Latvijas Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā šobrīd skatāma izstāde “Vaclavs Špakovskis. Rīgas piezīmju grāmatas”. Kā arhitekts Špakovskis (1883–1973) lielākoties darbojies Polijā, taču viņa idejas par ritmiskās līnijās ietverto vēstījumu dzima tieši Rīgā, mācoties Rīgas Politehniskajā institūtā. Izstāde ir Vaclava Špakovska darbu atgriešanās Rīgā, izstādi pavadošā programma meklē viņa ideju saiknes ar laikmetīgo mūziku un Latvijas mākslinieku darbiem. Poļu arhitekts, inženieris Vaclavs Špakovskis dzimis 1883. gadā Varšavā, Polijā, 1897. gadā kopā ar ģimeni pārcēlās uz Rīgu, kur 1902. gadā sāka studēt arhitektūru Rīgas Politehniskajā institūtā (tagadējā Rīgas Tehniskajā universitātē). Latvijas Laikmetīgās mākslas centra, sadarbībā ar Ādama Mickēviča institūtu Varšavā un Lodzas Mākslas muzeju rīkotās izstādes “Vaclavs Špakovskis. Rīgas piezīmju grāmatas” vienā no zālēm izstādīti lielāki zīmējumi, kuros milimetru platas līnijas mērķtiecīgi, simetriski veido sarežģītus rakstus. Īpaši iekārtoti stendi ļauj uz sienas redzamajam attēlam izsekot arī ar pirkstu, taktilās sajūtās pārliecinoties par zīmētās līnijas nepārtrauktību. Tas, ko droši varam apgalvot, aplūkojot izstādi, ka Vaclavs Špakovskis bijis lielisks zīmētājs. Otrā zālē izstādītas nosaukumā pieminēto piezīmju grāmatiņu lappuses, tajās skices, portreti, ainavas, piezīmes, rakstiskās piezīmes šajās grāmatiņās ļauj spriest arī par Vaclava Špakovska plašo interešu loku – mūzika, meteroloģija, etnogrāfija. Un arī izstādi pavadošajā pasākumu programmā trīs dažādu jomu pārstāvji – arhitekts un filozofs Jānis Taurens, mākslas zinātnieks Jānis Borgs, komponists Krists Auznieks – meklēja idejas Špakovska vilktajās līnijās. Raidījuma laikā ielūkosimies notikušajos priekšlasījumos, sarunbiedri raidījumā – izstādes kuratore Inga Lāce, un komponists Krists Auznieks. Kā mākslinieks Vaclavs Špakovskis tika atklāts jau pēc savas nāves 1973. gadā. Jo Nacionālajā mākslas muzejā skatāmā izstāde, varbūt nav nemaz tik vizuāli efektīga, krāšņa, Taču Špakovska paveikto un viņa domas interesantas padara 20. gadsimta pieredze – tehnoloģiju attīstība, meklējumi mākslā. Piemēram, visi zinām,  kāds izskatās skaņas viļņa grafiskais attēls – tā ir līnija, un ar šo piemēru Krists Auznieks arī sāk savu lekciju. Sakārtotas, ritmiskas līnijas ir arī izstādes tēma. Atgriezīsimies pie izstādē redzamā. Izstādīto piezīmju grāmatu lapas ļauj arī izsekot laikā, kā attīstījušās Vaclava Špakovska zīmējumu tēmas, vienā no izstādi paskaidrojošajiem tekstiem izlasu, ka savas jaunības gadu piezīmes autors pats esot šķirojis, mērķtiecīgi atbrīvojoties no lappusēm, kurās zīmētās līnijas nav bijušas pietiekami ritmiskas, tātad – viņaprāt, nesaturējušas jēgu, kuras klātbūtni līniju rakstā viņš pamatojis vēlāk, 1969. gadā tapušajā traktātā  “Ritmiskās līnijas”. “Vai šis nav mans zīmēšanas princips? Radīt savstarpēji savienotas figūras ar vienu nepārtrauktu līniju? Pašsaprotami, ka pastāv bezgalīgs skaits kombināciju, tātad ir iespēja attīstīties.” “Piezīmju grāmata – skiču burtnīca II”, Rīga, 1908. gads. “Neregularitātes dabā izmanto, lai atklātu likumsakarības. Cilvēks, visur redzot likumsakarības, nepievērsīs tām uzmanību (gluži tāpat kā, ejot pa labi pazīstamu ielu, pa kuru esam gājuši daudzas reizes, mēs nepievēršam uzmanību priekšmetiem. Anomālija piesaista uzmanību, pārsteidz cilvēku ar savu unikalitāti, veicina dažādu seku pretstatīšanu dažādiem cēloņiem.” “Piezīmju grāmata – skiču burtnīca II”, Rīga, 1902 – 1907. gads. Vaclavs Špakovskis strādāja Polijā  – par pilsētas arhitektu Otvokā, Pasta un telekomunikāciju ministrijā Varšavā, vēlāk Bidgoščā. Pēc kara pārcēlās uz Vroslavu, kur kopš 1952. gada vadīja Vroclavas būvniecības inspektorātu. Mākslas zinātnieks Jānis Borgs izstāsta savu stāstu. Par Padomju Latvijas mākslas vidi pagājušā gadsimta septiņdesmitajos, caur dzelzs priekškara ne tik noslēgto Poliju, mākslinieku Ojāru Ābolu, kaut kur sadabūtu modernās mākslas enciklopēdiju. Jānis Borgs tolaik guvis visai sadrumstalotu, tomēr iedvesmojošu priekšstatu par pasaules mākslā notiekošo. Un veids, kā to aptvert un pārdomāt bijis – pašam sākt darināt šāda veida darbus. Strīpiņmākslu, kas tolaik, iztrūkstot idejas kontekstam, tika attiecināta uz lietišķo mākslu.   Interesanti, ka Jānis Borgs, un te var vilkt paralēles ar Špakovski, savas līnijas arī zīmējis arhitektu birojā. Patiesībā, tas ir visai amizants stāsts, kā aizstāt datoru.  Zīmēšanas mašīnas vietā ir arhitekta lineāls, nejaušības ģenerējošas datorprogrammas vietā – metamais kauliņš. Šobrīd, kad pasauli pārņēmuši datori, nereti mākslinieki izvēlas imitēt datora radīto, zīmējot ar roku, un tādejādi atgriežot mākslā cilvēka klātbūtni. Jāņa Borga ideja, sapņojot par nekad neredzētajiem datoriem, tobrīd bijis tieši pretējs – viņu interesējis, kā varētu aizvākt mākslinieka personību, tā vietā lai ir mākslīgais intelekts, nejaušība, mašīnas vilkta līnija. Savukārt grafiskais dizainers Valdis Celms, ieteica, runājot par Špakovska idejām,  vārda “ornaments” vietā izmantot vārdu “raksts”. Šis latviskais vārds daudz pilnīgāk ietver vienlaikus līniju ritmu  un jēgu. Izstāde “Vaclavs Špakovskis. Rayne has a very soft, soothing voice. At a young age she started singing in a choir and recreated songs on the Blockflöte. In 2018 she published her first song "Note to self" which kind of just came to her. It has a raw vibe like that of neo soul singer Dwele who has recorded his demo in his bedroom, called, The Rize, and sold it out of the trunk of his car. Since her first release, Rayne's music has progressed a lot and fast. Creating music helps her process emotions. Listening back to the songs she's created makes her feel at peace and closure with whatever it was she went through at the time of creating it. Rayne consideres herself a spiritual person. She believes that it's important to recognize the emotions in order to process them and eventually let them go. In der heutigen Folge spreche ich mit Schauspieler Eugene Boateng und Regisseur York-Fabian Raabe über ihren Film BORGA. BORGA ist eine authentische schwarze Geschichte, insbesondere eine authentische ghanaische Geschichte, mit der sich Menschen auf der ganzen Welt identifizieren können: Der Kampf, etwas aus seinem Leben zu machen und das Anerkennung Ihrer Familie. Worum geht es in dem Film? Kojo, ein junger ghanaischer Mann, will die Anerkennung seiner Familie gewinnen. Doch als er nach Deutschland geht, zerreißt das Familienband. Ein Lichtblick ist Lina, aber auch bei ihr versucht er das Bild zu erfüllen, von dem er denkt, dass es alle von ihm erwarten – das Bild des Borga. BORGA wurde für Eugene und York-Fabian zu einer Reise, die Ghanaer, Deutsche, in Deutschland lebende Ghanaer und in Ghana lebende Deutsche näher zusammenbrachte. Im Interview sprechen wir darüber, wie es zu dem Film kam und warum er den beiden so viel bedeutet. Wir sprechen auch über die gute Musik im Film und die vielen Hip Hop Referenzen. Every story about the life of Tony Halme, professional wrestling's Ludvig Borga, seemed so outrageous they couldn't possibly be true. Halme truly lived the “foreign heel” gimmick in his surreal, shocking life; he was openly racist and homophobic and even had a Nazi tattoo. Yet, despite being an overtly bigoted man with deplorable views, he kept surfacing in public worlds of celebrity: he was a pro wrestler, boxer, UFC fighter, actor, writer, and musician before getting elected to parliament in Finland. Before he was even a year into his political term, he overdosed on amphetamines and alcohol, shot an illegal firearm in his apartment during an argument with his wife, and went into a 3-week coma where he possibly suffered brain damage. TRANSCRIPT When I was a little kid, I wanted to be in the movies. Well, not really, but for the purposes of this Vortex, let's roll with that. So when I dreamed of a career on the silver screen when I was 10, I never could have imagined that, one day, I'd have the honor of being in a Martin Scorsese film. But here I am, a half-century later, playing the part of the villain. The movie is Building a Bridge, and, yep, Martin Scorsese is the producer. The flick is all about the "journey" of the long-suffering Fr. James Martin crusading for love and acceptance of sodomites in the Church. And, of course, any