This week I'm reading from Richard Lang's book 'UAP Incidents First Responders Guide: POLICE - EMS - FD' UFO/UAP Enigma Is Real - Now more than ever it is becoming clear to the general public that UFO/UAP enigma is real. After years of secrecy the truth is finally coming out about vehicles of non-human origin that have visited here, some that have crashed here, and non-human entities both dead and alive that have been recovered. UAP Incident Preparedness for First Responders - Just as officers were once trained in hazardous materials recognition and counterterrorism preparedness, UAP Incident Preparedness will hopefully become a necessary component of public safety operations and training. Law enforcement officers are uniquely vulnerable to UAP encounters due to the isolated and unpredictable nature of patrol work. Therefore, it stands to reason that sheriff's offices, police departments, fire departments and EMS rescue squads would now want their people properly trained to understand this phenomenon, to at least know a little bit about the history of it and most importantly from a personal safety perspective, know what to do and not do if they ever encounter such a situation. Bio Ufologist - Researcher - Investigator - Author - Speaker Richard Lang was an FAA Licensed Commercial Pilot with an Instrument, Multi Engine Rating for over thirty years. He has a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Studies and an Associate's Degree in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mr. Lang enjoyed a successful career for more than 20 years in the corporate banking world as a Senior Vice President working in Brokerage and the Trust Investment Division of Commercial Banks, which afforded him personal time off and sufficient income to explore a lifelong interest in UFO/UAP research. MUFON STAR TEAM While employed in the corporate banking world during the 1990s, Richard joined the UFO organization known as MUFON and was certified as a Field Investigator; he eventually was appointed as Chief Investigator for MUFON in both Virginia and North Carolina. He was one of the original six members of the elite MUFON STAR team where he functioned as coordinator and the first manager of the team. Virginia Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Richard attained registration as a Private Investigator and Personal Protection Specialist with DCJS in 2000 and he worked part time for a private investigation firm in Charlottesville doing surveillance and investigation. In 2002, Lang graduated from the Police Academy and certified as a sworn law enforcement officer in Virginia as a Reserve Deputy for the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office, primarily providing volunteer community service on weekends and evenings which he really enjoyed. During this time, he received certification from the Virginia Department of Emergency Services as a Search-Rescue Field Team Leader and was certified as a Weapons of Mass Destruction Responder from the US Department of Justice. Federal Law Enforcement In the post 911 period Mr. Lang left his banking career to serve as a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) at the rank of Sergeant in Virginia airports. He was sworn both on the federal level as Special Deputy for the U.S. Marshals Service and on the state level as a Deputy Sheriff for the County Sheriff's Office. During this time the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was initially created as Congress had mandated extremely high levels of security for USA Airports. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) After serving for approximately a year as a LEO Richard was hired by Homeland Security and assigned to TSA as a Federal Liaison for airport stakeholders responsible for implementing federal procedures and dealing with regulatory initiatives associated with aviation security. This also included responsibility for airlines and airport authorities as well as all law enforcement agencies in Virginia that respond to airports during aviation emergencies. I interviewed Deputy Chief of Fire and Aviation Management, Sarah Fisher, and Associate Chief of the Forest Service, Chris French, to get the details of the plan.There is a lot that is taking place, including the relocation of the Forest Service headquarters, and Research and Development will be moved as well. They are moving away from their Regional model and will transition to a more state-based model. This reorganization will take place in phases, and all Regional Offices will be closed. It’s Day 28 of the federal government shutdown – just a few days away from this becoming the longest-running shutdown in U.S. history… And air traffic controllers working without pay are feeling it. Today, the nation’s roughly 13,000 air traffic controllers are getting their first zero-dollar paycheck since the government shutdown began on October 1. Some of them say they’re considering side gigs, like driving for Uber or DoorDash, to make up for lost income. And thousands of flights have been delayed over the past few days because of controller absences. The shutdown is only the latest in a long list of frustrations bogging these workers down. Understaffing has been troubling the industry for years – including here in Washington state. An aviation expert explains what it takes to become an air traffic controller, the hardships that come with this profession and where the shutdown fits into all of this. Um 7.30 Uhr ist die erste Maschine in Friedrichshafen mit Ziel Mönchengladbach gestartet. Eineinhalb Stunden dauert der Flug und kostet ab 150 Euro ohne Gepäck. Nur neun Passagiere haben Platz im Flieger. Der Gründer und Geschäftsführer der Betreiber-Firma geht davon aus, dass das Angebot rentabel und deutlich günstiger sei als einen Privatjet zu chartern. Im Moment hat das Unternehmen neben Mönchengladbach auch Hamburg, Strausberg bei Berlin und Münster-Osnabrück im Angebot, plant aber, seine Routen zu erweitern. Dem Geschäftsmodell liege ein mehr oder weniger klassisches Charter-Modell zugrunde, sagt Christoph Brützel, selbstständiger Berater im Luftverkehrsbereich und langjähriger Professor für Aviation Management an der International University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef. A longtime educator discusses getting an aviation education. In the news, companies partner to address corporate aviation safety and security, an A321 engine shutdown after a birdstrike, a proposal to remove ATC from the FAA, and when pigs fly. Guest Dr. Stanley Harriman is the Department Head of Aviation Science at Orange Coast College (OCC) in Costa Mesa, California. OCC focuses on getting students certificates that allow them to move into the workforce. Nichole was born and raised in Iowa, moved around and found herself right back to where she started. She graduated from the University of Dubuque, earning a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management and Business minor. She then attended Walden University with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a specialization in Forensics, accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). She was recognized for high honors, integrity, and academic success. She spent much of her graduate studies geared towards forensic profiling. She worked as an outpatient Mental Health Therapist, specializing in children and families with complex trauma. Let's just say she has become very comfortable asking the hard questions! Nichole grew up seeing spirits, a medium/channeler, so her world was never “normal” but that is just the way she likes it. She was trained under other mediums to get a handle on it. It became very intrusive at moments. She has worked with individuals and teams at undisclosed locations. Around 10 years ago She started independently researching. Heather Kelly joined KSL in April 2012 and took the circuitous route to get here. She received a degree in Aviation Management from Westminster College and worked for 9 years in the airline industry. After realizing the highlight of her day was bumping people off oversold flights, she decided to find a career that was more rewarding and less chance of being yelled at by passengers. She was lucky enough to be hired at a veterinary clinic where she could pursue her life-long interest in animal care. After being trained on-the-job as a veterinary technician, she quickly rose up the ladder and became Hospital Director of two clinics simultaneously. Unfortunately, when the recession hit, the clinics closed. So, Heather moved onto her third career, in broadcasting, using her Minor in Theater Arts. Heather believes she found the place she was meant to be all along.
