The Bros are back in person and the vibes are high. The Snow is melting but 2026 is heating up in a good and bad ways. The Bros first discuss their lengthy Weekend Recap trying to survive the ice and being fathers, spending time with family and tapping into new Music. The first conversation is about J Cole's new “Birthday Blizzard” freestyle he dropped last week and some of the controversial things that came from those records. Terrance and Terrell both share a favorite of the four, and discuss if somebody should respond to J Cole and the possibility of him sliding bars Kendrick's way. A good conversation but you know how they get with that sensitive topic. This is all before diving into their thoughts on the 2026 Grammy Awards. A MALLORY BROS PODCAST MUTHAFUCKIN TRADITION! They've been making predictions all year and the winners are finally chosen. Of course they chop it and dive deep into trending opinions from Grammy night like the hate that Olivia Dean received after winning best new artist, Kendrick Lamar & SZA Wins, Leon Thomas & Kehlani R&B, Bad Bunny Wins the Big One AOTY, Clipse coming up short to Kendrick Lamar's GNX for Best Rap Album over Clipse and Terrance even make's a point that the Clipse seemed to be living in Pharrell's shadow. EVERYTHING IS A LOT. Next, the Bros talk about how the Hip Hop World froze when an Epstein file dropped including the names of Jayz and Pusha T. They discuss the seriousness of knowing the legality of these claims while also pointing out the very obvious contradictions and hesitations to cover this story from other media outlets. This news has Hip Hop in a pinch. Terrell says “The only choice is to just wait.” Next the Terrance has a list of actors/actresses he found that he says were PERFECT for a role, but didn't get the part. A lot these you probably won't know and the topic is filled with a lot of good details about the films as well. Not just the roles and auditions process. Terrell gives a hot take on Bacon before the Bros wrap up Episode 289 with the Movie Suggestions of the week. BROS BBQ TASTE SO GOOD.

You probably should be burping your house: every morning, every evening and whenever you get the urge throughout the day, tbh. Jessie Stephens explains to Emily Vernem and Holly Wainwright why not doing that is… a lil bit gross. And while we’re hygiene-sharing, Em has a question for the group: How many pairs of underwear do you take if you are going away for a weekend? Holly thought she knew the answer to this question, but she’s definitely wrong. Also, how many risks are parents allowed to take? We’re talking about Alex Honnold and Sanni McCandles - the man who just climbed a skyscraper with no ropes, net or parachute, and the mother of his little kids who watched him do it. Is it okay to just… carry on regardless with your passions, however isolating or deadly they are, once you have kids? Plus: Be more “vegan + bacon”. Why that’s not an oxymoron, but a philosophy to live by in 2026. Oh, and recommendations. Which this week include:Emily’s underwear edit - including Nala (the sexiest Aussie pants) and many more. Holly’s enthusiasm for Oscar-nommed Marty Supreme, in cinemas now, and a high-brow discussion about Timothée's bottom. And Jessie is watching The Pitt, Season Two, on HBO Max. Urgent addition! In this episode of the Bacon Bibles and Barbells podcast, Coach Justin, Coach Emily, and Coach Amanda how to talk to your kids about health and nutrition. They emphasize the need for parents to instill healthy habits in their children from a young age, focusing on understanding food as fuel, encouraging physical activity, and navigating the challenges of different age groups. We break the conversation down into ages 0-5, 6-12, and 13+ to make it easier to identify what things to emphasize in conversations with their kids as they move through the different developmental stages. They emphasize the need for open communication about body image in light of scripture and God's design, portion sizes, a time and place for everything, and the significance of encouraging healthy habits. We also address the common pitfalls we see from parents fairly often. The coaches also highlight the role of strength training in building confidence and the necessity of addressing the nutritional needs of active teens. They provide insights on fostering a supportive and positive environment for healthy choices and the importance of normalizing discussions about health and fitness within the family. There is also a brief conversation on addressing the topic childhood weight gain and how to think about it in your own family context. Give it a listen here or wherever you get your podcasts! Clay joins author John U. Bacon of Ann Arbor, Michigan, whose book, The Gales of November: The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald, takes a new look at the sinking of the Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975. Four years in the making, Bacon's research unearthed new material on the catastrophe, in which all 29 crew members (all men) perished when the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. Was there crew error or hubris in Captain Ernest McSorley? Was the great 729-foot ship structurally unsound? Or was it just a perfect storm? The winds rose to 100 miles per hour that day, and the waves were sometimes 60 feet or more high. The Fitzgerald settled on the bottom of Lake Superior more than 500 feet below the surface. It has been visited several times since, but the Canadian government, whose territorial waters the incident occurred in, severely restricts visitation because it regards it as a gravesite. This episode was recorded on November 24, 2025.

For three decades following World War II, the Great Lakes overtook Europe as the epicenter of global economic strength. The region was the beating heart of the world economy, possessing all the power and prestige Silicon Valley does today. And no ship represented the apex of the American Century better than the 729-foot-long Edmund Fitzgerald―the biggest, best, and most profitable ship on the Lakes. But on November 10, 1975, as the “storm of the century” threw one hundred mile-per-hour winds and 50-foot waves on Lake Superior, the Mighty Fitz found itself at the worst possible place, at the worst possible time. When she sank, she took all twenty-nine men onboard down with her, leaving the tragedy shrouded in mystery for a half century. In The Gales of November, award-winning journalist John U. Bacon presents the definitive account of the disaster, drawing on more than one hundred interviews with the families, friends, and former crewmates of those lost. Bacon explores the vital role Great Lakes shipping played in America's economic boom, the uncommon lives the sailors led, the sinking's most likely causes, and the heartbreaking aftermath for those left behind―"the wives, the sons, and the daughters,” as Gordon Lightfoot sang in his unforgettable ballad.Focused on those directly affected by the tragedy, The Gales of November is both an emotional tribute to the lives lost and a propulsive, page-turning narrative history of America's most-mourned maritime disaster. https://www.amazon.com/Gales-November-Untold-Edmund-Fitzgerald/dp/1324094648http://www.yourlotandparcel.org

Their conversation dives into practical adoption, industry-specific use cases, and what attendees can expect from the 2026 AI Agent & Copilot Summit NA, where real-world outcomes, not proofs of concept, take center stage.Key TakeawaysIndustry-specific use cases: Bacon highlights that outcomes, data sets, and success metrics differ dramatically between sectors like manufacturing, retail, and professional services. By showcasing real industry accelerators, the summit helps attendees see what's possible within their own vertical while also learning from how other industries solve similar problems using the same technologies.Accessible depth for every role: The summit is intentionally designed to support a wide range of maturity levels. Bacon notes that some attendees are just learning how to write better prompts, while others are orchestrating complex, multi-platform agentic systems. The power of in-person connection: While sessions provide structured learning, both speakers agree that the most impactful moments often happen outside the rooms. Bacon emphasizes that hallway conversations, meals, and informal networking create lasting relationships that extend well beyond the event. These connections give attendees trusted peers to call months later when challenges arise, making the summit not just a learning experience, but a long-term support network.

In the last episode on the Timeline, “Bacon's Aftermath 1: Diplomacy and Conspiracy 1677-1685,” we looked at the political and geopolitical aftermath of Bacon's Rebellion. This time we tackle the changes inside Virginia's society and economy in the years following Bacon's Rebellion, some of which may have been because of the Rebellion, and others of which probably would have happened anyway. The first half of the episode looks at the governorship of Thomas, Lord Culpeper, and his deft efforts to give effect to the Crown’s desire “to substitute the benevolent despotism of the king for the rapacious local despotism that had brought on one rebellion and threatened to bring on another.” In the second half, we consider the rise of Black slavery in Virginia and the decline of indentured servitude in the quarter century following Bacon’s Rebellion, the economic foundations of the shift, and the untended and somewhat surprising social consequence that by the early 18th century Virginia was a much more stable society than it had been when it had depended on English indentured servants. In this episode of Historically Thinking, we begin not with a historian's voice, but with the voice of a seventeenth-century woman.Lady Frances Culpeper Berkeley—born in England, twice widowed, and married in 1670 to Sir William Berkeley, governor of Virginia—speaks from the midst of crisis. Jamestown has burned. Nathaniel Bacon's rebellion has fractured the colony's political order. Her husband has been recalled to England to answer charges before the Crown. Lady Berkeley, left behind, attempts to make sense of loyalty, loss, honor, and exile. That voice is brought to life by my second guest, Amy Stallings, a historian and historical interpreter who believes the past is best understood not only through documents, but through embodied experience. Together, we explore Bacon's Rebellion from an unfamiliar vantage point, the interior world of Lady Frances Berkeley, and the intellectual stakes of historical reenactment itself: what it reveals, what it risks, and what it makes newly visible.00:00 - Introduction00:28 - Lady Frances Culpeper Berkeley Introduces Herself00:58 - Writing to Her Husband in England02:55 - Sir William Berkeley's Accomplishments in Virginia04:23 - The Royal Commissioners and Personal Betrayal05:47 - Berkeley's Loyalty During the English Civil War07:17 - Berkeley's Resistance to Parliament08:15 - Berkeley's Return to Power and Jamestown's Glory09:39 - Nathaniel Bacon's Rebellion Begins11:08 - Bacon Surrounds the State House12:57 - Introducing Amy Stallings13:41 - Theater and History Intertwined14:27 - The Dissertation on Ballroom Politics21:40 - Dance as Political Resistance24:25 - English Country Dancing Before the Waltz28:53 - First Character: Susan Binks, Tobacco Bride28:53 - Learning History Through First-Person Interpretation39:14 - Developing Lady Berkeley's Character46:52 - Lady Berkeley's Isolation and Loss46:52 - Lady Berkeley's Inheritance and Legal Battles55:00 - The Challenges of Colonial Communication57:00 - Sewing Period Costumes61:51 - Conclusion

Russell & Robert meet Barbara Dawson for a behind the scenes visit to Francis Bacon's Studio, installed in Dublin's iconic Hugh Lane Gallery. The gallery is currently closed to the public for major renovations so we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring the studio and galleries to life with this exclusive audio tour, while closed to public. A visit to Francis Bacon's Studio at Hugh Lane Gallery gives you a unique opportunity to experience the working process of one of the twentieth century's greatest artists.Born in Dublin in 1909, Bacon grew up in county Kildare. He left home at the age of sixteen and eventually settled in London where he established himself as one of the leading international artists of his generation. Bacon moved into 7 Reece Mews, London, in 1961 where he lived and worked until his death in 1992.In 1998, director Barbara Dawson secured the donation of Francis Bacon's studio from the artist's heir, John Edwards, and Brian Clarke, executor of the Estate of Francis Bacon. Her vision was to remove the entire studio including all of the items without exception, as well as the architectural features, and relocate the studio as it was, to the Hugh Lane Gallery. In the August of that year, as project manager, she assembled a team of conservators, curators, and archaeologists to carry out the move. The archaeologists made survey and elevation drawings of the small studio, mapping out the spaces and locations of all the objects, while the conservators prepared the works for travel and curators tagged and packed each of the items, including the dust. The walls, doors floor and ceiling were also removed.Follow @TheHughLane and visit: https://hughlane.ie/arts_artists/francis-bacons-studio/ Hosted on Acast.
