little something towards our second season, we would be so grateful.

Dis ‘n geloofstryd, voortdurend. My lewe is kort, my lewe het ‘n doel.”

“Ek is ‘n gevangene hiervan.

A monologue about a fast food worker starts a conversation about jobs. Featuring a conversation with Chekemma Fulmore-Townsend, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Youth Network, man on the street interviews, and worst job experiences from the production team. Click here to read a transcript of this episode. Yes, I understand that if you don’t get the USDA recommended dose of greasy burger meat every day you break out in hives, but hives are not really the purview of my department. — from "Fine Dining" by Owen Fox * * * Remember your first job? Was it your worst job? “I always say I don’t have a worst job, but I do have jobs that did not give me as much energy,” Chekemma Fulmore-Townsend told us in an interview. Chekemma is the President and CEO of the Philadelphia Youth Network, a nonprofit that connects young people to meaningful employment and educational opportunities. “When I was in college I folded t-shirts at a local place called Steve and Barry’s. And while folding t-shirts did not give me energy... I learned a lot about myself.” For current middle school and high school students, summer vacation is just around the corner. All across the city, region, and country, students and teachers alike are counting down the days until the final bell rings, and school lets out. Once that bell rings, though, many students will walk out of the school and into a job, from one kind of learning to the next. For them, summer vacation means time away from school, but it doesn’t necessarily mean time off. Summer is a time to get your feet wet in the job pool. the conversation Chekemma Fulmore-Townsend is President & CEO of the Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN).
Pyn preached on the Rich Young Ruler from Luke 18. Further notes and questions may follow in due course.

Lyndon calls in after his first stage of his first FIM rally. Every bit of a challenge, he's seeing his strategy of entering a rally prior to Dakar paying dividends already. Keep it steady, Pyn!
2 Way conversation with Ned as he was headed to the Todos Santos checkpoint at RM 1220. Lyndon is currently on the bike and has been since the early swap with Tim at RM 1040. Bad whoops for the first 30 miles after RM 1040.Possibility of rider swap at Todos Santos, otherwise Pyn will bring it home.GO TDB!!

Abstract: Diverse types of glutamatergic pyramidal neurons (PyNs) mediate the myriad processing streams and output channels of the cerebral cortex, yet all derive from neural progenitors of the embryonic dorsal telencephalon. Here, we establish genetic strategies and tools for dissecting and fate mapping PyN subpopulations based on their developmental and molecular programs. We leverage key transcription factors and effector genes to systematically target the temporal patterning programs in progenitors and differentiation programs in postmitotic neurons. We generated over a dozen of temporally inducible mouse Cre and Flp knock-in driver lines to enable combinatorial targeting of major progenitor types and projection classes. Intersectional converter lines confer viral access to specific subsets defined by developmental origin, marker expression, anatomical location and projection targets. These strategies establish an experimental framework for multi-modal characterization of PyN subpopulations and tracking their developmental trajectories toward elucidating the organization and assembly of cortical processing networks and output channels.