good movie needs a villain as well as a hero, and that's where we come in — black hat and all. The movie debuted in 2021 at the "prestigious" Tribeca Film Festival in Manhattan and went on sale for home viewing earlier this month. Here's the trailer. Sure, you want to be close to Jesus, Father. Sure, that's why you're doing all this. And, by the way, back when Martin exploded so flamboyantly onto the ecclesiastical stage, the question was put to him, "Fr. Martin, are you homosexual?" Eventually, he responded by saying his Jesuit superiors have ordered him not to talk about his orientation. That's a little weird, but OK. Martin exploded flamboyantly onto the ecclesiastical stage. The nearly hour-long movie is really little else than a propaganda piece trumpeting sodomy in the Church, with the "unique" angle that a priest is leading the charge. Of course, given the current state of affairs, there's nothing unique about a pro-gay priest. Scorsese, you will recall, also directed the blasphemous 1988 film The Last Temptation of Christ, which we won't get into because of its filth. Let's just say, Mother Angelica's review was direct, calling the movie "the most blasphemous ridicule of the Eucharist that's ever been perpetrated in this world." But back to Jimmy Martin and his bridge to Hell construction: Church Militant should consider itself blessed to be cast as the villain in a pro-sodomy film. In fact, we do. My father, God rest his soul, used to say to me, "Michael, when you die and go before Our Lord, make sure you have the right list of enemies with you." If Fr. James Martin and Martin Scorsese are on that list, which they are, then I have some hope of salvation. Let's be very clear here — very clear. Anyone, especially a priest, who promotes intrinsic evil is on his way to damnation, and, in the case of a priest, he takes many souls with him. Church teaching is very clear: Homosexual acts are contrary to nature, the natural moral law and, as such, are always evil. Martin cannot sidestep this, no matter how hard he tries. So, what Martin does is simply ignore the teaching and twist it around by quoting Scripture out of context, deliberately so. Jesus didn't eat with prostitutes and tax collectors because He wanted to be inclusive and tolerant and accepting. He ate with them because He loved them enough to call them out of their sin to change their lives and live for Him. Martin knows this, all of it, and yet continues deceiving his audiences — souls that have a right to the truth, even if they don't like it. Martin is obligated by Almighty God to tell these souls the truth and help them live it. But since Martin is gay himself — and if you aren't, Father, deny it — he seeks damnation for them because, you know, misery loves company. The movie is based on Martin's book Building a Bridge and, in the video promoting his book, he spews out so many errors and deceptions, it's almost impossible to catalog them all, or count them. The first 23 seconds are five questions that deliberately obscure the truth, so they are actually lies disguised as questions. From there, it just spirals downward, conflating terms and phrases to obscure the truth. For example, the Church has an obligation to welcome LGBT people. Again, more obfuscation — commingling friendly sounding words like "welcome" with objective states of mortal sin. The Church is under absolutely zero obligation to welcome sin and evil. So when I dreamed of a career on the silver screen when I was 10, I never could have imagined that, one day, I'd have the honor of being in a Martin Scorsese film. But here I am, a half-century later, playing the part of the villain. The movie is Building a Bridge, and, yep, Martin Scorsese is the producer. The flick is all about the "journey" of the long-suffering Fr. James Martin crusading for love and acceptance of sodomites in the Church. And, of course, any good movie needs a villain as well as a hero, and that's where we come in — black hat and all. The movie debuted in 2021 at the "prestigious" Tribeca Film Festival in Manhattan and went on sale for home viewing earlier this month. Here's the trailer.
