There's a rumor circulating that Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the Batman: Arkham series, is currently working on a Batman Beyond video game. While details are scarce, speculation suggests the game could be a PlayStation exclusive. If true, this would mark a major return to the Batman universe for Rocksteady after their work on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Fans of Batman Beyond have long hoped for a game set in Neo-Gotham, featuring Terry McGinnis as the futuristic Dark Knight. However, as of now, nothing has been officially confirmed. Hey Strangers, #jamesgunn #marvelrivals #dc James Gunn, the director steering DC Studios towards a new dawn with co-CEO Peter Safran, has recently commented on a Marvel Rivals-styled game with DC characters, and the boss would thankfully be open to the idea. DC has dished out its fair share of games in its longevity, including Gotham Knights, Batman: Arkham Shadow on the Meta Quest 3, and Injustice 2. However, none quite reached the height of Rocksteady Studios' Arkham series, but Marvel Rivals has perhaps paved the way for a hero shooter on the horizon.=======================================I had to Make a playlist for this lolhttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPn9z2zi8y0ZDNRGzJtPin2V-Ad2K_3bl**************************************************My other podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw**************************************************article links:https://gamerant.com/marvel-rivals-dc-version-possibility-james-gunn/https://www.thegamer.com/wonder-woman-game-cancelled-multiversus-developer-shut-down-warner-bros/https://www.polygon.com/gaming/517406/multiversus-canceled-shut-down-datehttps://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2024/12/10/a-year-later-suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league-will-end-with-deathstroke-season/======================================Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discordhttps://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxqTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoderYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@codingwithstrangersTwitchhttps://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangersTwitterhttps://twitter.com/strangestcoderBlueSkyhttps://bsky.app/profile/strangestcoder.bsky.socialmerchSupport CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. This week, Jared and Teladia outline why Death in comics has become a meaningless marketing tactic that is slowly losing its effectiveness. They use the Death of Superman and Death of the Justice League as examples of when comics used death as a marketing tactic. "The Death of Superman" is a crossover story event mostly featured in DC Comics' Superman-related publications. The crossover, which originated from editor Mike Carlin and writers Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, Jerry Ordway, and Karl Kesel, began in December 1992 and lasted until October 1993. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a 2024 action-adventure shooter game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. Based on the DC Comics team Suicide Squad, it is a spin-off of the Batman: Arkham series, and a follow-up to Batman: Arkham Knight. Discussed in this episode 1. The origin of the death and rebirth trope 2. How the death of Superman broke death in comics 3. Why Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League failed as a marketing tactic 4. When death was used well What do you think? What broke death in comics? Is there a time where death was used well? This week review No Rest for the Wicked. It's a game in early access from the team that brought us Ori and the Blind Forest. Austin played it and is loving it so far. Brett also jumps into Tekken 8 after seeing it at DreamHack Dallas. It's a blast from the past with a ton of content to keep people busy. From a story mode to arcade mode to online versus, its a dense game with a ton of replayability. We went to DreamHack Dallas and saw some of our first eSports tournaments. We watched the Overwatch Championship Series, Tekken 8 tournments, Counter-Strike 2 and Starcraft 2. There was a lot of fun games to watch, play and more. We also talk about Summer Games Fest and it was a little underwhelming, but still a good time. There were some great indie highlights. We also watched the Sony State of Play where the biggest games were Astro Bot which looked great and Concord which looked...okay. Then of course Suicide Squad is still struggling in the news with stories of it having a rough development with a lot of misguidance and misdirection. It even was supposed to feature drivable vehicles and that was pulled last minute. Well would you look at that, 6 years in, we are still rambling about nonsense. Ubisoft finally announces and shows off its newest Assassin's Creed, Shadows, set in feudal Japan, allowing everyone to play out their Shogun dreams. Meanwhile, Square Enix is finally going to support a multiplatform agenda, and Helldivers breaks a record. Also Hollywood upfronts are going on, so we have a ton of TV news, not to be outdone, by the announcement of a new Lord of the Rings movie, or the return of Happy Gilmore.

Nicky and Eric are both Batman as they celebrate their favorite extra super hero in an episode all about Batman: Arkham Asylum. Arkham Asylum is a 2009 action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Eidos Interactive for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows.  A Mac OS X version was released later in 2011. In the game's main storyline, Batman battles his archenemy, the Joker, who instigates an elaborate plot to seize control of Arkham Asylum, trap Batman inside with many of his incarcerated foes, and threaten Gotham City with hidden bombs. Press Any Button hosts Nicky (a new gamer) and Eric (a lifetime gamer) are a married couple who both love video games. For every video game they will discuss its past (history of the game, developers story, and fun facts), present (game play, game review and strategy), and future (will there be a sequel?? A movie?)  BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE… Every game also comes with a challenge presented by the host that chose the game. If the challenge is not completed then whoever failed has to do a video game rap! Were 7,000 reviews for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League scrubbed from Steam by Valve or developer Rocksteady Studios? That's what's been alleged, but did it actually happen? If so, why would Steam allow that many reviews to go missing? Were the reviews actually INFLATING the positive score instead of "review bombing" the game? ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com ➡️ Audio Edition: https://open.spotify.com/show/6qJc5C6OkQkaZnGCeuVOD1 ➡️ Gaming News: https://open.spotify.com/show/0A7VIqE3r5MQkFgL9nifNc Additional Context: The controversy surrounding "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" (SS:KTJL) seems to have taken another dramatic turn with allegations that around 7,000 reviews were scrubbed from its Steam page. In the digital age, where user reviews can significantly influence a game's reputation and commercial success, such a claim raises eyebrows and a flurry of questions about integrity, transparency, and the mechanisms in place to manage user feedback. Steam, the digital distribution platform operated by Valve, is a major hub for PC gaming, where user reviews are an integral part of the ecosystem. These reviews help gamers make informed decisions and offer developers feedback. However, the system is not without its challenges, particularly when it comes to "review bombing" — a practice where large numbers of users leave negative reviews en masse to artificially lower a game's ratings, often in response to issues unrelated to the game's quality or content. In the case of SS:KTJL, the situation appears to be the inverse of the typical review bombing scenario. Allegations suggest that the missing reviews were, in fact, inflating the game's positive score. If true, this would be an unusual twist, as manipulation efforts are generally assumed to tank a game's rating rather than boost it. The reasons behind such a move could range from attempts to salvage the game's reputation following its critically panned launch and reported technical issues to more strategic efforts to influence consumer perception and sales positively. The question of why Steam or Rocksteady Studios (the developer behind SS:KTJL) would allow or facilitate the removal of such a significant number of reviews hinges on the specifics of the situation. Steam has mechanisms in place to detect and address anomalous review activity to maintain the integrity of its review system. If these reviews were deemed to violate Steam's guidelines or were flagged as part of an orchestrated campaign to manipulate scores, Steam might intervene to remove these reviews to preserve the authenticity of the user feedback system. However, without concrete evidence or official statements from Valve or Rocksteady Studios, the details of what happened remain speculative. Both Valve and Rocksteady have policies addressing review manipulation and ensuring the Steam platform remains a reliable source for user feedback. An official investigation or statement would be required to clarify the circumstances under which these reviews were allegedly removed and to address the concerns and speculation from the gaming community. This incident, whether confirmed or debunked, underscores the ongoing challenges digital platforms face in managing user-generated content and maintaining trust with their user base. It also highlights the high stakes of online reviews in the gaming industry, where perception can quickly become reality, influencing a game's success or failure in a highly competitive market. The opening weekend of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League makes it very clear to me that the critics are wrong. My Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League review is after 22 hours and still ongoing, but I don't see any thing warranting the incredibly low scores. Especially when you look at the user scores on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation. The Suicide Squad game has received a lot of criticism for the story and how you kill the Justice League which I find interesting. It seems many haven't actually played the game or paid attention to the story. Also virtually every Suicide Squad game review that I have read doesn't judge it as a live service game but as a game they wish wasn't. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may have just killed the Arkham series and any future excitement for more games from Rocksteady. The game was critically panned and had fewer players than Marvel's Avengers at launch. Even if Rocksteady improves the games with patches, players have made their feelings about this game loud and clear. It's as dead to them as Batman. ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com ➡️ Audio Edition: https://open.spotify.com/show/6qJc5C6OkQkaZnGCeuVOD1 ➡️ Gaming News: https://open.spotify.com/show/0A7VIqE3r5MQkFgL9nifNc Additional Context: "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" (SS:KTJL) has seemingly stumbled right out of the gate. This title, developed by Rocksteady Studios, the acclaimed creators behind the beloved Batman: Arkham series, was positioned to be a blockbuster. However, upon release, it appears to have flown closer to the sun than Icarus, and the wax on its wings has melted disastrously. Critics have not been kind to SS:KTJL, and the player base has been even less forgiving. To draw a comparison, the game reportedly had fewer players at launch than "Marvel's Avengers," a game that itself faced a mixed reception and struggled to maintain a strong player base after its initial release. Such a comparison is damning, particularly for a game that carries the weighty legacy of the Arkham series—a franchise that redefined superhero video games with its compelling narrative, innovative gameplay, and immersive world-building. The criticism of SS:KTJL centers around several key areas: deviation from the beloved mechanics and storytelling style of the Arkham series, the implementation of a live-service model that many fans felt was unnecessary or detracting from the experience, and various technical issues and gameplay imbalances. For a fanbase eager to dive back into the rich, dark universe Rocksteady crafted with the Arkham games, these changes and issues have been met with disappointment and frustration. In the face of such backlash, there's speculation about the long-term impact on the future of Rocksteady and the Arkham series. Can a developer, once celebrated for elevating the superhero genre in video games, redeem itself in the eyes of its fans? History shows that while the video game industry can be unforgiving, it also allows for comebacks. Games have been salvaged and perceptions changed through post-launch patches, updates, and expansions that address player concerns. Yet, the initial reception can leave a lasting stain on a game's reputation, making recovery an uphill battle. The comparison to Batman being "as dead" to players is a poignant one, given the thematic weight the character carries in Rocksteady's previous titles. It suggests that, for many fans, the disappointment with SS:KTJL isn't just about the game's perceived failings but about a sense of betrayal to the legacy of what came before. The Arkham series didn't just set a high bar; it created a deep emotional and psychological connection with its audience. To see its successor fall so short of expectations is a blow not just to the franchise but to the community that held it in high regard. Hello All! Another week, another rant, but not as heated. As you can tell by the title its about Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, and boy am I not happy. We also had a state of play from Sony, Microsoft gutted Blizzard, and Mass Effect is headed to Destiny. Meanwhile The Thunderbolts loses several stars, Supergirl is found, Denis Villeneuve has plans for Dune 3. Also, there was an issue with my microphone this week, so that will explain the poor audio quality.

The recent Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League review code drama has been completely overstated. IGN was apparently so unhappy they published a false headline and article about the game's price in the UK. The Suicide Squad game launched today and they are apparently having server troubles. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an action shooter game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. Part 2 Acomi and Turk182 continue with their hands-off review of the Rocksteady Studios game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. While neither have actually played the game, their interest in the game went from Batman: Arkham City to Marvel Vs Capcom Ultimate after the first delay. The addition of loot crates and online multiplayer into another generic online game. The topic switches back to the racism and how certain racist opinions and ideology has woven itself into the culture of other countries despite not having a history of poor race relations. Then, Turk says something racist, that only he can get away with, for cheap laughs. Part 1 Acomi and Turk182 Rant about their dislike of Fortnite and how inconsequential cosmetic items has propelled it's popularity. Ridiculous dances and licensed player skins has made a mediocre, free-to-play game a financial juggernaut. The franchise reportedly made over $20 billion dollars in renewal revenue in 2023. The game's popularity and monetary growth also made it a target for thieves. Hackers would take over someone's account to steal and sell the death-dances and player skins and sell them online. In-games purchases that didn't add any player bonuses or provide any advantages, and were simply for show. They transition to a discussion on Dragonball and Dragonball Z and the racist caricature of Mr. Popo. And, they express their disappointment at the heavily delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game by Rocksteady Studios. #OMTWF #Acomi #Turk182 #KorovaEntertainment #Fortnite #SuicideSquadKJL #SuicideSquad #RocksteadyStudios #Rocksteady #gloating #skins #gameplayskins #Dragonball #DragonballZ #MrPopo #DBZ #Popo #racism Follow Acomi on Twitter at @AcomiDraws and on Instagram at AcomiDraws. During the mid-to-late 2000s, film fans were breaking down the doors of cinemas all over the world in order to see how new life had been given to the Batman. Around this time, the alter ego of Bruce Wayne had a similar renaissance in video games. We're going back to 2009 in order to look at the action-adventure game that became the measuring stick for future comic book games. We're talking Batman: Arkham Asylum. On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we look at how a young English developer named Rocksteady Studios was tasked with bringing the story of Batman writer Paul Dini to life. We also discuss how getting the cape right was so important to Brian and all his colleagues, as well as how a singer almost owned Eidos Interactive. In our review, you'll hear some chat on the sameyness of (most) Predator rooms – but also gargoyles with dynamite on them, how Detective Mode is OP, What's The Time Mr. Scarecrow, the rhythmic flow of punching and kicking baddies, the superhero launching himself at said baddies, glove-fixing, combo breakers, learning inverted takedowns on the job, Batman's gadgets that he left in the boot of his car, Metroidvania-ness in an open (space) world, setting up a crime scene without jurisdiction and scanning for Old Country tobacco, awful boss fights and a mohawked Joker, the beauty in the awful of Arkham Island, comic book characters in a comic book world, Christopher Nolan, Mark Hamill's menace and joy, the opening ten minutes, breaking the fourth wall, interview tapes, stellar easter eggs, and Commissioner Jim Gordon's COG-like physique. After all that, the lads take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then they give their final verdicts on whether Batman: Arkham Asylum is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting Forbidden Siren on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS
